Buddha3: Ensure you make your relatives millionaires first?
LMAO! No offence, how old are you please? Because from where I sit, you don't particularly sound like someone who has seen a decent measure of the Nigerian reality.
There are relatives who are bluntly uninterested in turning a hundred thousand into a million naira. They don't have the patience to turn over investments for small but steady profits. They are basically comfortable with the fact that you have a moderate inflow of income and can accommodate their needs and demands whenever they walk up to you. So whatever efforts you put into setting them up amounts to no good. I have two cousins I have particularly made a handful of efforts to help achieve financial stability. Today they want a hundred grand to put in a business idea they have, it's down the drain tomorrow. Next they want a keke for hire purchase purposes, funds are committed into buying it, 2 months later, keke is sold and they're back to calling your line.
Look, we were all created with opportunities, however unequal they may be. The fact you're in a place to lend a helping hand doesn't mean you should die in the process. Sometimes it's okay to shut in, close fences and tend to your own life. Everybody go dey alright finally. You are so right bro. My own immediate brother we sent to UAE to work earning 150k with accommodation can even save, no wife, no kids, no properties, no savings, no investment nor is he sending money home to any family member monthly after 5 years of working. Our uncle who is married we sent there to the same company is about finish his house in nigeria despite being a family man with more responsibilities yet they want us to raise another money to set him up in nigeria because he is coming home next month after his work visa was not renewed. I just told them to please count me out. I am not ready to be spoon-feeding a 33 years old man with no vision or ambition abeg. I have my life to live. |

A305: Funny but here are some tips.
1. Don't be swayed by this girls' redudant attitude, simply put — rejection. It's better to be rejected than to regret later not making a move.
2. Truth of the matter is: it's a game of number. The same way you approach this one unsuccessfully today, if you keep up like this every now and then, at least you would be successful with one.
3. Kit up — Dress good. Not necessarily expensive clothes but decent outfit. Along with well kept hair.
4. Conceal your intentions: The moment you stopped her; she already has an idea what you want (her pušsy), so it's up to you to come at her with an intention of being friends and not just straight up — you like her. However after friendship is established and numbers exchanged. You can now begin to signal your interest.
5. Pull back after you signal your interest following constant communication after 2 weeks or a month. If she reaches out to you. Then you in business, if she doesn't then you playing yourself, and she's just leading you on. At that point, Just quit and go hunt for another girl.
6. Learn to be slick with your tongue like lesbians and lawyers. If you don't have an idea. Go study Tbag pattern of talking to convince people in the movie prison break.
7. Never make her the focal point of your existence and treat her like your junior sister after you have gotten her.
8. Always hit on women everywhere you go just for ego boost. Be careful as some will be way out your league.
9. If you can make a girl laugh, you would have successfully completed 50% task to take her to bed, the other 50% is your verbal intercourse.
10. To override these whole step 1-9. Just make money. Get a car and appear rich, that same girl who looked down on you today would be the one to come introduce herself to you tomorrow. Na this number 10 bust my head pass. |

justmondris: It’s wise to set up somethings for your parents and siblings to be earning from than sending them money regularly. Sending them money regularly will make them to depend on you like air and that’s very bad and dangerous for your financial and marital lives.
Furthermore, if anything happens to your source of income, their lives will turn upside and none of them will be able to give you a helping hand because you gave them fish instead of teaching them how to fish. What do you want to set-up when you are just struggling too. A man earning 200/300k and you want him to set-up the family? it is not as if he is the CEO sef. Also, the hardest people to set-up are educated/graduates. The have a very big ego and very big mouth that even if you tell them what you can raise is 2m, they will ask what can that do in the present day nigeria? because they are thinking of renting a house in a decent area, buy a car, furnish apartment and see big monet to do a big biz to sustain their lifestyle while others will tell you the money is not even enough to travel out to K or US. So so big big mouth . Funny enough, it is very very very easy to support an illitrate. Some just need sewing maching with like 50k to get a shop and set-up. Overall, you won't spend more than 100k to set them up. Some just indomie and fried egg spot etc but graduates ?? i comot hand |

