And FBN MMF rates crashes further to 3.94%
It's expected and this is really not peculiar to FBN, it cuts across all MMFs irrespective of the fund manager. The low rate regime is more of policy induced than lack of efficiency in fund management; currently one year tenor Tbills is 2.8% and the principal underlaying assets of all MMFs is Tbills.
As always my advice is look the way of VGIF.

Hello Great Investors and happy new month.

Those Banking with GTBANK and received interest this month from their savings Account.

Did you notice any drastic reduction in interest rate?

A savings account with an opening and closing Balance of 7,500,000 and got an interest of 7,250?

what is happening?
You will get something lesser if you leave the money there this October even if you go to another bank. It's the new CBN policy. Smart investors now buy banking stocks instead of banking with the banks. If you had use that amount to buy that same GTBank shares at N25 some weeks back conservatively your fund will be 8.6m plus as at today or if you are a low risk investor and invested in VGIF at 7.5%/annum at the end of September you would have gotten N46,106.56 added to your capital. Bros make your moves call 08181057319 for more.

Doesn't MPR drop also reduces lending rates?

I won't be surprised by the profits banks will declare for FY 2020 cos deposit rates are averaging 1% p.a while lending rates are over 20% on average and up to 30% (e.g ACCESS Bank with their 2.5% per month quick loan).
Banks in Nigeria have always know how to do their thing; policy or no policy they have learnt the craft over the years. That is why as an investor it's advisable to pitch your tent with them by buying their shares with that you benefit from all their moves.

Treasury bills has always been there. The reason it looks silence or not in existence is because the rate has crashed. Currently one year tenor is around 2.8% right now. You can look the way of mutual funds especially the ones in the fixed income category. Call or chat me on 08181057319 for more.

At some point in time and considering the amount involved and the type of investor, rate alone is not what determines investment window to put your money in.

I don't think conoil is seen as penny stocks by most investors going by what is generally referred to as penny stocks in terms of share price.

Please I have a small question/problem regarding shares...
My dad and mom both bought shares 10,600units each at the rate of 33naira(about 340,000naira each) in 2007, and they've never for once checked it out and have never gotten any dividends whatsover ever since that time(2007)

I wish to pursue this, but I don't know if the money that will be realised will be worth my stress.
I've checked firstbanks online shareholders data base and both of their names are there so my fear of them being scammed back the has reduced considerably.
Moreso, They still have all the documents and certificates to back this up!
So great men and women in the house,
How much money am I looking at here, cos right now they've handed everything over to me this morning... They said I should do whatever I want to do with it

Anybody think it's worth fighting for and how muchmoney(range)am I looking at here if all goes well.
I want to take like two weeks off of work to pursue this
Don't see it as stress or fight it's a simple thing and it's worth doing. Currently FBN shares revolves round N5/share.

First step is to visit First registrars with your parents, their acceptable means of identification and their passport photographs because first registrars will not attend to third party in this regard except if they have changed their mode of operation. At the registrar's office, your parents will be given a DEMAT form and e-dividend mandate form, the mandate will be completed and returned to the registrar at the spot with that all outstanding dividend not older than 12 years will be paid to their bank account.

If your parents don't have a cscs account, they need to open one each with a stockbroking firm and the DEMAT form which will show the units of shares bought and accrued bonuses will be processed and domicile into their cscs account.

Since thy are transferring to you, it will be easy if you too open a cscs account with the same stockbroking firm and your parents will give a transfer/cross deal order and the whole units of FBN will be transferred to you and you take ownership immediately.

You already mention them, just add Afriprud to Fidelity and Ucap. base on last dividend paid you have between 11 to 17% dividend yield.

I saw a publication that United capital plc is seeking funds for N10bn unsecured bonds for 5yrs at 12.5%
Is this a good offer.
Those that know should pls advise

Cc: emmaelewunmi
Emmasoft etc
They are not seeking. It has been issued since May. opened May 4 and closed May 15. The bond just got listed for trading. To take part right now, it can only be from the floor of the NSE hence you will need a cscs account if you don't have. Going by the current rate crash, I think 12.5% will not be a bad one.

I don't mean "scam" as in fraud or MMM. I mean "scam" as in not worth it for long term investment.

PS: If anyone here knows how I can get naira as dollars in U.S. Please let me know. Thanks.

Let me save myself from the next devaluation wave ooooo
.....
Of course I understand. That is why we have different forms of investment widows. More so you are operating in different economies I guess. At this moment treasury bills is not attractive agreed but you can look the way of stocks and mutual funds that can help beat inflation at the long run. It's not compulsory you have to invest in treasury bills. This same Tbills at a time was 18% it's a matter of economic situations in the country. Even converting your naira to dollars still have some risk attached except you get it cheap. Remember in 2016 some got at 500/dollar or above they are not really smiling till now. That same 2016 some bought zenith less than 11/share and sold 23/share. So my bros look well there are options.

