*THE DAILY FOUNTAIN DEVOTIONAL.* CHURCH OF NIGERIA _(ANGLICAN COMMUNION)_ *DATE:* TUESDAY, 29TH OCTOBER, 2024 *THEME:* THE BATTLE IS THE LORD'S *TEXT:* 1 SAMUEL 17: 41-58 *(NKJV)* 17:41. So the Philistine came, and began drawing near to David, and the man who bore the shield [went] before him. 17:42. And when the Philistine looked about and saw David, he disdained him; for he was [only] a youth, ruddy and good-looking. 17:43. So the Philistine said to David, "[Am] I a dog, that you come to me with sticks?" And the Philistine cursed David by his gods. 17:44. And the Philistine said to David, "Come to me, and I will give your flesh to the birds of the air and the beasts of the field!" 17:45. Then David said to the Philistine, "You come to me with a sword, with a spear, and with a javelin. But I come to you in the name of the LORD of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied. 17:46. "This day the LORD will deliver you into my hand, and I will strike you and take your head from you. And this day I will give the carcasses of the camp of the Philistines to the birds of the air and the wild beasts of the earth, that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel. 17:47. "Then all this assembly shall know that the LORD does not save with sword and spear; for the battle [is] the LORD's, and He will give you into our hands." 17:48. So it was, when the Philistine arose and came and drew near to meet David, that David hastened and ran toward the army to meet the Philistine. 17:49. Then David put his hand in his bag and took out a stone; and he slung [it] and struck the Philistine in his forehead, so that the stone sank into his forehead, and he fell on his face to the earth. 17:50. So David prevailed over the Philistine with a sling and a stone, and struck the Philistine and killed him. But [there was] no sword in the hand of David. 17:51. Therefore David ran and stood over the Philistine, took his sword and drew it out of its sheath and killed him, and cut off his head with it. And when the Philistines saw that their champion was dead, they fled. 17:52. Now the men of Israel and Judah arose and shouted, and pursued the Philistines as far as the entrance of the valley and to the gates of Ekron. And the wounded of the Philistines fell along the road to Shaaraim, even as far as Gath and Ekron. 17:53. Then the children of Israel returned from chasing the Philistines, and they plundered their tents. 17:54. And David took the head of the Philistine and brought it to Jerusalem, but he put his armor in his tent. 17:55. When Saul saw David going out against the Philistine, he said to Abner, the commander of the army, "Abner, whose son [is] this youth?" And Abner said, "As your soul lives, O king, I do not know." 17:56. So the king said, "Inquire whose son this young man [is."] 17:57. Then, as David returned from the slaughter of the Philistine, Abner took him and brought him before Saul with the head of the Philistine in his hand. 17:58. And Saul said to him, "Whose son [are] you, young man?" So David answered, "[I am] the son of your servant Jesse the Bethlehemite." *MESSAGE:* When the Philistine champion approached and saw that the Israelite champion was a youth, he disdained David and cursed him by his gods. David responded that he had come in the name of the God of Israel who would grant him victory over Goliath and the Philistine army, because the battle was the Lord's. In the ensuing conflict, David launched a stone 'rocket' that hit and killed Goliath who fell down dead. At that, the Philistines fled and the men of Israel pursued and slaughtered their enemies and plundered their tents. David later went to Saul for recognition. The Christian is faced with many life battles everyday which he should confront with faith in God. Whenever you have a battle to fight, remember that the battle is the Lord's. God can use a simple stone to bring down a great giant, a rod to swallow the magical rods of the Egyptians and divide the red sea, few loaves of bread and fish to feed thousands, etc. The scriptures say that our weapons of warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds (2 Cor. 10: 4). So commit your problems to God and He will grant you victory and success today. *PRAYER:* May You fight my battles, O Lord, now and always. *Amen* *QUOTE FOR THE DAY* God Says: _"My great peace will guard your heart and your thoughts in Jesus."_ *Philippians 4: 7* |

