leaving corn to dry is the best option if you have a storage facility forget about boiling corn or roasting corn they have a very big disadvantages , how are you going to do the remaining corn after daily sales as everybody love fresh corn or you’re 100% sure you’ll sell off everything everyday. If you can’t allow the corn to dry market women is the next option. Here in ibadan where my farm is I’m currently selling my maize equivalent to #70 per porn buyers around the OP farm are greedy
Don't talk about what you don't know. Fresh corn makes more profit than dried. Shikena. Be humble to learn more.

It is one of the best news in Nigeria in this recent time. Those governors will start getting it that they need to work hard to make money. By the time a local government chairman outperforms a sitting governor, that governor is in soup.

Growing a nation while going on huge debt plus corruption and looting .....Nigeria is dead. I predicted it a long time ago that we are going to separate peacefully at a stage. As long as the looting continues, Nigeria will die. It's even already dead.

The nations that will come out of Nigeria will be prosperous because they must have learned their lessons. The North will take education seriously by that time, and the southeast will do marvellous activities. For sure, South West will take the initial lead, while SS will have initial setbacks due to many factors, especially identity. North Central will struggle for a long time, so I pity that region. Abuja will definitely be a shadow of itself after the breakup. To me, we wasted so much in Abuja. All those buildings and luxury life there will depreciate in value within a tweakling of an eye.

Good morning Nairaland.
I have been deeply troubled lately over my health, I had written about this here years back but it keeps growing bad daily .

I had been diagnosed staphylococcus and as a matter of fact , it's a product of ignorance and not sexual exploit because I had my first sex at age 26 and before then I was never sexually active .

My life is in ruins now cos I'm closing to the year of marriage and my sexual life is nothing and to cap it all, my girl is even a virgin and being that I'm not sexually effective, I couldn't even disflower the period she stayed at my place and because of that , I pretended I was not sexually interested so it won't sound I was after sex as she had labeled all men to be .

House , even if I end up not having a wife in life , my health now is in a big mess as my private parts inches like what I can't even quality, pls house , if anybody has a lasting solution to this , the person should as a matter of urgency help me cos I'm dying in silence .

I had been defrauded repeatedly because I was looking for solutions to this menace , how can I be living, money I don't have , healthy life , I can't enjoy , haba! Life isn't just fair to me .
The strategies to eradicate stubborn infection are:
1. Eliminate artificial sugar from your diet. White sugar, sweet, chocolates, soda - coke, Fanta, etc.
2. Eliminate natural sugar honey, date, etc
3. Eliminate fruits - mango, pineapple, banana...cos they contain sugar infection feeds on
4. Eliminate all starchy food - garri, semolina, amala, corn, rice, bread, spaghetti, etc.
5. Use herbs - Simple herbs will start working if you first follow the 3 steps above for 2 weeks.
6. Start gardening. Eat only organic vegetables, fresh meat, and eggs mainly. Take electrolytes. This is the most important step.
7. Give yourself time....one year therapy will clear everything.

This procedure always works. It has saved lives. The only issue is that people can't do it. They hardly even pay attention to it. They are always looking for conc herbs, supplements, etc. But the steps above are the best way to boost the immume system, and your body will fight the war itself. You will feel so bad at the start, but your body will be strong later.

Ayemileto:
Smoked maize goes for N200 per one here. It's if you price that they'll give you 3 for 500.

So, if cooking or smoking, you'll sell at N150 per cob at a minimum, and this place is even a local environment, not those big cities.

I do understand the economical aspects though, and thinking about it, I believe that's where the issue comes from.

All the women that came yesterday came from a big city, and their transportation cost (to and fro) should be at least N1,800 per person. If we factor in how much they'll get charged for load (to move from farm to express, and express to city), then the transport costs for each of them can go up to 7k or even more.

None of them bought up to 30K worth of products. In fact, one bought only 16k worth of products and she even had to borrow money to complete the payment.

The issue here is that, this small scale buyers will need to buy extremely cheap themselves, for them to break even. Imagine the woman that buys only 16K spending 7k on transportation, already, her costs already shoots up to 23k (Almost 50% up).

