IsraeliAIRFORCE:. stop writing nonsense, tell me any state that has waste mgt issues like Lagos? or any state with more need for security than Lagos state , or any state that has traffic management issues like Lagos state, or any state that has active network of roads state and local govt roads subjected to wear and tear like Lagos, or any state as urbanised as Lagos state.?. I can easily tell you 5 states with 70-100% annual budget of Lagos state, yet is not surmounted with one third of the issues and challenged listed above. |
WisdomFlakes:look well enough, you will see him |
EdCure:. not true, he won under anpp. the 99_03 governor under anpp lost party ticket to contest in 2003 and decamped to AD, but lost in the general election |

sw is the region with the largest contributor to the GDP, and also the second largest contributor to the nations revenue. Lagos revenue is about to increase |
Evathyst:just add ss in front of the youtube link. e.g www.youtube,com becomes www.ssyoutube.com, and it takes you to the download section |
foxxynik:That you are a bastard does not mean you keep hurting that you have been fatherless all your life, take a grip and get hold of your life. I detest moronss quoting me, dont in your miserable life bother to quote me, i dont roll with embittered idiiots, if you wish evil on the incoming government, you will only witness it being sworn it, you will not be a part of it . |
foxxynik:You fools should stop wishing the incoming government failure, he won less than 3 weeks ago, and you are praying so hard for his goverment to fail, as if it is not Nigeria he will govern |
I have noticed in the last few weeks that some idioots have now decided to be releasing false and fictional news about the personae "Buhari" |
Atouke:APC still controls 2 out of the 11 ss/se states after May 29, there is a greater chance, it will grow stronger than weaker in the two regions. |
I thought Imo state is also an oil producing state. |
Abeg, underage voter is overrated joor. of the 120,000 polling units in Nigeria, there are like 5,000 polling units in the whole of Kano. For projections that are not conservative, let us assume there are 20 underage voters in each polling unit. 20 * 5,000 = 100,000 voters. If there are roughly 20 underage votes in each polling unit, it will be a very unsavory sight, as international observers will easily spot it. In Kano, it was 1.9 million votes to GEJ 200,000+. We dont know, who the underage voter voted for, we dont know if the underage voter voted properly as there are increased chances (s)he wont vote properly leading to void votes. The kind of votes stealing that would be achieved across the whole of the LGAs in Kano will be achived in one LGA in Rivers state. |
Pdizzle:the elite had better speak up as loudly as possible, the people of ekiti state will all be painted with the same brush. |
I have it on good authority that the newest set of assembly members handpicked by fayose for the next dispensation are worse than these ones paraded, he intentionally picked dredges of the society and idiots so as to ensure he could manipulate them fully. |
cyril83:gentlemans of nairaland, dey deceive yourself dia o. that man is a disgrace to fountain of knowledge ekiti state |

CityNG:you will do well not to quote me again, I can't operate in your distorted wavelength. |
CityNG:. there is no point discussing with you, I can see frustration written all over this post , you have failed to address ur gaffe when I called you out in your ignorance, but prefer to curse everything in sight like a specie of failed civilisation. my sympathies are with you. |
CityNG:You will do well to avoid going the condescending way, it is repugnant. It is very easy to sit down in a country with structures and systems developed over the years and begin to rubbish and castigate administrators in a place like Oyo state, and then think everyone in there are idiiots. |
CityNG:I have added an industry he commissioned above. Where you are based could matter a bit , i have listed several industries that came to Ibadan, i am aware he was in partnership with the BOI (Bank of Industry) through a joint fund, i think 500million from each side to assist Medium scale enterprises to expand their bussinesses, and those are in hundreds....... Sometimes we assume we know, until we probe further to discover we know less |
CityNG:Are you based in Ibadan ? No industry came to ibadan during his tenure is entirely wrong, you are not speaking on fact, but supposed knowledge. Abiola Ajimobi, governor of Oyo state, has inaugurated the Rom Oil Mills Limited, a subsidiary company of Flour Mills of Nigeria Plc. The oil refinery and margarine company, which is the biggest in Sub-Saharan Africa, is located in Ibadan, the capital of the state. The governor pledged that his administration would do all within its powers to ensure that the state is the preferred destination of investors in Nigeria. Rom Oil is expected to refine crude palm kernel oil, crude palm oil and crude soybean oil into refined oil and distilled fatty acids. Speaking at the ceremony, Ajimobi said the effect of the employment generation that the company would give the people of the state was his own idea of stomach infrastructure. “This indeed is our idea of the so-called stomach infrastructure. We thank the management of the company for their implicit trust and confidence in our state. You have indeed vindicated our stance,” he said. “The cumulative effects of his administration’s developmental drive and consequent influx of investors into our state would result in employment generation and empowerment of the people. “It would positively impact millions of our people, as it is the best and most dignifying stomach infrastructure ever.” Ajimobi described the establishment of the