*THE DAILY FOUNTAIN DEVOTIONAL.* CHURCH OF NIGERIA _(ANGLICAN COMMUNION)_ *DATE:* MONDAY, 28TH OCTOBER, 2024 _*{St. Simon and St. Jude, Apostles}*_ *THEME:* CHARACTERISTICS OF A DISCIPLE *TEXT:* JOHN 15: 17-27 *(NKJV)* 15:17. "These things I command you, that you love one another. 15:18. " If the world hates you, you know that it hated Me before [it hated] you. 15:19. "If you were of the world, the world would love its own. Yet because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you. 15:20. "Remember the word that I said to you, 'A servant is not greater than his master.' If they persecuted Me, they will also persecute you. If they kept My word, they will keep yours also. 15:21. "But all these things they will do to you for My name's sake, because they do not know Him who sent Me. 15:22. "If I had not come and spoken to them, they would have no sin, but now they have no excuse for their sin. 15:23. "He who hates Me hates My Father also. 15:24. "If I had not done among them the works which no one else did, they would have no sin; but now they have seen and also hated both Me and My Father. 15:25. "But [this happened] that the word might be fulfilled which is written in their law, 'They hated Me without a cause.' 15:26. " But when the Helper comes, whom I shall send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, He will testify of Me. 15:27. "And you also will bear witness, because you have been with Me from the beginning. *MESSAGE:* In our text today, one can identify some characteristics of a disciple: He loves other disciples; he is hated by the world; he is not of the world; he is not greater than his Master; he is persecuted because of Jesus and the Father; he has a helper sent by Christ from the Father; he has the Spirit of truth who testifies of Christ; he witnesses about Jesus. Many Christians claim to be disciples of Jesus but the way they live does not show these characteristics given in our text. Some Christians exhibit unforgiveness and lack of love towards other believers, family members and even colleagues. Others are ashamed to share the message of the gospel wherever they are. Some believers can even deny Jesus because of persecution, need or other reasons. However, we thank God for the Spirit of truth who is always our helper. He is the one that can enable us to do God's will (Ezek. 36: 25-27). So yield your life completely to the control of the Holy Spirit and He will transform you to be a disciple. *PRAYER:* Loving Father, I surrender all my life to the Holy Spirit today, *Amen.* *QUOTE FOR THE DAY* God Say: _"My love covers a multitude of sins."_ *1 Peter 4: 8* |
This could be an avoidable death, if many of us could have taken time including the man that embraced this technology. Do you know that it took Germany many years of experimental research before they started using this tech..they first tested it on cars that are not more than 10yrs old. Even as I write its already an obsolete innovation. You can't just use this tech if your vehicle is not specifically manufactured for it. You must know the make up of your car engine(how many litres engine and how many horse power) that can match your engine before you use the tech. So many of us have not been properly educated on this and some of this people that converts our petrol car to CNG are hiding a lot of truths from us and some are not professionals. May God help us all |

✝️📗DAILY FOUNTAIN DEVOTIONAL Date: 2024-Oct 27 ✝️ TOPIC: PUT YOUR TRUST IN GOD ✝️📖TEXT: Psalm 31: 1-24(NKJV) 31:1. To the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David. In You, O LORD, I put my trust; Let me never be ashamed; Deliver me in Your righteousness. 31:2. Bow down Your ear to me, Deliver me speedily; Be my rock of refuge, A fortress of defense to save me. 31:3. For You [are] my rock and my fortress; Therefore, for Your name's sake, Lead me and guide me. 31:4. Pull me out of the net which they have secretly laid for me, For You [are] my strength. 31:5. Into Your hand I commit my spirit; You have redeemed me, O LORD God of truth. 31:6. I have hated those who regard useless idols; But I trust in the LORD. 31:7. I will be glad and rejoice in Your mercy, For You have considered my trouble; You have known my soul in adversities, 31:8. And have not shut me up into the hand of the enemy; You have set my feet in a wide place. 