In its effort towards sanitizing the education sector of the state, the Ogun State Government on Wednesday suspended the services of no fewer than 1,024 teachers for allegedly engaging in fraudulent and irregular activities like forgery and manipulation of credentials. The suspension is with immediate effect.http://www.zimbio.com/Nigeria+Today/articles/J9JjY8I51Nl/Over+1000+Teachers+Suspended+Ogun+State |
abrat: I did not say sack, the teachers were suspended! dude. Are you part of the sacked 2000 workers ? Daniel hurriedly employed 2000 workers a month to the end of his tenure. Ogun state govt. asked those sacked to re apply, and those with the right credentials were re-absorbed. So what is the noise ? 1000 teachers with high possibility of fake certificates, you want those criminals to remain in the system as role models and teachers of school children ? |
Almost 50% of budget (81 billion naira) to be sourced from loan ??. Something does not seem right about the budget of rochas. |
Some people are still foolishlyy asking what criteria was used for the ranking. The FOUR (4) criteria used are listed in the report. |
rampant lover: An idiot with no cell brain in his fractured skull is saying there are no SA Universities in the list because they are in their own class. If the top ten universities in the list should be from SA, then you have no choice but let it be as such because SA is part of Africa. So many lame fools in here who are just keyboard/pad happy. Happy to type without any iota of thinking. You want to ignore universities in SA even though you ranking top universities in Africa. Didn't you feel ashamed of yourself spewing that rubbish? While students from across the continent continue to move abroad to study at leading learning institutions in the U.S. and Europe, Africa boasts its own league of great universities. Presented below is Part I of Africa.com’s Top 10 Universities in Africa. Part II will feature the Top 10 Universities in South Africa, a country that is home to enough academic heavyweights to populate its own list.” Why is it difficult for you to read a write up of less than 10 lines? The awardee has in its own wisdom exclude South African universities, and you are foaming in the mouth. Part 2 of the next ranked universities will be top 10 universities in south AFrica, it is there staring you in the face, but you are so physically and intellectually lazy to read it. |
@ ambroseagu, 70 days out of how many days leave? how many days left? Is it an unlimited leave? Something seems wrong, and your defence is somehow laughable (LOL !) |
gregg2: Fraud Fraud Fraud Fraud Fraud FraudIf you read the article, south African universities were not considered , because they were in the class of there own and thus will be classified separately. If they had try to include them, all the top 10 universities will most likely be in South frica |
sammhi: it is a federal creation . but mod. u have to see my arguments on tax collection in unmotorable roadsYou have done good by finding out and saying the truth. I told you to find out who created VIO, cause i felt you need to start exercising your latent objectivity skills. You have another assignment, (1) Find out who owns the badagry road( Is it a federal road? OR Lagos state road? or local government road?), the bad road where a container fell from a truck and crushed the car and the occupants (2) Find out if the Lagos state government is at the moment doing anything on that road also. |
@ Op , you have made good observations, but lack objectivity. Nigeria's biggest hindrance to fast pace development is the structure of governance & democracy ... I laugh when people talk about travelling to big international cities and comparing to a places in nigeria like lagos, and make disparaging remarks about homebased Nigerians as mediocres for applauding the state administrator. Where is your objectivity ? Do they have the same resources?, Do they have the same challenges ? Lagos State with a population of 18 million has a budget of less than 500 billion naira in 2012 budget. Capetown with a population of 3.5 million has a budget of over 550 billion naira in 2012/2013 budget. South Africa with a population of 60 million has a budget of over 20 trillion naira in 2012/2013 budget. Nigeria with a population of 170 million has a budget of less than 5 trillion naira in 2013 budget. Until we change from our banana republic , by changing the structure we are currently operating with, and have TRUE FEDERALISM, the real potential of the country will remain latent. The structural change should be what all Nigerians should be clamoring for, not self centred and myopic state creation. |
@ OP, you have an assignment. Find out if VIO is a state or federal govt creation. Submit the answer on this thread |
^^^ Of recent, anytime i am reading comments and i see statements like " shot in the eye" " shot in the nose" " shot in the head" " shot in the leg" , I see your moniker. Is there something else upstaging you? |
Donald7610: The BRT drivers are empowered beyond any task-forceWhat nonsenseeeee is this one yapping about ? |