firm, a-400-metric-tonnes-per-day universal refinery, as another testimony to his administration’s leadership and “investors-baiting” policies. He described the development as the dividends of the peaceful atmosphere which his administration brought back to the state at its inception. “If you add the largest Shoprite outlet in West Africa that has been recently sited in our state, you will understand how a secure and peaceful atmosphere, as well as an environmentally-conducive state, is essential for employment-generation and indeed the economic development of the people,” he said. “Add all these to the rebirth of night life in the capital city, as manifest in the many hospitality industries that have sprung up in the nooks and crannies of Oyo state, you will realise why development experts say that peace and security are the foundation of any society.” Speaking at the occasion, Akinwumi Adesina, minister of agriculture, commended the Ajimobi administration, saying the governor had done a lot to help farmers in the state. Adesina said that the federal government had distributed 351,000 high-quality palm seedlings to farmers in the state, thanking the governor for ensuring that the seedlings got to the end users.Additionally, Oriental Foods will be opening next month , Karma also in the next 3 months or thereabout, all these are at the outskirts of Ibadan In Oluyole LGA, several quarry minimg industries have opened along this axis, there are others springing along the Podo axis, like Foam making industries, Agro procesing industries ,e.t.c I have a relatively holistic picture of his administration, and i can tell you he is a sharp departure from the rest contending against him. |
Ajimobi is an average performer, and the op is spot on about the type of people who voted him in, luckily for Ajimobi, Oyo state also has lots of middle class relatively than a place like ekiti state, the assessment of good governance by these set of people are more holistic and long term effect in nature, while the low income earners want a short term or instant gratification and cant really blend with the fast need for a road expansion project, when such money can be channeled to stomach infrastructure projects, the middle class identifies with such projects and appreciates it. If Ekiti state had a percentage rate of middle class voters Oyo state had, Fayemi would still have been governor. The choice of picking from the top 5 bunch was easy, IMO, i ranked like this 1.seyi makinde 2. Ajimobi 3. Ladoja 4. Folarin 5. Akala. Seyi makinde was an impractical candidate, the odds are stacked against him , so, it was easy to struck him out, and stick with Ajimobi . |
jethro2:But the other contestants showed no signs they would be better, they were all familiar terrain excluding Makinde. If there are complaints of these guy about the educational sector, there is a very greater likelihood he inherited the rot from his immediate predecessor Akala, the same man contesting again When i hear complaints about salaries and pensions unpaid, i ask if his other old horse trying to come back will do any better under the current situation, Is it the same Akala who could not pay 11,500 minimum wage to civil servants? For Goodness sake this man monthly wage bill has increased from 3billion naira monthly he inherited from Akala to 5 billion naira monthly, a whopping 2 billion naira, and the FG allocation from Abuja has dropped from roughly 4 billion naira monthly to 3 billion naira monthly, it is no brainer he will have problems paying salaries. Most of our Governors are lazy to think outside the box in increasing the IGR of the state, or do not have the political will power to do such. Akala or Ladoja would have fumbled too, trust me, it might have been worse sef. |
It is Possible that majority are not happy, like i said after the primaries of the parties, Ajimobi's enemies were scatttered in 4 cardinal points, and he was going to win with simple majority. I predicted 38-40% of votes for him, and i don't think i was that much off the mark. If the election had occured before the presidential election, Ladoja would have given him a closer fight, and who knows maybe win sef, but in this one , the margin was over 75,000. That population will fill up Abuja National stadium sitting stands, and there would be 30,000 others still left ouside. |
chi4ik4:those two LGA are APC strongholds from what i gather, and it seems the APC candidate is from Jos North sef. The chances of cancelling a 20,000 deficit is high |
It is really worse for PDP than i thought. PDP will lose at least two more states next year, Ondo and Kogi .By the end of next year, it might only be governing just 9 states out of a total of 36 states. |
SaiBuharii:That ochendo victory surprises me, judging by the general consensus of abians and ibos online, one will doubt if he will get 20% of votes in Abia, but he was declared winner in an election, for him to be rigged at all, he must have provided a relatively fair performance, no one will dare rig a candidate with less than 20% of total votes. |
it would av been great disservice to all Lagos APC if PDP had won, they had laboured hard in this past years under the PDP led fg to get results for Lagos., now ambode must now perform better than fashola, I expect that money owed the state by fg will be remitted (50billion naira), that when paid will foot half of the bill for the 4th mainland bridge. Lagos now has a better chance to be awarded a special status as the former capital, which means increased allocation. Lagos state might also get funding support for its light railway project. the 14years Lagos state development plan (2012-2025) will not be discarded, unlike if PDP had come in |
This defeat for PDP is becoming too crushing for my liking , i would have hoped Ribadu won under PDP. |