Treadway: More.
There has been the talk about 20b diaspora remittance inflow too. As usual, any attempt to have intellectual and rational discussions mostly fail, but I was able to PROVE and show the illogicality that this diaspora remittance is what is keeping Nigeria afloat on the thread below. They are a major part of Forex inflows for now, YES, but only amount to 4% of the value of our total productivity (GDP). Therefore the 96% is what is keeping the country afloat as against the 4%. Commonsense right? Well it flew past many heads. All info and evidence on the argument are available on pg 20-23.
https://www.nairaland.com/7447390/lonely-part-canada-no-one/21
Now, see screenshot below by a japarian erico2k2 that responded to a very intelligent lineup of points by lagblogger.
See the hypocrisy now! See the true negativity?!
The same people that called others negativist and pessimist, rubbished the efforts of the Nigerians who worked hard even in the shithole to contribute that 96% of the GDP. But when I say simple math that diaspora remittance is NOT keeping Nigeria afloat, someone like Mr Ibeokehie said I am putting fellow compatriots abroad down, imagine! For stating simple math that even a toddler understands. How 4 became major to these people and 96 became minor is a phenomenon that should be studied.
Ahibgoilandgas did justice by also giving more information about said inflow, which the tru negativists will not even consider because it would hurt their egos. I have added some too, polithiefcians send money that is part of that inflow, money laundering cartels send money to 'wash' wey dey part of that inflow (we can sha remember Invictus Obi if una no remember anyone else), yahoo boys clients wey send money na still part of that inflow, eBay writers (I used to do this) tech bros/sis and others who earn in foreign currency online, most here have NEVER considered these... But some clique in Nairaland think it is all them, and when you try to open their eyes to see, you are a negative person.
Gerrard59 how is this on the hypocrisy meter? You still think this is about trying to get a visa and failing? Or just about grown men acting like babies..
'Who are the hard-working Nigerians?' he asked. Imagine! Ask any of these Niggas to do 1m giveaway as Jeff bezos wey dem be dem no go fit ooo...lol Have been a silent reader of the argument between japarians and home based and to be honest, have learnt a lot from both side. About remittance - when they claim 20b dollars is been remitted yearly, the question is about the outflow, it cancels out the inflow. If i get 20b salary but 50b they commot for my hand, the account no balance. we received 20b for a year yet about 30b was paid through form A to UK for school fees. That is 10b shortage already and that is just school fees, what about flight, visa fees etc and BTA that is taken there and this is just UK alone not to talk of US, Canada, Australia, Germany etc So what we are even remitting abroad in a year is so staggering than, inflow becomes a chicken change. |

gforce5: Exactly. Finally, someone gets it. When I was at the Nigerian Law School, a lot of those rich ajebutter kids who studied abroad were jealous of those who had foreign passports. VERY jealous. With all their parents influence, they were stuck in Nigeria while those with British, American and Canadian passports moved back to their base when they realized that the salaries wasn't enough to sustain their lifestyle. Even now, many rich people have missed important conferences and meetings because of the limitations of the Nigerian passport. Many lawyers could not make the International Bar Conference in the States due to this very problem. Na wa ooo The way you people talk about traveling sef, i wonder who are the nigerians going to airport daily traveling out and into the country easily. As far as am concerned, provided you have above 5m in your account as a single person, traveling in and out of the country won't be an issue. The only set of people having issue traveling out or struggling with visas are economic migrants and not tourists/visit visas even study or medical. International airports are filled daily 24/7 with planes filled more than 50%. Who do you think are inside? ghosts? 85% are nigerians with nigerian passports aside foreigners. So what is the hula-balo about double passport as if you can't travel out as you wish if you have the money. Having a strong passport doesn't even guarantee travelling to many places because traveling itself is expensive. With over 40 countries nigerians can even travel to visa free with their passports, how many don visit just 10 of those countries in the last 10 years? Atleast, this are visa free countries now. Even Oyinbos with their strong passport, over 80% of them have not been to 10 countries in the pass 10 years, so what is the fuss about? |

