he decamped to PDP when he was on the verge of glory with APC. Ribadu would have been Governor elect under APC., but......... Defeat at the edge of breakthrough will not be ours o...... |

But, politicians can be idiots sha, could he have believed that APGA could have won in Zamfara? May be he did that to save face of loosing in his ward. |
like a 100,000 votes lead so far. |
gbosaa:Like i said, you can deny for all you care, personal survey revealed it is one way for Ibos in Lagos, pdp at presidential and gubernatorial. may be 1 out of 10 think otherwise. Forget about nairaland, views and opinions from social media are not always too far from the field, at real life, it was not different, i know, i wont go into details as to why i know. |
gbosaa:yes, DAT is more of the scenario, ibo's came with bloc votes to prove a worthless point, but Yoruba's in their typical liberal mindedness choose to vote for PDP, there was no bloc votes by Yoruba's in Lagos, my uncle who voted yesterday in lag cast his vote for PDP in presidential and gubernatorial. I make bold to say roughly 90% of IBO voters in Lagos went one way, the PDP way, you can deny this for all you care. |
Cyborg01:you are funny o, you called him a miser in ur earlier post, and you also claim he has wasted lot of Oyo resources. I appreciate the fact that you stated you don't like the man, but I always advise people not to make decisions on basis of emotions, there is a greater chance of making wrong decisions when emotional decision are made. |
Adegbodolu1:Oba of Isolo is PDP. His son Agbabiaka has contested twice. Make no mistake PDP victory is not only made by Igbo kins, yorubas also voted for PDP to win. |
Cyborg01:I dont know about his manifesto, who knows maybe he didnt achieve up to 10% sef. I only gave a comparative analysis of the man, and his other contestants, and trying to put things in perspective. |
Ajimobi is the best governor Oyo state has had in the last 4 dispensations, what those who dislike him are looking at are his failings which every govt will have, as to Salary defaultments, it is more of a problem of his period as a result of declining allocation to states , make no mistake also his wage bill salary for civil servants has also increased drastically due to the 18,000 minimum wage and some employment of more workers. To put things in proper perspective, he inherited a monthly wage bill of less than 3 billion monthly, and it is currently close to 5 billion monthly due to the reasons i stated above, and yet allocation from FG is declining by close to 30% in the last 6 months. If an Akala or even Ladoja goes through his own scenario, it is then you will understand how well Ajimobi has managed the situation. Ajimobi failed in the educational sector IMO he deserves a knock on his head. But when it comes to all the current candidates contesting against him, the only person one can consider is Seyi Makinde, who looks sound and deep, but contesting on a weak platform and unknown political experience, all the others should not be considered. Ladoja is tired and weary, and i can bet his performance can not be anywhere near his administration in the last 10 years, i can barely hear him now anytime he speaks. The moment the big guns were scattered in 4 dimension, Ajimobi chances of re election brightened, it became close to certain after the APC tsunami 2 weeks ago. Ajimobi deserves a re election, no two ways about it. |
afijio accord 4590 lp 3743 apc 5087 from Channels correspondent at Oyo state collation centre just now. 10 LGAs released so far officially, APC in early lead. according to him |
luvcarz:Number of Local govts won can be deceiving, until we can see the margin, at the end, the overall winner might not win necessaily win the highest number of LGA. This election is amongst 3 candidates, the margin of lead really tells the story. |
Till the final vote of the last lga is added, the contest will be open, but i tip Ajimobi to be reelected. |
he was actually fighting for the 4th or 5th position, before the beginning of contest. |
Going by the results declared so far in Taraba, Nigeria might record its first elected Female Governor |

Truckpusher:Congratulations, i hope you will all digest easily in wikes belly. ![]() |
applord:Big Congratulobia with Wike as Rivers state Governor 2015-2019. . I now expect evans bipi as the new |
wow, i like dat fellow, so he finally won |
I want wike to win, the people must be thought a bitter lesson about not making emotional political decisions. ![]() 2015-2019, with wike as governor, we go see how far. |
It means no shit, Fayose and his deputy will be impeached if the 19 lawmakers wish, they have till first week of June to get the job done. The current speaker will supervise a bye election in the state. |
i expect him to win with 38-40% of votes cast today. I keep a tab on the results though |
There are only 16 lga in ekiti state, but 26 state assembly constituencies. My mind tells me that APC will pick from the 26 positions . |
I am going out for accreditation now. Ajimobi will be reelected with roughly 38-40% of votes cast today. |
phatjoe50:I know of ibo elites (orji uzor kalu) and Massob e.t.c who made such statements during the anambra ibo destitues relocation to their states debacle. Traditional titles are over a kingdom / land, so when the stool holder of such kingdom/land is told by settlers that his land is no mans land, you have desecrated his stool, and throwing insult on his forebearers. If yorubas in Onitsha begin to say Onitsha is no mans land, they are denigrating the stool of the Obi of Onitsha. Manytimes, we fail to understand action and reaction are equal but opposite. |
phatjoe50:Calling his land "no mans land". There can be no greater insult to a kings throne than to call his kingdom no mans land. |
esere826:. I have no doubt ur understanding is naive, and u will do well not to try and front grasp of d situation at hand. Nigeria is filled with many of people who think big and very fanciful ideas are solutions to our many problems. I am an advocate of common sense solutions which does not necessary come from PhD holders with multiple degrees. |
anonimi:I av no problem with imposing stiffer tariff regimes, but I have a problem with putting the cart before the horse. if you get in to your house to meet your house flooded due to a running tap you left open by a fault of yours, common sense tells me before you start draining and mopping the water, you put off the tap. only a fool will be mopping the water, while the tap is still left open. |
The north central governor is plateau state governor, Jonah Jang. |
esere826:dont get worked up dude, i only feel your thread theme is a naive opinion, no one knows everything, we all have our areas of naievity, i pointed that out to you, but you tried going the condescending away, for that you should be ashamed of yourself. In clear terms, there are several factors contributing to the high cost of doing business in Nigeria, shortage of power supply sits atop of it, other factors are multiple taxation, regulatory infractions, e.t.c, there is a direct linkage between high Cost of doing business and reduced competitiveness. Competition in manufacturing is not only internal(within the country), it is also external (outside the country), that is why there are several importers of products beseiging china, e.t.c All over the world SMEs dictate the pace of the economy and usually the largest provider of employment, they do not usually start with high profit margins, when their supposed small profit margins are eroded through high cost of production due to power supply costs, they sometimes end up running at a loss and closing up in a very short time. Many artisans abandon their productive work due to poor power supply and become motorcycle riders. Stable power supply reduces cost of business, and encourages more SMEs and multinationals, luckily cheap labour abound. There is a reason American companies prefer moving factories in to china instead of staying in America, they want to tinker and reduce cost of doing business which cheap labour in china boosters. |
esere826:see the example of naievity, I talked about. if d cost of doing business is high, how well can the factory stay competitive? in no time, whatever being produced in house will be replaced via demand by import substitutes, the coy does not stay afloat, and it sacks its workers. |
