Take note of the pattern. Here it is.

Incumbents who aren't in agreement with traditional leaders want to destroy them, while oppositions quickly jump to support such traditional leaders.

One thing is clear: These traditional leaders are weapons in the hands of politicians, and they are mostly looting institutions.

The monarchy system of leadership has started dying naturally, and it will not escape it. These obas, emirs, obis, Sultan, etc. must go. They are one of our main obstacle to unity and progress in Nigeria. Naturally, they will die.

Christ! God knows how much I want to avoid this dullard and his thread. Anyway, you won't succeed in manipulating ppl. I will still avoid posting research papers because I want someone to feel he knows it all...amd boooom! He becomes a guinea pig and an investment recovery tool. Say... go-bey... we go chop his akara soon.

OK...let's look at examples of genetically modified drugs:

1. Insulin: This is a hormone that helps regulate blood sugar levels. People with diabetes type 1 cannot produce their own insulin, so they need to take it as a medication. Before the development of genetically modified insulin, insulin was extracted from animals. However, this insulin was not always effective and could cause side effects. Today, most insulin is produced using genetically modified bacteria. Do I pray to have diabetics and you this. Nope. This isn't OTC drug...Never. Why use hormonal drugs when you can work on the nutrients you take in.....hormones perfom optimally based on the nutrients we take in. Go research this.

2. Human growth hormone: This hormone is essential for growth and development. Children with growth hormone deficiency can be treated with genetically modified human growth hormones.
Go ask Messi's papa what took him to start dosing short Leo growth hormone. You will understand the reason Leo was loyal to Barca. Lol. Dey play. Na ordinary person dey use them? And Leo's furure is still in God's hand.

3. Erythropoietin (EPO): This hormone stimulates the production of red blood cells. EPO is used to treat anaemia, a condition in which the body does not have enough red blood cells. Does this look like antibiotics you use?

4. Vaccines: Some vaccines are produced using genetically modified organisms. For example, the hepatitis B vaccine is made using genetically modified yeast cells. How many people rejected covid-19 vaccines cos of its nature. Lol. And are the vaccines easily available? We are talking of bio weapon here.

5. Monoclonal antibodies: These are laboratory-made proteins that can target specific cells or molecules. Monoclonal antibodies are used to treat a variety of diseases, including cancer and autoimmune diseases.
Stay away from GMO and inorganic so you dont buy these kinds. OP will definitely return and use the money he is paid to buy these drugs in his 50s. Lol.

If you want to live long....stay away from GMOs. Create a garden, eat only natural produced food. Yes, I know there are fertilizers, pesticides, and bla bla bla ...even vaccines for our livestock. Can you see that many of these vaccines are GMOs? Continue to bombard your birds with vaccines cos you want to tackle Newcastle and Gumboro. OK oooo.

Grow food naturally. Period. Do exercises....

If you have any of these diseases: diabetics, high blood pressure, auto immune related diseases, stroke, and if your organs are still OK...please, try 6 months therapy of organic food. Do not abandon your medications ooo...for example , if you have hbp, keep taking your medications, but get your BP monitor close to you and measure it daily. You will gradually reduce your daily doses, and you will get to a point that you will stop. Your BP monitor will show you. It's easy. But keep taking that medication, and you will use it for the rest of your life. Many users of these medications have died as the result of long-term usage. There are always complications for long-term users.

OP should come tell us regular or OTC medications or even non OTC medications in its simplex form. I thought to myself one day....if the medical field protects modifications made, why are they making it very simple in Agric. Lol... Think! Medicine is theirs already, so they don't need to lure you with anything. But Agric is not theirs, so they need to make it look simple.

Do not be deceived...in my view, the way the medical field doesn't release these things easily is the way agric should be. Period. They will NEVER let you have the simplest medical genetic altered products easily. You will get such from a real expert. Guess what? You will pay heavily. But Agric....they even are trying to make it cheaper than OPV and hybrids. LOL.

Guess what? The day they successfully remove all the seeds from the common man's hand, you will need to be stinking rich to access seeds. And you will pay heavily for using them. Lol. This is the end game. Na "ebi n pa wa" you dey shout now....I pity you all.

Ask OP to come explain the DNA modified drugs further. He doesn't even know it. Guess what...I have forced him to use Google. But at least, let him still use Google and review what they have given him to promote. Lol.