LordAdam16: I would not quote your main details, we get quarterback FBIs for NL.
You make very valid points. And sure enough if those kids had citizenship, there'd be an added layer of security when life threw a curveball.
That said, whether you are in the 1% of the 1% or very comfortable, always plan for the worst about your kids futures and try to be involved in their big life choices by making them value your opinion strongly. Even the ones that are very brainy can make atrocious decisions.
Here's what I mean by planning for the worst. For those kids that don't study stressful or economically viable courses; try to establish the connections so someone can take them under their wings or co-create vehicles that will sustain them. This is one reason why the ultra rich establish foundations, art organizations, and stuff. They'd fix their or a friend's kid which should keep them busy and take some of the financial burden off your holdings.
HCA Healthcare co-founder Massey had just one daughter. Her career is managing the foundation he started. Miele doubles as an employment scheme for members of the two founding families--Miele and Zinkann.
Or fix them in public, civil, and supranational institutions. You have to establish the connections so if they're not economically ambitious, they'll be able to live a very comfortable life should the worst happen. All those rich kids going to Bowdoin and liberal arts colleges (aka Little Ivies) spending six figures a year (when you include tuition, rent, vacays, cars and shit). They're not going to work for Google, Goldman Sachs, or Novartis; but there'll be one state government position, ACLU or some other civic institution, or UNESCO job waiting for them. Compensation and benefits are lit. Hours and working conditions are soft.
The ones that are ambitious, you call every favor to give them the best foot forward.
As for your concern about Nigeria's future, even if it was brighter than a supernova, you need to have a contingency plan. A Western citizenship is a good contingency plan. Lawan (Senate President) and Femi (Speaker) are both dual citizens. You cannot be more Catholic than the Pope. So if our present crop of leaders got dual citizenship when the country never too spoil, e kon b now wen gasoline jor touch N400.
Convince your wife to start in earnest. It can take some time to complete the process. But you do have to assuage her concerns about the marriage. Na man no dey mind cross country go hustle. You talk to family for night, you dey ok. You know say you dey sacrifice for their comfort and future. It is very different for women. They are not biologically programmed to live unperturbed without their partner. All these women wen their husband dey offshore, frequent flyers, or deployed, na when the men show you go start dey hear dem dey hum, face go bright. E get why. You better go join the loyalty program of your fave airline and/or plan get business interests for North America.
But you can convince her, she's smart. Sacrifices have to be made for the kids. And when you have an empty nest (kids are in college), you both will have more time to yourselves.
-Lord Hmmmmmmmmm Nice write up. You can never be more catholic than the pope …….Hmmmmmmm Have been thinking of recent also to relocate my family abroad because this nigeria wey I dey see so, e no get shock absorber. If man enter tight corner lasan, nobody go help you. People hardly pull out of financial struggling in nigeria if they encounter one after years of good life. Most enter their graves faster than a thunder will do. Hmmmmmmm Really thinking |

pansophist: But I always take responsibility, so I won't blame them much, I blame our ancestors for letting this degrade this badly, and makes it harder for current and future generation to solve. The rot is too much. So all it takes is for PZ, unilever etc who have been complaining of bad power/electricity in nigeria to pack up and relocate to ghana or benin and start producing there while they distribute to us. It is far cheaper for them. They don’t need to have Unilever nigeria/ghana/Togo/benin etc and paying tax to each country monthly, bribing each countries govt. monthly or have to deal with the rigorous humans wahala of each country. Just setup a gigantic Unilever in ghana with constant light and cheaper labors, pay tax to just one country and bring the goods to others. We will wake up to see all companies adopt this same strategy and wake up to see there are no more jobs around. So we are forced to go apply in ghana with other nationalities. This causes a heavy loss of revenue to other nations (including us), loss of jobs, increase in crime rate and prostitution among many things. So the next plan is to merge as many african countries together so that movement of their goods within us will be going without hinderance or restrictions at the detriment of our govt and people. It is very long and deep bro and I can’t explain everything here |

