Politics › Re: If PDP Had Invested Well, Nigeria Will Be Better Than Dubai – Fashola by EngrXrix(m): 2:51pm On Jul 04, 2020 |
ganisucks: Mr. Tunde Fashola, Nigeria’s minister of works and housing has berated the main opposition party, the People Democratic Party (PDP) for being responsible for Nigeria backwardness and lack of development.
https://mobile.twitter.com/PlusTVAfrica/status/1279139636359639042?p=v
The minister accused the PDP of wasting huge amount of money that ought to have been used for infrastructure on things that do not matter. Plus TV Africa on Friday quoted Fashola to have said “If we had put the $12billion we paid creditors in 2005 into infrastructure, we would have been telling a different story now” we opted to pay creditors. This was the same year Dubai was building what we see now” I sincerely agree. Pdp wasted us. But blind party loyalist will come under this thread to whail. NB: I am not a fan nor member of any political party. |

I was part of the construction team that did the piling for the fly overs at presco junction, the other one at a popular junction leading to the express that takes you to ikwo/afikpo and one close to the international market. one thing I loved about the project was how the governor came to inspect the progress of the projects himself. As in this man was thorough to details with the Chinese contractors. Them sef tire. he'sa true leader. This was far back 2015 I left 2016. Seeing this now, I'm proud to say I was not involved in an abandoned project and will never be. God bless the good people of Ebonyi state. You voted the right person as your leader. |

Politics › Re: We’re Robbing Our Children To Pay For Our Greed – Atiku Speaks On Nigeria’s Debt by EngrXrix(m): 5:04pm On Jun 16, 2020 |
Shehuyinka: ATIKU Abubakar, former Vice President and one-time presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has expressed concern over the rising debt of Nigeria.
“We are not just robbing Peter to pay Paul, but robbing our children to pay for our greed,” Abubakar said of a recent statement that the country’s debt to revenue ratio is now 99 percent.
In a series of tweets shared on Tuesday, the former Vice President cited figures presented in the Medium Term Expenditure Framework and Fiscal Strategy from the Federal Ministry of Finance, Budget, and National Planning, which show that while Nigeria spent a total sum of ₦943.12 billion in debt servicing in the first quarter of 2020, the Federal Government’s retained revenue for the same period was only ₦950.56 billion.
According to him such debt to revenue ratio shows that the country is in a crisis saying that the nation’s 2020 first quarter financial report Medium Term Expenditure Framework and Fiscal Strategy is shocking .
“Nothing has shocked me in my entire life in public service as the revelation from Nigeria’s First Quarter 2020 financial reports in the Medium Term Expenditure Framework and Fiscal Strategy from the Federal Ministry of Finance, Budget, and National Planning, which shows, alarmingly, that whereas Nigeria spent a total sum of ₦943.12 billion in debt servicing, the Federal Government’s retained revenue for the same period was only ₦950.56 billio,” he said.
“This means that Nigeria’s debt to revenue ratio is now 99%.”
“No one should be deceived. This is a crisis! Debt servicing does not equate to debt repayment. The reality is that Nigeria is paying only the minimum payment to cover our interest charges. The principal remains untouched and is possibly growing,” he said further.
Atiku Abubakar also condemned the current cost of governance, describing it as unnecessary while urging the Federal Government to cut down the cost and channel the revenue to other vital areas of need in the country.
He advised against the maintenance of the presidential air fleet and ‘renovation of buildings – referring to the National Assembly Complex, just as he also condemned the limousine fleet for top government officials, overseas travels and treatments, and the ₦4.6 billion Presidential Villa maintenance budget, stating that all are wasteful projects.

Gjrich: I Don’t Want to See Anything Like Transgender Again In US – Donald Trump Ends Law Encouraging Transgender
On Friday, Donald Trump who is the president of the United States puts an end to an Obama-era regulation that prevented transgender patients from being discriminated against while receiving health care.
The new policy by Trump has been long-awaited by his religious and conservative supporters. In the new policy, gender is now defined as a person’s biological sex, unlike the Obama regulation that defined gender as a person’s internal sense of being either, male, female, neither or a combination.
There are also moves by the administration to restrict transgender men and women from serving in the military.
Under former President Barack Obama administration rule, hospitals in the United States could be required to perform gender-transition operations (changing from boy to girl or vice versa), such as hysterectomies (removing of the womb).
The Obama-era rule made it easy for people to transform from boys to girls or from girls to boys, but with Trump putting an end to it, there will be difficult going forward.
Already Lesbian Bi-sexual Gay, Transgender and Queer (LBGTQ) groups are protesting against the new law by Trump. Never really understood the rationale behind this transgender thing tho. Doesn't make sense to me. |

Politics › Re: Governor Godwin Obaseki Deserves A Second Term In Office As Governor Of Edo Stat by EngrXrix(m): 3:57pm On Jun 02, 2020 |
Rexojie: His Excellency the Governor of Edo state is the greatest thing that has happened to Edo State politically, Socially and Economically in recent time.
He is a technocrat and an egalitarian leader of the very high esteem that has proven himself rightly in his governance of Edo State thus far. We couldn't have wished for a better governor at this critical time in human history.
In the midst of the crisis in his party, he has continuously place governance above all the odds against him. He has made the Edo people his priority. What a Political leader!
Let me categorically state here, that it's the political class or establishment in Edo state who are determined and have vowed to continue to feed fat from state treasury at the expense of the Edo common people, that are against Governor Obaseki.
The Vituperation against the governor by the old political establishment is that he is not servicing political leaders of his party. Not that he is not delivering on the democratic dividend to the people of Edo State.
Those guys want political patronage they will use as The conduit to bleed Edo treasury dry at the expense of the masses and the development that is happening in Edo state currently. God forbid!
Edo Central was completely abandoned by Comrade Adams Oshiomole 8years in Office. Governor Godwin Obaseki came and turn Edo Central into a hub of infrastructural development.
If you visit AAU today, you will be astonished to see the transformation that has taken place in that Ivory tower of learning under the leadership of Governor Godwin Obaseki.
Today, Pensioners in Edo state are very proud monthly earners with their dignity intact because they are no longer a financial burden to relatives and children. They don't even have to come to beg the governor or go on protest for their monthly pensions as the tradition then was.
Bravo Mr Governor!
That is what even the formal labour leader who was governor for 8years could not achieve.
Even my Village in Edo North has a touch of the governors exemplary leadership.
Well done Mr Governor for the courage to fight for the good people of Edo State.
Posterity will be kind to you.
ONE GOOD TERM DESERVE ANOTHER!
Dear people of Edo State, the fight against the governor is a fight against the development of our dear state. Please, take it personally!
The fight against the governor is a fight to take over the treasury of the state for their personal aggrandisement.
Edo People should rise up against these political vampires whose only stock in trade is political patronage.
Outside of politics, these guys got no value to offer as such got no earning power.
In the confrontation between light and darkness, the light will always triumph over darkness.
I am optimistic that Governor Godwin Obaseki will triumph over his adversaries and clinched the ticket to continue in office as Governor of Edo state for another four years by the grace of God.
