He writes in Arabic and very fluent in Arabic, English and French.

It's your girl Ms Travelin Diva and she has arrived! What an adventure it has been so far, but I made it to Abuja!

First two days had a bit of a rocky start (our flight was delayed and luggage did not arrive in Abuja until the next evening). I must admit, if you have to return to the airport for anything, Nigeria makes it a bit difficult to navigate back and forth easily. At any rate, once we received our luggage then our vacation officially began. I quickly learned the true meaning of the nigerian factor, lol! While still a bit jet lagged, I have managed to enjoy a few adventures within my first few days, and even got my hair braided in my hotel room shortly after I arrived (BEST EXPERIENCE EVER). Firstly, I apologise for the few typo errors committed in my previous post. I was actually doing a few things simultaneously while typing with less concentrations. All that had been corrected already.

Like you said, different strokes for different folks. If you're working over there but can't earn reasonably after tax and enough to take care of yourself and family comfortably, you need to think twice. I'm not saying people who chose to remain there aren't making it but to what extent? Those who came back without achieving their ends...do you know why? Can you share the experience of anyone you know so we can dissect the matter more.deeply to ascertain the root cause? There are opportunities here for those who can look beyond their nose. I know how many times I paraded the oil and gas and government institutions trying to sell my ideas to them before I had that breakthrough. Some could do a little push and get tired. I was left with virtually nothing cos i was always spending on prospecting. I drank gari for months but I never relented cos I knew my worth. How many can go that far? Now, they are the ones looking for us.

If you see an American investor doing well, somebody your mate, you should feel challenged, instead of choosing to feel comfortable working for him. Lifting people out of poverty has always been paramount in my thoughts. I can't be struggling over there, working for someone and think I can make this happen.

I once cited the example of one of my uncles who came home from Atlanta in the 90s. What he brought home made him billionaire today. When the atm revolution erupted in Nigeria the CBN authorized all the commercial banks to embrace his products. Google Xantrex Engineering for details. He's the only distributor of their products in Nigeria and some Africa countries today. The market over there is saturated already. There's nothing virtually new you'd want to introduce in America for instance, which someone else had not tried. But here back home, such ideas might be nonexistent then, they become opportunities.

Some of us who came back after our studies will remain grateful forever. I remember in 2004 when I arrived in Newyork, JFK. It was like an earthly paradise. I left JFK for Jamaica via Sutfin Builevard by train where I went to catch Grey Hounds to my school, upstate. The day I was coming back, those naijas there using people's sola-sola to work thought they had reached their fair haven. Today...looking back, all I can say is thank God. I've been to US several times since I came back. I remember a day i told one of them who chose to stay , how much I spent building my house...the best in the estate. He was like, where did you get that kind of money from? I work for my money and I own a legit business.

Go there, tap opportunities and come back home and utilise it. Nigeria is hot cake for investments. Indians and Chinese would come here with a luggage and a pair of shoes but return home millionaires in dollars. Common!
