Reasons for delay:
1. purpose of visit
2. Family and Home tie
3. Travel history
4. Personal and financial asset

Submitted:
All CIC doc, employment letter, upfront medical, Wes evaluation, SOP, Salary SOA and Personal SOA etc.
Co sponsor and sponsor(Sister &Brother in law respectively)
Sponsor and Co-sponsor Closing balance...14m & 3m resp.
Paid $10k school fee
Self SOA closing balance 700k

Please any experience fellow to help me on available option I have aside from the PGD knowing well I cant do Msc.
Will Mba be an option with my profile?

Thank you
na wa na real wa!!!! to me you showed enough commitment to being a genuine student. what i noticed about these VOs on pgd/pgc applicants is that, once either of your prev edu or present work experience is not inline, purpose of visit bcoms auto for them to thick, #deepestsigh. the bolded above is the only thing i see that doesnt connect well with ur prev education. the funny thing now is that if u choose mech engr pgd, they might fault it too cox its not inline with ur work experience.

Good morning to everyone, please anyone with information on how to obtain gcms, what are the things I will submit to a friend in canny to obtain it for me.

I was refused on purpose of visit, lack of assets,I studied material and metallurgical engineering, work in a financial institution, records management to be precise, planning to study process quality engineering, more like engineering management at conestoga, pgc

submitted all necessary documents from office, even the Hr stated that the program be needed for me to be transferred to the newly acquired engineering company by the organization.
paid 1st semester tuition fee,2.5m
sponsor not a family, statement of account 10m,outflow -180m,he transferred the money tuition fee to my account like a month before paying
personal statement of account 3.5m
cooperative account 550k
Sorry for the delay, the bolded above seems to form ur purpose of visit reason, your work is not inline with your previous education and though u are going for a related course the VO doesnt see a reason for this cox u dont av experience in the proposed field/ur previous academic history. land docs would av formed a good assets for you, you didnt submit payslips too? all these are just my opinion about ur case i stand to be corrected. get the GCMS file and see the actual reason. all the best

who is saying that 3.74 CGPA is low??....please that CGPA is very ok for admission...the only issue there is the last two years should be more than 80%. some people with 4.00 CGPA with their last two years less than 80% end up not getting admitted....
bro it depends on the course, for some courses its kinda low and for some courses it ok. try to be specific.

I think others have profer possible solution to ur hubby's admission quest. I'll keep you posted on anything that surfaces.

skylar2020:
Hello house @osemigho, Iyalodeofcanada, erayte, megziflips and others.
Pls this was the reason my hubby's application at uni of manitoba was refused.
below was the email sent to his email.

Good morning.  Your application to the coursework MSc program in our department was rejected because your gpa was lower than what the committee was willing to consider.  The coursework program is extremely competitive due to the fact that we only admit a small number of new students each year (this year only 3-4 new students will be accepted).  Therefore, only students with the highest gpa’s will be considered by the committee.

We will probably not be admitting any new students in the Winter term, but if we do it will be one or maybe two new students, if space opens up.  That means that, again, the gpa requirement will be very high.

If you have any further questions please let me know.

Hello all!
I submitted my study application with my family ( 2 kids and hubby) 20th Dec 2016@ VFS Lagos. I did upfront medicals. I tracked my application via the VFS site and got your " processed passport has been sent to CVAC Lagos08/02/2017".
What does this mean please? Should I be worried or excited? I did not get an email ..... Approval email.
I sent an email on Monday to VFS Lagos helpline and got the response" your application is in transit"
The mobile number on their site is not reachable . Please who has a reachable line I could call for VFS Lag??
Anticipating a response.
I wont say u should be worried, u can always hope for the best. truth be told if i was in your shoes i'd apply alone. your hubby and kids would have form a very strong home ties for u and can always join u later wch is easier. all the best, just wait and get ur package.

Did a brief landing in Ontario, dont know much about it but heard it is like civilized lags in naija with many opportunities and many wahala, I guess Victoria is in BC and heard too that it is very expensive to reside there. Can tell you SO MANY things about Calgary cos i reside there.I came to Calgary cos of the prospect in Oil and Gas though very down right now but heard also that it could be very very promising with alot of Jobs when it starts booming.
I prefer Calgary to the above provinces,I am a family man and need a place that is affordable and quiet to raise my kids. Calgarians are very very accommodating people and the city is SIMPLY neat and organised.
Make your research very well based on your intended course of study to see it Ontario will be better for you.

Cheers mate.

Sorry for d delay, were u called for med? If yes, it's quite strange to me though y dey refused u after giving u a med call(dats if u were contacted by CIC). Ur previous education and employment history plays a big role in courses like this, am a pet. Geologist and I know from VO's angle they would like to see how related ur past/present work experience coupled with ur academic history is inline with proposed course of study. If u share ur profile I think the guru's can see from that view.

this is what i will advice you to do, get the msc and the pgd admission, apply for visa with msc, when granted TRV the switch is easier that way. the only thing is that u wud b ready to pay 2 app fees. thats all.

With a Canadian study/work permit, one can actually move in and out of Canada and USA
I disagree with u, if u dont av a valid US visa u cant enter US with ur study permit, u need atleast a B1/B2 visa wch is invariably easy to get from US embassy in canada, from experience of people have seen, they easily issue out B1/B2 visa to int'l student studying in canada.

