@Eko Ile,  dayokanu and all Tinubu folower,

I am shock that you OMO ODUAS are bring this disgrace on the Yourba people all because of politics.

So Awolowo's name can now rubbished, just to please Tinubu.  lipsrsealed lipsrsealed

Apart from winning most of the SW states to ACN, what has he contributed to the Yoruba People .

Look no Youruba leader from Shoyinka to Gani(RIP) to Ajasin (RIP) will dare disrespect anybody in Awolowo's family.

If Tinubu and his bunch of followers continue this trend i bet their fall is near.

Pride goes before a fall.

emmatok I am not even suprised because it is the sort of comment I expect from you. Have these "innocent" parents forgotten that their grand child is growing in that woman. I guess they do not care and that is very typical of the wickedness that can be justified by Nigerians to "protect" themselves. Who says the woman will get cancer? Who says that something cannot even happen to their son? You people never cease to amaze me with your way of thinking. The fact if the matter is that parents are wicked and very misinformed. The man himself is a punk and to be honest it might do the girl good to just move on. I do not support abortion but I cannot judge a woman that makes that choice. It is her life and I will not be there to help her pick up the pieces.
You can have reservations because she is AS and so is your son or maybe even reservations because of moral issues but to say because her mother is sick that she is now cursed is enough to shake your head in disgust. The boy should be embarassed at his parents divorce. I personally pity any woman that will marry into that family.
I don't understand your post at all.

Are you blaming the parent for the pregnancy? I hope not.

They are not married, yet they got themselves pregnant due to their youthful whatever.

And you think the parent must marry them because of the pregnancy. undecided undecided undecided

When it comes to hereditary diseases, the parent has the right to protect their sons/daughter.

That ideology is not limited to Africa,  must rich and elitist families world wide do such things.

RoadStar:
I beg to differ. It rather indicates confusion, lack of ideology and political harlotry.
In the UK and US most states or Districts typically vote Democrat/Republican, Labour/Conservative/LibDem.

We are only 12 years into Democracy and some SW states have gone from AD - PDP - ACN
The only state which has been more stable is Lagos and has seen the most progress.
You are wrong.

There is a big difference between people who know how to choose their leaders, and the people who don't know.

Yoruba People know how to choose and reject their leaders.

While some are stuck with the same set of leaders all their lives.

For example OYO State is yet to get a two term governor for the past 12 years.

Now that is the type of democracy we need.

Ability to change your leaders when they mess up.

TO THOSE TINUBU WORSHIPERS. huh huh huh

I will like you to know that the YORUBA PEOPLE are the most sophisticated electorate in Nigeria as at  today.

Remember it was AD then PDP now it is the ACN, it is not about OBJ  or Tinubu.

It about the YORUBA PEOPLE. Tinubu and ACN should be grateful to them.

I can see some people here jumping to conclusion by castigating the innocent parent.

Any reasonable parent will always look out for thier children and not allow thme jump blindly into any relationship.

It is easy to claim love when you start a relatioship, but when you start treating sickness, paying the bills for the next 30 years that love will disappear!!! undecided

This is the main reason why some religious organisations insist on medical test/examination before wedding their members.

@ post

Tell your friend to go for medicals, to confirm if that cancer is hereditary,if she is going to inherit it or not  .

Then she can confront her Bf with the test result.

That decisions is left  to her and not NL.

I am not campaigning for anyone I am only saying if Mr President is thinking of injecting new bloods into the system somebody who has ample experience in a particular Government department would be a starting point , that would be a good asset worth considering.

And secondly it looks like you are new on NL, if you know me well(I enjoy writing, and also enjoy controversy).  I wrote on why Saraki would be a good President for Nigeria, 2 weeks later he threw his cap in the ring, I wrote nice things on the virtue of Buhari, 3 weeks later “ BB” wild-fire gained momentum and became a “catch phrase” I wrote on how Tura Yardua was holding the nation to ransom and how we are being Governed by a Dead man, 4 weeks after the National Assembly woke up from their slumber, I wrote on some other controversial individuals that many people do not like, like Akala, OGD,  General Dambaza, Dangote for Governor and so many Nigerian heavy weights if I collect money from these people I would probably be a billionaire by now, but I am still in England doing my own shiiit.

