It runs in their blood. I stated this phenomenon about PDP and Oyo state in a thread some few days ago, one of their online touts told me i am speaking sentiments. https://www.nairaland.com/1080624/mimiko-wins-ondo-gubernatorial-poll/8#12648267 |
It is simple, A typical Lagosian tends to be lawless, except it meets brute force to obey the laws. (s)he dares not do that when out of the country. A combination of sensitization on the need to do the right thing and brute force for the stubborn majority is needed for people to comply. |

bid4rich: Im 30 and she is 27A lady at 27 is expected to be mentally and physical matured for a serious relationship and marriage. I initially thought she was a teenager from her response. As she said she is not into you, you are probably trying to buy her affection through naira notes. Dont take that statement lightly, especially now she is going for NYSC, talk it through with her, Give her space, and explore . A Girl not in to her guy, will explore with others at the slightest opportunity, and dump him like hot potatoes at her appropriate time |
Former PDP governor Gbenga Daniel allocated 5 times of this(2,500 hectares) to an individual Obasanjo in unclear terms. You can google out that. I hope the land is put in to good use and not left fallow. |
onatisi: @gbawe ,so you think this is good award abi"Best Security Conscious State Governor in West Africa”?who is the cheif sucurity officer of the state ?isnt that why he was elected ?if he likes let him buy helicopters for the police he is simply doing his job.so you think such a dumb award can be given to govs in more civilised countries,i think it is right time we nigerians differntiates rights from priviledges ,and duties from achievements,Mr PDP-oyo state., your post is painted with color ignorance. I hope you learn from Gbawe's enlightenment. |
Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, was Saturday in Accra, Ghana, honoured as the “Best Security Conscious State Governor in West Africa” by Security Watch Africa. Security Watch Africa is an organisation that sets security agenda for African leaders and is at the forefront of celebrating Security and Safety Excellence in Africa. The governor, while receiving the award at La Palm Royal Beach Hotel in Accra, described Ogun State as the “economic and business destination of Nigeria,” a statement made available to THISDAY yesterday said. He said his government placed a high premium on security, hence its massive investment in security equipment like the state-of-the-art Armoured Personnel Carriers (APCs) and Hilux vans fitted with modern communication gadgets, among others. “Today in Nigeria, Ogun State is ranked among the first three most secure states,” Amosun declared. This achievement, according to the governor, has been made possible by the support of our security agencies, the cooperation of the good people of Ogun State and their determination to rid our environment of all forms of criminality. Senator Amosun, ably supported by his wife, Mrs. Olufunso Amosun, added that the honour was in recognition of the successes recorded in the state. He noted the challenge posed by the proximity of Ogun to Lagos and its land border with the Republic of Benin. “These pose challenges to us. To make sure that our state is secure for the good people of Ogun State, investors and all Nigerians who daily throng our state to do business, we had to go on this offensive. Lagos State government has succeeded in driving criminals from the city and I believe we have a duty to make Ogun State an uncomfortable zone for them,” he said. The governor used the opportunity of the award ceremony to invite the people of Ghana to come to Ogun State to invest their money, “because the state holds the future economic and industrial base of Nigeria.” Speaking earlier at the event, the Chairperson, Board of Trustees, Security Watch Africa, Dr Theresa Oppory Beeko, said the awards were instituted to encourage governments across West Africa to confront headlong the challenge posed by insecurity, as businesses could only thrive in a peaceful environment. She reminded governments in the sub-region of their constitutional responsibility to ensure security and welfare of their peoples. She singled out Governor Amosun for deserving the prestigious “Best Security Conscious State Governor in West Africa” because of his achievements in the security sub-sector since May, 2011 when he assumed the leadership of Ogun State. Among those that received other awards by Security Watch Africa included the governor of Abia State and three Police Commissioners from Nigeria. It will be recalled that the administration of Senator