deckonne: Hey guys, I've been following the threads on canada study permit and the information here had been helpful saved me 300k from the hands of agents who know nothing.
I submitted my student visa application on 3 feb 2017, got approval mail from CIC on 23 feb, 2017 for may semester lambton college (Embedded systems engineering design). It's a two year course, i didn't get the two years. I was given a year and 3 months from start of semester because of passport validity. I learnt about the study permit not exceeding validity of the passport way after i had prepared all my documents with the passport number, i was running out of time i had to take the risk since it can be extended.
I did upfront medicals at qlife Submitted the CIC docs, Statement of purpose birth certificates of family members Sponsor's Account statement showing 12m Mother's pension documents 6m Father's Shares documents 100k Sworn affidavit from sponsor Letter of sponsorship from sponsor addressed to VO Mother's birth certificate Document to prove sponsor is my father Study leave application & approval letters Professional reference letter addressed to VO Employment letter Account statement showing paid salaries (balance is 1k) Parents' marriage certificate and documents showing father is next of kin to deceased wife Landed property documents worth 30m Letter of reference from father's employer Father's work ID card Mother's death certificate 1st semester fees receipt Offer letter Virgin passport Documents of previous education & professional certifications (B.Eng Elect/Elect) Prayers.
I'd say put yourself in the VO's shoes and give yourself everything you need to prove that you have enough funds, and you are coming back. congrats bro, this is a divine speed owing to the fact that its a pgd just 20days!!! this should clear the air a bit about pdg/pgc app. urs is the fastest have seen both on this thread and outside this thread. so simple give the right application and u would com back smiling at ur TRV irrespective of the admission you got for ur visa processing. |

ijeaify: Hello people please my question is on university of Canada west I learnt is a private school and also CIC will not give post graduation work permit Even to get visa atimes is not easy. Please how has applied for TRV using this schools admission . I don't think the bolded is true, if a school has DLI number, there's no reason y CIC won't issue visa or pgwp. If you have the requirements for visa application you wud get it. |

ajaokabir: Hello peeps,
My wife submitted a study permit application on January 10, 2017 with upfront medical for summer admission but she got a response to submit a "non conditional letter of acceptance" within 5 working days to avoid been refused.
She swiftly contacted the school UWO to request for this but the school insisted they don't issue that until the conditions on the "conditional letter" are met viz: original transcript and a valid study permit and that the initial letter was prepared in conjuction with Cic and should suffice for granting a study permit. Transcript have since been processed.
Please gurus, advise on the next line of action. Thanks Just relate the response from the school to them (CIC). U can also forward the mail to them. |

DereI: Hello All,
Good afternoon. I have followed this thread since Part 1 and knew that soon, I'll be posting mine here too.
So after applying to two schools in Canada (Algonquin College, Ottawa & Camosun College, Victoria BC), I finally got an Acceptance letter from Camosun College today to study Post-Degree Diploma in Business Administration, Human Resource Management & Leadership Option and this is where it begins.
I have created a profile on CIC website and gotten the Checklist of documents to be submitted.
Hopefully by monday next week, I should pay the Initial deposit for the school in order to receive the LOA. I believe ur UG is inline with ur proposed course of study/work experience? |

opeyeminas: Thanks so much for ur quick response to my post. The problem am facing now is my laptop containing my SOP crashed months ago and I don't have extra hard copy which means am left with only my Gcms to use as evidence. And is it that I will have to get a lawyer to reply them or I will reply on my own because have read something about getting a lawyer to reply for applicants in cases like this. Thanks bro you dont need SOP and lawyer for now, your case is quite different. with your GCMS notes and previous refusal letters coupled with a well explainable mail would be okay for u. going for a lawyer is long thing on my part. you can actually do this yourself bro. all the best. be swift with your response to CIC. |

opeyeminas: Good afternoon guys. Woke up to this mail this morning and this is the biggest mistake I have ever made in my life, hope it won't cost me this visa after all the stress I went through. What are my chances of getting visa after replying them with prove in my SOP stating I was previously refused Visa on 2 separate occasion with reasons attached and I even include my GCMS which should also serve as evidence that it was just a mistake I made out of negligence. Help will be appreciated Asap because am being given 15day to reply. Thanks a brother in need. I think your case shouldnt be a problem to tackle. where God saved you is the inclusion of your GCMS file in your app, just reply them that it was an error of omission stating that you even attached your GCMS note, so its an evidence you are not trying to cover anything. I think you should be good on this part. reply them asap and you can also include your refusal letter and the GCMS note in the mail. |

