rapheal_olami: Yes, it is all primary schools. Ƌπϑ yes it is monday to friday. Am not been political here. But I will only say what am sure of. I am in osun state for now.
my little search showed it is for (pri 1-3) a total of 155,318 pupils. It is not bad, but i have reservations about such programmes for a state like Osun

rapheal_olami: For over 2years now, osun state has been feeding †ђξ kids. With free education inclusive Ƌπϑ free uniform. (Though I don't believe in †ђξ free "unified" uniform sha). If osun of all †ђξ poor states in Nigeria can strategically do †ђξ exercise ЂƠ̴̴̴̴̴̴͡w should it be difficult for †ђξ oil regions, †ђξ high IGR states Ƌπϑ †ђξ gigantic allocation states with LOW number of kids in schools to do †ђξ same.
Ƌπϑ sincerely in osun, more pupils are now back to school than ever with better education(primary schools). Ƌπϑ †ђξ meals nice meals. I mean variety. Even what some adults Ƌπϑ kids can't eat in there various houses.

O'meal

God bless a unified Nigeria!!!
(1)I will like you to find out if this o'meal is across all the primary schools of the local govts of the state.

(2) Is it a mon-friday exercise ?

I think it is more of a propaganda machinery.

Imanuelle: only one governor is up to the task.

cc; Rochas.
how? through propaganda ?!.

What is Rochas total budget for education in a year?

All these socialist ideals are good, but are not practicable.

Nigeria's annual budget of 5 trillion naira is that of some universities in some saner climes.

167 million people no be joke.

Asked whether President Goodluck Jonathan and governors stepped down from office before the conduct of election, Mr. Mimiko kept quiet.
grin grin

But these same governors voted, how can you decide to go through the process of election theough voting, when the result does not favour you, then decides to use endorsements ?

Mimiko, should be ashamed of himself, i thought he would be smarter than this.

yobe state gov.(anpp) was absent.

of the 19 votes for amaechi, 10 came from the opposition states, 9 from pdp).
My own belief of Pdp govs that voted for amaechi, (kano, niger, kwara, rivers, adamawa, kogi, enugu, ebonyi, crossriver)
PoliticsRe: UN Urges Nigeria To Feed School Kids by emiye(m): 3:49am On May 26, 2013
It is a good idea, but for virtually all states in nigeria, it is not practicable. Any state who claims to be feeding school children is oiling a propaganda machinery, and most likely such feeding programme is haphazardly done.

If there are 500,000 school children in a state, and state govt decides to spend N100 on each child's feeding daily, 500,000 * 100= N50 million daily, as such in a month, we have N50 million * 20+ = N1 billion+ .

Spending 1 billion naira to feed school children monthly is what i will not advise any state govt to do at the moment.

What is average total revenue(Igr + allocation) in a month for most states in nigeria ? May be N5/6 billion.

The logical thing any sane govt should think is to aggresively increase its IGR, may be , just may be feeding school children can be considered

PoliticsRe: ActionAid - 80% Of Nigerians Not Living Above A-Dollar-A-Day by emiye(m): 6:25pm On May 22, 2013
mamaaustin: Are you using the salary you pay your house workers as the benchmark that is paid across Nigeria? I hope not

I know of primary school workers paid 6k per month, gardeners paid 10k and not given the opportunity to freelance, cleaners paid 13k, househelps who are given 6k per month (and that is even considered as very generous), drivers who are paid 30k and have 5 dependents, and even local government workers who earn less than 20k per month. This is the reality that surrounds me day in day out.
I have lived in Lagos, Bauchi, Osun, Plateau and Ogun state; and things like this exist in all of them.
God bless you lady.

So many educated illiterates around here, the first fact is, that a man earns more than 1 us dollar per day does not mean he lives more than 1 us dollar per day

Nigeria has a median age of 18, meaning 50% of population are below the age of 18. The bulk of age 0-17 do not work or earn a living, they are highly dependent.

2. The poor people have more fecundity rate than the rich, they give birth to more children, average of 5.

3. The lower class(poor) is growing at a much faster rate than the middle class is growing.

4. Rural poverty and urban poverty abounds.

5. For those using 110 million phone lines as a basis to dispute 80% nigs. poverty rate, less than 40 million nigerians out of 167 million nigerians own those lines.. in addition most lines cost next to nothing,(N0-N150).

6. That a man is drinking beer or palmwine like it will run out, does not mean his wife or wifes with children are living more than 1 us dollar per day, there are many irresponsible men around.

Please, we need to be more sensitive, you cant solve a problem you dont know exist, who knows, you might find yourself in a position to bring the much needed change to your locality or country.

Why would she not want to learn a skill, there is no father christmas in Lagos.