Ibikunle Amosun inherited a serious security problem which sometimes led to banks closing business because of fear of armed robbers. During the launch of the Armoured Personnel Carriers, the very latest technology of APCs in the world and first of such in Nigeria, in Abeokuta, the capital of Ogun State, on April 22nd, 2012, the Inspector-General of Police, Mr Muhammed Abubakar, said: “I have served in all six geographical zones of this country, I have never seen the kind of equipment you are donating to security agents today. This is the first of such maximum donation I have ever seen since I have been serving as Police officer.” The era of banks closing business because of insecurity has since ended in Ogun State and many foreign and local investors are now taking advantage of its business-friendly environment such as sticking to international best practices in the interface of the public with government officials and respect for due process and sanctity of the rule of law. http://www.thisdaylive.com/articles/amosun-emerges-best-security-conscious-gov-in-w-africa/128298/ |
OtunbaGm: I remember very vividly that Fashola was distributing helmet to Okada riders before his re-election for seconD term in oFfice! Now hE is serving them with traffic laws! Weldone d Captain! The Helmet distributed is for the riders and passengers safety The 475 busy highway ban is for the riders and passengers safety. At the end is all to enhance road safety |
smartchoice: LET FAYEMI CONDUCT LGA ELECTIONS IN EKITI NOW NOW!!!IDIOT!And what will happen? Mr Pdp -Ekiti , stop rowing the boat of delusion. Even Ogun State won the local govt elections, 2 months ago by 20/20 |
His deputy governor was impeached by the state house of assembly 3 weeks ago, I hope there is no foul play ![]() |
The next gubernatorial election in the SW is in Ekiti state by March 2014 or thereabout. I posit that Governor Fayemi of the ACN will be re-elected with a landslide victory. Mimiko's victory does not signify the end of ACN, in fact it will make the party stronger. I hope other opposition parties can ward off the PDP. I again posit that APGA will lose to PDP in the Dec. 2013 elections in Anambra state. I wont be surprised if PDP fields the capital oil boss "Ifeanyi Uba" currently on fuel subsidy probe as their candidate. ![]() |
The next thing some people will come here and say is what alternative has Fashola provided? There is nothing wrong if the State Government Provide alternatives, but at what cost? Why should a man and woman with no meaningful income have 7 offsprings ? . A couple of such is a nuisance, and must be treated as such. |
how old is she ? how old are u? |
The responses here are shocking |
So because ondo election went like this, incumbent LP - 44% , PDP - 27% ACN- 25%. Tide has turned on ACN abi? IF mimiko the incumbent governor had withdrawn out of the race 2 days before election. Who do you think will win? PDP or ACN ? |
I can conclude the OP is dumb. His assertions are majorly false, even the ones he can get at the press of a button. If you can not get facts and figures right, how then do you analyse it? |
Why so much obsession about this man, Tinubu? Tinubu's party lost an election in the South West, so did Awo's party lost an election in the South west in the 2nd republic. The only negative i can infer from the ACN campaign fold is the "capture ondo" phrase, which is not that bad, IT IS ALL POLITICS. The people have decided, it is time for governance. |
Some people are so averse to change. |
thelastPope: At all at all now! Haba! How we go vex? We saw what people like your kind did to four students now at Aluu the other day so it isn't suprising anymore. If this your statement had come before the Aluu incident, the we might have been suprised. But the Aluu incident has opened our eyes to the wickedness in the country by arrogant and barbaric f00ls like you in postition of power who think they are some kind of god or something just like the Aluu crowd.@lost pope, you became lost on the "other thread" and resumed here to continue to spew thrash. I will never support outright ban of Okada riders because the effect will be catastrophic on the high number of riders in Lagos. I have canvassed for this position strongly on previous related threads. Be that as it may, they must be regulated, i trust an average nigerian, (s)he believes a new law is just a joke that can not be implemented, except brute force is applied initially, some certain laws can not be implemented in Nigeria. it is clear in the new traffic law, if your bike is caught, it will be confiscated. Once the bike has been confiscated, it ceases to belong to the owner, Government then decides on what to do with it. If Government burns it, auction it, crush it, or ,,,,,,,, It doesnt matter any longer. |