Austinpee4: Yes it is possible. Msc and pgd are at the same level of education of POST-Secondary but there are conditions to it. You MUST be enrolled at a designated learnin institution (DLI) and be actively pursuing your studies which means you have to enter canada and meet all the conditions on your study permit. Applying for a study permit with Msc and changing to PGD even before meeting the above conditions MAY be considered FALSE information.
They expect that you meet the condition on your current study permit first before you transfer to another school.
You can find this and more information here http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/study/study-changes.asp well said sir. all fully understood. God bless |

Can I still upload the police certificate as additional docs after 3 weeks of submission because I have it with me? Pls ur opinion matters actually if u can still upload it i'll say u should. police character is required by CIC via either online or paper route. the thing is it doesnt stop u from gettingg your TRV. we have seen alot of people approved on this thread without this doc. since you have it, i'll advice u upload it if u can, am not familiar with online application. |

Austinpee4: Congrats again! I remember you shared your good news. If your new course is still in the same school and the same level, you don't have to notify CIC because there is no change in DLI. But if your new course is in another school and at the same level, you will have to notify CIC and transfer your DLI.
CBSA officers will only be interested in your Institution (DLI) and level of study. These two must be same with what you applied for your study permit with.
They won't ask for your undergrad degree nau to find out if it's inline with the new course in your offer letter at the POE. Only your offer letter will be requested. So just make sure your new program is in the same school and same level. @Austinpee4 is it possible to get TRV with Msc and then change your program to pgd after approval? remember the DLI and level of study has changed. pls can u just share more light on this. thanks |

justwise: Bank statement and balance on it it's not always about inflow and outflow, in most cases it matters not.
When presenting bank statement for student visa application the two most important things here are:
1.The amount on it..does it cover your fees and maintenance for a year?
2. The source of that money.. can the applicant defend the source of that money with paper evidence? This is not about presenting fat bank balance and wrote pages of stories without clearly presenting evidence how you made that money.
Study permit is not been refused because of lack of inflow and outflow but because people don't convince the embassy that the money will be available for use in Canada You just nailed it, if am a VO as u just pointed out now and i see an acc of 40M, I wud lik to see some evidence like property documents, CAC if that sponsor is an employer and every other thing that could amount to that sum stated in d SOA. Thanks for d analysis. |

nairalandnewbie: Good Day,
I was advised by my friend to join the blog and read up on my study permit requirement but i'm a bit lost as to where to start from to get the requisite information i need at the moment. The thread is quite long.
Just a background story: I am a law graduate and I've been called to bar for about three years.I'm currently working and I have about 18 months post nysc work experience. I'm interested in traveling to Canada for a new career path in business. However, due to the high tuition rate for MBA i opted for a diploma in Business administration. I have an online business which i have managed personally for about 2 years and has yielded lot of returns and i would like to gain more knowledge and better business skills hence my interest in Business. I applied to Lakeland college and Assiniboine community college. I have gotten a letter from both colleges. I intend to start my visa application by March but I don't want to make any mistake. Hence my long talk
Now these are my questions: 1. Due to limited funds as requested by CIC, I intend to use my employer as sponsor (which my boss has agreed to) but i'm a bit skeptical about it because i think it will be frowned out. ( A law firm sponsoring an employee for a business diploma for 2 years) doesn't look feasible to me. what do u guys think? 2.Can i please get a link to checklist of the required documents for the visa application. 3. A letter of explanation format, please do you have any? 4. Do you think it is wise to include the fact that i have an online business in my letter? 5. Do you think i should state the high tuition rate for mba has the reason for my diploma choice? 6. As regards financial support, should i use my employer or look for funds n transfer same to my mum's account and use hers instead? 7. Is the funds indicated meant to be fixed or recurring?( should there be a fixed amount or they just need to see constant flow of cash? 8. Should i go ahead and apply for my study permit with the letter of acceptance?
Thank you for taking time to read my message; i know it is quite lengthy God Bless. deepest sigh, you need the *TRV doctor* @michV am still an UG in TRV surgery so make doctor first answer, like the moniker above said, same goes to me, i have a lot to say by just to reduce confusion, let the experienced one first tackle this.. be patient |

