PoliticsRe: NPA Faults Fashola’s Comment On Oshodi-apapa Expressway Snarl by emiye(m): 11:39am On Jul 25, 2014
ideology: You are entitled to your opinion,
"Apapa roads the most important road in Lagos state"

Kindly destroy the bridges linking mainland and Island, then you will understand yourself better,

Meanwhile you have not answered the argument
Was Fashola right to make that comment?
The most important road not bridge. The second most important road is the badagry road, which is originally FG road, in a state of disrepair and abandoned as usual, but the lagos state govt had no option but to start fixing it and request the Fg hand it over.

That road "pays the bill", over 2 trillion naira revenue in to FG coffers from the Apapa port within the axis, yet bad roads that causes containers from port to fall over and over again, destroying, wasting peoples time and killing many others.

Fashola was more than right to make the comment, the evil politics of abandoning opposition states with little or no federal presence must stop, and people like you who defend such rubbishh due to bigoted mind must keep shut.

To the best of my knowledge FG owes the LASG over 50 billion naira over Federal roads in Lagos state, excluding the ones yet to be verified. When i say verified, it means the state govt and federal ministry of works have quantified the works and jointly agrees the work done on the roads is worth such amount.

ideology: Am not against Fg fixing the road, neither am I against Fashola, He seems good, at least his records speak of him,

But, was he right to make such comments?
Dude, stop defending the indefensible. That road is the most important road in Lagos state, andit is FG's responsibility, failure is failure, it doesn't have a second name. When you fail with the "most important", then something is definitely wrong with you.
SportsRe: Iheanacho In Man City's Starting Line-up by emiye(m): 4:26am On Jul 25, 2014
sethken: Why wait for a year if you can tap into the budding talents such as the ones displayed by this young man. There is nothing out there that says he must play for Nigeria at the senior level despite his Nigerian citizenship. If we ignore him for too long a foreign nation may convince him to lace his boots for them. The likes of Pele and Michael Owens started very young for their respective nations. Klinsman took a 17 year old to this past world cup. His first touch was a goal that almost saw the US leveling scores with Belgium. Abedi Pele of Ghana started playing for the Ghanian national team in his final year of high school. He was 17 years old at the time. Ihenacho would have been a difference maker if he had played against France. Nigeria was one player away from winning that match. Ihenacho is like a lamp sitting on a hilltop in the dark that cannot be hidden. He will only get better. He is ones in a generation kind of player. He is in the league of the Kanu's, and the Okocha's of the world. He was clearly head above shoulders in his game last night against Kansas City FC. The commentators could not stop signing his praises. I for one was very surprised. His passes and shots on goal were superb. His goal seemed so effortless for a player of his age and maturity.
That the dude is talented is not arguable. Nigeria will tap from his talents in the u20 team, as he is a key player in that team. Iheanacho started club football for the first time in his life this year, he has a lot to learn beyond raw skills, he must prove himself via club success, a season or two club seasons that is worthwhile might be enough for him to be included in the super eagles lineup.
SportsRe: Iheanacho In Man City's Starting Line-up by emiye(m): 2:41am On Jul 25, 2014
The boy is good, nevertheless must be allowed to wait for his time. If he is hurried up before his due time, the results will be catastrophic. Even Jesus Christ waited for his time(age 30)to start his ministry, although he started showing flashes of precocity at age 12.

Kelechi's invite to the super eagles should come on the heels of validated club success, that might be at least 1 full year from now.

The precedence for such impunity has been set.

Was this deputy governor not the man who held forth for chime when he absconded from duty for almost a year?

It is now payback time for the deputy governor with impeachment. ??

486 miracle centres huh??

That should be more than 50% of all the exam centres in the state.

How many are still undiscovered? The Exam bodies (WAEC, NECO, & JAMB) must launch an investigation in to such exam racketeering. Some certificates must be recalled.

I still want to believe it is an error, may be the report meant 46

maysimsimple: Olumide Harris never made it to d super eagles. He was a member of d wombling n fumbling flying eagles team of 95. Nigeria was initially billed to host d WYC in 95 before d outbreak of meningitis, n d hosting was moved to Qatar. B4 that, we have hosted d AYC, where olumide harris , manga Muhammad , Patrick Pascal etc where in d team. D guy was shooting star player then.
I remember olumide harris, his miss in the u17 95 tourney was worse than that of yakubu in 2010 world cup, as he balloned a ball on the opponents goal line in to "safety"

FamilyRe: My Brother Or My Wife, Who Should I Pick? by emiye(m): 12:50pm On Jul 20, 2014
Maonyz: When people ask questions, it becomes clearer to me that people don't know the real meaning of marriage. People don't know how intent and high what exists between hubby and wife is.

If that friend who is confused is a chemical engineer and doesn't have a job, who will he present between himself and his brother? Himself? Or his brother?

If the answer is his brother, that means he loves his brother more than himself and should go ahead and present his brother even in this scenario but if his answer is himself, then why ask this question? What's the difference between him and his wife?

In everything a man does in life, his wife(not girlfriend, not mother, not children) comes first and same goes for women too. If people understand this. Making choices will be easier. Your wife is you and you are your wife. If you want the best for you, it means you want the best for your wife. If the choice is between you and your wife, then sacrifice for her( the bible likens your relationship with her to that of Jesus Christ and us, the church)

Again, you are doing a job of 60k? don't you think your wife needs that 600k job for you people to have a better life(please don't even mention that she will not respect you again if she earns more than you cus that's the thoughts of myopic, mediocre and inferior men)? Am sure your wife has been managing with you because 60k is small for a family man in the world today!

If your brother is the one in your shoes will he pick you or pick his wife? If after you give the job to your brother and you lose yours by chance, will your brother surely carter for your home? Will your wife ever forgive you?

