Much expected. ![]() |
I feel some people are afraid, he seems to be having a rising political profile. A potential gubernatorial candidate. |
"Only 40% of pregnant ladies gives birth in registered hospital in nigeria" >>> Prof. Angela Makolo. The 40% hospital attendance of pregnant women accounts largely for the high maternal mortality rate Government is trying to increase the "40%" , BUT going about it the wrong way. |
edicolove: While I think scoring GEJ now will be too early, I can jumpstart that with the following: |
^^^ It is slightly okay if he is paid, but really terrible if not. |
The Federal Govt keeps over 52% of the total revenue, and shares the remaining 48% or less amongst state and local government in 36 states of the federation and 774 local governments. If we try to break it further, Lagos state govt. will be earning realistically 1% or less of the total revenue to the federation. Where are the COMPLETED projects commisioned ? Where are the COMPLETED projects commisioned ? Where are the COMPLETED projects commisioned ? Where are the COMPLETED projects commisioned ? |
edicolove: First I didn't say first to do cassava bread, but first to have a well defined agric policy. The last time we had something close to this kind of drive in agriculture was in 1977 during OBJ's first regime. But it wasn't followed thru. Can you please shut up about this "well defined agric policy" ? is that part of the project commissioned? Na today nigeria dey get "well defined agric policy"? he don tey ! Green Revolution .... Operation feed the nation ..... Food for all ..... Better life for rural women....... They were all "well defined agric policy" at one point or the other in Nigeria's history. Hey !, Are you simply dumb or being paid? |
The looks on Naeto face is not 10/10. Is he not happy? |
Sure, PDP is Nigeria's biggest problem, there is a systemic pitfall against performance or delivering dividends of democracy within the party. The day PDP loses at the centre is the day many Nigerians will realise they have been hypnotized all along. ACN / APGA / CPC / ANPP might need to join ranks and find a common ground in ousting the dragon called PDP at the centre i also have hope in the ACN governors, they have all been above average in performance, although many people have been silly by comparing achievements of governors who have only spent one year with the others with five years or more. Apart from fashola, none of the other ACN governors(oshiomole inclusive) when they took over the affairs of the state hit the ground running, chiefly because they took over from the PDP governors who had decelerated the development of the states, which definitely required more tact, new programmes, probes in to the past e.t.c Fashola (5 years +), Oshiomole (3.5 years +), Aregbesola (1.5 year +), Fayemi (1.5 year +) Ajimobi (1 year +), Amosun (1 year +). All of the above governors were selected in one way or the other by the ACN national leaders, and they have not failed so far, if you access with an objective lens. we have witnessed PDP carry out scores of parallel primaries, Ghana must go bag primaries, AK-47 /charm controlled primaries e.t.c to produce the biggest of crooks and nonetities as flag bearers If you will acess a man like Aregbesola versus his predecessor Oyinlola (who spent 7.5 consecutive years May 29 2003-Nov 2010), i think it is fair to access the performance of Oyinlola in his first 1.5 years (2003 -2004). The same applies to all other governors. |
Too early to call. Femi Gbajabiamila (House minority leader) can not be pushed away though, no one is mentioning him. |
Let the sleeping dog lie, Many people are screaming trust ,trust,trust,...... Believe me, the word trust has become more of rhetorics. The human psychology belies trust more often than not, especially by the female folks |
Those who wants to be president in Nigeria must learn to keep their ambition veiled neatly till the right time, he has failed to do that. I still have great reservations for the performance of Gov. Rochas. , I have a feeling a sizable chunk of his projects are low on sustainability(pre & Post project completion). I believe time will tell (the next 12-18 months) , my feeling might be wrong though. |
@ OP, i have skimmed through your post and past posts. You appear like a sissy, lots and lots of ladies will like you for the wrong reasons. You need a change in orientation and wisen up speedily ! |
It is much needed, This kind of corrective action only needs to be phased. Alot of this eye sore exist in Lagos, correcting it has to be gradual. |
Long years of military rule has eroded the right thought process of an average nigerian. Good job Fashola ! |
i suspect techno is gradually taking over from Nokia in the Nigerian market It is okay, it keeps Nokia on their toes. |
walton1: For all political actors, the potency of the web as a factor in future political contest should not be in doubt. Blocking the web is of course not an option; boycotting the web is also suicidal. The incontestable reality is that future elections may be partly won and lost on the web.I quite agree with the above, although it might not have the much needed efficacy in the 2015 elections. Twitter, facebook, bb, nairaland e.t.c have made more nigerians politically aware, and we would make better choices politically. |
Na you sabi , in actual fact, keep it to yourself |
what ? !!!, you mean your mother was kidnapped, that is not OK. ![]() |