31:9. Have mercy on me, O LORD, for I am in trouble; My eye wastes away with grief, [Yes,] my soul and my body! 31:10. For my life is spent with grief, And my years with sighing; My strength fails because of my iniquity, And my bones waste away. 31:11. I am a reproach among all my enemies, But especially among my neighbors, And [am] repulsive to my acquaintances; Those who see me outside flee from me. 31:12. I am forgotten like a dead man, out of mind; I am like a broken vessel. 31:13. For I hear the slander of many; Fear [is] on every side; While they take counsel together against me, They scheme to take away my life. 31:14. But as for me, I trust in You, O LORD; I say, "You [are] my God." 31:15. My times [are] in Your hand; Deliver me from the hand of my enemies, And from those who persecute me. 31:16. Make Your face shine upon Your servant; Save me for Your mercies' sake. 31:17. Do not let me be ashamed, O LORD, for I have called upon You; Let the wicked be ashamed; Let them be silent in the grave. 31:18. Let the lying lips be put to silence, Which speak insolent things proudly and contemptuously against the righteous. 31:19. Oh, how great [is] Your goodness, Which You have laid up for those who fear You, [Which] You have prepared for those who trust in You In the presence of the sons of men! 31:20. You shall hide them in the secret place of Your presence From the plots of man; You shall keep them secretly in a pavilion From the strife of tongues. 31:21. Blessed [be] the LORD, For He has shown me His marvelous kindness in a strong city! 31:22. For I said in my haste, "I am cut off from before Your eyes"; Nevertheless You heard the voice of my supplications When I cried out to You. 31:23. Oh, love the LORD, all you His saints! [For] the LORD preserves the faithful, And fully repays the proud person. 31:24. Be of good courage, And He shall strengthen your heart, All you who hope in the LORD. ✝️📜 STUDY: The Psalmist confesses that his trust is in the Lord, therefore he feels secure to expect God's deliverance, guidance, mercy and protection from his enemies. Since he puts his trust in the Lord, he commits his times in his hand. He praises the goodness of God to those who trust in him. He also blesses the Lord for his marvelous kindness shown him. He thereafter admonishes the Saints to love the Lord for his preservation. Finally, he encourages all who hope in the Lord to be of good courage for they shall be strengthened. At a time now when the world is full of crises, wars, food scarcity, insecurity, mass shootings and kidnappings, people wonder who or what to trust. Some people are seen to put their trust in their abilities, position, wealth, friends, titles or even idols. But like the Psalmist, we must put our trust in God(Psa.20: 7), for without Christ, you can do nothing (John 15: 5). His faithfulness is tried, tested and trusted for eternity. ✝️🙏 PRAYER: Father; help me to trust you more as Iknowyou more. |

*THE DAILY FOUNTAIN DEVOTIONAL.* CHURCH OF NIGERIA _(ANGLICAN COMMUNION)_ *DATE:* SATURDAY, 26TH OCTOBER, 2024 *THEME:* CONFRONT YOUR CHALLENGES *TEXT:* 1 SAMUEL 17: 1-40 *(NKJV)* 17:1. Now the Philistines gathered their armies together to battle, and were gathered together at Sochoh, which [belongs] to Judah; they encamped between Sochoh and Azekah, in Ephes Dammim. 17:2. And Saul and the men of Israel were gathered together, and they encamped in the Valley of Elah, and drew up in battle array against the Philistines. 17:3. The Philistines stood on a mountain on one side, and Israel stood on a mountain on the other side, with a valley between them. 17:4. And a champion went out from the camp of the Philistines, named Goliath, from Gath, whose height [was] six cubits and a span. 17:5. [He had] a bronze helmet on his head, and he [was] armed with a coat of mail, and the weight of the coat [was] five thousand shekels of bronze. 17:6. And [he had] bronze armor on his legs and a bronze javelin between his shoulders. 17:7. Now the staff of his spear [was] like a weaver's beam, and his iron spearhead [weighed] six hundred shekels; and a shield-bearer went before him. 17:8. Then he stood and cried out to the armies of Israel, and said to them, "Why have you come out to line up for battle? [Am] I not a Philistine, and you the servants of Saul? Choose a man for yourselves, and let him come down to me. 17:9. "If he is able to fight with me and kill me, then we will be your servants. But if I prevail against him and kill him, then you shall be our servants and serve us." 17:10. And the Philistine said, "I defy the armies of Israel this day; give me a man, that we may fight together." 17:11. When Saul and all Israel heard these words of the Philistine, they were dismayed and greatly afraid. 