stormm:NY/NJ has the most frequent sail schedules in the whole of US and serviced by most shipping lines. The best however is NJ and if you are shipping from that area, your best bet is Grimaldi. They have the fastest sail and leave every other week. In Nigeria, they have their own terminal and its the safest RORO terminal know to me in Nigeria. I also don't think they share it with any other shipping line hence you are less likely to experience congestion if your car arrives at a time as now when congestion is setting in. They berth, discharge and leave. But you will pay a but more for all these. If you have a good agent, he will first ask you what shipping line before he quotes his price. The difference with 5 star terminal is like 30-80k depending on the car. Then if you are clearing with Telex release, then you pay 15k. 10k more than what is obtainable at 5 star terminal. As for not saying the truth, a lot is involved. If my client is not so convinced, i will tell you its possible but i will add a caveat, so u don't get to hold me responsible but your pocket. Nevertheless, i do rather lose that deal and have my peace of mind than have it, miss the date i gave you and then u start bugging the life out of me. My two pence thought!!! |

If i may ask, whats the status of that relationship? If its something that is yet to develop into a relationship, then, you go by the advices given above. Show no interest in his things, reduce communication and then whenever u meet, make it as formal as it is cordial. But pls don't be harsh or over do anything. It might back fire. But if you were already dating and some serious i love and i miss you don enter am, abeg, e go hard oo! Na there u go begin hear words like, she/he is stalking me, she/he is obsessed with me etc. U have to do it gradually. I mean withdrawal. But you just have to let the person know why you are no longer interested or why you the think the relationship can't work anymore. He may or may not understand but knowing where he stands will help him work on his psyche. If the person is crazy about you and all that. Then tactics and intelligence will help. Start by introducing cute babes of guys to him and commenting on such them when they come around. Keep your meeting to a low and reduce frequency of meeting. If una dey work for the same office, someone has to resign else, e go HARD!! Pls, no make the mistake of flaunting your new catch before the person, else WAR go dey ooh!! Be very nice to him and open a friendship outlet to him. Appeal to him if he's not understanding. When u don try all these and the person no leave you, then u can go to the extremes. Dude, I do pre-orders and if anyone tells you it will take 3 weeks to get you a car from USA, then run. On the average, it takes me 6-8weeks to get a car on pre-order depending on the Vehicle's condition If you want it in 4weeks minimum, then you have to spend more. A couple of factors contribute to thi;. The first one is price. You will hear some people saying things like, 'my colleague got his from America through his brother for 1.550m why are u charging me 1,850m?'. You forget to factor in that his could be chance buying, could be accidented and a whole lot of other factors that i may not be able to remember. If you want a car straight from a dealers shop or dealers auction, then bruv, you got to pay more. Also, setting unrealistic feature targets can be a hindrance. I have had to manage a client telling me not to get her a 2002 car with a mileage not more than 40k miles The second one is shipping. When you must have traversed the lenght and breadth of all the auctions in USA and gotten a good car for your client, you are then at the mercy of the shipping agency to get your vehicle on board. This is not much of a problem but if you are in an area in USA that has just one shipping line servicing that area, then you have issues to worry about. e.g is California. You might get the cleanest and cheapest of cars in Cali but whatever you may have saved is down with shipping. You can only do container cars in california unless you are ready to spend another $700 or more with the attendant logistics delay to truck that car to the nearest drop off zone for a RORO vessel. Another tight area is Texas with just Hoegh doing a once-per-month transit from Galveston. The best places so far to buy and ship from is New Jersey, New York, Savannah, Baltimore etc. due to the frequency of Grimaldi's transit from these areas. But the beauty of it all is that the moment u can book and get your vehicle on board, then you can easily predict when you will have the car. Hence, what i tell my clients is 3 weeks from date of vessel sail and 6-8weeks from date of payment to factor in these delays. Wharf congestion is yet another issue. Sometime last year, i did a very quick transaction that i kinda marvelled at the pace. I bought and got the vehicle on the next vessel to Tincan in a space of 24 days around November last year but spent nearly a month to get the car. Reason; by the time the vessel arrived Tincan, there was no berthing space and we had to wait for as long as God knows to get one. In the end, the car meant for the xmas holidays was only gotten in the 2nd week of January this year. Infact, If you intend buying a car this year from USA and you haven't started processes, them am sorry to say, if Grimaldi doesn't service the area you are shipping from, then you may not get that car this year. As i type with you, 5 star terminal is already congested and we get to hear this story year in year out. SO CLIENTS, the important thing is being realistic in your demands and place possibilities within reach. Anyone who says he can get you a car in even 4 weeks and he hasn't even bought the car, is saying something far from the truth. This is from personal experience as a pre-order specialist. |

I am only sympathetic to local talents who's only means of being discovered is through these Afrucan/regional competitions. . . .else, FIFA can ban us for EON years!! But as long as we keep running our government agencies like public properties, we won't make any headway!! Make these MDAs independent and ran like businesses and see how they will change overnight I can't be funding a project and you ask me not to intervene on how its activities are being conducted.