I think, going forward, if I want to sell from farm, then I will probably look out for those that can buy in huge quantities (as they will be able to buy at a better rate, since their transportation will be cheaper). But for now, I will be taking to the market on market days.
From everything I have read here...hmmmm

Imagine the other guy acting like a consultant..lol. he has 60,000 cobs, but his team cannot tell him he should sell at min of N100.....he came here to say rubbish. Lol. And then said you were right that his team told him after he had made a mockery of himself....lol. same person wants to do abrakatabra calculation again...lol.....See...keep taking suggestions and advice from fake farmers. Real farmers have told you...Guess what? They have left. They won't say much. I only pity you. Leave these fake farmers alone and take your product to where you are told. Pray for favor....and if you don't make profit...give God the glory..bounce back to your farm.

Production amendment is too late..... you have poor germination or not...high yield ...or not ....should not be your focus now. Selling your corn is what you should focus on. Leave these paper farmers calculating rubbish.

See...just survive this. Loss or gain...just survive it. The most important thing is getting cash to return to the farm.

You can count the numbers of cobs per bag yourself...and put the bags on scale. Get your data and don't listen to any useless data coming from someone who has 60,000 cobs but doesn't know the price to sell. Lol.

My advice to you.....take retailing more seriously. If you roast one corn and sell at 3 for N500 also.....do your calculation na. Your brain should start working. How many hubs can you set up, sell roasted, and boiled corn? How many cobs can each hub sell a day? That's what your focus should be after this production.

If you can sell just 100 cobs per hub per day and you have 5 hubs, you should harvest 500 cobs per day. So. What do you need to do? You cultivate what can give you 3,500 cobs per week. And keep planting that per week. You don't need to fill your whole farm at once. You go gradually. But go learn how to do staggered production and how to tackle pests very well. There are different strategies for staggered continuous production and filling the farm at once.

If you do staggered production and retail you corn, you will never regret it. This period we are is not for selling to agents. Go read my threads, and I preach retailing. Reduce production and focus more on retailing. Spend less on the farm but make more profit retailing.

It may surprise you that a farmer who retailed his tomato on less than a plot of land made more profit than a farmer who cultivated 6 plots. Lol. You are a small-scale farmer mehn. Learn retailing. Downsize production. That guy who advised you to go all out and increase production is your enemy. Learn from the lady who bought N16k goods and spent N7k on transport. So, do you think she will embark on such without knowing she is going to be profitable? She is smart. Lol. Only you entered a business and did not know your profit or marketing strategy before starting. Lol.

After doing proper market research, you may have to cultivate 500 stands per week or even less. It may be up to 1,000 or more depending on the outcome of your research.

If you like...keep expanding your farm.. you will only make agents richer while you lament endlessly here. And you will start discouraging others from farming. There are so many losers like that around. Don't be one. Learn retailing..learn marketing... Downsize production.

Good luck!

If you have other means of surviving without putting mind on the money after sale I advice to allow it to dry before selling, if you have good means of drying sell it January or February and you will thank me latter.
I don't know why you guys promote dried corn. The cost of production is even high. Lol. Propose drying in this rainy season? Plus...if you understand fresh corn sales, you will never dry again. It is always more profitable.

If you are in a good town

Whole not set up corn roasting hubs na

Five spots can finish Ur maize farm
The best option. I would add boiled corn to it. The guy will make times 10 or more of what he said he sold at recently. Retailing is the ONLY way forward for feather weight farmers. This is exactly what I would do... but I know the guy will give many reasons why he can't do it. He won't want to spend more on set ups which is not expensive at all....he won't want to buy charcoals or firewood, he won't want to get large pots, he won't want to try at all. All he wants is to carry the maize to a slot and get his money back instantly. Lol. Or return the next day....but to pass through the sales procedure....never...lol. And that is where the real money is. Later, they will say farming is not profitable. When you passed through the tough stages of production, and only what is left is to retail the products....lol...farmers will always shy away from it a d give their products to "powers and principalities" ruling the agro businesses called agents. Lol. Dem go wipe am oraimo cord very well. grin

Let's say I want to buy up to 100 plots,

1. What is the best way to take possession of the land? By first fencing the land ASAP. then either working on it OR if not ready to work, plant cassava there BUT you must FENCE it.

