You can renew your passport in Canada before expiration of your visa and extend your visa prior to completing your studies. You can go ahead and apply for your visa, you are good to go THANKS alot am grateful |

poppywasiu: @folaroyal and others please i have a big issue please help me out. i refused in US visa twice but i am not stated it in my application. see down below of what i recieved for accra, canada embassy.
Dear Wasiu Popoola:
I have reviewed your application and documents you submitted in its support. Subsection 11(1) of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act provides that a foreign national must, before entering Canada, apply to an officer for a visa or any other document required by the Regulations. The visa or document shall be issued if, following an examination, the officer is satisfied that the foreign national is not inadmissible and meets the requirements of this Act.
I have concerns that you have not fulfilled the requirement put upon you by section 16(1) of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act, which states:
16(1) A person who makes an application must answer truthfully all questions put to them for the purpose of the examination and must produce a visa and all relevant evidence and documents that the officer reasonably requires.
On the current application form, you indicate that you have never been refused any kind of visa, admission, or been ordered to leave Canada or any other country. According to information in our records, you were refused a visa to the United States in 2014 and 2015.
Please note that if it is found that you have engaged in misrepresentation in submitting your application, you may be found to be inadmissible under section 40(1)(a) of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act. A finding of such inadmissibility would render you inadmissible to Canada for a period of five years according to section 40(2)(a):
40(1) A permanent resident or a foreign national is inadmissible for misrepresentation (a) for directly or indirectly misrepresenting or withholding material facts relating to a relevant matter that induces or could induce an error in the administration of this Act
40(2) The following provisions govern subsection (1): (a) the permanent resident or the foreign national continues to be inadmissible for misrepresentation for a period of five years following, in the case of a determination outside Canada, a final determination of inadmissibility under subsection (1) or, in the case of determination in Canada, the date the removal order is enforced.
I would like to give you an opportunity to respond to this information. I will afford you fifteen (15) days from the date of this letter to make any representations in this regard. Please use the address noted on this letter for all correspondence, and clearly indicate your file number. If you do not respond to this request within the time outlined above, your application will be assessed based on the information available, which will likely result in a refusal.
Thank you for the interest you have shown in Canada.
Regards,

Oladimejii: Hi guys,
Been following this thread for sometime. I just got admitted at the Centre of Geographic Sciences, Nova Scotia Community College to study an Advanced Diploma Degree in Geographic Information Science. I chose this school even though it is located in a village in far eastern Canada because of its reputation. The school is often regarded as the best in geomatics education in the whole of Canada.
My Profile.
1. I'm a graduate of Geography (Graduated with a 2.1) back in 2009. 2. I have been working for the Lagos State Government for 7 Years now (Joined in 2010). 3. I did my Masters (Geographic Information Systems) at the University of Lagos. (I didn't declare this in my application and I don't intend to declare when applying for trv either) 4. I did a short course at the National Space Research and Development Agency in GIS and Remote Sensing back in 2013. 5. Shortly after this course, I did a GIS project at my place of work. This earned me an "employee of the year award". (I intend to include this in my SOP stating the award inspired me to learn more). 6. My main sponsor will be an uncle (Dad's younger brother, same surname). My Dad will be a secondary sponsor. 7. I'm married with a son. 8. First of three kids of my parents as well as the only son. I also manage their rental properties ( Homes and a Shops). Rents are paid into my account.(Dad stated this in his support letter). 9. I have a study permit from the Lagos state Government (my employer) for the duration of my studies.
My Questions.
1. Based on my profile above, what are my chances of getting a trv? 2. I intend to apply with my family. I intend to apply first then apply for theirs after I get mine. How do I go about this? 3. School resumes in September. Can I start my study permit application now? 4. Online or paper?
I'd welcome hearing from you guys. God bless you. And for people expecting their trvs.. it will come in Jesus name.
Ola. 1. I think a pgc/pgd is better for u considering ur level of education and work experience, adv diploma is lower dan ur bsc. 2. Get ur TRV approved first before discussing that, one step at a time. 3. Yes u can. 4. Any of the routes is ok, it all ur choice bro Regards. |