flyboi1: hey everyone.
i applied to 3 schools for fall 2017 resumption - 1 college and 2 universities.
I just got my acceptance letter from the College- program is Prof. Financial services. (it was sent since December but i never got it. after several follow ups, i finally got it today from the school's west African representative.)
My undergraduate degree was in Banking and Finance. 3 yrs Banking experience also.
Is it advisable i start my TRV application with this, or i just wait for the universities(MBA)? i will advice u to wait for that MBA, u have better chance applying with that. |

wealth360: Hmmmmmm. Remember ooooo. The money was transferred to the future applicant sister and from there the sister want to transfer to the applicant. we need to be careful about this. because if you use your her as sponsor how well is her account in term of money inflow and outflow? do not just use her account becos she transferred money to you. Please check the past 6 month of her account statement and make sure it is good anof for applying and then ask your sister if she has all things like the documents listed above. Goodluck well said, the bold will not count if the inflow and outflow of his sister's account is good enough to stand as a sponsors acc. thanks bro for viewing from that angle, i hope the moniker reads this to make good decision as to what to do. |

Newman1010: Please House, i need help with the following questions:
Is it safe to use "Blood Sister" as sponsor? She has transferred equivalent of tuition + 10k CAD to my brothers account. Her husband is the actual sponsor but the credit came from her account.
Will it be best to use her as Sponsor or should he state that the sponsor is his in-law?
If its okay to state her, do we need any back up document?
After the transfer to his account, how long before he applies?
Must he pay part of the fees? I would have preferred to pay but the school is suggesting that we use FLYWIRE. This process means getting funds from aboki. The rate is mad. We would have preferred Form A.
Thanks Fam @justwise, thesoj, MichV, Eraytee etc i need help From my own point of view use ur sister as sponsor since the money is coming from her account. All u need is to provide sponsorship letter, affidavit of sponsor, property docs if she has one, SOA and any other documents that can support her sponsorship in terms of finances. If dere is CAC doc include all. Her birth certificate too showing her name b4 she got married would proof ur relationship with her. As per ur payment, that fly wire I don't really know much about it, am conversant with Form-A. The gurus should profer any suggestions they have as regards that. |

Austinpee4: Just a piece of advise for guys previously refused for insufficient fund to paid tuition and support yourself.
If you intend to pay your tuition(part or full), great idea. If you intend to transfer the cash (naira) into your account, endeavour to use a CURRENT account in your name. Saw a GCMS note sometime ago and the VO major concern was that huge funds were transfered to PA's SAVINGS account and he/he was worried PA can remove the money at once to pay for tuition because of the limit of transactions placed on NAIRA savings account.
They obviously know all the banking regulations, be smart too. They know FORM A or any convertible currency transactions will be in a current account.
Anywhere, his visa was approved today. What did he do differently? Transferred equivalent of his tuition + $CAD 10,000 to his current account ONLY!
#If you really need to know the main reason for a visa refusal, get your GCMS file. It's an eye opener! Pls the bolded is not true, during my 1st app i paid 14100CAD from my UBA savings account via formA. This i can testify to. Pls once u r not running a student account u can actually pay a huge amount. D money was ova 2.3M den wen USD was still 190 per $ |