17:12. Now David [was] the son of that Ephrathite of Bethlehem Judah, whose name [was] Jesse, and who had eight sons. And the man was old, advanced [in years,] in the days of Saul. 17:13. The three oldest sons of Jesse had gone to follow Saul to the battle. The names of his three sons who went to the battle [were] Eliab the firstborn, next to him Abinadab, and the third Shammah. 17:14. David [was] the youngest. And the three oldest followed Saul. 17:15. But David occasionally went and returned from Saul to feed his father's sheep at Bethlehem. 17:16. And the Philistine drew near and presented himself forty days, morning and evening. 17:17. Then Jesse said to his son David, "Take now for your brothers an ephah of this dried [grain] and these ten loaves, and run to your brothers at the camp. 17:18. "And carry these ten cheeses to the captain of [their] thousand, and see how your brothers fare, and bring back news of them." 17:19. Now Saul and they and all the men of Israel [were] in the Valley of Elah, fighting with the Philistines. 17:20. So David rose early in the morning, left the sheep with a keeper, and took [the things] and went as Jesse had commanded him. And he came to the camp as the army was going out to the fight and shouting for the battle. 17:21. For Israel and the Philistines had drawn up in battle array, army against army. 17:22. And David left his supplies in the hand of the supply keeper, ran to the army, and came and greeted his brothers. 17:23. Then as he talked with them, there was the champion, the Philistine of Gath, Goliath by name, coming up from the armies of the Philistines; and he spoke according to the same words. So David heard [them.] 17:24. And all the men of Israel, when they saw the man, fled from him and were dreadfully afraid. 17:25. So the men of Israel said, "Have you seen this man who has come up? Surely he has come up to defy Israel; and it shall be [that] the man who kills him the king will enrich with great riches, will give him his daughter, and give his father's house exemption [from taxes] in Israel." 17:26. Then David spoke to the men who stood by him, saying, "What shall be done for the man who kills this Philistine and takes away the reproach from Israel? For who [is] this uncircumcised Philistine, that he should defy the armies of the living God?" 17:27. And the people answered him in this manner, saying, "So shall it be done for the man who kills him." 17:28. Now Eliab his oldest brother heard when he spoke to the men; and Eliab's anger was aroused against David, and he said, "Why did you come down here? And with whom have you left those few sheep in the wilderness? I know your pride and the insolence of your heart, for you have come down to see the battle." 17:29. And David said, "What have I done now? [Is there] not a cause?" 17:30. Then he turned from him toward another and said the same thing; and these people answered him as the first ones [did.] 17:31. Now when the words which David spoke were heard, they reported [them] to Saul; and he sent for him. 17:32. Then David said to Saul, "Let no man's heart fail because of him; your servant will go and fight with this Philistine." 17:33. And Saul said to David, "You are not able to go against this Philistine to fight with him; for you [are] a youth, and he a man of war from his youth." 17:34. But David said to Saul, "Your servant used to keep his father's sheep, and when a lion or a bear came and took a lamb out of the flock, 17:35. I went out after it and struck it, and delivered [the lamb] from its mouth; and when it arose against me, I caught [it] by its beard, and struck and killed it. 17:36. "Your servant has killed both lion and bear; and this uncircumcised Philistine will be like one of them, seeing he has defied the armies of the living God." 17:37. Moreover David said, "The LORD, who delivered me from the paw of the lion and from the paw of the bear, He will deliver me from the hand of this Philistine." And Saul said to David, "Go, and the LORD be with you!" 17:38. So Saul clothed David with his armor, and he put a bronze helmet on his head; he also clothed him with a coat of mail. 17:39. David fastened his sword to his armor and tried to walk, for he had not tested [them.] And David said to Saul, "I cannot walk with these, for I have not tested [them."] So David took them off. 17:40. Then he took his staff in his hand; and he chose for himself five smooth stones from the