Can I get 100 people who are new to gardening? God knows how passionate I want people to laugh at the Nigerian government. Just 100 people who will produce their greens, meat, and eggs. Just 100. Let me put a smile on JJCs who will bless God for knowing me. Not those people who are already using fertilizers and pesticides for crops, and antibiotics and vaccines for livestock. Yeah. Just 100 people will shame government.

Funny....I cannot get this number. The corporate world has held you all in captivity. What a pity? Can you just imagine...Nigerians are crying because tomato hit N60k for 25kg crates....chicken per kg is N4,500 plus. Lol. They are crying. I was like....wow! They are crying.

Did Obafemi Awolowo attempt to bring in new ideas for staple food during his time? That time OBJ pushed forward Operation Feed the Nation. Can't you see how the old man is still bouncing? OBJ is still running around football pitch at his age. Let's not compare him with Tibubu. Lol. A beg! Get hold of your life....Be determined to live long in good health. Enjoy life. Live well. Eat well. Eat delicious organic products. Eat good good.

Cultivate potatoes, cassava, cocoyam, beetroots....carrots....etc..these are roots and tubers. Eat the tubers and eat the leaves. Yes....eat the leaves. They are so nutritious.

If I should start with cell nutrition and sustainability, I will overrun this thread.

Please be determined to live well. Say NO to GMOs....and start your garden today. Else, you will eat that GMO because hunger is in the land. This is what they have been planning for a long time....and they are already winning.

Lol! That's the person who understands genetic engineering. Lol.. Do you think you can explain anything to such a person, and can easily assimilate it? This is why I did not even try to give him any research paper or refuse to argue.

How can I explain anything to someone who doesn't know what a research paper is. His proof is the statement of the body that wants to sell the seeds. Lol. And he said that's his proof. And then, compares that with research papers. What can I explain or tell such a brain that will enter very well other than the money he has collected to promote the seeds? For someone that claims to have a background in science, this your response reeks of the ignorance expected from a layman. I asked you a simple question and you went off on a tangent.

I will ask you again and I expect a science-based response with proven facts, not the crap you wrote up there.

If you can take drugs and other biopharmaceuticals produced from recombinant DNA technology and gene editing, why can't you eat agricultural produce improved using the same process?

Make una dey deceive una sef. GMO is the present and future of global food security, and there is nothing you can do about it.
HeatSeeker:
Post the papers! grin grin grin

There are none from reputable institutions. I bet you na one yeye blogger wey no get pedigree you dey quote upandan for this thread. You have no evidence or concrete facts for what you are saying.
If you are too dull to understand I am not interested in guiding you on any scientific or non-scientific papers, then you keep ranting here. Lol. I am done with arguing with people. However, smart people who can quickly pick one or two things will move fast. I don't expect you to quickly pick the pieces of hints I dropped cos you fell blatantly in the face of the peanuts you are offered to promote GMO.

You can as well post recent research papers to support your claim from reputable institutions...cos I can't see any paper to back up your claim.. lol. Aren't you a greedy blogger who has been paid to promote these particular GMO seeds.

However, I am happy you mentioned something...and the phrase is "gene editing." Oga, go and learn the difference between gene editing and GMO. This is the only help I will offer you. Se you want to argue on a subject you are ignorant about? Lol. I am not ready to start posting papers to back up any claim cos like I said... na your die. Na you go doe the painful death. So, don't get that your coconut head together and dig deep into these things.

Again, go research the tech I said one person got a Nobel award for. If you research this and you know understand the terms above I told you to know the difference, and you will start picking up the pieces of sh...its you can not easily grab.

Lastly, those drugs you said we take....you are a careless man. I wrote about antibiotics and vaccines in broilers.

For the sake of others reading, use your brain. Do you get scholarships in pharmacology and chemical engineering like you used to get before? Go check very well...scholarships are abundant in microbiology, genetics engineering, environmental sustainability, esg, clean energy, ecology, regenerative agriculture, etc. Open your eyes....you will see science is going more into biology instead of chemicals. Lol.

Someone told you she is a microbiologist up there...and instead of you to sit down and learn from her, you want to prove you know it...right? I don't argue or teach "I too Know" like you. Anyway, go help yourself and see the directly of genetics engineering.

After all the chemicals they tried to use to cure AIDS, they got hooked up. They now know that chemicals are for short term.....and not the solution. But will they not recover their investments in research using chemicals to solve some health issues? Lol. They have to push the products out one way or the other. But since they have realised that the old approach is not the way, then you should use your head why there are abundant scholarships in the subjects I have written above.

The holistic approach is the way. That's it. Again...I will never post any research paper here cos I am not interested in arguing with anyone. Na your life. You die your die in pain. Period.