pansophist: But I always take responsibility, so I won't blame them much, I blame our ancestors for letting this degrade this badly, and makes it harder for current and future generation to solve. The rot is too much. As I was saying about Accra - it is economic suicide. There is a reason the economy of smaller countries that signed into European Union collapsed to the benefit of Germany, France and UK. Outside these 3 countries, other countries in the union are more or less gbewudani. Reason? Because the union even though looks okay on face value and meant to provide security for the smaller countries, it killed them economically reason why the big 3 have to regularly give them money yearly to sustain simply because the reason while these other countries are suffering is because the big 3 are feeding host and sucking them dry. I have 2 captains I worked with (1 polish and 1 Croatian) and they both claimed many of their manufacturing companies, factories and businesses folded up upon signing European Union agreement and these jobs popped up especially in Germany. Reason why polish, Croatian etc always troop to Germany/UK/France to work because the agreement opens their local borders and renders their local laws to protect the local companies against foreign competitors with cheaper goods thereby killing the local companies and the present generations of the smaller countries wole up to graduate but no jobs in their countries and rather had to migrate or move to the big 3s’. Let me give you a good example- Let’s assume Nigeria signs agreement with Thailand to have open and free borders between the 2 countries. What do you think will happen to us? Many of our rice, vegetable oil , poultry etc will fold up because they won’t be able to compete with the Thailand companies. Do you know that Thailand rice won’t be more than 15k per bag if it is allowed to enter nigeria directly and not smuggled through benin rep? The cost of smuggling, bribing, high tariffs, cost of transportation into the country are the reason Thailand rice is above 30k per bag. Given an open border with no tarrif, that rice will cost about 15k while the local rice farmers won’t be able to compete favourably with them. Consumers in nigeria will be very happy with the new development and say that it is better because the local farmers with their rice, vegetable oil, chickens etc are reaping them off. So with 30k, you can stock up your house with food for the month but there is always a price to pay. The consumers children will grow and graduate but no jobs. Where are the jobs and factories to work? Thailand opening more and more bigger factories to sell to us. We will end up exporting our jobs and importing the cheap foods we consume. We can’t eat our cake and have it. |

Let me tell you one thing - the system that will be used to rule us in 50-100 years time is being designed and signed by our leaders in this present age. Why are they signing it now? Because presently it looks okay and makes sense to the eye but deep down, the underlying plan is not open nor understandable to the present generation except a handful of people. One of the systems laid down presently by the whites for their own future generations to rule and lord over our own future generations is Aftca (this is just one out of many). How does it work? The African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) is a free trade area encompassing most of Africa. It was established in 2018 by the African Continental Free Trade Agreement, which has 43 parties and another 11 signatories, making it the largest free-trade area by number of member states, after the World Trade Organization and the largest in population and geographic size, spanning 1.3 billion people across the world's second largest continent. Buhari was over-pressured to sign this in 2021. It is not a plan for today and doesn’t look harmful for today but it is a plan for the future of the west and their kids and by then, it will be so harmful to us and very hard to pull out. Any african president that doesn’t yield to the pressure to sign it will either lose the next election or coup plotted against him or won’t find his country governable and before any future presidential candidate will get the west backing to win the current president in election or win the current president party presidential candidate, he needs to agree to sign this dangerous act. To the average joe or citizen, there is nothing harmful in this agreement. Your average educated illiterates will debate and argue with you and defend it. Do I blame them ? No. It is the level of their thinking and present exposure. |

GerogeI: Are you not the dumb person. The guy obviously is looking at the actual productivity of the French economy, not the relative inflated monetary value, which is fixed by their Govt. France does not produce cocoa, coffee, bauxite or even coal. But to naive believers like you, they tell you the cocoa beans is not worth even a tenth of the process of making chocolate. Every step, they force your stoogie govts. to devaluate your currency even further for loans like Buhari just did, so cocoa beans becomes even worth less than the "thougth" of making chocolate, yet without cocoa you can't have chocolate.
Aggrarian communities trading with paper currencies is the greatest stupidity of every African country. Trade with gold and silver coins that no one can manipulate, but no, we must print money backed by nothing as Europeans do. Hmmmmmmmmmmm |

Exactly. Sometimes i do wonder why modern women are pushing themselves out of marriage with little impacts they are having in marriages. Truth be told, aside sex, a maid is more productive in the house than the madam despite maid being cheaper |

DMerciful: The biggest threat to societal values and norms are the "don't judge" gangs. They've facilitated moral decline the most! Exactly bro. Any small thing, don’t judge. This, don’t judge. That, don’t judge |