It is unfortunate this is not a thread for Lagos state, for every of the nonsense thelostpope has listed as real development, i can give evidence of at least 5 vital projects on each. I am no die hard advocate of any government, but i try to use my brain at looking at issues, devoid of sentiments. No government is perfect. It is disheartening this thread has many herds, with very few herdsmen. The herds do not have a mind of their own, and can not objectively analyse the performance of a government. Their opinion is someone's opinion. |
@lost pope, in case you are ashamed to open the link, i will post it, to shut your trap permanently. You are simply an ignoramus, and a bloody arm chair critics who lack the needed analytical skills to critique a government. Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babatunde Fashola (SAN), Thursday launched the Maternal and Child Care Mortality Reduction Programme in the state, saying it has built eight maternal and child care hospitals in the past five years to provide life saving services to mothers and children. |
thelastPope: You are a dumbo! You want to show me links? I live in Lagos. I don't need links. if they exist, I would know and use them. Even the mini health centers available are funded by MTN foundation. What is Lagos state doing with all the tax money? Spending it trying to uproot an iroko I guess. Pathetic. All hail the omniscient idiiot of Lagos state !!!! Continue to bask in ignorance. You know every public sector projects in Lagos State, dont you? http://www.thisdaylive.com/articles/lagos-govt-builds-eight-maternal-and-childcare-centres-in-five-years/128119/ Let us start from the ones above, i have other health projects by the LASG, i will lecture you on, only if you care. |
thelastPope: I don't even know where to start my response from. You are so incoherent. Will you shut up forever, if i provide you links of evidence for each of your listed "real development" that has been provided by Fashola ? I ask, because it is worthless wasting my time trying to educate a blind and deaf fellow. |
garri_gangster: Calm down Mr. I am an Ibadan indigiene and I live there as well. In as much as the PDP had their faults while ruling the State, Akala still performed much better than this current invalid you call a Governor. Can you list Akala's achievement in his first 18 months? |
garri_gangster: The PDP don't control Ondo but in a Presidential election, dey would trounce the AC-HEN there. Got it? Jesus would come before PDP would be dislodged from the centre .Mr PDP apologists, your nuisance value has been deduced. even your id reveals that, you simply dont have the capability to understand my post. |
garri_gangster: Just shut up. All those sentiments don't work anymore. They are not sentiments, they are facts ! |
thelastPope: You are spewing absolute BS! This is 2012. Where in the world would you arrest someone for a traffic offence and destroy their vehicle? Are you from aluu? Have you ever heard of fines? Have you ever heard of 1st offenders? You come here and cry that people are suffering in Nigeria then you logout and go and demolish someone's okada worth 120k. Its that not devilish? Evil people!Stop whipping up useless emotions ! How do you identify 1st offenders effectively? Now they are crushing the bikes, all commercial bike men MUST have known. It takes an Unrepentant and stuuuupid cyclist to still disobey the laws to have his bike crushed Yes, sometimes only brute force works to bring a change effectively and immediately ! I mentioned Ekiti state , coz it is the only ACN administered state, after lagos, that has spent up to 2 years. I only highlighted some achievement of a neighboring state to Ondo state, how many of those achievements can Ondo state, four times richer boast of ? I only made reference to the road in Ogun to make a point, at least a governor has not commissioned any after 3.5 years. At times, the claim is Fashola has abandoned the island, when proves are shown. You switch to he has abandon the mainland. Dont you people get tired of this nonsense? Are you pathetically dumb? |