The way seeds are made now....yes...genetic engineering...but it is different from how this one's you are promoting here is produced.

I am.a farmer...listen...big organic seed companies refused to use the method used to produce these particular seeds you are promoting. Lol. I can start posting the activities of big seeds companies here. All of them have accepted the recent discovery. Yes. Of course, it is genetic engineering also....but again...the key is a holistic approach. To help your ignorance, we don't call modern seeds developed with this latest tech GMO. I will never help you or teach you further....go use your head and stop posting subjects you are a baby in.

Yes, you were right in your first post that most sweet corns in cans are GMOs....but listen...Go research...Every farmer here knows about East West, Technisem, Chai Tai Agro here.. all these three companies are based in Thailand. Lol. You be farmer? Farmers here can start testifying to what I am writing here. Real.practical. WETIN YOU SABI. You are hunting to get your post to the front page. See...I will roast you if you ever get to that front page, cos that is when I will show your ignorance..lol.

Let me educate you further. These companies opted for traditional F1 production..again...the idea is using a holistic approach. Period. Cobra F1, Padma f1, Platinum f1 ......oh....farmers here are already smiling. Lol. Smiling at your ignorance. Lol. You better carry your useless GMO seed out of our arena. Lol..

Go ask wetin farmers eyes don see with Monsanto seeds. Lol.. You just dey write rubbish you know absolutely nothing about.

But guess what....all the companies I wrote have accepted the modern genetic breeding method. Your job is to find out why I keep saying this particular one is bad. If you like, go and research it...of you like keep arguing.

Na your die.... not mine. If you expect that I will teach you...wake up. See..I want you to start consuming these ones they are pushing presently to Africa cos they want to recover their investment. Eat them well. Na you go be their investment recovery plan..lol. We that are not careless and not greedy know which types of modern seeds to use. So, promote GMO very well. When the producers aren't eating them anymore. Na you go die the painful death na. Not me. Go ahead...promote it very well. We will chop your akara at your wake keep. Lol. We go just say RIP. Shikena. You don end yours at a max of 55 yrs. That's an era gone.

So.....it is your choice....choose to live up to 100 years in good health without using those medications you mentioned....or you use them (of course they manage symptoms very well na..but see...manage your symptoms oooo with dollars.....lol...se you wan use drugs .....sure....it will do the job na.). And finally, at 55 years, they will give you those drugs again to make your death less painful. So, use them. They are for you.

As for me, I choose to keep making an effort to cut off all inorganic and non holistic approaches of breeding. If the gene editing is holistic, sure....I can use it. But when I understand how to grow OPV and produce even more than what that gene edited seeds give, why should I go for it? Lol. E shock you? Yes.....modern seeds...not these ones you are promoting are still very OK....but I won't still use them cos I understand how to not make the corporate world rich. Those OPV seeds are still the best. Infact, I have registered with 5 seed banks that can supply me these seeds cos they are taking all of them out of our hands. Lol. Seeds that are free and abundant in those days.

Go to IITA, and there is where you can find those olden days cassava stems that are free from cyanide. Lol. E shock you? There you find olden days corn, cowpeas, soy, etc seeds. They are now in their banks. Seeds that are so common and you just used again from your harvest. Guess who can have these seeds? Only researchers.. lol.

So, keep promoting them. Science has successfully taken away food production from the common man...and you are one of the tools used to promote it. Lol.

The next agenda is to remove agricultural land from the common man, and only billionaires will own land. Lol.

If your thread makes the front page, I will reply people who want to know more about this subject and help them avoid dying young. As for you...you have chosen to be greedy....keep promoting GMOs. And I am not ready to educate you further cos you are greedy. That die.....at a max of 55 years....that's for you. Those drugs you mentioned...they are for you. The funy issue is that the money you are making from promoting these seeds.....they are meant to purchase the drugs you mentioned. So, embrace them....promote them....you are still going to pay dearly with your health.

Good luck!

So you also know that the same process is used to manufacture drugs, hormones and other pharmaceutical products using bacteria?

If you can take those drugs made from recombinant DNA technology, then why can't you eat crops improved in the same manner?
Lol!

You don get cancer oooo.

You better eat natural organic food. Oga....I pity you.

Antibiotics was said to be the greatest discovery. Yeah...it is good. I love it. But guess what? They started seeing resistance. Lol. For example, penicillin used to work for staph...but does it today? They started talking about MRSA. Lol. And suddenly... they started shouting that we must not use antibiotics anyhow.

