BlueRayDick: What u should be saying is different ethnic groups In Nigeria have their own specific areas outside their regions they prefer traveling to.
Go to places like Yauri, Zuru in Kebbi and u will practically see Osun state and Oyo State indigenes speaking Yoruba freely on the street. The same in some parts of southern Kaduna. Go to Abidjan in Ivory coast and u will see Yorubas from Ejigbo In Osun State conversing in Yoruba in large numbers like it's the official language.
There are Hausa speaking who flood Lagos and even have communities in places like Agege, Okokomaiko, Shibiri, etc. There's even Kano street In ebute mẹta Lagos mainland.
Igbo's like to travel to the north to trade and also to other parts of south to trade. They also travel abroad to Asian countries like China, India, Malaysia etc.
No be must say Yorubas must flood the east before u believe they travel oustide their region. U can.oy speak of what u know about, stop generalising and making it look like Ur own point of view is the S.I unit of judging a whole tribe Lol, bro calm down. I am speaking for myself already and what i said is my view. It doesn't mean it is yours. You also say yours the way you view it and the viewers will compare, sieve, pick and learn from it. That is how discussions go. Why i agree with your points, i will add that most yorubas even prefer traveling out to abroad because we have the believe that other nigerians are coming to Lagos for greener pasture, so literarily, it doesn't make much sense going the the other way. It is like a British coming down to hustle here why most of us are going there to hustle. So the best is for the British to go to US or Canada if they want a greener pasture. Atleast, that is the mentality Many yorubas believe rather going to other regions, it is better we go abroad reason why we full places like pecham in UK, Atlanta Georgia in US and co |

Realmrsean: Lagos that is full with agberos and touts
You have a tout like mc oloumo who controls some part of a territory and Treasury and you ask yourself if this is the city they boast of?
A state that one particular person is holding in his palms? Is that one a state?
If tilumbu can conquer Lagos and hold it in his palms, why can't the igbos conquer this Lagos too? Abi obi never conquer tilumbu for him backyard?
If obi has conquered tilumbu.. that means igbos too can conquer Lagos which they have already conquered At the bolded.......why do you want to conquer them? i guess that is what they are trying to resist. Conquering is symbolic to turning them into slaves which if true, then many will preferred to be conquered and slaved for their own than outsider. Basic human nature Tbh, the city called Lagos is at a turning point of power tussle between the indigenes and settlers. It has always been for major cities in the world. That is the major problem of many cities even from ancient times... from Damascus in syria to Jerusalem (jews and arabs), to Timbuktu in Mali(arabs/fulanis/indigenes), Luanda, Lagos etc It is the reason Peace will always be an illusion in the world...Power tussle on who to control the city. I don't know how the yoruba elites will handle this situation but if care is not taken, Fighting is inevitable. When will that be? i don't know. Maybe 5 years from now, may 50, may 100 but the possibility of Fighting on who to take control of the city is inevitable. But let us all be rest assured, this is a moving train and it will never stop. Ojo to ro pa ara Ede, o si n bo wa kan ara Oyo..........The man in Oyo should not laugh and mock the Ede man that is battling with the heavy rain and flooding that falls in Ede and washing away people and properties because sooner or later, the rain will get to him too. Today is Lagos, tomorrow will be Ph and then Warri and then Calabar, Benin, Uyo and the list continues. Like i said before, this train doesn't stop |

BlueRayDick: The bold is totally untrue! My uncle ( my father's younger brother) has been living in Port Harcourt, Rivers state since I can remember. He married an indigene in 1998 and myself and the rest of our family were there live in Port Harcourt in 1998. I watched most of the France 1998 world cup in port Harcourt.
Need I tell u that my family is a typical Yoruba family that has both Christians and Muslims in the family line. My grandma is a core Muslim but never objected to him marrying a south southerner who is a christain and even didn't have issues with my uncle when he converted to Christianity. My grandma loved her daughter-in-law like her own daughter despite not speaking same language.
Make Una stop these myopic narrative una dey drop ; it does nothing but wants to make those of us who are reasonable to want to join in the tribal rofo rofo fight una dey mong around.
FYI: My uncle still live In Rivers State till date and he owns properties there just like Igbo's, Hausas, Ibibios, Efiks etc own properties In Lagos.
Itsrm is even a Yoruba man and he lives in Rivers state as well. When i say many yorubas don't travel to other southern nigerian cities, it doesn't mean we don't. We do but our number is minute and not in a sizeable amount to be really recognised. I am yoruba too. I have worked most of my life in PH/calabar/warri area and i schooled in Oron. So the best part of my life has been outside south-west so what i said may not be totally true but large percentage of it is. I have families too who built houses in PH and co. |

