Jarus: A single goal-differential win for Nigeria takes Nigeria to 6 points, +5 GD. Let's not hope against hope, Uruguay will put more than 5 past Tahiti.
It is sometimes soothing to hope against hope ! wink

texaco1: honestly speaking i dont see spain beating nigeria if and only these guys decide to play to their best, the worst that will happen will be a draw and who knows football is all about 90mins ,taihiti can decide to spring a surprise against uruguay.
our boys just need to take their chance ,relax and concentrate for 90 mins, musa needs to be sober before entering the pitch i will advice to either flog him or give him a dirty slap to ginger his brains before fielding him
Yeah !, a surprise like losing no more than 4-0. Datz all grin

The Se will do the rest in a must win battle against spain
SportsRe: Nigeria Vs Uruguay - Confederations Cup: (1 - 2) On 20th June 2013 by emiye(m): 7:32am On Jun 21, 2013
CFCfan: Yeah, that game can realistically end in just a 3-0 victory for Uruguay. The Super Eagles would need to take inspiration from Switzerland and the USA, who have beaten the Spaniards in major tournaments - 2010 world cup and 2009 Confed cup respectively.
thanks for seeing it that way, for now all pressure is on uruguay to score at least a 5 goals differential win, if the goals dont come early, the more they get jittery and frustrated.

Nigeria is capable of winning just like switzerland against spain 1:0 and U.s.A 2:0.

I must say our destiny is no more in our hands completely, but we've got a slim chance to make Africa proud
SportsRe: Nigeria Vs Uruguay - Confederations Cup: (1 - 2) On 20th June 2013 by emiye(m): 7:20am On Jun 21, 2013
Jarus: And you think Uruguay will stop at 4 against Tahiti?

Nigeria beating Spain 1-0. Well, if Nigeria could concede against supper minnows like Tahiti, Malawi, Namibia and Kenya, I don't see them maintaining clean sheet against Spain. Maybe 2-1 is a possible victory.
Well, like i said, any kind of win with a single goal differential from nig. 2-1, 3-2, 4-3,.....

For the other match, Tahiti might just pose a spoiler for uruguay, might also depend on how early uruguay starts scoring.

If Tahiti decides to attack lesser than they did against spain and nig, the loss might be reduced.
SportsRe: Nigeria Vs Uruguay - Confederations Cup: (1 - 2) On 20th June 2013 by emiye(m): 6:58am On Jun 21, 2013
Nigeria can qualify with this kind of configuration.

Nig 1 Spain 0 (Any kind of win against spain) and Uruguay 4 Tahiti 0

That is a plausible scenario. although the chances of that happening is like 20%.

Our chances of qualifying for the semis is like 20%. It is not over until it is over.

Perhaps you have'nt observed that although Musa is quick, he has no tactical intelligence? And yet he plays full 90mins (Left to me as coach, "if" I was to include musa in my team, I'd introduce him as an injection player at the end of the game *that is after he las learned to cross sensible balls*)
Or you have'nt noticed this current crop of S.E strikers are all impotent, Ujah, *Ideye*, Akpala?
Look dude, either Osaze, Martins or Uche should be called back, there should be balanced mix of experience and youth in every team, packing up a Bunch of home based youngsters who still have a lot to learn to Major competitions does not make any sense at alllll...
I.K Uche underperformed@ the AFCON competition because he was fatigued and needed to be rested, mind u he scored almost all the Goals during the qualifiers.
By the way I'd love to pair Emenike and Osaze up together
Martins was impotent agaimst kenya for 60 mins and had to be substituted, until musa saved the day with the lone goal.
My point is , it is very easy to throw around names, when a supposedly good player is not in a tournament. If musa was not in this tournament, the same people castigating him now, would be throwing his name around as one of the missing link.

The "fatigue" excuse for IK uche, i guess you created that mental excuse for him to compensate for his poor showing at AFCON.

An emotional assessment of the super eagles will not give you an objective assessment.
Keshi should not rest on his oars , if we can raise 4-5 sure forwards in the team(with at least two steady players).Ujah,Akpala and even ideye still need to be given an oppotunity. These guys you are righting off are one of the top scorers in their leagues. Ideye was the 2nd highest goal scorer in ukraine last season with 17 goals not withstanding his absence from the league during AFCON.