Sincere 9gerian: I do not intend to malign the Lagos state govt but to point out the HYPOCRISY and CONTRADICTIONS in the assessments of public office holders.Hey !, At the end of the current tenure of the ACN governor, Lagos will still have bad roads and slums.... FACT. Does that mean the LASG has failed? NO. What you watch out for to assess performance is RATE OF IMPROVEMENT. a last runner in a relay race who received the baton at the 8th position and finished in the 2nd placed deserve more accolades than the other guy in the other team who received his baton as the first placed and came first at the end of the race. |
Paul John: You're right about the wrong generalization.i disagree as regards the boldened part of your statement, other places matters. |
Great news from the University of first choice, the NATIONS PRIDE. |
He did not use the word " i married her out of pity " , let people be reasonable, his reasons are tenable. Journalists have a way of sensationalising ones statement to sell their news. Read again ..... |
@ op, i believe your assertion that most mad people on the street smile or laugh is wrong. Your wrong perception was formed from what nollywood or movies depict mad people with. Take a survey of mad people on the street, you hardly see them smiling or laughing. They wear a sober or morose look. |
shadrach77: maybe this was why some posts were removed but by some strange co-incidence, it seems thhe VCs of UNILAG and LASU are almost always muslimsHeyy !! Dont be a religious bigot? ![]() I am a xtian, Was the immediate former VC Babatunde Adetokunbo sofoluwe a muslim? Was Tolu Odugbemi who handed over to sofoluwe a muslim? Was Ibidapo Obe who handed over to Odugbemi a muslim? you talk about the VC of LASU, Is the current VC John Obafunwa a muslim? You are thinking with your asss? You are one of Nigerias biggest problem, It is so unfortunate, your voting pattern will most likely go with your thought process. |
Congratulations to the new Vice chancellor. I sincerely hopes his tenure will bring about greater and longer strides in the development of the ivory tower of first choice. |
makinde3: It is very bad that they are fake teachers, but if they are doing well in there teaching job, they do not need sacking but training they to be qualified teachersAre you for real ? That's a wrong thinking bro !. Keeping them in the system sets a wrong precedence, anyone can then forge a certificate to get a job, hoping to be retained if eventually caught. |
jigawatts: We still believe in God and hope he will be found. All sorts of investigations av been going on, but nothing found........ At this junction, we hope God will give us a reason to rejoice. God owns all of us and he can do whatever her likes with us ...... The family is staying strong and everyone is moving around with their normal lives.God is called the omniscient, and not just that, he is the omnipotent. |
Jonathans tenure and sport laurels for nigerian teams seems to be INVERSELY proportional |
Ajimobi might have a seemingly slow start, the end will justify the means. he is way different and better than the akalas and ladojas. The monthly 18,000 minimum wage payment for state workers means he uses 92% of average of 4.5 biliion naira (monthly fed. Allocation + IGR )to pay salaries. Paltry 8% of 4.5 billion naira monthly is what is left for governance. He has started working on improving the state Monthly IGR of roughly 1.3 billion to 5 billion by next year. I know of many construction projects awarded in ibadan, but work has yet to start. The bond optiön is what he has toed for now. At the end of his 4 years, no excuse wil be tenable if he fails to perform |
Lip sticks are carcinogenic. Never kiss a lip stick, Cancer is real |
Unfortunately the initial smear campaign is what some folks will ever hear, because it is heartening and convenient to be seen as the truth. Bad news spread way faster. I believe the case should not be allowed to die, and the legal route should be toed. |
Anybody who wants GEJ to fail is an enemy of progress, though i didnt vote for him, it is important as nigerians we are objective in critiquing a govt. Enough of looking at things with the goggle of a party or tribe. If the repair works cost 1billion naira for that scope of work(replacement of 8 expansion joints). Have nigerians not been shortchanged ![]() |
Itohen: The Federal Government will today (Tuesday) reopen the Third Mainland Bridge, Lagos, one week ahead of the scheduled delivery date of November 6, 2012.The second paragraph talked about replacing 8 expansion joints on the bridge for one billion naira. Is that contract sum not outrageous ? |
Consistently the PDP in the opposition tries to give ACN a bad name, so they can rubbish it. That article was so POORLY WRITTEN, imagine a sitting governor in ekiti was detained for 42 days unfortunately, Some cheap people might fall for this propaganda. |
advocate666: Please don't blame the artificial state. Blame the nigerian govt and their program of consistently keeping the igbos down. If we had our igbo country, this will not exist. Fight for your freedom because no one else would do it for you.di-di-rin! . Theodore orji will still be your leader in ndiabia of biafra. |
While the op might have some point, i take exception to talking of infrastructural facelift in ACN controlled states and comparing with only 2 PDP controlled states both oil producing states. |