The bottom-line is I am independent thinker, and thinkers with their pens can change and chart new courses for nations, that alone would give me enough gratification than collecting money from people to write like our now famous Mr Omatsheye. grin

Politics › Re: To Save Nigeria: The Revolutionary Coup And The Civil War by emmatok(m): 12:05am On Jun 13, 2011
CONCLUSION: The Igbos should understand that the crisis facing the South today was directly or remotely caused by them. But because their leaders had not been sincere to them, they have continuously propagated the lie that the West is responsible for their problem. A few facts should illuminate this:

In 1957, the North threatened to secede if independence was granted to Nigeria because they were not ready. Zik, was supposed to have reached an understanding with Awo to let the North go. But to Awo’s consternation, Zik formed an alliance with the North which succeeded in delaying independence and allowed the North to get ready.
In 1966, a group of young Igbo officers planned a coup that killed only non-Igbo politicians. Included among the politicians was Ahmadu Bello who was a god-like figure to the Northerners. Before you could say Jihad, all the Sabongaris were on fire and the pogrom that would lead to the civil war has started,
Instead of trying to seek immediate political solution to the crisis, the Igbos declared Biafra. They war lasted for 30 months. The Igbos lost everything. The Hausa-Fulani oligarchy took this defeat of Biafra as the conquest of the South. Since then, they have transformed the privilege of leadership into that of a birthright and they have used it not only to stunt the growth of the South but also to subject their people to a state of perpetual servitude and feudalistic iniquities.
Health › Re: Yam Eating Is Responsible For Multiple Births In Ekiti? by emmatok(m): 10:58pm On Jun 12, 2011
Yam is believed to be helpful to the liver and endocrine system. It regulates the female system, particularly during menstrual distress and menopause,as well as used in treating infertility. Used with chasteberry and dandelion it is an effective treatment for morning sickness[citation needed].
Usually found wild in the eastern half of North America, it is a perennial plant that is a low creeper, and occupies average to poor soils and full sun.
It has been hypothesized 1 that wild yam ( Dioscorea villosa and other Dioscorea species) possesses dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA)-like properties and acts as a precursor to human sex hormones such as estrogen and progesterone 2. Based on this proposed mechanism, extracts of the plant have been used to treat painful menstruation, hot flashes, and headaches associated with menopause[

The quality of graduates Nigerian Universities produce yearly is nothing to write home about.  How many of these lecturers understand what they teach students? You can't give what you don't have.

In my 4yrs as a Computer Science Student I never made use of any Computer in the School as there were no such facilities

In my 3rd year, a particular lecturer(BABA KENYA) told us at our first lecture in the first semester that He was very sure less than 30 percent of the class would pass his course and he was very true to his words.

Employement in Nigeria should be based solely on aptitude tests and the quality of answers graduates give during interviews.

Who says a 2.1 can't be bought in naija? I personally know someone who had a 2.1 and never wrote exams all through his 4years.
Man 2.1 cannot be bought in most Federal University in Nigeria.

Go check the statistics how many 2.1 do most of this  Federal University produce.

The Professors on the School Senate  don't just give people 2.1.

Most Dads wouold be reasonably happy with a 2.2 BUT perhaps his dad feels that he underutilised his potential.

If you are a dullard, your dad would he happy with a 2.2.  If you were a 1st class material having been through good schools and lots of family support, then parents might be disappointed.

But what he lacks in top grade, he can make up for with hard work and hussler spirit. Grade is not everything.
2 of England's richest men: Green and Bronson only had a GCSE, comparable to NECO or GCE o'level.

I narrowly missed a 1st class perhaps because of having to work to support myself (I no be one of  those ajebutta they send come study abroad), so as a mature student with responsibilities and no restriction on how many hours I could do, I worked like mad.

Lots of guys who had a 2.2 found jobs with Foreign & Commonwealth Office, MoD, DoH. The good old days in London.
That is the point i am making in bold.

If his result from 100L has been 3.0 or higher. The dad will be disappointed the son graduated with 2.2. thinking he relax on his final year.

I am not saying 2.2 is bad . But the father has s reason for showing concern.

He left the house because his father chided him.

So when a father chide his son for whatever reason the, the normal thing to do is to leave the house?

There big difference between Academic excellence and being intelligent

Intelligent is the ability to think widely, going beyond the filed of study.

Most successful businessmen and politicians are intelligent, but not sound academically.

How many Professors do you see in business or politics. Because most of them are limited to their field of study.

But many successful businessmen and politicians can argue about almost any field of study because of the level of exposure. That is were intelligent come in.

But the guys father has the right to show concern. Any father will do.

I don't know why you clowns are taking Panadol for another man's headache. Were you there when the man was paying school fees for his son?
Is the father MANDATED to pay for his son's University education?
It could well have been a contract of some sort. I pay for your education, in turn just ensure you come out with a good degree. Isn't the man allowed to feel dissapointment when his son came up short?

If the boy did not have the ability to make a 2.1, perhaps the dad would not have been bothered. But the man must have been let down by a son with potentials who failed to live up to his side of the bargain.

For the record, anyone that claims that you can only get a 2.1 by bribing lecturers is immediately identified as a mediocre student.

So it matters not if you know someone with a 3rd class who has made it in life. The bottom line is that the dad paid all school fees + housing. In return, the son underachieved academically. Why do you not expect the man to be upset?
Thank you my brother.

These childern expect the father to wecome his son home with 2.2.
