There is nothing wrong in the postponement of a general election however for it to be postponed less than 24 hours begs for reasonable explanation is matter of national security or life and death. The last FG gave us 7 days notice and sited security reasons for thier actions.

Good Moves by the Lagos state government, I'm worried about the continuity of the project in the long run this is Nigeria any thing is possible. Technology is the only solution to most the problems we are having in the country, I believe open source projects are the best.

Projects of this type have enthusiast who are willing to add value by contributing to the development and usability, I don't stay in Lagos but this project shouldn't be handled by the VIO team alone the tech guys, drivers, agberos, artisans would contribute and progress would be made.

The problem here is that the project would be limited to some people and the team handling the project would be looking at the monetary aspect rather than development to the society, forgetting aside Ikeja and Lagos environs the entire country would require the Automatic Number Plate Recognition for safe drive and societal development.

Ahead of the elections on Saturday, February 16th (tomorrow), men of the Nigeria Police Force have apprehended some suspected political thugs in Akwa Ibom state.

According to police report, the suspects including a woman were arrested at D'Angelo Hotel, in Ewet Housing Estate, Uyo, Akwa Ibom.

The hotel is said to be owned by Hon Isantim Kenneth Okon, a former chairman, Etinan local government area of the state.

The suspects were paraded at the police station, after being nabbed following a tip-off.

Investigation into the matter is still underway.

According to the police, these individuals including a Nigerian man identified as Taiwo Oladunjoye - are wanted in connection to (unrelated) violent crimes including very serious assaults.

Detective Superintendent Lee Hill, said: “Some of the incidents in question have seen victims with some extremely serious injuries and we are asking the public to be additional eyes and ears to help us locate these people.
