@ Honeydenz, your original post is true and not far from reality. Most of what you said is one of the reasons I advocate for quality over quantity, when it comes to starting a family.

The fewer the better, quality over quantity, are recipes for success when it comes to responsible parenting and helping your offspring succeed in life. There is no gain or benefit in having many children you cannot cater for, only pain and suffer head awaits all parties involved.

Even if you are stinkingly rich, quality over quantity is still a good policy to live by as you birth children. Don't proceed to birth a football team or half the team because you have the means, this is one way we end up with sadistic deviants in society. Because someone refused to stop after their 3rd child, the 4th, 5th or 6th child turns out to be a real nightmare to a community at large and not only the parents.
We really need to curb this population menace.
Our population is ballooning too much and I will blame most father's from the 60's to 90's for this.
I have many family members to sight as an example but will choose one now.
He is a pastor in one of the olden days generation churches earning 20k in the remote church he was posted. Wife not working because it is not allowed for pastor's wife.
Gave birth to a whole 3 children they couldn't take care of. Why will a grown man with brains do that for God sake?
My mother took the first born to nurture since they can't and another family member took the second one.
So we literally trained the first child her secondary school and now she is doing freedom as auxiliary nurse and about to go nursing school.
Lost my mum years back and the furthering of this child as been on my neck.
Literally, the father doesn't know how his child feeds, pay school fees, admission etc yet will call himself father and will want to be addressed as the bride's father on wedding day.
A child you virtually have no impact on

Is it a must to give birth in the first place? If you can't train the child?
It is really really annoying

Awww....go tell that to the Alimanjiri boys who never were taught beyond eating a square meal. The poor children were left to cater for themselves as soon as they learnt to walk! You really need to spend a few hours with them to understand their doomed struggle. The last time I was at Jigawa, I went out to buy akara and couldn't eat at all. Those almanjiri toddlers were huddled against one another in the early morning cold hoping for food. My heart had not been that broken in a long long time! By the way, they were really just toddlers o. These kids mostly grow up to be farm hands, "dandoko", street shoe makers, bokoaram, etc

Or go tell that to the children in the innermost core of villages where they never learnt beyond substitent farming. They mostly grow to inherit whatever is left and pass same on to their children. Otherwise, yours and my village will be empty by now....

Or even enter makoko abi na maroko inside Lagos slum where the children were doomed from birth. One family with 8 children they can not afford to give basic physiological needs let alone formal or informal education towards survival! They are the ones that eventually replace the agberos, touts, blue collar lowly workers, your gate keepers and household staff, etc. Their birth somehow force them into that strata forever.

By the way, I used to work at big events and I've seen first hand how the rich connect themselves. Do not be deceived just because you made it out of the chain, besides, you even still had it good. At least, you were exposed to a formal or informal education to aid your survival, a lot of others werent that lucky.
You are 100% right.
I do say if Mark Zuckerberg Facebook owner was born in iperu or ilisan or ikenne in Ogun state hawking oranges for grandma, he would never have become the owner of Facebook.

It's definitely true.

When it comes to the family making conditions dor successful children there are common things the parents do.

The main traits are the parent(s) being highly educated and in high-paying jobs. The parents have traditional family roles, with mom looking after the house and kids, and dad focused on making money. The kids in these families have strict parents that they look up to, obey, and respect greatly. Another trait that is linked to these families is experiencing hardship for many years followed by good economic conditions.
I concur 100%

Life needs to be enjoyed.
A tourist is like a woman. The more quality men she dates, the harder to impress her.
The more a man travels and sees other parts of the world, the harder it will be for his govt or politicians to satisfy him. - Odet 2023
This is the reason politicians prefer to keep the masses poor because it gives them less headache compared to a well traveled citizen.
An exposed and we'll travelled citizen is a pain in the ass. A big headache no politician wants.
Just do a 10km road for 4 years tenure while you embezzle billions and your unexposed citizens will clap for you and tell you have really worked compared to the past politician but a well traveled person will ask what is this piece of shit?

Thank God it was in the US the person made his 450k dollars and not in the UK

Uk na your mate, they no born any immigrant in the UK to make £300 k cash in even 15 years self more less 4..

Even the British prime minister earns just about 150k per year and tax is 45 percent for him . ( tax rate in the UK is 20 percent from between £12570- 50720PA, then its 40 percent tax BTW £50721- £150,000.)

