Dollar is dying. It remains for countries to un-peg their local currencies from the dollar and attach it to gold. And see dollars in free fall.
The US will fight tooth and nails to make sure the world continues relying on dollars.

It is the single factor that makes their economy strong.
Kill the dollar and see the US economy with Allied go down and they won’t fold their arms and see china do that.

They will fight back

A lot of countries have had the above discussion...have more children, or have more immigrants.
The problem with having more children is that the world does not need much humans to run it again.
We are gradually entering the 4th industrial revolution where robots and machines will be doing most of what we are paid to do and requires less humans to maintain these machines.
The world has 8b plus humans presently but to be honest doesn’t need more than 2b max

True talk

Jonathan crossed from Civil service to Politics and he knows what he is saying

Solutions

1:Contributory Pension Scheme handled by top Fund Managers

2: Mortgage loan of atleast 15years immediately after recruitment, so that a civil servants doesn't have to spend on house rent and still pay huge some to build house

3: Car Loan for a locally assembled Peugeot, Kia, Nissan or other durable brand with atleast 5 years repayment plan upon appointment

.
No 2 and 3 won’t work in Africa bro due to interest rate and inflation.
A mortgage taken in 2007 payable now would have rendered the money useless.
Dollar was less than 100 naira in 2007 and inflation lower - fuel price also less than 100 but now 2022 (15 years later) - dollars around 800 and fuel 185-260.
The bank issuing out the mortgage will run at big loss or the civil servants will default on payments.
What is even going to be the interest rate sef? Let’s start with that

True that...pensions are not stable.

Naturally, a big reason why is because Nigeria as a whole does not pay enough tax. In 'sane' countries, tax income is used to fund pensions (which is why Canada is taking in a lot of immigrants...they need young workers to pay tax to fund the aged people's pensions...can't do that with such a small populaiton of less than 30m despite the immigration )

Something for the next government to focus on. Pension reform in 2004 was a good thing...but it wasn't enough.
Okay, let’s look at it this way.
If immigrants were brought in to find old whites retiring pension, who will fund those who will retire 10 years from now, 20/30 years and the immigrants themselves?
I don’t think that system is sustainable in the future and will likely collapse on itself.
I think the best system is still the old african system - plan your life while young against your old age.
My grandfather was a farmer and built houses that fed him during his old age.
He had farm lands he leased since he couldn’t go to work. He never placed his old age burden on any of his children nor immigrants.
People should be allowed to live and plan towards their own old ages.

It’s not easy to be an african man.
The poverty is so high, people tend to see vacations and tourism as waste of money.

They will tell you do you know how many blocks that money will mould? Or how bags of cement it will buy? Or slates or tiles or roofing sheets.
Some of the tours I go to sef some close people do think I am wasteful meanwhile it’s part of education and exposure.

Find friends, open an account where all of you deposit an agreed amount occasionally. Ten thousand Naira each from six people every quarter will pile into something you people can travel with after four years. If e no reach to enter developed nation, una fit flex Ghana for one week come back. My problem with such a plan is greed; one idiot will want to scam everybody.
You don’t even need friends bro.
Download PiggyVest and go to their savings section.
You will see many people saving for different things - Xmas, vacation, school fees etc. join the group.
It has rules like not able to withdraw until maturity date, you click how much you want to be paying daily, weekly or monthly and either automatic deduction from your account or manually etc.
so you can plan for the vacation.
Went to Benin rep. Last month with my family and each paid 110k for a 4/5 days trip at benin. Very interesting and this is because we still used a tour/vacation company/agent.
If we are to go on our own, we won’t spend up to half of it.
What I noticed is that Nigerians don’t value vacations. They will tell you the salary is low but I tell you a person earning 100k and saving 10k per month for tours and vacation will have 120k for flexing a year.
With that he will go to Omu resort with your agents for 20k, La campaign Tropicana 20k, Olumide rock, ikongosi etc or benin rep for about 60k

Very true!
Absolute integrity is a big ask from a person who put 35 years (or more) of their life into serving an employer (government in this case) without being able to run a proper business while at it, only to end up with peanut as gratuities and pension.

