@Emmafe, I finally got my Canadian visa stamped already. But please I’ll like to ask you something else. If I want to apply for my son (as at the time I applied last year, I haven’t given birth), so I didn’t declare him in my application. If I want to apply for Canadian tourist visa for him too, will I have to open a new and fresh application for him on ircc website or I’ll use my own page to create a new application for him. Thank you always.

Portal doesn’t determine that but I will suggest you use new portal.

The main reason for her coming is to take care of my kids while I am away for data collection for 3months (as per phd). Is this a solid reason to grant visa? I have the supporting documents to show that I will be away for about 3months.

If you’re the one sponsoring just have enough, if she’s using her account 10k cad is cool, that’s like 3.4m.

3 months is too much, state 3-4weeks, she can use decide to use 3 months when she gets to Canada.

Use the new portal.

Lastly only ircc can answer how long it will take. Some applications are still pending decision since 2021 while some that applied April 2023 have gotten a decision.

Anyone knows how soon UPS deliver passport package from VFS Abuja to Lagos? There has been no update on the tracking number since they took it from UPS on Friday. Flight is on Monday!

Here is my time line;
application date: 2nd Oct 2021
biometrics done: 5th oct 2021
biometrics updated on portal: 4th Feb 2022
BVL dropped: 18th May 2023
visa number & expiry date: 20th May 2023
PPR: not yet received
**eligibility (completed) & background check (in progress).**

However, my concern is I applied with my husband but there has been no update on his application. His eligibility has not even started. We applied to travel for vacation as a family and all our kids are American citizens so there was no need to apply for them. please has anyone experienced this and what steps did you take to rectify it?

It’s possible work is going on but not reflecting on the tracker. Send mails and Webform until there’s an update. If you can also reach out to an MP, that will be good.

yea right, it’s not easy taking one’s mind off it, I literally sleep on my mail these days crazzy 😂by my calculation this may or worst case scenario first week June, eventually we’lol get it someday but wen we don’t know it

Well the good thing is they have approved our application and they can’t keep our PPR forever….

I’m also on this forum. Most gap I’ve seen is a month or slight above a month. So let say 45days is still valid according to observation.

I submitted my passport to Vfs Abuja through UPS Courier. UPS has already confirmed that it has been delivered.

However, after 2 days , I am yet to get a tracking number or mail from Vfs.

Is this normal? Or could something be wrong?

You’ll get mails from vfs, just wait.

Yes, you can send mails and Webform. Unless it’s for emergency or medical I don’t think they care about departure date, some applicants are still waiting since 2021. Send reminder and hope for a speedy approval.

Nop, don’t make any reservations during your application. Focus on home tie, pof and outline your trip itineraries.

Na same. They changed from issuing yellow slip to a white sticker on passport data page.

Means a decision has bn made. Check your portal for the decision.

-2 duly signed consent forms.
-2 copies of passport data page
-Passport Request Letter
-Yellow/white biometric slip
-Receipt of payment of transmission fee
N9,410 (you will pay this fee if you didn't capture biometrics at Abuja VFS)
-A paper with your contact details: name, phone number, email address, home address.

I have seen this type of response before, i think on this forum also, those Nairobi Visa Officers are mercurial and temperamental, Lol, maybe you should direct it to Lagos and Abuja only.

Nairobi sent it to Lagos, I guess they’ll have something to do.

After bombarding them with mails and Webform. Nairobi replied me. At this point na to wait for them.

Egypt air doesn’t require transit visa. If you don’t have stop over in USA or two European countries, u don’t need one.

I have been given 7 days to upload the receipt.
Please is there anything I can do??

Check your mail. Vfs send Invoice cum receipt after biometrics is done. Just search for vfs on ur gmail.

You’ll need to get a job with LMIA before you convert to close work permit. LMIA is part of the document required to apply for close work permit.

If this is possible as you speak, then I don't know what I seem to be waiting for.

You can send Webform or mail n attach the new passport. It will be updated. Ircc will also ask for updated passport before issuing ppr.