But guess what? You can eat leaves and plants anyhow. If you are a farmer, you will also think like usm but you aren't. You are just talking anyhow.

Go ask very well...broilers (chicken) showed many Nigerians pepper in those days until they promoted using antibiotics and Vaccines. Then, the birds stopped dying. Guess what? Some people came up with organic style. Just leaves and spices....and those birds performed better than the ones bombarded with antibiotics and vaccines. That was where I caught the vision... so....this antibiotics na wash and crap.

Oga, here is the truth. I am telling you with full confidence. Create a garden...produce natural food. Don't use fertilizer, pesticides, or any chemicals. Don't use any growth hormone. Produce your eggs, meat, veggies, fruits..etc. Consume it for 6 months. I am telling you this today....if you jam any girl...she will hear wey. Na me dey tell you. Hypertension will clear away. Diabetes will clear off. I am not joking. Even cancer will take bullets, too.

If you want to finish the job well....combine it with fasting. See...you will never visit hospital. Grow those special spices....veggies...utazi, scent leaves, bitter leaves, Chiya leaves, water leaf, most greens around... ...Juice them every morning... Oga...hospital will be far from you. I am telling you. Go try it.

But you have embraced GMO na. Na your cancer you have embraced oooo. In the name of solving hunger..lol. they took away gardening from you...and you kuku embraced what they are giving you.

Congrats!!!

I've been preaching this lifestyle. Honestly, you are doing it wrongly doing 8 to 5 daily jobs and retiring to a whacky food filled with carb and unhealthy fat.

There is no way to do it other than create your garden. This guy used to be busy, but he had to make the decision to set up a garden for himself. He could have given many excuses to not live this lifestyle, but he chose to go all his way out to create a garden for himself.

The corporate world has given us everything in cand and packs, so we forget what fresh organic food tastes like. They have changed our taste bud with sugar. Of course, your cheat diet should be carb, sweets, and sweetened chocolate, but you know what to do exactly after that.

I choose to invest in my health. If you choose to grumble and give excuses for not being able to do it, you will pay for it later. And the cost is so expensive...in most cases, it is painful death.

Lol. You think and plan too much bro

Sometimes, perfectionism is a wahala.

Get those local chickens and enter business. Learn along the line.
Local chicken is still in business today because someone is making profit.

I have a friend that ventured into this business and his business failed because somebody bought out his entire stock. Meaning that he sells, sell, sell and outsold his main parents.

So yeah,the market is available.

Enjoy bro
Read what you wrote. So, your friend who outsold himself is wise or stupid? That's when you don't plan.

Stop this rubbish... and plan well.

Tel me how local birds raising is a business? From what I know, 99.9% who raise it eat 90% of their birds themselves. They are mostly in villages.

A business you can not easily scale up...lol. Have you learned about scalability in business? This is a priority for modern businesses. If you want to get a business visa to these super world power nations, your business must be able to scale up easily. You have to show them the plan how to scale up.

Perhaps you need an adviser to help you with a good business plan. Most of you see it as a waste, and in the end, you mess up. Still, you don't learn. Perfection is not what I preach...so don't twist it. I am only saying...show me that this thing is profitable, but you can't. And ya ya ya ya ya....it is profitable...it is profitable...show me na...you can't...Next...you plan too much. Are you damn serious now? Nope, I won't be a failure ....I won't follow blindly.

That's how they promoted f3 f4 ft noilers...I will make eggs from my noiler...I will use kerosene automatic incubator...lol...rubbish!!!! Go check all the threads....they were all crushed. Should I start posting failed threads here?

Just cos it is cheap or free does not mean it is worth doing. Again, I am not saying local birds aren't OK... but hey...na waooo.

I produce quails... but it is for personal consumption. I don't come here to promote it as a source of income because it is not in Nigeria. But the eggs and meat are ok. It even has a better feed conversion than turkey... but Nigerians won't still buy it. But it is good for personal consumption. I know it is not worth promoting it, so I don't.

If she means so much to you, consider having separate rooms. You only need to be ready to have at least 3 bedrooms or even more rooms for your family. I think you have to prioritize building your house so as to have more rooms. Perhaps you will have to soundproof her room too. Lol. Hahahaha.

Lol. It's diversification bro.

Ever heard of multiple portfolios in business.
In your farm, broilers may be the cash cows, but local fowls would be an additional source of income.

Besides, locals are less stressful than broilers
Local fowls for personal consumption is OK... but kindly show me one person who has made enough reliable income from raising them? And let us know the additional income such can give.