You completely missed the point, but i understood him clearly.

Good advice btw
I understand him and the angle he's looking at. It's that word "scam" I'm not really comfortable with because no one is tricked to invest in TBills it's a matter of choice.

Brother me and my wife were looking at this thing. Treasure bills is a scam. We no do again. I've lost like 7k dollars in treasury bills from devaluation. How is that a safe investment. I'm currently looking for how to convert my x million naira to dollars asap.
TBills is not a scam. TBills does not determine the value of dollars to naira, normally when investors use the word safe investment it's relative ie comparing TBills with other riskier investment widows like equities or other volatile instruments. TBills is just a form of investment and any investment widow is affected by the economy and policies of the government. I agreed there is devaluation but that does not make TBills a scam. Hence when it comes to investment, investors are allow to make their choices base on their objective and sometimes base on their level of financial literacy. Just as you have decided to convert your naira to dollars base on your DD, another investor may look the way of NSE and get a stock that will give dividend yield of 16% or more, yet another investor feel mutual fund investment is better than just leaving the money in the bank base on their financial literacy. of course another look at property, So there is no one cap fits all when it comes to investment. Just do what you can cope with that meets your objectives ie do proper portfolio balancing.

Please teach me how to invest into UPDC REIT. I will no more do treasury bill of 1percent
I have CSCS number with United capital plc
Tbills and UPDC REIT are different investment instruments. You can't really compare them. If you are looking for fixed income instrument I will advice you include mutual fund like VGIF with a fixed rate of 7.5%. UPDC REIT can be added as a way of diversification.
Since you are already with UCAP , you can give a mandate for them to buy as much as your financial ability can carry. Please note UPDC REIT is also price based and prices are determined by market forces as well.

I started investing in NSE may this year. I invested in few banks including Zenith.
Now it is time for interim dividend and the registrar (based on info from my broker) is saying I am not entitle to it. That it is only people that invested before May that are entitled.
Abeg make una help me:
Zenith said:
Proposed dividend =30k
Closure date: 17th of Sept 2020
Qualification date: 16th Sept 2020
Payment date: 22nd Sept 2020

Please people, am I not qualified based on info above.
Kindly advice how I can also take this up with the registrar. Because this is looking like daylight robbery to me.
Ask your broker for your purchase contract note. That is enough evidence as per the day of purchase. The Registrar also has a record of activities on your account as to when you bought or sold you can ask for a print out. Everything will be clear as to your claims and theirs.

Greetings of the morning

@ Pa Emma

@ Emmervesty and other REIT big boss/madam. Please I need clarifications on UPDC REIT:

1- How many times do they pay dividend in a year?

2- Do I need to open a dollar account for my dividend to be paid therein? (as am aware they collect rent in dollars).

3- Is it really lucrative? and at what percentage do they issue out dividend?.

Please help me out, as it's part of my due diligence too........ just a young graduate seeking to make a "name" for himself.

GOD BLESS NIGERIA.
Twice sometimes once

Dividend is paid in naira you don't need dollar account

The word lucrative is relative REIT is for slow and steady investors. Dividend is paid base on profit made in the year under consideration.

Seriously, that VGIF thing dey fear me. Their website, processes don't appear seamless to me.

Tried to fund my account using the Paystack and Interswitch option I found on the website, didn't work. Why include a payment or funding option that doesn't work?

For a financial institution, their login page looks so tacky like something done by a ₦30k per site beginner web designer. How are my sure my money is safe with you when you can't even spend money to build a good site? cry
@Grupo. Paystack and Interswitch are not owned by investment one it's a third party arrangement. If your transaction didn't go through, there could be many reasons and I'm very sure the reason is not the website. That there was a transaction that was not successful does not mean a system is not safe. More so you can as well do a bank transfer to the account provided. Perhaps you are an Info Tech Pro but I can assure you that the look of the website or login page has nothing to do with the safety of your fund. Your fears could just be imagined in reality everything is in place from experience as both account holder and a sales rep.

Sincerely, when it comes to fund management your concerns should be: is the institution regulated? who is managing the fund? is the promised returns realistic? what are the underlying assets? what is the experience of existing subscribers as per their funds? what is the content of the product's prospectus and how are they following through? Honestly website should be of less concerned and more so all operations of investment one are regulated including website if it didn't meet the industrial standard it would have been discarded long ago.. Remember all that glitters is not gold.

So my bros feel free come onboard and you will be happy you did. Please help my ministry use my link to register o smiley.