Realmrsean: I don't even rate Lagos a single bit
My preferred cities in Nigeria is Abuja and akwaibom and my own Owerri here
I don't even know what people see in that Lagos sef If i am to rate in terms of cleanliness, organization, infrastructure in relation to landmass (i have to use in relation to landmass because the average yoruba will come for my head. What this means is that your development measured according to your land size. You can't regularly use lagos island to boast for the entire lagos when it is not more than 25/30% max of Lagos while others are shanties) Soin relation to your land size,i will rate this towns/cities/state accordingly - Uyo Calabar Abuja Asaba Lagos/Onitsha/Owerri/Ph/Benin/- are allin this basket. 2 of my Ogas who are oyinbos on 2 different occasions have asked me if actually Calabar is part of Nigeria. I mean different oyinbos at different times and places because they have landed in Lagos, they saw how roudy and shanty it is, they have landed in Ph and saw how our city is and then they landed in Calabar and from the airport, the organisation, cleanliness etc. They were marveled and wondered if they are still actually in Africa. Unfortunately, Calabar is deteriorating gradually now. Was there early last year and not really happy the way it is been handled. |

obainojazz: I had to check your profile to be sure you not another moniker.
I’ve been to all South East states except Ebonyi and I can say if you not from Lagos… one shouldn’t even talk about underdevelopment in south east
You need to see heavy development in Enugu and Owerri as I was shocked when I first when there. That is totally true but the average Yoruba man won't agree with you since he believes Lagos is the eldorado of Nigeria. The London of Africa to him. And come to think of it, aside the Lagos sef which is still an eye sore anyway, other south-west towns/cities are virtually nothing to write home about. I guess that is why most of them always cling to the so called Lagos. If you go to our hinterlands - Oyo, ibadan, abeokuta, oshogbo, ogbomosho etc Damnnnnnnnnn 1. The literacy rate is very low 2. Basic social amenities/infrastructures are very poor- roads, access to good water (mostly wells in this modern day for God sake), etc. It is sickening and scary. If the Yorubas continue on this trend and not address it,in few years time they will be left behind and that is if we are not left behind already. I Love my people and i want the best for them but with what am seeing, it is really scary. The leaders and stupid Obas are not trying at all. I don't celebrate rubbish and nonsense. The so called Lagos they all even want to die on top,i don't really see anything special in it. Abi no be the Lagos we dey again? |

Then I'd have to in turn stop the allowance and turn off the light.
Good luck surviving on your own.
Like Wizkid said, call me daddy. The problem i have with my Yoruba brothers is that they hardly travel to other parts of Southern Nigeria. To them, Lagos is the all and all of Nigeria. They believe Nigeria starts and ends in Lagos. Aside Lagos, the next place the typical yoruba man thinks of relocating to is abroad. To him, no other place is better than Lagos so why should he go the other way round when those people are coming to his side. For some of us who are not homeboys (i usually use it as a name for the typical yorubas who never travelled out of South-west), we have travelled and seen other places and are marveled about what is going on over there. I schooled in Oron, so i know how developed Uyo and environment is. Have been to Calabar and environment, been to many south-south states and south-east and i can categorically tell you, the south-wet is the most backward out of the 3 souths. My brothers don't like hearing this. Some will call me omo-ale (a bastard) which is typical of them. I guess the truth hurts. I do not say this to bring them down or denigrate them rather for us to sit-up and improve. There is no point living in self-denial. Reason why i do tell them that Lagos/Tinubu/and other Lagos governors have all failed. They are serial failures. You can't be generating this huge amount of money and your city still looks like a shit-hole. If AKpabio can turn Akwa-ibom around in 8 years with the money he got which is not up to what Lagos is generating, tarred roads, built stadium, Standard hospital, now ibom-air yet lagos can float Lagos-air and many more and they think their governors are working, then something is wrong somewhere. Tbh, i only have pity for them. |

zomby: Personally, I feel that it is an insult for anyone to attempt to compare Tinubu and peter Obi, it simply doesn’t make sense.
Let us forget Peter Obi for a moment…Now, look around you and point out a single leader from the yeast that has outperformed Tinubu in any capacity. And I will ask again - between guardiola, Mourinho and juggen klop, who is the best coach? Klop with little budget and unknown players won German league many times, got to champions league final twice or 3 compared to other two coaches with moneybags. Comparing tinubu to other governors is a diservice to these governors because they never had the opportunities and money tinubu had. If you are to compare the money tinubu saw to what he should have done with that money, then he is a total failure. Believe me, success doesn't hide. If you work very well has a governor, invested in critical sectors and it is very very very visible, believe me you don't need thugs or bribing or rigging to win. Your works will speak for you and it will market you. This is a natural human thing. If you work well and beyond expectations, people will rally round you naturally and vote for you without using force. Believe me |

We choose obi but due to tribalism the South west refused and supported a man who is sick mentally and physically...national anthem was going on he wasn't Aware

Everyone should retweet and save this so that our future kids will know that at some point in the history of Nigeria we were caught in between the Devil( tinubu, atiku) and redemption( obi) But the South west spoilt dragged us back because of tribalism This Yorubas are the most educated, i don't even believe it.