jmaine: Should a mother not praise her child for good performance in school, despite expecting such after paying her ward's school feesYour analogy does not hold water, that is the child's primary responsibility (doing well in school). GEJ's has no business whatsoever interfering in Edo's state election process . The child has no business whatsoever dipping his/her hands in the mothers stew pot picking meat |
A very common fallacy, even among the supposed enlightened ... |
Should a mother praise her child for not stealing meat in the household pot? |
Should a mother thank her child for not stealing meat in the household pot? |
Omo_Tier1: Why would you want to post results that are unofficial on NL? FYI, Nigerians are now wiser than before. ACN as a party, though I am not a member of the party is more than capable of fielding party agents in every polling unit in the state and indeed, during the 2011 General elections, I voted in the same polling Unit with one of the Commissioners and also the PDP candidate for House of Rep. Right on the spot after results were collated around 2.35pm, figures were forwarded via text to ACN collection center, (God knows where) along with photos of the result sheet as pasted on the walls. From your first statement, i want to believe you are not in touch with reality, why are you on this thread by the way?. People want live updates to gauge where the pendulum of the election is swinging to, Dont use the word chilax any more, it is pretty annoying, you dont "chilax" against a party known to be expert in overnight abracadabra, you act proactively, you do a quick collation, and release un official result and stimulate widespread jubilation, while the PDP is still planning out evil schemes, it send fears down their spine. At the last gubernatorial elction, Stories abound of where opposition parties were leading before the "night" in some states and had lost in the morning. Delta state DPP is one, Benue State ACN is another, it goes on and on and on...... You dont "chillax" against a cunning fox like PDP, do you get it? |
Abagworo: Its like you were not aware of what happened in the 2011 elections where the opposition were beaten up and their own copies torn to pieces.I doubt if you have taken the time to read and understand my post, a very well co-ordinated collation of results, that is cheap and effective is what i am talking of, not agents paper results. A polling agent sending a text message immediately after votes count to his/her local government co-ordinator is cheap, and effective. A local government co-ordinator receives roughly 150 of such messages, and transfers it to an excel sheet(no need for manual calculation) in 2 hours , the total results for the local government can be obtained. There is no special need for high -tech in doing this |
Omo_Tier1: it is only how to theorize people like you know! Always thinking they know better than others. FYI, the whole of Edo State was fully networked and as I type this from my base in the UK, we know the largely the votes that have accrued to the opponents and those that accrue to the ACN. You mention 200 polling units, need I point you to some results already flying around from the mega polling units? From Ovia to Igarra, from Orhionwnon to Igueben... so dude chilax.I am way practical for you to understand me, i told you the total results should be out by 10pm (at least 3 hours after votes count). You have the results from your UK base, You have the result, and we need to wait till tomorrow afternoon? ![]() |
Omo_Tier1: chill.... that has already been done! where do you think the results being broadcasted worldwide are flying out from? The big challenge is getting to prevent INEC from changing the result sheet with PDP branded ones! That is why men are awake all night! PDP and Anenih don fall like a poisoned rat.I am not talking of this highly un co-ordinated trickle in results, i am talking of the total collated result. Out of the over 2,600 polling units result, i doubt if you have obtained up to 200 polling unit results (less than 10%) |
what privacy are you harping about? He is a public figure!, ok ? |
By now, political parties who are top contenders should have collated their result, and the unofficial result should have been determined. Most of our political parties are many times not proactive in curbing "overnight abracadabra" Edo state has roughly 2,600 polling units and 18 local governments, this translates to average of 150 polling units per local government. A party like ACN is expected to have agents in all the 2,600 polling units. Each agent can simply be mandated, after votes count to immediately send a text message to a designated phone number for each local government (top 3 candidates result). The local government co-ordinator then updates the results as (s)he receives it on a computer spreadsheet like excel. The 18 local government co-ordinators simply add the results together, and obtain the final result. This should not take more than 2hours after votes count. |
If by now ACN starts celebrating and brandishing results from the 18 local governments, they would have successfully instilled fear in to the other opponents who might be marshalling out plans to perform "overnight abracadabra" or "scientific rigging". Many of our political parties are still not proactive enough in checking collation centres rigging ![]() |