Have you ever heard of breakeven analysis in business? Have you ever heard of profit and loss ratio to know which lines to discontinue?

When you understand broiler production, it isn't stressful. The problem with most farmers is that they don't want to spend at all, but they want to make big money. Period. Learn the optimal condition to raise them, give it to them, and they will do excellently well. People who complain they are stressful just don't want to learn or don't want to spend.

At the end of the day, it's all about how we view life. If you can spend and even waste time in order not to spend money, then, good for you. Responsible people compare time and money. Time is money.

The world population is not exploding. You are lost. Fertility in advance nation is low because of modernization, but it can be easily corrected. Of course, we are better equipped now, but listen....that, which is about destroying us, has been revealed. Science is moving us back to natural lifestyle. This is my point. Our grandparents used most of these natural things, but they couldn't explain well why they worked for them.

I appreciate modern things... but my point is that it is pointing us back to what our fathers ate and drank.

Nigeria is a cast study of how the corporate controls food supply. I was thinking about it, and I realised that Awolowo did not attempt to dabble into staple food because no one depended on government for food in his days. Rather, he introduced cash crops. So, why have almost all Nigerians crying of hunger? Wow!

Food production has been successfully taken away from the common man, and he depends on the government. This is serious.

As an individual, you can do something about it. Listen to me....it is going to get worse. The food supply chain will be controlled by the powers of this world. So, learn gardening now before it is too late.

Threads that make front page are like 1 page, and they patch the initial post with pictures to make them front page worthy. Lol. You won't get so much there because stupid comments suddenly flood the thread after hitting the front page. And then, things died down, and if the OP isn't the front page hunter, the thread continues...and if you follow such, you start learning.

There are so many threads on poultry - chicken, turkey, duck; ruminants - goats, cattle, sheep; rabbits; etc.

There’s this girl I have been dating for a couple of months now, we are planning on settling down soon. She was diagnosed with PCOS couple of years ago before I met her, had a surgery and one of her ovaries were removed. Though she still ovulates and sees her period, I am kind of worried if there will be any issues in the future.
My parents doesn’t know about her surgery yet. Should I tell them about it?
Lol!

Will your parents manage your family for you? Very immature.

Go do research and see if she is really OK. Most Nigerian parents don't care after you have kids. PCOS is more than that. Most Nigerian parents are too selfish... all they want are grandkids. Are you a kid?

Anyway....read this:
https://www.healthline.com/health/pcos-diet#foods-to-avoid

Summary: Diet is the long-term strategy to fix most of these modern diseases. PCOS is mainly a hormonal imbalance caused by modernisation. Our grand parents knew nothing about it.

Let her stay away from sugar for just one month, and you will see more improvement in her. Yes, you didn't say how she is doing presently, but trust me... let her just stay away from sugar... stay away from carb. Just try it. Let her eat organic veggie, meat, milk, and eggs. Just try it. Not those rubbish eggs sold around....not those rubbish milk in cans and packs....

Stay blessed.

Yes there are female broiler chickens among them, does a female broiler lay eggs?!!..

I feed them with the organic feeds. Ultima Plus was what was recommended to me by the guy who sold them to me at 2 weeks...
Breeding is a business billionaries have taken over, and the end game is to control food supply. Exactly what is already happening in Nigeria. The game is that there won't be gardeners and backyard farming... just like how it is already in Nigeria. Go check out... Everyone is calling on the government to give them food. Did people who live from 1900 to late 90s solely depend on government for food supply? Even Awolowo did not attempt to work on staple food. Rather, he introduced cash crops - rubber, cocoa, palms, etc. But today, all forms of breeding have taken over food production from gardeners..lol.

Go ask farmers the cost of seeds... They can't even use heritage seeds because diseases were deliberately spread so that they can buy their own diseases resisted varieties.

So, the same thing is happening in livestock and poultry. The broilers you buy are called commercial. These ones are the ones they want farmers to buy. Sure, the female can lay eggs, but I won't be surprised if they have modified it such that they can't lay eggs again. My point is that the last time I checked, they can still lay eggs, but if you try it...you won't get good quality chicks. You will likely have deformation here and there. However, you can tweak it if you have breeding skills also. But why would you wanna spend months or years tweaking it when you aren't interested in becoming one of the guys who are taking away farming from common men and women? It takes a lot of money to do that.