2. Can I get up to such a number of plots in Ado-Odo-Ota? If not, like how many plots do you think I should start thinking? You should be able to, though would be inside. Forget getting such quantity close to main road except out of sheer luck

3. How does Adron source for their land everywhere? Perhaps if I know the template of how these estate builders go about land acquisition, I can follow it too. Well those ones are more like PoliTicians. MeanWhile, I am not in that industry so can't tell for sure BUT can say for a fact, they've got very deep pockets, and have numerous quality contacts.

4. How do I get land very close to the main road so I don't go inside. I always avoid it. You need have very very deep pockets, then make your request, and be ready to really do your due dilligence which is a MUST here because for such, it's easier getting Swindled here. Getting land very close to express or major road no be moimoi. To even get land wey be cornerPiece for good street sef no cheap. Left to me, would suggest you forget it, enter inside BUT try to avoid over inside BUT for the quantity you seem to be looking for, would be somewhat difficult getting such closer to major roads.

My plan is to build workers' quarters and a personal apartment there. Also hostels for volunteers and farmers who come for training. I actually intend to rent out some of the spaces per planting session. I think many farmers will show interest in renting soil with life. This is my speciality now. I put life in soil. Me would say start small and grow. All these plans might seem feasible in theory but practically might fail. Most farmers understands how to cut costs. Cassava farm wey you go spend 1-Million naira cultivate, most wouldn't spend up to 500,000 naira to achieve same or even better.

But I don't have time to cultivate and supervise large expanse of land because I have a very busy schedule. So, renting it out is the option I am considering. And then buy the produce at farm gate price. To best of ma knowledge, investing funds, when you don't have at least 80% time to run or monitor things speels doom. People no dey thief to remain for owner Ooo.

It will take like 2 years after land acquisition to achieve this because I have to work on the land first. So, how do I secure such land while I work on the soil? All buildings will start 2 years after the soil is OK. Can I still secure all the plots? You MUST FENCE it. Secondly you could go the extra mile getting the necessary papers such as CofO or Governors consent.
Don't worry about start small ....grow big. Land acquisition is the main area I need help cos it has been something I have had a lot of headache on. I almost purchased very big land 5 years ago, but thank God I didn't do it. I cannot imagine travelling beyond the Lagos-Ogun border in this terrible time in Nigeria. I cannot go beyond that limit. My journey is from Muritala Muhammed Airport to the Lagos-Ogun border. Shikena. I don't want to go beyond that.

By the way, I will so much love the railway to pass through the area. That railway can easily take one to Lekki Airport in the future. It can be used to take one closer to Muritala Muhammed, too.

The monsters Nigeria created called estate developers will meet their end soon. Even Nigerians are the cause. I think lawmakers need to make 1 plot 667 sqm. That's the standard plot. And no land should be sold below that. Also, at least 100 sqm must be used for gardening out of that 667sqm. This is the only way we can have a sustainable lifestyle. It is going to be good for the environment and the health of the people will improve. Then, terrace and sky scrappers too should have laws that are environmental sustainability compliance. This is what we need to work towards.

Gardening is a way of life to achieve longetivity and quality life on earth.

Why should I avoid buying land in an estate?I personally don't like that due to their rules and regulations, among other things such as FEEs.

How do I go about buying from omonile in Ado-Odo-Ota?
Just locate any agent or landLord within an area BUT just becareful sha.

Could you highlight steps to find genuine omonile? To best of my knowledge, I don't think there's any laid down rule othert han liaising with someOne who has successfully patronized them before; possibly a resident landlord.

And after making inquiry behind them, what are the next steps to take? if you're OKay with outcome of your investigations / enquiries, and you equally sure the said land is not in conflict either at the moment or previously, then ensure to ask the sellers all the available documents they have for you, most times they might tell you the land has Survey but in real sense it's often a global Survey. If it has survey which it should, get a copy of it, and investigate further to ensure it's got no ties with the government, or in dispute.

ensure you have money to do perimeter fencing even if it's just 5-coaches. if you don't have funds to do foundation, just plant cassava inside it and have someone within the vicinity but not in anyway related to them to help you monitor the farm.