Oga, please, without thinking twice, give your wife the job, let your brother understand politely that between him and your wife, the choice has been made by God Himself. Another opportunity will come for him. Thank you!

Note: you may politely talk to your wife and see if she agrees so you guys will save sth out of her salary over time to set your brother up. This isn't a condition. Pamper her to agree. Any good woman will accept to help her brother-in-law.
Your write up is the ideal thing, but unfortunately we live in a real world not an ideal world.

There is always a greater chance of a backstab from a wife (less than 10 yrs old marriage) than a blood brother he has known all his life. Divorces, separation, are becoming more prevalent in the society.

Many or most Nigerian ladies based in Nigeria find it difficult to take that mental shift that it is not a big deal if u are earning way more than your husband (supposed breadwinner) like in this case 10 times more, they misbehave in a short space of time, likewise for men, they also tend to feel threatened and suspicious of their wife., it gets worse if the wife rubs it on his face . Jobs of such nature also tend to put strain on the wife performing the supposed wifely duties.

The decision could be easier if it was between the man's sister and wife. The unemployed brother is a man still living a dependent life on the couple, and living in their home. he needs to leave the couple's home . I believe the brothers should simply agree on a sharing formula for at least 12 months. 200k every month to help the wife start a business. In a year, that is 2.4 million naira.
FamilyRe: My Brother Or My Wife, Who Should I Pick? by emiye(m): 10:52am On Jul 20, 2014
For those who recommend the wife, they could be right, but it is not straightforward because, there are lots of ladies who finds it difficult to respect their husband once they earn way more than their husband. embarassed They just cant help it, i have heard ladies tell me that severally, some will not agree until they are placed in such position, the real attitude shows. Traditionally, the man should be the main breadwinner.
FamilyRe: My Brother Or My Wife, Who Should I Pick? by emiye(m): 10:44am On Jul 20, 2014
This is difficult, if it were me, i will simply call my brother and have a long discussion with him, and tell him he will have to concede at least 1/3 of his salary for the first 12 months of employment, 1.e 200,000 monthly.. A greater part of the money will be used to empower my wife, possibly in setting up a business ( My brother will be told to mentally assume he will earn 400,000 monthly. At the end of the 12 months, My brother can give whatever voluntarily. My wife will painfully be kept out of this deal.

Caveat: For the above to be implemented, i must have assessed my brother and perceive a strong possibility he will keep to the terms of the deal.

Meanwhile Rochas Okorocha who claims to be in the opposition cannot his mouth to say anything. Even the bible said lukewarm people are of the worst kind. It is better you stand for something rather than being neither here nor there.
I remembered reading a report on nairaland which okorocha berated the president for lack of federal projects in imo, immediately after the president came to imo state for PDP rally. BUT your PDP Imo leaders told Okorocha to shut up.

Evergreen123: u must have not been to many cities outside SW to say transport system is same.
Ibadan by virtue of being old has acquired what u mentioned above and most tnz are in the capital, while in akwa ibom, there are many hotels in eket, with wonderful road network too.
Talking abt road networks, Ibadan is not even in that league of places sef.
Ibadan might be developed from your point of argument but the shanty nature underrates the place.
I wont be surprised if you start your usual tribalistic rant, i know what you are reputable of. You are a girl that will sooner or later change your ways.

The bone of contention is someone barefaced compared uyo with ibadan, that looks likes blasphemy to me.

The thread is talking abt capitals, you are talking something else undecided undecided

obeski13: It is a shame that a lot of people dont know what development is all about.how can we compare Uyo with ibadan?where is development in ibadan?is it d chaotic transport system, with very old vehicles dat ply d road that we call devt.is it d old and rustic building dat abounds or poor draining system we want to talk abt?
so before 2007, when molue was still in vogue in lagos, you would have said uyo is more developed than lagos. transport syatem is not really different from what you will find any where else, and the current govt is improving on it with mass transit buses.

Development will check out for industries, economic activities vibrancy, tertiary institutions and other academic institutions, road networks, tourist centres, hotel and hospitality industry,,.... GDP contributing stuffs,....e.t.c.

So, i think you really need to understand what development is.

nonjebose: Some comments are at best hilarious. I will only limit myself to the comparison between Ibadan and Asaba. I have lived in both cities for years, and regularly visit both till date. Ibadan is definitely more developed than Asaba from all indices. I don't pass through them,I live in both cities.
I mean, it is so ridiculous comparing ibadan to asaba.

Ibadan hosts roughly 5 million people , and spans across eleven (11) local government area. Oyo state population should be roughly 9-10million in 2014, although the 2006 census puts it at 5.6 million.

Gbawe: Did we see anything near the scale of infrastructural construction going on today in the SW during the locust years of the PDP? How come the failed PDP never attempted much that is effective yet they are now crying against Ajimobi piously? Ditto for Ogun, Osun et al.
This part of your comment is a question i ask some shallow individuals.

It is really good to criticise the governors, but the bulk of the criticisms are not in good faith
I have seen that the tone of criticism by many is to pulverise the current ones and pave way for the failed yesterdays men to take over again. That a man has disagreement with his wife does not mean you send her packing and bring in a prostitutee.

1. 10 ogun lawmakers decamp to PDP --- FALSE

2. Jimi Agbaje declares for lagos gubernatorial under PDP---- FALSE

3. Pat Utomi dumps APC to run for delta governorship race under PDP----FALSE.

So many of these PDP followers knows and like Good candidates but prefer to sacrifice them on the altar of primordial sentiments, but now the opposition is breathing down their neck, PDP is forced to restructure.

I have said it a countless time, the birth of the opposition is to the benefit of the masses
