European Union (EU) Ambassasdors in Nigeria on Monday paid a courtesy call on the management of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) seeking to strengthen its partnership with Nigeria in the energy sector.

This is according to a statement signed by NNPC spokesperson, Garba Deen Muhammad.

Speaking on behalf of the group, the EU Ambassador in Nigeria, Samuela Isopi, said as a result of the current geopolitical situation in Europe, the continent was interested in strengthening its cooperation with Nigeria particularly in the area of possible increase in the supplies of liquiefied Natural Gas (LNG).

“Nigeria is the fourth gas supplier to Europe. At least 40% of the Nigerian LNG is currently exported to Europe. We are not only major clients for Nigeria. We are also major partners in the Oil and Gas sector because some of the companies that are working with you are from Europe. So we share the same interest and same objectives,” Ambassador Isopi added.

Responding, the GMD/CEO of NNPC, Mele Kyari, assured the European delegation that the company would continue to deepen its historical relationship with EU companies in Nigeria in order to add more value to its business, particularly towards increasing gas supply to the global market and enhancing domestic gas utilisation.

Other diplomats from the European delegation on the visit were: Ambassador of Portugal, Luis Barros; Ambassador of Spain, Juan Sell; Ambassador of Italy, Stefano De Leo and Deputy Head of Mission (France), Olivier Chatelais

How? My former neighbour was a customs officer, a deputy controller to be precise. He used to bring home cash in Ghana must go bags every day and he did that for years. He later relocated to lekki where he built a new house. He retired last year and relocated to his state to do commercial farming

For me, his activities and roles as VP within the stipulation of constitution had not been encroached upon or threatened in any way to warrant his resignation. When he was wrongly accused of corruption, he said he could give up his VP position but the matter was later resolved and he was exonerated.

What can a VP do when the president is there , except power was transmitted to him at an acting capacity ? When power was transmitted to him, we saw what he did . Nigerians at some point were even praying that buhari shouldn't come out anytime soon , while osinbajo should continue. I remember him also sacking Daura as a result of corruption, the man who hails from same town with buhari. Had buhari been around, that man would never have been sacked. He would still have remained the DSS Director till date. I'm sorry in case you hate this man, he's the man to beat. He's a unifier and wouid fare much more better than all the listed candidates. He's also more acceptable nationwide than them all.

By the way, who told you Buhari had been the one ruling Nigeria since 2015? The cabals are those holding sway at the helms not buhari. Same people had wanted to eliminate osinbajo by all means in the past but all failed. Leave osinbajo out of Buhari's mess though he'd also be fingered as VP in this administration. His role as the constitution stipulates is very limited. The president remains the GCFR.

Dear nairalanders, please what's the electricity supply situation in your area? Prior to the first announcement of the collapse of the power grid, we used to enjoy power supply for at least, 20 hours daily in Lagos where i live and it's been like that for over 10 years now. At times, light would be stable for nearly a week before they'd interrupt it. We hardly put on our generator and this is the truth

Since the national grid first collapsed weeks ago, we've been running on diesel almost every day and we often leave our gen on overnight. I wonder how people living in other areas where the supply of electricity used to be epileptic would be feeling right now...corporate and manufacturing organisations to say the least.

The unusual generator sound in my neighbourhood always makes me feel I should relocate to a cool place for some days. This isn't funny anymore as I'm not used to this.

There won't be WW3 anywhere. The worst that would happen is Russia not supplying gas and other products to them and thankfully, there are countries that can do even much more better. Russia alone can't face the world in any war successfully, not even by deployment of their nuclear weapon which other countries also have in abundance. Russia isn't even the largest producer of gas. The country is 8th on the list of oil and gas endowment while Nigeria is 10th. I think the west and nato gave them so much privilege and opportunity by buying their products which had made them become so powerful by using the proceeds to amass weapons instead of using same to develop their country.

Definitely the number of soldiers ,police and other security people killed are under reported.
Look at Russia and Ukraine , each side is not ready to give true number of soldiers killed in war .
Then how can u expect a country like Nigeria which is not fighting a war or terrorists ,but fighting ordinary businessmen aka bandits to give true picture.

No country loses such number in a war with other nations would ever feel comfortable with it yet its happening within Nigeria but our darling daddy is so comfortable with it. His body language has shown. I learnt the UK denied him clearance into the UK and asked him to deal with the local issues bedevelling his people and in effect, the presidency tagged the eatlier information announced about Buhari's 20 days annual leave in the UK to be false. See confusion grin

. Like you said, the number is even under-reported. They should be more than 1000. When a number of casualties is reported in Nigeria by this government, you should just multiply it by 2 because they'd never report the right figure . The recent conflicting number of terrorists' victims during the Abuja-kaduna train attack is a further proof.
By the way, I still wonder why our youths still join the Nigeria army under this administration. Accepting military employment is worse than accepting a death sentence under this administration.

As reported today....bandits killed 700 soldiers in 18 months only in Nigeria. Not even Yemen had it this bad. Which way Nigeria? Islamist terrorists holding sway daily in the north. My friend said in the past week that he has renounced his religious faith. The religion of peace has now turned violent and clerics/imams are keeping quiet. Na wah oo.