Alternatively, if you can't afford doing fence, you could skip it but ensure you do Foundation, and please don't just dig a single foundation. dig foundation everywhere to spoil the ground else those people don't mind selling half or quarter portion of your plot of land.
For example, say the land is 1-plot, rather than just doing foundation for 3-bedroom, equally do foundation for shop on the opposite side of the land hence if the house foundation is on the back left, the shop foundation should be on the front right ELSE nothing stops them selling the remaining half.

if said land is in acre(s), then you definitely need a perimeter fence. and if not ready to utilize said land, turn it to cassava farm.

Mind you, doing CornerPiece, doesn't protect the land in any way. All it does is indicate boundaries.

When buying land, taking immediate ownership is key. Leaving it for as little as 1-month could be more than enough time for them to act.

As for doing foundation, you really don't have to do complete foundation; you could do just 2 coaches even when you need more than that. What matyters is that work has started.

if buying more than 3-plots, and in an area you think might need investigating, you could do what I call cheap Survey - you survey the land without filling it. Should cost less than 20,000 naira or now that cost of transportation is high, could be more. Basically entails the Surveyor coming to the site, taking the necessary readings, and going to their office to check things out.

Also please, never give work to those who sold land to you. Not even to those related to them. Source for your own bricklayer, labourer, etc. You could source for labourers within, but for bricklayer, get them outside the community. You could even go 2 major bustops away to get them. Ignore all recommendations no matter how sweet they might seem.
Also never pay money to workers upfront. they might be quick to ask for advance payment but never do that because some don't mind going with just 20% of the total amount charged.

Stay there or assign a family member to stay with them, and only give them money when work is complete. You could equally make friend with a landlord within (actually, a lot of them would want to make friends with new commer), give like 50% of the total money, and instruct him or her to only pay when you instruct to release the money, or if they personally checked to see the work was done as desired.
As for the remaining balance, you pay that yourself when you come and see it yourself. reason being that, even despite leaving instructions, the person could still release the fund to the person and claim ignorance that they thought it's been done or something along those lines. A lot of people irrespective of their age, no dey get shame.

your target might be ogun state except you have loads of money to spend.

As for areas close to Lagos state, anywhere in Ado-Odo-Ota in ogun state is close to Lagos state.

As for where to buy lands, I suggest you avoid buying lands in estates. But whatever you do, before paying for that land, even if it's just part payment of 1,000 naira , ensure you have money to do perimeter fencing even if it's just 4 or 5 coaches.

Also ensure after they have shown you the land, you come back days later alone and without informing anyOne of them to come look around, ask (indirect) questions among those within the vicinity to understand how things happens there. Depending on the area, doing survey is a MUST even before paying them the first penny.
There are other things sha but start with the above firstly.
Why should I avoid buying land in an estate?

bassdow:
Except you have loads of money, Lagos should be out of it. Your major target should be Ogun state. Probably around Ota or there about. So that getting to Lagos is super quick and less hassle. Would have suggested Shimawa which is between Lagos and Ogun state but land don finish for that area somehow. To get genuine land for that rea na hard work except you wanna buy from a preVious owner whom you do not really know nature of said land.

if wanting to buy cheap, and still stay close to Lagos state, just ensure you don't go beyond Ado-Odo-Ota (popularly known as Ota) local government. From there you could easily get bus to most parts of Lagos wether via toll gate or via Agbara or probably other areas.

Also there are big real estate companies there such as Adron. they've got multiple sites there.

Also you could buy directly from Omonile which I would suggest in your case. You just need to take some extra steps to avoid funny stories.

Yes, there’s nothing wrong with Nigerian yam. They, and products made from them, are being sold all over USA and UK. Even you or the links you posted haven’t stated anything wrong with them. No health condition has been linked to them. You’re right that yams last long in our barns back at home. But a certain percentage always got spoilt over the months. I don’t have information that fertilizer is responsible for quicker spoilage during shipping, and I’m sure you do. But the use of fertilizers is not a Nigerian thing. The problem here is that food is rarely labelled. Even the use of pesticides is not unique to Nigeria. The reason I stay off our farmed fish and birds is the lack of regulation which allows farmers to use anything in any quantity at any time.

