Ok if you noticed, I have not pinned my post on one car, its in genral .Im not only having a go at you but all who deal cars on here.Look I have done all parts of car Biz,so Im not new when I was in my late 20s new in Europe we dey ship 10 to 15 cars once nothing do us.But there is a reason I stopped selling cars,I think its a waste unless pre ordered and it would be for close friends and fam.That apart,Im not just targetting you, not at all,I for one do not know you in person.I only know few person from here in real life.NO from past post you would have seen dead car woken up only to be sold as accident free, Im sure you must agree with me on this one.So to this end I would also like to share the other part of the biz with you since you are not an importer but sales person.cos i understand that the true stat of the car might not be made known to you.
Now If I was you Mr X calls me he has a car he want to sell @ xy% to me after sales and gives you prize range, do a VIN check yourself to establish true stat of car.re-evaluate sale prize armed with this new info, if Importer refuse to buldge, protect your name and move to a next car.
But if importer agrees with you the by all means list VIN and all Info,VIN is not free, however some services offered here are very cheap ie N2k, and more are way cheap.
I would be happy to buy a car with rear impact fixed right now than buying a car fixed and later find out it has side impact.

Well you might be right there.The fault if any your car might have does not neccary mean its undrivable in 9ja, simply put, it wont pas a smog or MOT test abroad.60% of cars in 9ja wont pass MOT test.Dont 4get we have no issue about cars imported the only issue as simple as it may seem is this POST FULL DISCLOSURE OF YOUR CAR BEING SOLD PERIODThere is no need for long thing, well some dealers are complying as we speak and we wish them ones happy sales.weather car bad or flood or smashed, people will always buy, We need Honest people to facilitate this,We should not be made to derv deep into your personal matter as dealer.Just do your bit full vehicle stat and VIN, people will still buy.

1.can never be issued to an individual (unless he owns a dismantling certificate and has a site for it ie junkyard )
2 .U won't find such cars on auction sites
3.cars which do not sell on Auction sites go straight to scrap yard .
Now for how these cars come out like that Toyota . I can xplain
Now cars which goes fru this process are not always bad.they ain't . But what happens hee is this.I go to scrap yard . See this car that's is going to be destroyed . I offer to buy it.I tow it to a shipping yard . Export it as part cos It now has a title of Distruction . Gets to Nigeria . Fixed if there is anything to be fixed 5 hen sold on.
Now it is worthy to note . Not all car that has this title is bad . .But this main post has nothing to do with cars with certificate of Distruction rather ones with salvage titles . Now that being said . For your car to have a certificate of Distruction it must be
1 very old
2 faulty not worth the fix
3 salvaged beyond repair and did not sell at auction .
4 disputed so as local authority could not auction it only option was to scrap it
To this end ie number 4 . I will show a pic of a Mercedes that is going to be destroyed for a simple reason . Local authorities in the UK are not allowed to Auction foreign vehicles .

Im coming back on this matter, I need to do something ASAP

* Vehicle titles defer from state to state. VA calls theirs ‘Non repairable titles’ NY does NOT issue salvage titles, they call theirs ‘NY-MV907A’, Wisconsin call theirs ‘junking certificates’ and so on and so forth..

* If that pathfinder was in a diff state, it would NOT have a certificate of destruction most likely. Now, that pathfinder is a 2002 model with 177k miles actual, and the vehicle is available for sale in Lagos and it does not have a single issue, just the dent on trunk, which was fixed. I mean, copart claimed the vehicles primary damage was ‘front end’ but I’m sure you can see the real damage for yourself.

* You claim vehicles are issued certificate of destruction when it is certified dismantled, scrapped or whatever. And I say again, does that Pathfinder look like it has been dismantled ?

* When it comes to cars and auctions, these things vary, and there’s no rule of thumb to go by.
The best and foolproof way to verify ANY car is by physical inspection by a professional who knows what to look out for. Not vehicle titles and all what not..

No you missed the point.unscrupulous scrap yard sell whole car as parts . You can never register such cars I the US ever . .you buy it I whole to dismantle . This is how you get used parts in the US and UK . I perform services for hydrolic systems in one of these perks I'm right there as we speak . I will take photos of a certificate of distribution in a out 10 mins if they have one .A car with such title is worse than salvaged . It mean sit was bout from the junkyard not Auctions

A certificate of destruction is issued by a scrap yard) UK (junk yard )in the US . When the vehicle is certified dismantled or scraped . No this is worse than salvaged vehicles . They sell the car in whole as for parts but our brothers import them ,paint them and repackage them as non accident TOks . Now salvage is different . Salvage is the state of a car b4 scrap which is final . .
Now if a car fails to sell at auctions it goes to a scrap yard who issues a certificate of distribution . These cars are called End of Life vehicles EOV .

It's not so hard to get the best possible car very good cars are still available but will be quite difficult to see them at popular price this fact coupled with the competition and customer pockets push most car dealers into getting something of the above nature I am a minute car dealer for now but also have personal preference 1. Accidents at front end is a No for me except it's very clear it's just a bumper fall off 2.accidents on unreplaceable parts of the car such as d side frame of rear fenders is also a No for me 3.