She should learn a skill by enrolling free in one of Lagos state skill acquisition centre, and then just maybe, someone will give her a N200,000 grant
PoliticsRe: Oyo, Wemabod Begin Construction Of 4,000-shop Complex In Ibadan by emiye(m): 4:24pm On May 20, 2013
The Oyo State Government has approved arrangements for the procurement of 100 mass transit buses to ease transportation problem in the state at the cost of N1,744,800,000.

A statement issued in Ibadan on Thursday by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Media, Dr. Festus Adedayo, said that the vehicles are Daewoo-model 43-seater buses to be purchased from Korea.

He said that the 100 units of 43-seater buses’ – Daewoo BF-106 – sum included the cost of the project administration, spare parts and the stay of Korean expatriates in the country for one year.

The statement also said that the state government insisted on bringing the Korean expatriates to train the state technicians so as to increase the workers in the employment of the government’s technical know-how.

According to Adedayo, the buses would be supplied in three phases of 30, 30, 40, with the first batch arriving the state in November 2012.

He explained that the project would also include training, support, design, implementation and maintenance of the project, so as to enable the state derives maximum value from the mass transit project.

The governor’s spokesman said that a workshop would be constructed and maintained by the firm for one year during which technicians and engineers of the state-owned Trans City Transport Company (TCTC) would be trained on the handling and maintenance of the buses, while parts of the vehicles would also be supplied by the company.

Adedayo, who said that some of the technicians and engineers of the state government who would work on the vehicles would also be trained in Korea, added that the procurement of the buses was part of government’s comprehensive transport policy for the state.

He said that the other aspect of the policy would involve procurement of 18-seater mini-buses and taxi cabs aimed at removing some of the rickety vehicles currently being used for commercial purposes in the state.

debosky: Please direct that advice at the governor - he is the one naming a public service Ajumose shuttle as a political gimmick.

Speaking of frivolities, it is instructive that you failed to engage with the substance of my post and instead chose to 'defend' the governor.
I could not find any substance in your post, all you had up there can be described as "much ado about nothing".
debosky: Do you have anything to say regarding the apparent lack of a coherent plan to create a long term, sustainable transportation system?

It's easy and quite commonplace to buy x number of buses and launch them with fanfare, but how does that address the transportation issues in the long term?
you can not just sit down in your closet and start blowing hot air about what you know nothing about. Apparent is not reality.
PoliticsRe: Oyo, Wemabod Begin Construction Of 4,000-shop Complex In Ibadan by emiye(m): 4:00pm On May 20, 2013
debosky: I am aware of his name, however Ajumose is not simply political coinage for the state, it is closely linked to the governor's identity.

Eko Oni Baje is not synonymous with Fashola, but rather with Lagos State. Besides, the BRT project for example was not named Eko Oni Baje, neither are other such projects being explicitly tagged in the same manner.
Stop bothering about frivolities, Eko oni baje is closely linked to Fashola's identity ! fact.

Ajumose gbogbo wa ni (it is our collective responsibility) is simply a political coinage.

Is collective responsibility not the essence of democracy?
PoliticsRe: Oyo, Wemabod Begin Construction Of 4,000-shop Complex In Ibadan by emiye(m): 3:15pm On May 20, 2013
debosky: This creation of bus services named after the governor is a particularly annoying waste of funds.

No coherent planning or vision, but mostly an attempt to give the current leader visibility. Why not embark on enduring schemes instead?
The Governors name is Abiola Ajimobi. Ajumose is simply a political coinage for the state, as we have Eko oni baje by the Fashola's administration.

debosky: We need to stop building shops, shops and more shops - there must be a better, more coherent developmental vision than merely building more shops and distributing buses every couple of years.
What if the building of shops is part of the "developmental vision?

The govt. has displaced many plying their trade at illegal places that create an eye sore to the state, and magnanimously plan for them to be relocated. The shops are not the typical run of the mill shops not planned, i have seen the one built at scout camp, challenge due to be commissioned in a forthnight and evidently it was well planned.

you are one of the biggest problems of Nigeria, your shallow mind places party ahead performance. The PDP 8 years was absolute failure in Oyo state, and a governor comes in under 2 years to bring development and the next thing you scream is PDP must take over in 2015. Are you not ashamed of yourself? You are a failure to your future generation, you hate sustainable development and belong to the wastebin.

The state of emergency is shiiiit as far as i am concerned, the questions i ask any reasonable person is.
is there a need to address the nation to deploy more troops to a warring state ? deployment of more troops is the only seemingly reasonable thing the State of emergency claim to address.

The c in c need to be sincere with himself and stop playing to the gallery.

Without trying to be negative, in an exam were 158,000 were called for test, they will hardly interview 5,000 at the end of the process, what this means is that the failure rate of applicants at the aptitude test will be over 95%.

So no need to bicker, if you are not called, simply MOVE ON, the volume of applicants invited for apt. test necessitates that qualification for interview will be highly competitive.