When I was a kid in the village, we used a certain pesticide to preserve maize. But there were rules. Once we arranged the maze, the place was locked and no one would enter for the next four months or so. (I think the rule said 3 months). By the time we open the place to process the maize for sale, a few weevils had started to appear in them, meaning the pesticides had worn off. But now, wholesalers are abandoning the rules. People are feeding all sorts of antibiotics to fish and taking them to market the next day! Market women are putting sniper in stock fish, beans and some other grains and selling them! Yes, pesticides go into the system of plants and can remain after washing. But how much? Black-eyed peas from Nigeria are rejected in Western countries, not because they have pesticide residues, but because the residues are “above acceptable levels”. Foods consumed in those countries also often have pesticide residues but their farmers and traders follow the rules.
If you can provide evidence, I will bombard you with so much. But I don't need to.

Listen to me and listen carefully, if you are not a farmer...do not argue with farmers. OK? About pesticides...go and ask anyone...I know cos I experienced first hand while selling greens in those days. Traders used to come for mine cos they could leverage on its long life shelf. I am telling you...go, verify it. If you grow naturally, the shelf life is longer. Period.

Number two. If you grow naturally, the produce has more and cleaner nutrients.

Do not down tone fertilizer usage. It is one of the mistakes of advancement. We don't need it. Fertilizer is salt, which is counterproductive. Fertilizer is one of the reasons we are in this mess we are today. Since fertilizer is salt, it kills microbes. And so, fertilizer makes our soil dead. So, what good is in it? I am telling you above 2020 to 2024 recent discoveries in regenerative agriculture. Though, these aren't discoveries because some farmers have been shouting for long, but some microbiologists who God sent to us partnered with ecologists and shamed fertilizer producers who were blocking researches in that regard because of their business.

You are funny that you mentioned our yams are sold over the US and the UK. Yes. But does that make it really clean? They told you that a certain percentage of a chemical residue is not bad for you, and you accepted. Lol. What if it's not there at all? I prefer not to have it at all than to believe them because they are always driven by the profits they want to make. If you haven't learned from tobacco, then you will never learn. They used everything to stop the real truth about tobacco in the 20s to 70s. Infact, they portrayed it as strength, elegant, brilliant, etc. Lol. But when God said...enough is enough...the truth came out. And it was "tobacco smoking is dangerous to your health". They started fighting it and sponsoring lies, disgusting research, and manipulating everything like they are doing now, saying you can have some certsin residue in your system and have no problem...lol. And then, the final verdict came out... "smokers are liable to die young". Yes. That's it.

Oga, in this present Naija, grains with weevils are what I buy. Shikena. So, if you say they are bad...that's what I eat now if I can't find organically produced grains.

If you want to follow the rules of business men trying to make a profit, good luck to you. I prefer not to have any residue in my food. You intentionally eat food with "little little" poison, and you are also defending it. Lol.

Fertilizer is not a Nigerian thing. Yes. Is my explanation about fertilizer about Nigeria alone? So, the salt in fertilizers does not affect oyinbo soil? Lol.

Listen, modern regenerative agriculture researches are making wave in the US especially....and they are already educating themselves. But can you fight the corporate world and win easily? Lol.

If you choose to accept their style and rules, good luck to you.

Please, I don't want to argue on this yam issue further. I have said mine.

Good luck to you. If you don't have to...you will pay with your death. Period. If you always wait till you are knocked by that evil....then congrats. And the truth is that if you can find time and energy to do the right thing when you are already hit, it means ....you can do it.but chose to not do it. It is very simple. I have nothing more to add..lol.

Like I said, food has been getting contaminated since the beginning of time, long before science availed us the ability to discover these contaminants. Nature contaminates food. I’m not disputing that breeding has caused its own issues. (I don’t have information as to when anyone modified our black eyed peas and put antinutrients in them, and I’m sure you do.)
This paragraph shows you.arent, ready to research anything, and I am not willing to convince you further. If you don't have the information, and you have a hint now, but you don't want to check yourself....Good luck to you. Whether you were there in the days of the old and can say bold that nature contaminates our food...I don't.get it. You are just saying absolutely rubbish.