So, if you want to breed, there is a special kind called "parents" you buy. Then, you can get into the business of breeding. However, you are restricted in many ways. These billionaries still have "grandparents," and I won't be shocked if there are already "greatgrandparents".

Go through my threads on the high cost of day old and learn more. Read the comments there.

One day old chick of the parent is over N5,000....and they sell in bulk. You will be lucky to get 50 chicks. Lol.

Try to do research on NL. These topics have been discussed many times...so, it gets boring when people start asking questions that have been answered many times. No one will respond. So, get yourself together and dig out old threads. Make research.

Good luck!

The medicine works for the short periods I take them and then after awhile, I will notice the rashes come back again. I'm tired already.. please is there anyone with similar issues and can help on how they dealt with it.
At times, the ONLY additional strategy to get rid of infections is cleaning up your diet so your medication can work well.

1. Cut out sugar or any sugary food. This is important. Fungi and bacteria feed on sugar. Cut out even natural sugar like honey, date, and even fruits such as pineapple, mango, banana, etc. Starve the fungi for a long period of time. If you don't do this, you may not win the battle. Cut out starchy food, too. Rice, potatoes, yam, beans, garri, etc.

2. Eat ONLY organic meat, eggs, and only vegetables (salads or Nigerian greens) for 1 month and see how you feel like. You may need to produce your eggs, meat, and veggies so as to save the high cost in this present economic hardship. This works like a charm. Trust me....it does. Long-term strategy for fighting chronic infection is what I am giving you here.

3. Make sure you have enough macro and micro nutrients in your body every time.

4 Drinking organic chlorophyll juice helps so much. First thing in the morning, do this. You can choose the ones that will lower your blood sugar, clean, and purify your blood. Also, use the ones that fight fungi infections. You may make tincture out of the ones that can fight fungi. Better still if you know anyone who can get you the right leaves for the strain of infection, you have won the battle. These days microbiologist are very useful even more than doctors when one is fighting chronic infections.

5. Fight fungi with fungi. S. Boulardii is very good for this purpose. Though expensive, I think it is worth giving it a shot.

6. Drink plenty of clean water daily. At least 2 litres of water daily.

It is well.

Agriculture › Re: 10 Myths About Genetically Modified Organism (GMOs) by epainos:
lovelyJubbly:
GMO stands for “genetically modified organism.” It most commonly refers to organisms—often plants—that have been modified to achieve desired traits, like drought-tolerance and pest-resistance, using recombinant DNA techniques or genetic engineering (GE). It’s a misleading term, since we’ve been modifying the genetics of organisms since the dawn of agriculture. But the name isn’t the only thing that people get wrong.
You are the one getting it wrong. Go back to the writer that s(he) is just a writer who has successfully written rubbish. Always try to understand a subject before embarrassing yourself. And OP...stop reposting everything. Ha ba!

Myth: Farmers can’t save GMO seeds.
Reality: It is true that patented GMO seeds are often protected by intellectual property rules, meaning farmers must pledge not to save them and replant. Monsanto says it has sued about 150 farmers who it claims broke these rules over the past 20 years. However, hybrid seeds, which have been around for decades, also need to be purchased each season because they don’t breed true, so this is not a new issue for many farmers. In both cases, farmers choose to purchase these seeds because they get a better yield and make more money. In addition, in many public sector projects, such as the virus-resistant papaya in Hawaii, insect-resistant eggplant in Bangladesh, and drought-tolerant Water Efficient Maize for Africa, farmers are free to save and share GMO seeds and no royalties are charged.
You failed to mention OPV (open pollinated varieties), which are heritage seeds. Hybrid or no hybrid... GMO or no GMO....seeds are supposed to be cheap. NGOs and governments are supposed to make it almost free all over the world. But businessmen have successfully succeeded in monetizing them. Please, go research OPV. Stop justifying nonsense.

If you want the world to not go on hunger, seeds should be almost free. Go check out the coats of these hybrids and GMOs. Lol. Anyway, only farmers who don't know about natural farming will keep buying hybrids and GMOs.

Myth: GMOs are a corporate plot to control developing nations and the world’s food supply.
Reality: Developing nations are increasingly choosing GMOs, and for the fourth year in a row, devoted more hectares to growing biotech crops than developed nations. Farmers in these countries choose biotech because these crops have helped to alleviate hunger by increasing incomes for 18 million small-holder farm families, bringing financial stability to more than 65 million people in developing nations. This technology should not bypass the poor, who are arguably those who stand to benefit most.
If it's not a corporate plot, why are seeds out of the reach of farmers? You try to divert the story that Africans are only victims. You aren't smart, na. Na corporate plot to remove gardening and farming from common men. Only billionaries will soon be farmers. This is the game...amd.they can control the world. But they will fail. Let them stop using you to write what is going to destroy the world. And OP...stop reposting everything because of the front page. Ha ba!