We're breeding a system that inspires corrupt practices.
Life Pension is not sustainable in this present generation anywhere in the world.
Do you know how many millions of civil servants and government employees we have ? Both active and retired?
Do you know how much government will be paying on monthly basis for retirees? Do we even have the cash flow to maintain it?
The first problem I see is that the country’s population is toooooooo much.

If after 3 years you can save up 20k Canadian dollars from average jobs then bro, I think you are not doing bad.

People hardly save in nigeria even among average salary earners. It’s either they are stuck with one project or the other or buy few properties like land but people hardly have savings in nigeria.

All I see are women with too many options.

Women have options and it makes them take stupid decisions.
It is only a man that blue chip companies like chevron and Mobil are chasing regularly that will be making shakara with jobs but a man that has treaked , suffered, prayed etc just to get a single job will so so so value and hold it tight.
Mother Nature has really spoilt ladies with constant attention, gifts and money from men so they always get carried away.

I like reading ladies diary on that section and I am always surprise how ladies quickly move on after breakup.

There is always men in the corner on stby to jump into relationship with her.
Read on of recent - she claimed to be the average good Nigerian girl, beautiful (only God knows if that is true), tall and earning fine yet men have been chopping and cleaning mouth with her.
She is frustrated, depressed and always having mood swings but in all, what got my attention is the way and rate she swaps relationships.
Just within a month or 2 of breaking up with her boo, she had attended only God know how many weekend dates, tried her hands or couples of failed relationships etc.

There is always one Ugo who has always been her bestie she confides in or James that slides in her dm a long time ago and now she wants to give him a listening ear and chance or Tobi the guy staying the next street who has been a long admirer or Sola at her place of work or or or just too too too many.

For God sake, can’t you ladies just take a 3-6 months break from anything relationship after breaking up and use that moment for a self-appraisal?
From my observation, it seems relationship is the lifeline and blood of women.
They can’t just do or survive without it.
Many will live a miserable life without a man’s impact in their lives just for a year.

RomanceRe: Some Girls Are Now Shamelessly Into Hookup by emmaodet: 1:40pm On Nov 13, 2022
Gerrard59:
The issue of hook-ups is entirely on Nigerian men. Men sustain the industry, not women. These women don't fvck themselves. The average Nigerian man has an insatiable demand/urge for sex and would do anything to get it. That creates a market, and since women can be the only suppliers, they cater to this demand. If Nigerian men indulge in celibacy, the rate at which young girls resort to hook-up will drastically decline. It is simple economics. Additionally, it is biological because men have testosterone which induces the urge for sex every single day, people who cannot tame it will resort to demanding for sexual intercourse, and another set of people have to supply that demand.

Also, in poorer societies, many women resort to selling their bodies because they have fewer economic opportunities, just like men resort to stealing. In richer nations, the rate is very low. Even in prosperous patriarchal societies, women don't resort to prostitution because they have a high standard of living. For prostitution to reduce (it cannot be eradicated as the average men will ALWAYS want to fvck), Nigeria has to be rich and Nigerian men have to tame their lascivious demands.

I have written about this extensively. The blame is on Nigerian men not the women.
I see you as someone always trying to put blames on men.
In any society you find yourself, the party RECEIVING money is the one to blame, shame and embarrass because there will always be market for things.
Have you ever wondered why customs only go for smugglers and market women selling rice ? And not we the consumers?

Have you ever wondered why NDLEA goes after igbo sellers and farmers instead of the smokers?
Because there will always be market if it is encouraged.
Both are engaging in it - smugglers and consumers, Igbo traders and smokers yet one is shamed and embarrassed because if the market is not there, the consumer has no choice than to act normal.
Have you wondered why women are the ones called Asewo, prostitutes and not the men when both engage in it? Have you wondered why the prostitutes are the ones police go after and close down their hotels?
Because it is easier to destroy few smugglers/ Igbo traders and farmers/ prostitutes than putting virtually the whole country in prison for consuming foreign rice/Igbo or patronizing prostitutes