Nature cleans and doesn't contaminate. Stop spreading lies.

Antinutrients (even the little ones remaining after heating) don’t harm most people; that is why a blanket advise against grains has never been issued anywhere.
You are dangerous to society. Extremely dangerous. I have marked this part. You are definitely a potential tool that can be used by corporate people. And I pray that antinutients deal with you very well

Even most of the pots we cook with contaminate our food. Grilling contaminates it, too. So does frying.
Is grilling, frying nature? God! Why do people say stupid things to defend their cause? Chai!

Nature and common sense tell you that frying is counter good health. Nature says eat raw.... we thought we were wise...and we brought out pathogens....and then, we had to use heat to kill them. Is this nature?

Groundnuts contain carcinogens, but there’s no evidence they’ve actually given anyone cancer.
Dey play! I will give you just one. The poison from the deadly fungus is Aflotaxin. Come back and tell me it doesn't cause cancer. You just dey talk. Oga...stop this nonsense.

Thankfully, the human body is designed to deal with these things, with help from antioxidants.
Jesus! Your "die" will be a painful one since you will definitely overwok your body. Mark my words.

I doubt there are many people living in Nigeria you’d test for malaria that you won’t find MP in their system – yet they’re not all falling ill. Good health is a result of many factors, with genetics being the biggest. Genetics is why some people eat, drink and smoke what they like and go on to live in good health till 90.

I’ll assume you’ve verified all your claims and are speaking from knowledge. Not sure I understand your point about gluten but there’s evidence it harms SOME people (unlike yams which have never made anyone sick), and those people are advised to avoid it. 99.99 of people I know eat gluten, and I’ve not seen any campaign for people to stay off it, so I’ not sure why you say we’re being warned off it. Only those intolerant of it are told to stay off and for them it's usually not an option because the condition can totally ruin their day-to-day living. There was no gluten-resistance among ancients who ate it? Well, I didn’t know that. I do know that my ancestors did not eat gluten, as we don’t have wheat and co in my tribe. (We know adaption is important, as it partly explains why lactose intolerance is more common among people of certain ethnicities.)

I agree people should take their health seriously by taking REASONABLE measures. I just don’t think that “seclude yourself from Nigerian food or grown your own” is within the reach of most people. But I’m not an expert on the matter like you. You may well have information that the antinutrients that remain in egusi soup after cooking is harming people, and yours may well be a worthy campaign – even though I remain unconvinced that risking mass starvation is a better ideal than risking some harm to a few people who may react to antinutrients or be harmed by pesticide residues. Enjoy your day – and LOLing.
I just got tired of making comments because I know that you will definitely write more.. I am not ready to explain that of lactose intolerance to someone who has made up his mind. And I won't say anything about egusi. It's your choice. Keep promoting lies.

Please, you can eat food certified by the so-called experts that is clean. Leave people who want to go into organic food alone. It's your choice.. Those who listened to tobacco promoters paid for it.

It is your choice. Thank you.

Goodluck!

This comment is for the bolded red part of your post. It is a blattant lie that natural farming cannot feed the world. Regenerative farming and 2020 research show that natural farming yield is massive. If you sow those old seeds that have not been manipulated in a good soil, they produce more than these modern seeds. Recent research showed this...so, talking about mass hunger or starvation because we said we should move into natural farming is wrong. We will have abundance. This is what OBJ gave Nigerians with Operation Feed the Nation

The corporate world has successfully taken away gardening from us....hunger will come...no doubt. If I can have posts like this...then, it says it all. In the next 20 years, they will start controlling the world. Food is the real weapon of control.

Thank you for this question sir, I believe I can when I have good, well trained hands to take up the task in my absence, but unfortunately there are few and they will even prefer to run there farm rather than manage someone else own.
Farming is a vocation and can be turned to business but for now to maximize profitability and growth you have to be involved 110%.
The bolded part....I kinda thought deeply about it. I think the right phrase should be "Micro-scale/subsistence farming is a vocation that can be developed into a business. Just that I am sad that almost no one I know in southern Nigeria has turned it into a business. Too sad!