@ Eratee... When responding to him/her pls let other people know that a part of the reasons why Canada visa takes this long is due to our corrupt nature and then they take extra care and time to fish out the bad eggs... Most embassies may not..... But Canada will!!
Regards
well said bro, i still dont get that aspect very well why pple would just want to be in trouble, like u said the more reason they would dedicate 18-20wks reviewing our applications, they know the situation of Nigeria and they are aware of peoples desperation to leave the country. cox i dont know how someone can prove its innocent when u submit such doc. this is my advice though for any1 reading this, pls when it comes to financial docs DO NOT SUBMIT A FRAUDULENT ONE if they wont vet other docs but SOA is just too high a risk to take.

Lawrence2291:
Good Morning All,

Ive been a silent follower of this thread after I submitted my application for studies on October. I must say you all are doing a nice job especially for experienced member providing others with solutions and useful information.

However, I got this mail few days ago from CIC,

I have reviewed your application and documents you submitted in its support. Subsection 11(1) of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act provides that a foreign national must, before entering Canada, apply to an officer for a visa or any other document required by the Regulations. The visa or document shall be issued if, following an examination, the officer is satisfied that the foreign national is not inadmissible and meets the requirements of this Act.

I have concerns that you have not fulfilled the requirement put upon you by section 16(1) of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act, which states:

16(1) A person who makes an application must answer truthfully all questions put to them for the purpose of the examination and must produce a visa and all relevant evidence and documents that the officer reasonably requires.

In the current application package, you submitted a bank statement purportedly issued by Zenith Bank that has been determined to be fraudulent

Please note that if it is found that you have engaged in misrepresentation in submitting your application, you may be found to be inadmissible under section 40(1)(a) of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act. A finding of such inadmissibility would render you inadmissible to Canada for a period of five years according to section 40(2)(a):

40(1) A permanent resident or a foreign national is inadmissible for misrepresentation (a) for directly or indirectly misrepresenting or withholding material facts relating to a relevant matter that induces or could induce an error in the administration of this Act

40(2) The following provisions govern subsection (1): (a) the permanent resident or the foreign national continues to be inadmissible for misrepresentation for a period of five years following, in the case of a determination outside Canada, a final determination of inadmissibility under subsection (1) or, in the case of determination in Canada, the date the removal order is enforced.

I would like to give you an opportunity to respond to this information. I will afford you fifteen (15) days from the date of this letter to make any representations in this regard. Please use the address noted on this letter for all correspondence, and clearly indicate your file number. If you do not respond to this request within the time outlined above, your application will be assessed based on the information available, which will likely result in a refusal.

Thank you for the interest you have shown in Canada.

Please experts in the house, advice me on what to do. Im confused seeing this email...

Thanks
First and foremost was the statement fraudulent? After honestly answering this I think we can proceed. All d best

Good morning guys, just picked up my package yesterday and I was refused due to insufficient financial resources with a balance of 8million naira o....I am a graduate of agricultural science although I got admission to study sociology(bsc) in Canada coz I've always loved the course.
A guy with a sharp mouth told me yesterday told me they might still not give the visa if I get more money and reapply because sociology is another course entirely different from agriculture.
So my ppu do you think I should ignore him and reapply coz my school already sent me another admission letter for September or I should apply for Msc (although I've tried it with no luck getting a supervisor) thanks
did you declare ur previous bsc (agriculture) in your application? then at what age are you going for another bsc? you need alot to proof to convince the VO.

bsc program always need buoyant financial power over a long period of time, so i wasnt surprised with the reason pointed by the VO, the continuity of your study over the years is wot is considered not your present bal, you must be able to convince the VO with a very sure and good source of money that can take care of ur studies over time. i'll advice you should still give M.sc a shot if ur CGPA is sound.

Hello everyone...

I graduated with a low GPA (about a 2.83/4.00 Canadian scale). I know my chances of getting a masters admission is low, at the same time PGC/D refusal rate is scary.
Now I'm considering taking the GRE to kind of compensate for my low grades but so far all the schools I checked want minimum of 3.0.

I'm a Statistics and Demography major, finished from OAU, will be done with NYSC by April.

I want to do Data Science or something related to Analytics , even Trent and UofWesternOntario want 3.0.. I just don't know what to do.
I think I have a shot at getting admission at University of Fraser Valley Data Analysis PGD program but na trv refusal Dey scare me.

I was wondering if anyone can point me in the direction of schools that might accept my low gpa coupled with GRE.

PS: I'm only asking cos I've exhausted all the list of schools I found online not like I've been idle to do research.

Thanks.
you have a very good chance with pgd/pgc, if you have good and well presented app who says u wont get ur trv approved? have said this quite a number of time on this thread. CIC never said they wont give any1 with pgd/pgc trv if they deserve it.

the issue is we the applicants. imagine an applicant who studied agriculture in UG and now gets a pgc admission for nursing without no experience and u expect that to fly, it will not. the choice of course is what makes it looks as if pgd/pgc dont get approval easily, a friend of mine was approved just 5wks of submitting his app last year, he was a pgd applicant, i think his approval is one of the fastest av seen for pgd so far.

so not to bore u with all this, if you have a good choice of course and a well detailed SOP, pointing out the reasons while u chose the course and stating the prospect of the course on your return from study. i think you do have a good chance. make your application convincing in all aspect and with a good financial power u should be good to go.

like someone said earlier, ur GRE cant take the place of CGPA, these two are two different parameters used by any admission committee in rolling out admission to applicants, they play different roles. i'll even say its better to have a low GRE and av perfect CGPA for admission cox ur low GRE performance can be explained in your SOP but CGPA is a long history of ur academic performance over years, GRE is just few hours exam so any good explanation would fly for the low score in the SOP. all the best.

sorry for the delay, in my opinion i feel is too early to reapply, why not order your GCMS files first and foremost to see clearly those refusal reasons. i feel rushing to reapply by 25th would probably signal ur desperation for the study permit. its just my opinion though. all the best.