You and I know ao competitive our course is, u just av to continue to push for it. If u av work experience wud av adviced u to go for a pgd or pgc program bcox of d issue of getting a supervisor for most cases in msc or PhD admsn. Also if ur cgpa is good at Msc level and u av a good research proposal I think u shud give PhD a shot. Its all about interest. Someone lik me doesn't need a PhD for now, with my work experience in the industry, so am going for a pgd in petroleum engineering technology, my msc was in petroleum geology/sedimentology. |
Travel › Re: Travelling To Canada Part 11 by Eraytee: 5:06pm On Jan 04, 2017 |
thesoj: I'll have to disagree with @toluene1234 here. It is extraordinarily unlikely (though not impossible) to get a visa with a closing balance lower than your annual costs (tuition +$10k CAD). Yes, once in a while we see a candidate or two get approved with a lower balance but this is far away the exception. CIC clearly states that they need to see this amount on the sponsor's bank statement (and/or other liquid funds e.g. brokerage, fixed deposit, etc), violating this requirement is an almost guaranteed way to get denied for "insufficient funds", particularly given the anemic state of the Nigerian economy.
Admittedly, good inflows on a bank statement show financial capability but this is only valuable to the extent that the sponsor has enough liquid funds at least equal to the CIC requirement. Submitting an app with finances below the CIC requirement is gambling, and your probability of losing that gamble is greater than 90%. I agree with ur point here, d only exception i av is wen u pay a yr tuition fees with that kind of balance u won't have any problem concerning finances. Paying ur fees in full is not a guarantee for visa but goes far wen evaluating ur financial power. |
Travel › Re: Travelling To Canada Part 11 by Eraytee: 4:58pm On Jan 04, 2017*. Modified: 5:35pm On Jan 04, 2017 |
thesoj: I'll have to agree with @Austinpee4 here. The probability of visa denial is much much much higher when the program one is going for is lower than one's highest educational attainment. Having said this, it is not impossible to get a TRV in such situations (as @Eraytee said, the applicant in this situation has to have a very tight and extra convincing app for this to happen). I'd suggest anyone reading this to recognize that it is the exception, and not the norm, to get a TRV for a program that is below your highest educational qualification. So then wot do we say to pgc applicants here? Cox i can say 95% of this applicants have a bsc wch is higher than d so called pgc/pgd. The reason behind ur studying is what matters if am working in a servicing company in oil and gas firm phd is not a must or even needed after ur msc, but certificate courses are necessary to equip n broaden ur knowledge. If wot u said must b fully true den i fink d pgc/pgd applicants here with bsc shud not b approved. Cases are different thats all I bliv. CIC should have said don't apply for programs below ur highest level of education. If ur proposed program is inline with ur previous academic history or work experience , I think u av a chance wen u submit a convincing and well packaged application. |

@khloepatra3...... For any person that is an applicant... Your strongest/primary ties to your home country remains; your immediate family (spouse and children), immediate-extended (aged parents) and present employment.
Your landed fixed properties, siblings and verifiable investment are secondary ties.

Austinpee4: Your purpose of visit will be questioned at any attempt to apply for a study permit with an advanced diploma. This is a NO NO! One thing to note is that, gaining admission is one thing and getting a study permit is another. You have a bsc and an msc..A diploma is NOT an academic progression for you considering your academic level. If you choose to apply for a masters instead, you may which to leave out the previous one you got out totally in your study permit application while explaining circumstances surrounding any academic gap(s). Choose a program that is best related to your previous education and study interest and relate this to your situation as you show a progression academically and career wise. I think i will disagree with you on that, i av a friend who's a geologist, and had msc in petroleum geology and presently at SAIT for a 2yrs pgd in petroleum engineering technology, he declared his msc and was given TRV. Every1's case is different, phd or msc is not a must, if u av a good SOP and and a tite app u'll get ur TRV. |