One of the reasons I am not interested in ruminant breeding is that it takes a long time. So, one will be tied down.

Nigeria is plunging into a state where there will be massive hunger in the land. Lol. Its not. Not only is there bad government, but there is also bad and dishonest behavior among citizens.

Bro... Good luck with your centre. I pray you achieve your goals.. Take care!

JuanDeDios:
Thank you for this public service. This is a very important matter. People need to take their health seriously. But to balance the aspect of diet, two quick points.
1. Food has always been contaminated. Even nature contaminates food in a bid to ward off pests – that’s why we have antinutrients. That is why if you have certain medical conditions, your doctor may advise you to sit with a nutritionist and find a way to avoid a certain antinutrient or two that may be harming you. Most people thrive in spite of the problem. However, some don’t. There are Nigerians who go into hospital every month to treat “malaria”. Some are battling with UTI forever. For these kinds of people, the steps above are necessary.
Breeding for diseases resistant and high yield is why there are anti nutrients in grains today. In those days, there were ancient opv seeds. If you are serious about your health, you will start acquiring them. Modern cassava has high cyanide, but I know farmers with stems without it.

So, nature does not contaminate food.

2. Most people are not in a position to take the steps discussed above and avoid these common foods. For them, it’s choose your die between hunger and possibly unhealthy food. If everyone were to avoid wheat, for instance, there won’t be enough rice and beans to feed them, and prices would quadruple overnight. That’s why you’re only advised to avoid wheat if you’re found to be gluten-sensitive. The same applies to antinutrients found in grains, seeds and some vegetables (most plants really). Since most people can’t take the steps above, I think the most utilitarian approach would be to share tips on how to reduce these harmful substances from getting into your body (e.g., washing fruits and veggies with baking soda and then clean water, parboiling your beans, etc.).
Washing with special ingredients you have listed only removes a type of pesticide that gums to the stems, leaves, and fruits. There are pesticides that go into the system of plants so that you can do nothing about them. And these are pesticides farmers use more. I'm a farmer, so I know these things.

Those telling you that you remove 90% via washing dont have a deep understanding of everything.

If you love your life, you will find a way to make it happen. I don't argue with anyone. If washing or boiling can do it for anyone....Good luck to the person.

JuanDeDios:
Nothing really wrong with our yams, really. It's how Ghanaian farmers produce theirs that we do. The problem with yam export from Nigeria is that yams spoil, and instead of flying them some people will go and put them on ships. Our yams are generally safe to eat. It’s beans they’re ruining with chemicals.
So many issues are still wrong with them. As long as pesticides and fertilizers are used to grow them...forget it. Even if it's just only fertilizer, the DNA of natural produced food is always different and packed with more super nutrients. While I know that tubers are still manageable, we should try to do our best. Health is wealth.

By the way, how were we formerly exporting yam ŕ? Lol. Dey play. Do you think we exported yams via planes in those days? When you grow yams naturally, they last very long. Go ask vegetable farmers. Those sellers know it, too.

If you aren't a farmer, don't make statements you don't know about. It's not just our beans....every thing sir. Farmers used pesticides too much, and then the worst set of humans are warehouse owners. Go make your research. People who spray snipers on grains. Lol. Na beans be the only grains?

By the way, gluten is another topic on its own. Is gluten really bad? Lol. When these businessmen see they cannot correct an error, they campaign somehow on a measure instead of correcting the error. They have successfully made us all run away from gluten. Lol. Earlier men tolerated it very well na. What happened?

Talking about antinutrients....go ask poultry farmers why they stopped formulating feed for their birds. Lol. If all those grains can't make birds grow well, why do you think they can make you grow well?

How did I manage to change my food? Most people aren't busy like me. Lol. It's all about priorities. If cancer jam such a person and they tell such only organic can heal the person....tell me if such won't do it by all means. So, na usual excuses.

Still need a partner.
Dm or check my profile to start poultry biz.
Investing in other businesses isn't a bad idea, but if I am not convinced here, I don’t bother doing any private talk.

