well I'm pretty clued up about Engines unlike yourself.The 1st group of mechanics that worked on that car killed it and misdiagnosed it, how can a cat converter be the reason for Engine refusal to start?
I will re-ask you, what do you understand by rigging an Engine??

So in your mind, once your car start letting out smoke the answer is to buy another Engine and please and please stop using the word NEW when you say replace Engine cos you are buying another Engine near its End of life.

Let me give you a personal experience, I got one of those Jeep Liberty and the Mrs uses it now and then to go to the village, on one such journey the car parked up and the engine refuses to turn over, all mechanics says another engine,I refused and insisted on opening the Engine to see if it needs a replacement which I know will only happen if the block was bad. Turns out the crankshaft bearings were fried as loss of oil increased the temperature,.The major culprit was the Oil pump which parked up. So Standard crankshaft and bearing bought, new Oil pump, I mean brand new, and I used the opportunity to change the timing chain and its guard as a pack, rear main seal changed and ofcus new gaskets for top cylinder and main seal. Now as we speak 60% of that Engine is 0miles and brand new.

This question was not meant for my understanding alone but for a whole load of people who are inquisitive. As a salesperson, you must not shy away from selling your product verbally or online if not people will think you do not have a clue of what you are saying/doing.

my power steering pump got spoilt. BMW E36, it power steering pump is aluminium, so can't be repaired, so which car power steering would fit it. It uses fan belt to turn the power steering pump, M43 engine, four cylinder

Buy an exact replacement, do not put untold stress on your already old Engine!

Hello people,

I need help troubleshooting a possible electrical fault in a 2012 HONDA PILOT.

Vehicle suddenly starts to drain battery life rapidly.
Day 1:
- Vehicle worked perfectly okay the day before and was parked but failed to start in the morning.
- Got a battery (battery #2) to jump-start and drove for about 1hr to destination. I returned to the vehicle after about 3hrs and it failed to start.
- Got another battery (battery #3) to jump start, drove home and parked it till next day.

Day 2:
- Sent my battery (battery #1) for charging and hired a battery (battery #4) to use for the period. Installed rented battery, drove about 30mins to destination, turned off engine, returned to vehicle about 20mins later and it wouldn't start. ignition lights comes on but wouldn't start.
- Removed the rented battery and started the car with a borrowed battery (battery #5), disconnected the leads while engine running (to test alternator) and it didn't go off - Alternator okay?
- Put back the hired battery (#4) and drove the vehicle home, disconnected the leads and parked overnight.

Day 3:
- Put back the leads, battery terminal sparking indicating battery power, dashboard lights comes on but still wouldn't start.

I think i may have eliminated alternator and battery as the issue and may have other electrical problem.
Is this correct by the steps outlined above?
Is there other steps I could perform to ascertain the problem?

Any recommendation for someone to help with electrical fault diagnosis.

Vehicle is in Lekki-Ajah axis.

To clear the air more time. This time with my call with her husband last night before all this started. Again with the permission of the admins here.

Point 1: She claimed we never agreed.
Point 2: All she have said to me as confirmed by her husband is that they haven't started her job.

Nigeria has run aground and there is no recovery, the only way this country can survive is a peg on birthrate, so its available infrastructure/resources can keep holding while it becomes excess overtime, which would propel employment and eradicate poverty. (eg, china one child policy that lasted 35 years 1980 - 2015, the period of Chinese boom)

We assume Nigeria was better in the past, it was not better, the resources and infrastructure could only sustain the then population alongside corruption and still have leftovers.. with comfort comes population.. that is why developed worlds dont joke with taxes, the richer you get, the higher you pay, so you never get comfortable to excess breed. But here, we barely have taxes and religious doctrines on birth control overshadows logic and common sense.

We bred much more than the resources and infrastructure could carry alongside our world renowned corruption.. now we are in a mess, because we barely have the resources and infrastructure we use to have when we were even assumed comfortable, but left with an unguarded massive population of a developed world.. (case study: how come Nigerians felt better on all ramifications during Obasanjo's admin despite oil sold at $21, Abacha's at $10 etc)

Am not a doomsayer, but The only and fastest way forward for Nigeria, is to go backwards. If we continue this way, we would only end up with a very terrible unabating civil conflict (insecurity, banditry, kidnapping, scammers, grandscale corruption and eventually maybe internal war from casting blames) when the centre can no longer hold because everyone would be scrambling for anything and everything..
