Give credit to who? This doesn't have anything to do with the naira redesign rather, it even made dollar to become.more scarce. Was it the naira redesign that caused pounds to depreciate massively against the dollar last month too? What of euro which also suffered same setback? RMB and other popular currencies weren't left out, including our naira.

The moment the CBN announced the naira redesign what happened? People thronged the market to exchange their naira to dollar thinking the cbn would reject them and mopped up the little dollar available which made it become more scarce. The dollar jumped up to 900 naira in 2 weeks.

Now, things are stabilising world-wide. Pounds is regaining its strength, likewise Euro...abi na naira redesign cause this too? Haba! I would have even given kudos to the cbn, had they restricted the amount of naira to be collected back from customers through deposit money banks rather, they increased the allowable amount you could deposit which gave our politicians an edge to deposit all they had stolen. For me, the redesign is a means of cashing out by emefiele before he leaves office. That's all. Soludo and Sanusi wanted to do same but Nigerians rejected the moves. What we need isn't naira redesign cos it's not curbing any crime. What we need is fx stability and accessibility.

What happened to Naira after it capitulated from 740 to almost 900 is what us seasoned traders call the deadcat bounce. Its a natural phenomenon that happens when anything falls hard from a distant top. If you take a teddy and toss it down from a three story building, when the teddy hits the ground, it will have a gravitational pull upwards or what you'd call a bounce, hence the term a dead cat bounce, The teddy doesnt bounce up because its alive, Nope.

I can tell you for a matter that the naira is heading north of 1000 to the dollars latest January unless their is a direct government intervention on the matter, It could also be indirect, they could/should start competing silently with traders in black market to create panic and fear against the dollar by dumping dollars at a cheaper rate randomly using infiltration fake sellers, a lot of people will abandon the dollar for naira causing the naira to gain in the black market. Its actually easier for them to silently enter the black market to discourage brute trading going on because we all know for a fact that they do not have enough dollars to meet the economic demands of nigeria,

I have been predicting the movement of the naira since the beginning of the year, I predicted the capitulation once we go past 780, read my previous post on the matter to enlighten yourself. If you have naira you want to change, you dont have much time. Take advantage of the deadcat bounce.

I recognize you as a staunch obidient . One of our hopes is when he gets to Aso Rock, Obi being a man that listens to the people, He can/will set up if possible a Ministry of Forex Exchange. Who says it is not about naira redesign? Did you not notice that there is a sharp increase in prices of commodity goods? A brand new tyre being sold around 18k is not 22k witnin 2 weeks. Prices of agricultural produce are increasing daily, despite the bountiful harvest. My take is that people prefer to buy goods with the hoarded naira than converting it to dollar.

Not about Naira redesign, all currencies are regaining their strength globally as we speak. Just check it.

Check the major currencies of the world as they're currently regaining their strength . GBP and Euro also lost value against the USD weeks back but now, they've appreciated against USD, others aren't left out