Myth: GMOs are a ploy by agrichemical corporations to sell more pesticides/herbicides.
Reality: Some GMO crops—such as Roundup Ready—can tolerate applications of herbicides, a trait that reduces the need for hand weeding or mechanical cultivation, which disturbs the soil. People sometimes imagine that GMOs use more insecticides, but the reverse is true with GMO crops that are bred with a natural form of insect-resistance, thus minimizing or eliminating the need to spray pesticides for crop protection. Overall, scientists say GMOs have reduced the use of chemical pesticides—both herbicides and insecticides—by 37%. (Qaim et al. 2014).
While they are resistance to certain diseases, they aren't to many others. I am a farmer, and I can tell you that you can not successfully cultivate seeds these days without spraying chemicals if you dont know about natural farming. So, stop playing. Resistant seeds dont mean reduced pesticides spraying. In fact, from our experience, it is more spraying.

Myth: GMOs are used only in industrial, chemical-intensive agriculture.
Reality: The technology of genetic engineering can be used in multiple ways, including reducing pesticides. Today many GMO crops are being bred in developing countries by public sector scientists who are working to improve the nutritional content and viability of staple food crops key to their region, such as cassava, pulses, mustard, brinjal, potatoes, rice, and bananas. Small-holder farmers typically grow these crops to feed their families.
That's the idea. They started by saying they are for industrial usage so as to get acceptance. Now that they have gotten that, they are already using writers and poster like you like to promote seeds for human consumption. Lol..

Myth: GMOs are not adequately tested
Reality: Governments everywhere employ strict biosafety protocols to ensure that any new GM product poses no threat to human or animal health, or the environment. These protocols include laboratory and field tests that may span many years. The resulting plants and foods are far more thoroughly tested than their conventional counterparts. Hundreds of scientific papers have assessed the safety of GM crops, and the vast majority found they are nutritionally equivalent to their conventional counterparts.
Give us proofs and references for this. I can supply you many evidences of GMOs and pesticides causing cancer.

Myth: GMOs are harmful to the environment.
Reality: Farmers who grow GMO commodity crops, like soy and corn, do less tilling, which reduces topsoil loss, erosion, and the associated runoff of fertilizer. They also can cultivate pest-resistant GMO crops, like Bt cotton, corn, and eggplant, with far fewer applications of pesticides, which benefits human and environmental health. Agriculture and its associated land use accounts for over a quarter of all global greenhouse gas emissions. On average, GE crops have reduced chemical pesticide use by 37%, increased crop yields by 22%, and increased farmer profits by 68%. GE crops also have reduced CO2 emissions (mostly through enabling no-till farming practices) by 27 billion kg—equivalent to taking 12 million cars off the road (Qaim et al. 2014).
Lol. Dey play. You know zero about farming. Farmers till because of soil compaction and not pest issues. So, how does this come into play. You are just writing rubbish. Instead of this useless writer to do what is right and talk to farmers....nope. he don collect money to promote GMOs..lol

Myth: GMOs are unhealthy.
Reality: GMO foods have a long, safe track record during their more than 20 years on the market. The prestigious National Academies of Science agrees with US regulatory agencies, scientists, and leading health associations worldwide that food grown from GM crops is safe to eat, and no riskier than consuming the same foods containing ingredients from crop plants modified by conventional plant breeding techniques. Banning GMOs results in negative health consequences because farmers would be forced to go back to using older, more toxic pesticides and access to food is more limited.
Which clean track record? Should we start posting references of GMOs and cancers? Lol. Dey play.

Myth: GMOs are unnatural.
Reality: Humans have been selectively breeding plants and animals for countless millennia, so all domesticated plant species—and even your pet dogs and cats—are technically genetically modified. Genetic engineering replicates a process that has been occurring in nature for millions of years as bacteria and viruses regularly shuttle genes between different species.
As long as it is extraction of gene, it is unnatural. Period. Stop promoting death. Breeding without extraction is OK...that's hybrid. Like a black and white sleep together and produce a kid with both genes. That's naturally made. But when you extract gene...dey play. Even artificial insemination, though artificially done, but there is no extration...so, there is no danger. But when you go inside and pull out a gene and then insert in another...that is where the wahala is. So, get it right before you write nonsense.