brook, and put them in a shepherd's bag, in a pouch which he had, and his sling was in his hand. And he drew near to the Philistine. *MESSAGE:* The 9.75ft tall Philistine giant named Goliath challenged the Israelites to provide a champion soldier to fight with him. Great fear gripped the Israelites until David arrivedand volunteered to fight the giant. David rejected wearing Saul's armour; he therefore put it off and chose three stones and a sling and went to confront Goliath. He knew that it was dangerous to begin to try out new war implements in a battle field, even if they belonged to the King. David exercised faith and proved God in the wilderness when confronted with the lion and bear as a shepherd, so it gave him confidence to confront Goliath. People who are afraid do not think or act well. It is better to trust in the Lord than to be afraid when challenged (Psalm 56: 11). Are you facing spiritual, medical, financial or emotional challenges? Focus on the Almighty God who delivered you from your past problems, for He will grant you victory. Pray and reject worry (Phil. 4: 6). Do not copy other people's methods for spiritual battles if you are not directed by God. Develop your spiritual life privately through deep study of the word, meditation, fasting and prayers so that you will have confidence to confront the enemy in the battlefield. God is looking for a David that will confront the 'Goliaths' terrifying our generation today! Can He rely on you? *PRAYER:* Dear Lord, please give me grace to confront my challenges. *Amen* *QUOTE FOR THE DAY* God Says: _"I will give you My strength and bless you with My peace."_ *Psalm 29: 11* |

THE DAILY FOUNTAIN DAILY DEVOTIONAL OF THE CHURCH OF NIGERIA (ANGLICAN COMMUNION) DATE: FRIDAY, OCTOBER 25, 2024 TOPIC: SKILLFUL IN PLAYING READ: 1 SAMUEL 16: 14-23 (NKJV) 16:14. But the Spirit of the LORD departed from Saul, and a distressing spirit from the LORD troubled him. 16:15. And Saul's servants said to him, "Surely, a distressing spirit from God is troubling you. 16:16. "Let our master now command your servants, [who are] before you, to seek out a man [who is] a skillful player on the harp; and it shall be that he will play it with his hand when the distressing spirit from God is upon you, and you shall be well." 16:17. So Saul said to his servants, "Provide me now a man who can play well, and bring [him] to me." 16:18. Then one of the servants answered and said, "Look, I have seen a son of Jesse the Bethlehemite, [who is] skillful in playing, a mighty man of valor, a man of war, prudent in speech, and a handsome person; and the LORD [is] with him." 16:19. Therefore Saul sent messengers to Jesse, and said, "Send me your son David, who [is] with the sheep." 16:20. And Jesse took a donkey [loaded with] bread, a skin of wine, and a young goat, and sent [them] by his son David to Saul. 16:21. So David came to Saul and stood before him. And he loved him greatly, and he became his armorbearer. 16:22. Then Saul sent to Jesse, saying, "Please let David stand before me, for he has found favor in my sight." 16:23. And so it was, whenever the spirit from God was upon Saul, that David would take a harp and play [it] with his hand. Then Saul would become refreshed and well, and the distressing spirit would depart from him. THE MESSAGE: All over the world, skilful football players earn salaries of millions of dollars and are highly respected. Today, we see Saul suffering from spiritual attacks such that he needed a skilful player on the harp. David as a prudent and skilful player was recommended and Saul employed him as the palace musician. Whenever Saul had spiritual attacks, David played the harp and the evil spirits would depart from Saul. The Bible says that the man who excels in his work will stand before Kings (Proverbs 22: 29). David's skilfulness in playing the harp, got him employment at the palace which he never envisaged when he was developing his skill. What gift of talent do you have? Are you neglecting or using it for His glory? David was not an evangelist but his musical skills were so anointed by God that evil spirits left King Saul when he played. You should identify and develop your gifts and talents so that you can perform in the Church and other places to God's glory. Skill is important in today's world. You never know the great doors it will open for you in future. What skill do you have? It is time to develop them under God so that healings, deliverances, comfort and upliftment will be released from heaven unto men when you exercise them. PRAYER: Lord please, help me to identify my talent or skill and use it for Your glory. |

