nekkyblues:
Hi guys, for police certificate, I am supposed to present one if I have lived in a country for at least 6 months in the last 10 years.

I did my masters program outside Nigeria (Benin Republic) - 2015/2016.

Does it mean I’ll have to provide police certificate from that country asides the one I’ll get from Nigeria?

Its quite funny that people stress on what is not required, for your case you dont have any problem using your old work experience, all you need is just let your ref. letter state that you were paid in cash. if you use your current work experience (2yrs), you cant get the maximum point for work experience which is three years. No one asked us to provide pay slip or offer letter, these docs might be requested by a visa officer for clarity purpose... a lot have submitted just ref letter without any other thing and PPR was given. keep your application simple the best way you can. @bold i'd advice you to use the 4yrs experience... keep it simple and easy

clow:
Hello all,
Please I have two work experience; My old place place of work and then current place of work.
For my old place I have 4 years experience and my current place just 2 years
i intend to base my application with my old place of work because my job description there matches a particular Noc,just yesterday i thought about using my current place of work because i have payslip and proof of salary lodgments (Bank statement),I cant provide that for my former place as we were paid in cash.
when I based my application on my current place of work even with just 2 years experience, my crs did not drop. please do you advise i continue in that manne

@bold is not true for all, Maybe only in Nigeria Universities, but outside naija there is transcripts because you will even do coursework before you start your research fully. this is my own case

Tope235:

Transcripts are not issued for PhD holders, He needs a Proof of Award Letter or a letter of conferral. It is a must.

If getting it at the said time wont be a problem... then you should wait and if otherwise get it now.

Good afternoon House.

please I am still starting out the whole process. want to conclude my ECA and IELTS next month before creating a profile. However, due to the covid-19 economic impact, I just lost my job

Should I quickly request for a reference letter from my company now, or I should hold on till when it is needed sometime next year in the course of the application.

Thanks

Thanks for the clarification ednut1, I believe you are enjoying Canada grin..

ednut1:
language = 16 points, bsc =21 points , work experience 2-3 years = 11, age 18 to 35 =12 points making 60/100. It depends on the person too, if he has relatives in canada that is 5 more points, or work experience above 3 years equals more points too.

@bold is somehow to me. I want to understand you very well, so Bsc holders with 6666 in LRWS are ineligible? How? i do understand they wont be competitive in the pool but saying they are not eligible is some how confusing... if you have a link to back this kindly provide it, so that people in that shoe can comprehend more

55emem55:

You people just like to argue shaaaa.
Minimum is 6666 if you have masters or 2 or more certificates, you can swim in the pool.

But with Bsc only, and 6666 in IELTS, you are ineligible and aint going no where.

That is why we tell people to focus on having 8777 to be safe and so that they can at least enter the pool even though their CRS scores may not be high enough.

So whether you have Bsc, 2 or more certificates or masters, just focus on having 8777 to be on a safer side. Or if your power can carry you, max out.
Travel / Re: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program - Connect Here Part 9 by Eraytee: 5:43pm On Aug 25, 2020
if you observe closely the CLB chart, once you dont meet the minimum score allocated with a particular CLB irrespective of your high score in other bands, you will fall below the threshold... reason while 8777 is greater than 9996 in LRWS order... study the charts and understand it well. so ednut1 is right

Rach622:

L 8.5
R 6.5
W 6.0
S 7.5

This is CLB7? And

L 9.0
S 9.0
R 9.0
W 6.0 is also CLB 7??

I don't understand

From your explanation there is no problem as regards this, i'd advice you to process her new passport in her married name since you have the newspaper publication. Since you have not started the process of WES and IELTS (am assuming),. when you want to submit your application, a simple LOE to describe her situation is enough. VOs do understand all this things, they are not robots. it doesn't matter if her bank name differs from the married name. all this is what you would just point out in LOE. you will be fine that am sure of. dont go through the stress of trying to change her name from work place and if you have started let it be in process while you carry on with your own part of the application, the official name change you did covers all discrepancies as regards her name inconsistency. my spouse too did same thing which is explanatory enough.

olayinkareal1:

Okay let me give you my true case, I guess it's quite different from yours.

I'm married with a kid, we're just about to commence the whole process. Myself and my wife had a passport before we got married which are both expired now, we are just about doing a new one which is one of the reasons for my question, what name do you advise to be put on her passport, maiden or married?

My wife in the lead applicant, she works with the govt, although, she has purchased the evidence of change of name document, newspapers publication and also requested that her name be changed to her married name at her place of work, because she's a civil servant, the process is getting really slow and we do not know when the change will be effected. Consequently, she couldn't submit those docs to her bank as it will affect her salary inflow based on name inconsistent.

Based on the above scenario, would you advise we start all our process from passport level using her married name, Knowing full well that her POF from bank will carry her maiden name as well as her reference letter from work?
Or she should begin the process using her maiden name to avoid the discrepancy? But truly we actually plan having a uniform name.

Please and please i'm really confused, advise me on what to do, I don't wanna make mistakes. Thanking you in anticipation.

E no balance at all, who could believe a university grad (Bsc) have lesser point compared to a poly grad in this journey... time and chance happened to both aforementioned

Kekereekun123:
some laughed at those who went to poly. They have 2 or more degree now. Someone here who has deactivated got ppr in 2018. With noun masters and nysc experience. Many told her Noun was a waste of time. Life no just balance

exactly what I told him, he would write another one with MOD after the lockdown.

NanaF:

It is possible it was withheld that long because of the great disparity between his other scores and writing, It is likely that it’s already been reviewed by another exam. I would encourage him to not waste time any more and write another one.

OMG!!!! this is a costly mistake, I hope your CRS is high enough to secure you another ITA. its well shocked

Guys in the house, kindly assist me on what to do as i erroneously picked decline instead of apply for acceptance of invitation for express entry.

Thanks a lot I hope they give him the opportunity to apply for remark, he already sent mail again to ask for a possibility of remark, he was told they would ask from a superior officer, my friend is just stubborn he should have taken the exam again all this while. its a sad something. undecided

niyogeol:
Yes. Remark is possible. It is from the day the result is released that the 6 weeks grace of applying for remark start counting. This is really sad. How would they investigate result for 10 freaking months. So despite all the camera in test centre in Europe, they still thought he cheated. So pathetic.

If he has the cash to gamble with, he can go ahead to apply for a remark and also make plans to write another. It beggars belief that someone with L 9, R 9, and S 8.5 would score a miserly 6 in Writing. I think it is evident from this that whoever marked the writing did so out of malice.

Anyone with an idea to this?

Eraytee:
Hello everyone, please i want to ask a question on behalf of a friend of mine. Last year july 2019 we both sat for ielts exam in the same venue. Result came out and I made my scores (remarked writing from 6-7 band). His result was withheld for like 10 months, after several mails to BC with same story of the result being under scrutiny. He gave up by December 2019 and stopped asking for the result. Yesterday he got a mail from BC that the result had been released with 9,9,6,8.5 in LRWS order. He was so sure of what he wrote.

Please is it possible to ask for a remark? Note he has a new release date (14th May 2020) of the exam. I advised him to retake the exam but he wants to push for a remark. Please is it possible to get a remark of an exam withheld for 10months?

PS: we wrote somewhere in Europe.