We will get it right, all i see is bright stars for the super eagles, i see a shining super eagle
SportsRe: Nigeria Vs Uruguay - Confederations Cup: (1 - 2) On 20th June 2013 by emiye(m): 1:47am On Jun 21, 2013
Osaze shoulg not be recalled to the team, we will get it right soon without calling the old legs.

For those shouting emenike ......., he could have flopped also in this tournament, just as IK uche was a flop in AFCON. We will get it right, very very soon, the most important hurdle for the team is to qualify for 2014, world cup, Lots and lots of friendlies using a mix of players will give us a solid team at all compartment of the game , we have guaranteed players at the defence at the moment (omeruo, oboabo, efe, echiejille), the midfield and the forward are were the real work needs to be done. Eagles will soar. Mark my word. A world class team with a bunch of early twenties guys. The super eagles destiny is so bright. If we make it to the 2014 world cup, we will be the first african team to make the semi finals .

By my calculation, they will be joined by this other 9 teams
Ethiopia, Tunisia, Ghana, Congo, Nigeria, Egypt,Algeria, Cameroon, Senegal.

Nigeria, Ghana, Cote d'ivoire, Tunisia and Algeria will be seeded .

Unseeded will be Cameroon, Congo, Ethiopia, Egypt and senegal, One of these five will be Nigeria's hurdle to Brazil 2014 world cup.

thelastPope: This lie has been debunked over and over again. I wonder why you lot keep bringing it back. It is a fat lie. even the average beggar makes at least 1000 to 2000 per day and the man, his wife and children all beg separately so the argument that the man has to feed his family is false and baseless. The whole family always works. There is no fanily where only the man works and the rest of the family wait at home for him to bring money to them.
The bolded is pure balderdash, there are many family, where only the man works !--- fact 1
Can a 2 year old child work ? How many nigerians are within the ages of 0-5 years?

thelastPope: A bag of pure water in 60 naira from the truck drivers. It contains 20 sachets. At 10 naira each, you make a profit of 140 per bag. A woman by the road side who sells 10 bags a day, makes 1400. That is not the only thing she normally sells. She also sells othe rstuff like candy, biscuits, cigarettes, etc.
That a man earns more than 1 dollar per day does not means he lives on more than one dollar per day ----fact 2

thelastPope: A dirt disposal guy, called kolekole, makes a minimum of 700 to 100 per trip. A bag of dirt is around 100 naira and the cart can tale up to 8 to 10 bags, depending on the contents. This guy can make several trips in a day. The council guys will charge him about 100 to 200 per trip so he still goes away with around 500 per trip. if he does 5 trips from morning to evening, he makes 2500.

A man doing daily labor as a bricklayer, plumber, etc collects between 1200 and 2500 a day.

All these people I mentioned are amongst the lowest earners in the society. Their families also work. They dont sit at home waiting for the man to bring money. His daugthers work as sales girls in various places. He sons work as mechanics, truck loading guys. etc. They all earn money. Sometimes, his family members earn more than him

Stop spreading these lies. There is poverty no doubt but no one lives on $1 a day.
That a man earns and lives on more than 1 dollar per day does not mean his immediate family lives on more than 1 dollar per day. ----- fact 3

There are many low income earners who feed and live large and hardly take care of their wife's and children.

thelastPope: You cant even use the almajiri as an example. The almajiri is not a regular Nigerian. They are an anomaly created from a system of feudal repression. These lies were concated by NGOs and government agencies to extort monies from international donors.
Almajiris are nigerians ----- fact 4

They constitute over 10% of the Nigerian population
PoliticsRe: Have You Ever Meet Someone That Live Below $1 Per Day? by emiye(m): 10:12pm On Jun 15, 2013
4 Play: The claim that most live on less than a dollar a day should not be seen as the income of a working adult. It is what in aggregate any living person in Nigeria lives on, from a toddler to an elderly person.

Demographically, Nigeria's population is very young with a huge chunk of the population made up of children who are not in work, at least not for a decent wage. Imagine a family of 6, mum and dad with 4 young kids. If the dad takes home 18,000 Naira and mum works part-time and takes home 9,000 Naira. Total take home pay is $29, i.e., 27,000/155. Divided over a family of 6, the family is living on less than $1 a day , $29/6.
@ op, study this post, it might change your perception.