THE DAILY FOUNTAIN DAILY DEVOTIONAL OF THE CHURCH OF NIGERIA (ANGLICAN COMMUNION) DATE: THURSDAY, OCTOBER 24, 2024 TOPIC: CHOSEN AND ANOINTED READ: 1 SAMUEL 16: 1-13 (NKJV) 16:1. Now the LORD said to Samuel, "How long will you mourn for Saul, seeing I have rejected him from reigning over Israel? Fill your horn with oil, and go; I am sending you to Jesse the Bethlehemite. For I have provided Myself a king among his sons." 16:2. And Samuel said, "How can I go? If Saul hears [it,] he will kill me." And the LORD said, "Take a heifer with you, and say, 'I have come to sacrifice to the LORD.' 16:3. "Then invite Jesse to the sacrifice, and I will show you what you shall do; you shall anoint for Me the one I name to you." 16:4. So Samuel did what the LORD said, and went to Bethlehem. And the elders of the town trembled at his coming, and said, "Do you come peaceably?" 16:5. And he said, "Peaceably; I have come to sacrifice to the LORD. Sanctify yourselves, and come with me to the sacrifice." Then he consecrated Jesse and his sons, and invited them to the sacrifice. 16:6. So it was, when they came, that he looked at Eliab and said, "Surely the LORD's anointed [is] before Him." 16:7. But the LORD said to Samuel, "Do not look at his appearance or at the height of his stature, because I have refused him. For [the] [Lord does] not [see] as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart." 16:8. So Jesse called Abinadab, and made him pass before Samuel. And he said, "Neither has the LORD chosen this one." 16:9. Then Jesse made Shammah pass by. And he said, "Neither has the LORD chosen this one." 16:10. Thus Jesse made seven of his sons pass before Samuel. And Samuel said to Jesse, "The LORD has not chosen these." 16:11. And Samuel said to Jesse, "Are all the young men here?" Then he said, "There remains yet the youngest, and there he is, keeping the sheep." And Samuel said to Jesse, "Send and bring him. For we will not sit down till he comes here." 16:12. So he sent and brought him in. Now he [was] ruddy, with bright eyes, and good-looking. And the LORD said, "Arise, anoint him; for this [is] the one!" 16:13. Then Samuel took the horn of oil and anointed him in the midst of his brothers; and the Spirit of the LORD came upon David from that day forward. So Samuel arose and went to Ramah. THE MESSAGE: The Lord had rejected Saul from reigning over Israel and instructed Samuel to go to Bethlehem and anoint one of Jesse's sons as King over Israel. Samuel complained about his fears should Saul hear of it but God gave him a strategy to adopt to allay his fears. During SamueI's interaction with Jesse and his sons, Samuel nearly thought of anointing Eliab, but God cautioned him. The available seven sons of Jesse were rejected by God for the new position. David had to be recalled from where he was keeping the sheep to the house. On his arrival, God confirmed to Samuel that he was the one chosen and he anointed him as Israel's new King, and the spirit of the Lord came upon David. When God sends you on a mission, you should not fear because He is all-knowing. 2 Timothy 1: 7 says that God did not give us a spirit of fear but of power, love and self-control. Obeying God's instruction is always the best thing to do. Samuel obeyed and being led and guided by God, he could identify and anoint the one chosen by God. As you work for God, one day, He will remember you. Just be a faithful Christian and your promotion will be announced soon! PRAYER: Dear Lord, please grant me grace to walk and work humbly with You always. |

✝️📗DAILY FOUNTAIN DEVOTIONAL || ANGLICAN COMMUNION Date: 2024-Oct 23 ✝️ TOPIC: FINISHING THE UNFINISHED BUSINESS ✝️📖 TEXT: 1 Samuel 15: 10-35 (NKJV) 15:10. Now the word of the LORD came to Samuel, saying, 15:11. "I greatly regret that I have set up Saul [as] king, for he has turned back from following Me, and has not performed My commandments." And it grieved Samuel, and he cried out to the LORD all night. 15:12. So when Samuel rose early in the morning to meet Saul, it was told Samuel, saying, "Saul went to Carmel, and indeed, he set up a monument for himself; and he has gone on around, passed by, and gone down to Gilgal." 