1. No track record or performance here.
2. There is no hint on the business model.
3. How many birds and how much do you plan to sell them?
4. How do you want to sell birds in large quantities when it is not that easy now? Marketing.....how?

There are about 10 to 20 people I have under my supervision who are about to start producing day-old chicks. Personally, I have been looking to outsoursource part of my production to someone who can sell around 500 and above chickens per week. I keep expanding.

If you are asking for a partner, I am not your regular partner who drops money just like that. Inputs may come in the form of day-old chicks, 2 weeks old broilers, 4 weeks old broilers, bags of feed instead of giving money, etc. Listen, I rarely give cash except I am sure of the person.

If you know you are sure of yourself and ready to partner with someone who knows about the business, address all my concerns here first. But if na JJC you want to just collect money from and promise ROI....lol... don't even bother to do anything. But anyone serious will partner with anybody. Taking raw cash shouldn't be your goal if your intention is real, positive, and clean.

You wan sell chickens in bulk, and you haven't addressed how you will make a profit first. Lol.

Please don't derail my thread I take God beg una....
I just need a good advice on this farming stuff.
Pls your suggestion and contribution still needed.
Thanks
I don't make comments on threads like yours because you are funny yourself. Lol. But we need to stop getting ppl killed. By the way, the killer started from another thread but decided to promote his stupidity here, and it's good that farmers have done justice. But he doesn't give up easily on his stupid acts. He can still return. Lol. That's Junkie...I've known him for some time now.

So, you came online to ask what you should do. Lol. You are funny. I guess you have been told to make a heap, put cassava, soy, maize, and okra there. What's stopping you. Lol. Se una go just come online dey ask questions you are to sit down and make a good decision by yourself. Na we go suggest wetin you go plant? It's funny na.

For you to know that I laughed well at your thread. I checked you out. And I was shocked you had done pilots in poultry, but the end of all your poultry threads is the same. Like...no positive success. Lol. So, have you really checked yourself? Have you learned anything?

If you are diligent and you actually tried to correct your mistakes and showed them here how you corrected them, trust me, you will not be asking what to do. Yes, I am telling you the truth...because what you will do will emerge from the poultry's success. Naturally, a waste from an aspect of agric is the raw material for another aspect. And the raw material you get in poultry....no one should even tell you what to try next. It should come naturally.

So, go check yourself first because you will still start something else and finish with the same pattern. People who come online to ask for what they should do are not diligent.

Sorry bro...I don't make comments on your kind of thread, but if you take this post with a positive mindset, you will never regret it. If you decide to be aggressive, sorry oooo.....I don't make comments on your this kind of thread.

People are just writing ....do cassava here and there in many threads now. Lol. Very funny. Honestly....poultry farmers who migrated to crops understand my point. As in, you still dey ask wetin to do after doing poultry for over 4 years. Mehn! Check yourself.

So, this is my response to the bolded part of your post. If you don't still understand me very well....and you don't mind being told the truth (may not be what you want to do....may not be the answers you expect....may go entirely against the popular saying here...may put the hopes of cassava consultants and stem sellers in the mud), you should do the right thing. You know the right thing. And if you don't know...then...hmmm.

Good luck bro!

Repelled by what exactly? The smell or the stench? What exactly? undecided

In the same way that humans are not repelled by plants that are poisonous to them, Cattle are not repelled by plants that are poisonous to them. And worse, they don't learn from experience like humans can, meaning that a cow is likely to eat the same poisonous plant if it is not killed by it the first time it encounters it. That is why herders try to find feeding grounds for their animals that are free from these weeds. undecided

Finding and planting local species of these Cattle-icidic weeds is a good idea to avoid introducing invasive species into these communities.

They did not ask for the ministry of cattle management but livestock, which includes pork, veal, beef, and lamb (mutton). Only the poultry and fishery department should complain. But I think it is not a good request. Lol.

Tinubu needs a very good way to handle this issue.

My opinion is that Nigeria should separate if the North and South cannot live together. I kinda support the regional government bill some lawmakers want to introduce, and I believe it will be passed.