The adults in the family depicted (hus & wife)most likely also have an aging mother or father who dont work anymore, and are largely dependent on them.

thelastPope: Most PDP govs are performing badly yet the best govs in the country since 1999 are PDP governors. Please what is the achievement of nasarawa, ogun, oyo, ekiti and osun govs again? Oh I forgot, the osun guy bought pads for students without classes and teachers, sorry. What a great achievement, lol. And the other one built a flyover bridge. Lol

Compare that pathetic list with Enugu, Rivers, Akwa ibom, Cross rivers and even ondo states and tell me again which govs are performing poorly. Lol
Of the 23 PDP governors, you could only list 5, in actual fact 4, since you borrowed one from labour party.

After Odili's disaster of 8 years, Rivers Amaechi was denied the PDP ticket by the PDP's national leadership, in 2007, PDP picked a stooge in the name of celestine omehia, Amaechi one of the few "shining" light is currently suspended by PDP. One of the reasons i gave for PDP poor showing in

Cross rivers Liyel Imoke in the last 6 years can not be any where listed as a performer, he has never been a performer either as minister of power or governor he is below average. What tangible project can he boast off.

Akwa Ibom Akpabio after 6 years is a ray of hope, even though i am aware he operates with a budget more than the budget of lagos state and 4 million people, he does not witness one-third of the challenges of lagos state, his human capital development is also a disaster.

Enugu state, in 6 years Sullivan chime is the only one i respect from the list of your performers, with the little he has, there is value for budget

Ondo state Mimiko is not in PDP yet

noblezone: Hypothesis of the APC and bad men:

Some bad men belong to a bad party called PDP:
Is it these men that made PDP bad or is it PDP that made these men bad?

Okay, move these men to APC:
will APC make these bad men to be good or will these bad men make APC to be bad?

Assumptions:
APC is very good.

Research questions on the assumptions:
Why is APC very good?
Is it because the men of APC are good?
or is it that the men of APC are bad but since they are opposing other the bad men of PDP, then bad will turn to good?
I think most PDP governors are performing poorly due to several reasons, which include,
(1) No formidable opposition within the state's governed by PDP (lackadaisical attitude to governance by governors)
(2)The quality of personalities at the party's national leadership.
(3)The primary process in imposition, selection or election usually churns out wrong gubernatorial candidates.

Sincere 9gerian: http://premiumtimesng.com/news/national/138512-mining-activities-have-created-over-1-2-million-jobs-mines-and-steel-minister.html
1.254 million jobs from 1710 quarries, 223 small scale mining operations, 195 mining leases, 2048 exploration leases.

From what period where these jobs created? it could be in the last 10, 15, 20 or 30 years. H

I think the minister is economical with the truth. He ought to have stated the range of period when the jobs were created for a critical appreciation of the volume of jobs created.

pro01: This is the part of the deceit that is most annoying. The claim that the initiative helps save costs is superficial and deceptive to put it mildly. When governments in this part of the world want to introduce even the most useless and unacceptable policies or projects, they always easily manufacture nonsensical statistics and justificstions to support their (proposed) actions. Sensible people would look beyond government-spurn claims and ask hard questions based on objective thinking.
People like you are one of the problems of this country. Arm chair critics, when you are placed to lead units of people, you fail woefully.

It is very good to ask sensible and objective questions, but it is shameful when you are not interested in seeking for the answers, simply because you have blocked your mind. Emotions cloud reasoning.

In my mind, i have asked all and more of these questions that i have seen here as fears for the project , making me try to get answers.

Osun state paid 200 million to procure the software content(intellectual property) for 56 textbooks for 150,000 tablets.

The over 8 billion cost saving is assuming a hardcopy textbook cost roughly N1,000.

1,000 * 150,000 * 56 = N8.4 billion Naira

8.4 billion naira Versus 200 million naira.

Your copy and paste job is remarkable for being silent on the key issue, what is the cost of the Opon Imo project? How can its promoters be insistent that the project saves 8.6bn Naira when they can't say how much it costs and how they arrived at the cost?
You mean the key issue in your heart, i didn't see any question like that from the dude i replied.

I am certain the cost will vary, taken in to cognizance that 100k out of 150k will be assembled in nigeria, that will surely bring down the initial cost price when compared to the wholly imported ones.

The cost for the software contents(intellectual propety) for the over 5o textbooks is 200million naira. I dont know the cost price of the imported tablets.

Mrs. Laoye-Tomori said: “We will be saving the state a lot of money because of the e-books. The average textbook costs N1,000. If we assume there are 56 textbooks in the e-library, it would cost the state N8.6 billion if we were to buy the books for 150,000 pupils. It only cost us N200 million to produce 56 core e-textbooks.