15:13. Then Samuel went to Saul, and Saul said to him, "Blessed [are] you of the LORD! I have performed the commandment of the LORD." 15:14. But Samuel said, "What then [is] this bleating of the sheep in my ears, and the lowing of the oxen which I hear?" 15:15. And Saul said, "They have brought them from the Amalekites; for the people spared the best of the sheep and the oxen, to sacrifice to the LORD your God; and the rest we have utterly destroyed." 15:16. Then Samuel said to Saul, "Be quiet! And I will tell you what the LORD said to me last night." And he said to him, "Speak on." 15:17. So Samuel said, "When you [were] little in your own eyes, [were] you not head of the tribes of Israel? And did not the LORD anoint you king over Israel? 15:18. "Now the LORD sent you on a mission, and said, 'Go, and utterly destroy the sinners, the Amalekites, and fight against them until they are consumed.' 15:19. "Why then did you not obey the voice of the LORD? Why did you swoop down on the spoil, and do evil in the sight of the LORD?" 15:20. And Saul said to Samuel, "But I have obeyed the voice of the LORD, and gone on the mission on which the LORD sent me, and brought back Agag king of Amalek; I have utterly destroyed the Amalekites. 15:21. "But the people took of the plunder, sheep and oxen, the best of the things which should have been utterly destroyed, to sacrifice to the LORD your God in Gilgal." 15:22. Then Samuel said: "Has the LORD [as great] delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, As in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, [And] to heed than the fat of rams. 15:23. For rebellion [is as] the sin of witchcraft, And stubbornness [is as] iniquity and idolatry. Because you have rejected the word of the LORD, He also has rejected you from [being] king." 15:24. Then Saul said to Samuel, "I have sinned, for I have transgressed the commandment of the LORD and your words, because I feared the people and obeyed their voice. 15:25. "Now therefore, please pardon my sin, and return with me, that I may worship the LORD." 15:26. But Samuel said to Saul, "I will not return with you, for you have rejected the word of the LORD, and the LORD has rejected you from being king over Israel." 15:27. And as Samuel turned around to go away, [Saul] seized the edge of his robe, and it tore. 15:28. So Samuel said to him, "The LORD has torn the kingdom of Israel from you today, and has given it to a neighbor of yours, [who is] better than you. 15:29. "And also the Strength of Israel will not lie nor relent. For He [is] not a man, that He should relent." 15:30. Then he said, "I have sinned; [yet] honor me now, please, before the elders of my people and before Israel, and return with me, that I may worship the LORD your God." 15:31. So Samuel turned back after Saul, and Saul worshiped the LORD. 15:32. Then Samuel said, "Bring Agag king of the Amalekites here to me." So Agag came to him cautiously. And Agag said, "Surely the bitterness of death is past." 15:33. But Samuel said, "As your sword has made women childless, so shall your mother be childless among women." And Samuel hacked Agag in pieces before the LORD in Gilgal. 15:34. Then Samuel went to Ramah, and Saul went up to his house at Gibeah of Saul. 15:35. And Samuel went no more to see Saul until the day of his death. Nevertheless Samuel mourned for Saul, and the LORD regretted that He had made Saul king over Israel. ✝️📜 STUDY:-Because of his disobedience concerning the Amalekite mission, the Lord greatly regretted that The had made Saul king. Semuel went to Gilgel to confront Saul who claimed that he had performed the commandment of the Lord. But when Semuel asked Saul about the noises coming from the animals which he heard, Saul confessed that he had allowed the people to bring them to sacrifice to the Lord. Samuel rebuked Seul for disobeying God's command by bringing Amalek's King. Agag and some animals back. As Samuel wanted te leave, Saul held his robe and it tore. At that Samuel informed Saul that God had torn the kingdom of Israel from him. At Seul's insistence, Samuel remained for Soul to worship the Lord. But Samuel killed Agag in Gilgal and returned home to Ramah. Saul's partial obedience was counted as disobedience by God, so Samuel had to finish the destruction of Agag that Saul spared. Which of God's businesses have you left unfinished? God may have told you to do something and you have not fully complied. Confess your sinful act and go on to complete your God-given task. Do you have any unfinished business in your home, school, church or office? Stand now and finish it! ✝️🙏 PRAYER: Help me dear Father to finish what I have started. |
