It's not a requirement if you are a graduate or your spouse is a highly qualified person. There are more exemptions but those two applied to me.

However, I still enrolled for Goethe to take at least A1. I will need it anyway...

Why do they ask you for travel insurance. I think your spouse health insurance in Germany should cover you.

It might also be because the initial travel permit might be issued for 3 months to Germany?

I sent you a pm already Ausländerbehorde asked us to bring some documents which is yet to be submitted. I already got the mail from the embassy that my verification had been completed. Just remaining to submit the documents that the foreign office requested for. I guess your spouse was asked to submit some docs too?
Please i wanna know how long it took after your spouse submitted the documents to her foreign office and when you got the visa?

I think once your spouse submits the documents, it shouldn't take more than 2-3 weeks (Depending on the office).

In our case, we actually submitted her documents before my visa interview. She emailed the Aliens office in Germany, and the lady told her to forward the documents and notify them when my verification was completed. That might be why she wasn't asked for anything after my verification and the AM came out about a week after my verification was completed.

I had my interview at the german embassy on 3-01-2018 and my investigation was Finalised on 18-01-2018. Is it possible I might receive my visa this month?
Is there any other fam reunion applicant whose visa was processed within a month?
Is this normal? I have been on fasting since 1st of Jan. Could it be the reason why they started my process quickly?

No. Your wife has to insure you with her health insurance in Germany. She will have to show them, that she is married now. They can give her a document, that confirms your insurance after your entry in Germany, called Familienversicherung.
