How am I suposed to know, I have never owned a ford or anything close and have not seen the modules within a ford Engine, if I had mayB I would be able to throw some lights,however I have owned a Rover 75 and a BMW 5 series and my bro owned a jaguar S type.
If you check what SDD means you will find out that the jag and the RR use the same software.
ALl the Diesel rover 75 where BMW Engines

The whole Engine of the last 2 years built in the Eu was same as teh 5 series of same year.

Fort Dunlop overlooks Jaguar Land Rover premises..but I would like to understand more sir, how Jaguar cars use the same gear box as Range Rover Sport These are vehicles designed for completely different

None is built on any car's platform, from the Rolls Roys to Bently to Austin martin or Ford or Vauxhall or jaguar, the list goes on!

Except that Bentley is now VAG, and Rolls-Royce is now BMW. Apart from the Mulsanne and Phantom which are on bespoke platforms, I believe other cars from those companies use modified existing VAG and BMW platforms.

Also, you can't compare a Rolls-Royce to a regular car. No one is putting 100k miles on a Rolls-Royce. No one is taking a Rolls-Royce to a random mechanic.

Even then Astons are hardly the beacons of reliability, even compared to other exotic cars.

The company was sold does not mean the Engineering changed, They are still British Inventions! just like Electricity.
You seem to forget, the British made more brand of cars more than anyone else

Think carefully and get back to me. I don't quite think they're bad cars, don't get me wrong. They supposedly drive excellently, and the ones I've been in have had pretty solid interiors for their time, and great ride quality.

But all of that doesn't matter if at the end of the day, your car leaves you stuck somewhere--or carrying out a simple fix requires considerably more work than a similar car.

No sane man will tell you that British cars aren't good drivers car, but British engineering is even worse than German engineering, and those cars are filled with complicated mechanical and electrical designs. Una dey shout Nissan Nissan for here, but I go dey laugh. There are much worse cars in terms of dumb electromechanical designs.

Read not for reading sake, but to comprehend.

you are naming British cars as bad Engineering, you seem to forget the Rolls Roys, Austin martins and the Bentleys of this world are all British Engineering!

I love the way it drives; powerful, quiet and all that. Issue you will mainly have is that it's not a car a lot of technicians like. It's a car that may require more to work on. Just to refill AC refrigerant, you have to take the car up in the air. That will give you an idea.

I was actually scolding heavenlybang for putting jag in same weight as Benz cause since I have known jag, it is as rare to come by even Rolls Royce is more common than it.

in secondary school one of my level class mate driver comes to pick him up in the ugliest car I have seen at tender age it's that jaguar Xj 1990s model with V8 engine, I just know it has cream leather seat and Formica and the knobs well placed but I didn't know much about cars then so I judged it from the outward look

I still don't like those oldies jaguar design anyway

But the type-S R only has the J33S or J34 4.2L V8 supercharged engine identical to the range Rover.

if other parts work with Range Rover then anybody using this car is Rich oooo, cause range Rover parts sef no be beans

hence I was laughing the jag is not cheap, and its not rubbish in design, its far more sophisticated.

water is recommended for every vehicle all-over the world, it is now left for you to decide whether to use coloured chemicals as coolant or not.

Never put bare water into your radiator.it will corrode your radiator. plus bare water has a lower broiling point than most coolant.

Hi nairalanders,

I bought my BMW 525i on this forum but I haven't been enjoying that car as I expected.

Issue is 1. Battery drains and car wouldn't start if left for 24hrs of recent. Now sef I have to drive it in a day to get it started next day. Diagnostic scan picked 4 fault DME...Head not coded correctly appear on dashboard.

2. Full lights doesn't on per say...only one bulb on and fog lights. Mechanics here in Ibadan have proven to be incompetent.

Even considering of sell the car sef cuz I hate stress. Please help. I could share the diagnostic reports with you if you don't mind.

Any assistance on resolving issue, in Ibadan?

wen U put car o n reverse does ur reverse sensors work?
Does ur front window wind up and down?
does ur reverse light come on?
does ur full light stay on or do not come up at all?