So if the prime.minister of a country is been taxed of up to 50 percent and he hasn't even paid his rent, living expenses, etc where he wan save £300k from more less an immigrant with a less paying job

Like they never born that immigrant that would dream of making such big amount here in the UK.

I have never been to the US before but wages there are extremely higher than the UK albeit higher taxes but real good emphasis on high wages

Go to the website of the country's embassy you want to apply from, then read and follow their procedure. If you do it right, you might end up paying only the application fee of 60 euros.

You may spend money gathering necessary documents such as health insurance, legalisation and translation. But it's easy. To get an appointment, send an email to the embassy (I'm sure about Spain since I helped someone got a visa last month there).

At worse, you'll get a refusal, which doesn't have any fatal effect. But if you use agents, especially when you pay for them to gather documents on your behalf, you risk not only s rejection, but a ban. You'll never get a visa to visit Europe anymore.

Tell me your circumstances, and I'll diagnose yout case and calculate your chances or getting a visa, and how you should go about it.
I am planning a vacation with my wife by December and will like to visit Germany, France, Italy and Spain.
How do I go about the tourist visa without using agent.
My agent says he will do for 200k per person but will appreciate if I can do it personally for a lesser price.
Which country will be the easiest as point of entry?

This your calabar analogy, abeg break am down. Are you saying that a successful person should help someone who is hardworking (the cow) and not lazy (the horse)?

If yes, then it's true. You're right. There is this false notion that when someone is suffering, it's not their fault. That he is suffering because his brother didn't help him, or his father is a drunkard.

In many cases, lots of people are suffering due to their own fault. I know many idiots like that. I am a very empathetic person and hate seeing people suffer, which made me became a magnet for lots of people who need help.

Over the years, I've come to accept the harsh fact that some people are like stone, even if they believe they are seeds. Doesn't matter if you expose them to the brightest sun, freshwater, manure and the most fertile ground, they are loosers. They won't grow.

If you help them up, then you must keep being the foundation so they will keep staying up. If you leave, they disintegrate. Their strength is external, not internal. They are basically scum.

I know a looser with three baby mamas, smokes and do drugs, lazy and pompous to the core. I hosted this guy in my house for a year, but while I though I was helping, I didn't know I was training a snake filled with envy.

His seasonal Yahoo money was not sustainable, but he wouldnt go get a job. This was far back when I was still a student. I was doing a dirty job, struggling in a foreign land, but when I come back home, I can't sleep on my bed because this idiot brought a girl home.

Until I kicked him out. Up till now, he lives in lonely women's house. Women whom are desperate for a man. He is a leech that needs a host. If you don't know him, he will create stories that will make you pity him and help.

So that's just a good example of how a lot of idiots are the architect of their own problems. So yes you're right. You help a cow, not a horse. Cow that have sense.
You are right.
I have come to notice also that if you keep helping people, they will keep coming back again and before you know it, your reoccurent expenditure is almost up to your income and you save or do no tangible things with your money and if you go broke, they will be the first to ask - what did he used his money for? If you tell them they are the reason, they will ask how much did you give me sef? No be 5/10k? But they forgot that a 5k here, a 10k there if garthered is what makes money.
A drop of water fills a drum.
Like you said, some people are just deadweights. My immediate brother is also like your friend.
The family has tried to give him a life but it seems no matter how many times you throw a cutlass up, it will always come down flat and not pointed into the soil.
Got him a job of 50k in Nigeria in 2017 has a teacher and hostel warder - he doesn't pay house rent since he stays in hostel house and he eats hostel food. Collects money from parents weekends who come to see their kids and also collects 10k per term for after school lesson to kids whose parents are interested.
He was making money yet no savings, infact he will be calling home for more sef.
A single guy fahh.
Okay, after so much complain about Nigeria been hard and telling everyone at sight that I don't want to help him, my mum and I decided to bundle him to UAE
Got a job through an agent in Ibadan for a private driving work with a company in Dubai for 150k naira equivalent with accommodation.
My bro did this job for 5 years but no savings.
Company didn't renew his work permit and he is back to Nigeria 2 weeks ago after 5 years.
No savings, no investment, no wife, no kids, no lands, just Nothing
I mean Nothing.
A bag of liability. So unfortunate he is a man in his mid 30s. Wished he is a lady, we would have arranged a Hot thirsty simp to marry her off and take such liability off our face but unfortunately he is a man.
Where do we start from now?
My uncle that went to the same Dubai and same company a year after he left has turned his wretched family life around. Roofed his house last November.
Sent his kids to better school and moved from a face me I slap you room to a flat.
Same company ooo and this is even a married man with 3 kids compared to a hopeless single bachelor.