Myth: Organics are safer than GMOs.
Reality: Organic farming is a cultivation method, and GMOs are a breeding method, so it’s like comparing apples and oranges. Additionally, organic growers are allowed to use certain types of pesticides, so some GMOs could claim to be safer than organics. An example might be a GM blight-resistant potato, which does not need toxic substances like copper sulfate or other fungicides often used to control blight in organic farming. Ideally, genetic modification would be used to improve organic farming.
Stop playing smart. You also dont know it, too. OPV is what you should use here. OPV vs. GMO vs Hybrid. Stop playing smart.

Myth: GMOs won’t feed the world.
Reality: No one plant breeding or agricultural system can or will feed 9 billion people in a sustainable manner. There is no “silver bullet.”We need everything to help contribute to this goal: conventional, organic, biotech, small-holder, large-scale, as well as better distribution and storage systems, and less food waste, too.

https://allianceforscience.org/10-myths-about-gmos/
Lol. Smartie. When we restore our climate... When we stop burning carbon into the air, we will have 10 to 100 times more harvest from every plot of land we use. So, we will be able to feed the world. Period.

Note
GMO is a term used for extracting genes, which is bad. These people are already aware that it is bad...so, they have gone back to the drawing board. Now, we have a new method of transferring genes from one place to another without extraction. This is how HIV is said will be cured. This tech is used in Agric and medicine. It is changing everything. Many natural seed producers are already adopting it.

The term GMO must be stopped. This is the ONLY way out. This writer has just complicated this issue. Period.

I will not want to mention the tech here cos it is another story for another day. If this thread makes the front page, I am sure someone will write about it.

My Recommendation
Start a garden. Produce your veggies. Sure, you will have to buy expensive seeds cos there aren't no cheap seeds any longer, but it may be the first and last time you buy them. Even if you buy later, you will still be saving a lot of money. Produce your tomatoes, cucumbers, pepper, sweet corn, ugu, green vegetables, and fruits....like pineapple, pawpaw, watermelon, etc. Also, raise grass-fed meat, eggs, and milk. You can do it....you can produce 10 eggs for your family daily without stress...what about working out feeding your family 3 to 4 chickens weekly instead of buying frozen meat from the market. You can do it. Go learn this.

I used to have a group where I do free training on this stuff. I think I need to do it again to help a lot of people. If you are interested in this....just let me know.....I my consider teaching people again.

This is my quota to help Nigerians during this food shortage crisis.

Less I forget, start gardening so you can live long. 70% of my posts are on this issue. Produce grass-fed meat, eggs, and milk. Eat organic veggies grown without fertilizer and pesticides. Eat more tubers and fewer grains. Engage in weight training and walk a lot. Leave your car at home at times and walk.

You will live happiness and joyfully regardless of what is happening in Nigeria if you work towards this. If you start today, you can achieve it all before the end of Tinubu's first tenure. You will just be smiling when everyone starts hustling during the next presidential election. Guess what? You will see the stupidity in humans running after food and money just for the period of the election....and then...you will even laugh more during his second term (if he gets another term) the way those who sold their votes go hungry. Lol!

The comments here are so worrisome.

How can you even think 4 days of food in the fridge is okay. Mehn! What modernisation has turned us to.

Go start a garden. Eat organic food. Ditch fertilizer and pesticides. Eat grass fed meat and eggs. Do little strength, exercise, and walk. Take spirituality seriously. And overcome all your health challenges.

But the lowest on the pyramid of good health, which is eating good food, is what most are battling with. But the solution is to bull crap modernisation. Nope. Everyone is almost addicted to the modern way of life.

If you open your garden and do what I have recommended above, you will spit out party jollof rice and other rubbish most people display online. Just try it. Your taste bud will change, and your hormones will start working optimally.

This woman has given us all the best advice we should follow. It is our duty to find a way to implement it rather than complain.

I have seen people who deliberately relocated to the village to eat well and breathe in fresh air. After 2 solid year, they were refreshed. It is funny that you are all shouting high costs of food. If you relocate to the village, you get free food, you don't spend on transportation anymore. And your expenses go way down. And you have more income if you start a business there. You can fix satellite Internet, install solar panels for 24/7 power, etc. Just plan well. And if you.csnnot afford it all at the initial stage, do it gradually. If you don't have such luxury in the city, then forget about it in the village. Just go ahead and turn your health around for better.

Go to the village and eat fresh food from your garden.

Good luck to everyone.