thelastPope: You must be one of those f00ls who have spent most of their lives in isaleko and are now claiming Lagos indigene. Living from Tinubu's crumbs. Is ACN performing in Ogun? Oyo? Osun? Ekiti? How much is schools fees in LASU? Where have you seen where someone fires 788 doctors without recourse to the consequences or where have you seen a leader crushing a 100k worth okada of a poor man? Where have you seen someone put a toll gate in a residential area that charges N150 for every pass? Why has Fashola abandoned the Lagos mainland? Why does Tinubu companies run collect every contract? Is that the slavery and backwardness you want to spread round the south west? Mugu!Give it up ! It is difficult to clean up an eye sore to bring about development, many short sighted opposition activists like you will arise Ordinary, removal of beggars in lagos was met with massive protest, clearing of makoko waterfronts nko? another massive protest, the PDP opposition harp on this shiiit and make noise. Removal of commercial motorcyclists on certain highways nko? many adamant and stubborn cyclists persists, you cant play with kid gloves with people who are adamant about not obeying a law. Crushing of seized cycles for recycling is on point, it SENDS COLD SHIVERS down the spine of the others who still will want to break the law. Sometimes, our people are forgetful, do you want the el-rufai total ban of motorcycles in Abuja / Amaechis total ban of motorcycles in Portharcourt ?. I am sure the lagos option is preferrable. all the four other SW states have shown flash of brilliance. Ekiti Governor was last month honored as the Governor of the year 2011. Ekiti state is the poorest state / capita in Nigeria, yet it has succeeded in bringing investor in to the state , it has created over 5,000 jobs for its youths, social welfare for a sizable chunk of its elderly s , free laptop distribution for sec. students, commisioned good roads. Ogun state governor commisioned a 6 lane road of close to 3km exactly 365 days, it was sworn in. What every contract is tinubu collecting? Alpha-beta has been disengaged by Lagos state from collecting tax. How has fashola abandoned the mainland? Dont just feed on propaganda(i hope you are not an author of propaganda btw), THINK CRITICALLY. |
onatisi: it is a show of ultimate stupidity and outstanding foolishness for anyone to believe that it is only acn that can deliver good governance to nigerians ,so far all their performances in various states have been below average.many ppl in oyo state are now regreting voting acn ,and at the grassroot level pdp is gaining back it members gradually.Hey mister ! The worst of ACN in oyo state is better than the best of PDP in oyo state. When i think of PDP in oyo state, i think of thuggery. When i think of PDP in oyo state, i think of NURTW. When i think of PDP in oyo state, i think of Lamidi Adedibu . When i think of PDP in oyo state, i think of Eleweomo impeaching a sitting governor. When i think of PDP in oyo state, i think of Akala and the forty thieves. When i think of PDP in oyo state, i think of underdevelopment. Woe to PDP in oyo state, it will fail a 1000 times consecutively |
Let me start by congratulating Governor Olusegun mimiko of Ondo state on his re-election for a 2nd term. I really hopes he moves the vehicle of progress at full throttle now he has the mandate for 2nd term. Without making any political statement, His 3.5 years performance is at best an average one, and not spectacular as many will want us to believe for the revenue accruing to the state.Although, he scored high in certain areas, like health, some urban area beautification, community participation and relatively in education. Close to 60% of Ondo state voters still rejected him at the polls ( he won with 42% of total votes, low for a "supposed" INCUMBENT high performer) . On comparative analysis, from my little research Ondo state earns roughly N 8 billion monthly (Fed allocation + IGR) vs Oyo state which earns roughly N4 billion monthly . Ondo state has a smaller workforce and a 3.5 million population Vs 5.6million of Oyo state. Virtually, no road has been commisioned as much as i found out in the first 3.5 years. Ondo state has 18 lg versus 33 lg in Oyo state. No single investor has been invited succesfully to invest in a gold mine like Ondo state. No single industry was built. No direct jobs were created for the teeming youths/ school leavers in an oil producing state (State Prone to militancy) Some brandished projects by the state govt. like markets and town halls are supposed to be local govt projects, as enshrined in the constitution. I hope this message sinks in to his supporters now the election is over,, i am so certain he won this election, BUT HE HAS TO CHANGE THE GEAR IN THE SECOND TERM As long PDP do not win any more states, i am ok. If i have a limited choice of picking a candidate from PDP and "OOOPP" candidate, i will vote the latter. The less PDP gets hold of states, the more easier it is to dislodge them at the centre. As long as the PDP controls the centre, Nigeria will not witness the structural change it badly needs. |