RomanceRe: What Are You Doing With A Man That Can't Meet Your Needs? by emmaodet: 3:46am On Mar 12, 2023
pansophist:
op, if you mean this post in the context of marriage, then of course you made a whole lot of sense. The worth of a man is in the provision, to be able to take care of his family. But if it is in the context of a mere relationship, then no, he owes you nothing. And also, feel free to assume your duty as a woman only after marriage. So no sex, kissing, and domestic duties. It's fair that way.

In my book, a vulcanizer that has his own self-contain, who earns honorably, and who can take care of a woman reasonably is responsible in my book. Lots of men can start a family, but the expectations of women these days are very high, making men feels like they are not good enough.

If you want an iPhone 14 pro that costs over a million, then a banker earning 300k monthly won't be able to afford it for you. Does it mean he is not responsible again? The issue here is the disconnect between women's desires and the reality of things.

Women's needs are not proportional to realities on the ground, but exponential. So for example, a man earning 200k naira monthly in the context of Nigeria is above average, but lots of women will consider him poor, that he is not good enough for them. This is the lack of proportionality I mean.

If both of you live modestly, his salary should be enough, and if you are not lazy, you can make it easier if you work as well. Also, the way women analyze the financial depth of a man's pocket, the man is also analyzing if this girl is a gold digger.

There is this story in the bible where Jesus appreciated the offering of a poor widow and rejected the ones by the wealthy men simply because it came from a good heart, and it was over-proportionate to what she had. She basically gave all.

In my book, a vulcanizer that gives you 50k, but earns 100k a month is a hero, compare to a yahoo thief that buys you a phone worth millions. But in this Nigeria, many girls will choose the yahoo boy over the vulcanizer.

So it is not black and white. Men are trying. The average man wants to be loved and will do everything to get that taste of a woman's warmth who loves him purely. A bit of empathy is needed for men.

For men, the love they experience dries as they grow older. So for example, a girl of 16 years will be receiving love and attention from multiple channels, such as parents, toasters, boyfriends, brothers, and so forth.

A boy of 16 probably gets love only from his parents, no girls are lining up to take him out. If he asks a girl, then love in form of cash will go from him to her. And the older he gets, his parents will become his dependents. Meanwhile, a girl will marry and her husband continues showering her love from where everybody stopped. But of course, after she has selected the best of men in all her charity givers.

But even if a man marries his choice, he still has to spend heavily. She will probably love the kids more than him, and her love is only as valid as how long he can be useful materially. This is the reality of men. Even in these circumstances, men still accepted it. The least women can do is to match their desire with the realities on the ground, this is Nigeria, not Netherlands. We are broke in this country.

Whatever.
Exactly bro.
I do say the difference between our fathers and we is that they married women who were contented with whatever their husbands bring home but now, it is not what you bring home that matters rather what the woman expects you to bring home and do.

Why should a woman be the one to meet your needs? Are women meant to til the ground? That's the man's duty from creation and even though women are now doing it. It still doesn't give a man the right to her money.
Why do you women always switch laws from one side to the other.
Pls which law should we apply now? Religious law, traditional law or government/national law?
Nitori ofin to mu eleha na lo mu elegun - the law that holds a woman in hijab/veiled/covered person na him still hold masquerade. They are both covered.
If the bible says a man must till before he can feeds his family, the same bible orders the woman to be a virgin/untouched for her man tilling the ground seriously. So that he can have a value for his efforts.
You can't start dating and banging from secondary school days to uni to nysc to working place without remembering the law all then to just remember when it is time to settle down.
The law you quoted said we should stone to death a disvirged woman.
Have we done that? Have we taken the laws into our hands? Are men not benevolent with this law?
Secondly, I don't know why women complain about working and also not wanting to contribute into the family purse while working.
Then of what use is woman empowerment? When it is not reflecting in the farm lifestyle.
Then it is better women empowerment and give women job scrapped and let men who are ready to work and not complain to feed their own women take up these jobs because to whom much is giving, much is expected.
