This in my opinion was one of the most lawless action ever taken by INEC and co in the country, claiming necessity.

The most legal thing that ought to have been done in that scenario was to complete the postponed elections with the dead candidate since elections started before his death and then subsequently swear in the vice.
Don't mind the OP, he was codedly campaigning for amaechi

The mumu people in south especially one Nigeria people will swarming airports in the south to flee their beloved Nigeria, like their brothers in Afghanistan and vietnam did.
The problem has grown beyond buhari .
Extreme poverty , indiscriminate breeding like pigs and lack of education in northern Nigeria will fuel all kind of nonsense in this country.

I will believe in God and his miracles, if this country remain as one ,beyond 10 years from now.
What is 10 years? Except God permits, Nigeria after 2023 is bleak.

I hope our southern leaders would firm up the security architecture now, instead of playing partisan politics and making noise. We're in, for a long thing

TheOgaBoss:
Yes there are alternative oil producers but at what price? Taking Russian oil at ofthe equation will lead to a drastic hike in price of oil as we have seen in recent times, a lot of the people in western countries are already feeling the heat of increased oil prices and it's impact on their economy, this is the reason many eu countries backtracked on sanctioning Russian oil.
It's normal and this would only last a few days after which things would become normal. We too suffered scarcity last month and now, there's fuel everywhere sold at the normal price. It all depends on how swift the affected countries are able to adjust by looking elsewhere for energy. During scarcity, some stations sold fuel as high as 250 naira here in lagos. Now it's history. Some people just overrate Russia for no reason. I'm even disappointed the manner at which they're suffering more casualties in the hands of Ukrainian forces. I was seeing them as big and mighty before the invasion with the cache of munitions and tanks on display as seen on aljazeera and BBC. Most of those tanks and jets have now been destroyed by Ukrainian army.

Germany,France,Italy, and co have their factories and companies dependent on this Russian gas!
These economies are battling against Asian products which are cheaper!
No imagine no gas for the factories, companies and what have you.
They will have to import from wherever at far higher costs plus delivery stalls!
There will be drastic cuts in employment first!
High cost of gas to run the homes
High cost of finished goods
All of these leads to inflation
Inflation in double digits affects there currency
Euros gets weaker
And blah blah blah

Growth all seuth in reverse.... depression
Very wrong notion. USA through their business collaboration with their partners like Saudi Arabia and Canada who are the top largest oil producers in the world can easily make it happen. They'd only face the hardship for a few days. Remember when fuel became scarce recently in Nigeria? With the arrival of a few vessels recently, the tide stopped and now, there's fuel everywhere and sold at the normal rate per liter. We only siffered that scarcity for a few weeks. Russia will cry on this. EU can increase their demands for our gas, othwr countries too. Hope you're aware NLNG in Bonny Island exports the majority of their gas to Europe, India, etc? I wonder why Nigeria is still poor. We should be as powerful as Russia today but corruption is too much. Are you aware Nigeria is just 2 points velow Russia in oil endowment? We're number 10 while Russia is number 8. If not for racism and all manners of sentiments, I see no reason why EU wouldn't come buy our bonny lite which is even the best in the world but headed for Russia for energy dependency instead. Maybe what's happening now would male them reconsider their agelong decisions
Foreign AffairsRe: Ukraine: What Will Happen If EU & NATO Countries Refuse To Pay For Russia's Gas? by Eriokanmi: 10:38am On Mar 30, 2022

Russia will cut them off. The US is already making plans to step in and getting other countries to do same. The problem is they have the amount but not the delivery infrastructure which will take a longgggg time to set up. Meanwhile ..... Russia will divert supplies to the ever thirsty China and Nigeria will be instructed to increase supply to Europe....or else?
Stop hyping Russia. They're just number 8 on the list while Nigeria is number 10 meaning if we can increase our capacity as opec demands we can meet the European demand. Don't forget America owns a great share in the oil and gas investment in Saudi Arabia, through the American Oil Corporation which changed to Chevron. Check the position of Saudi Arabia and Canada on the list and you'd know Russia is inconsequential in this matter. Russia can drink their oil for all we care. This should be a moment of boom for Nigeria. I hope they'd use the proceeds judiciously.

Russian economy will crash laslas. You can't be making money from the west through the sale of your gas and be using the proceeds to build weaponry and be intimidating same people with it.
Foreign AffairsRe: Ukraine: What Will Happen If EU & NATO Countries Refuse To Pay For Russia's Gas? by Eriokanmi: 10:31am On Mar 30, 2022
Why are you overrating Russia so much, OP? They're just 2 points up the ladder above Nigeria on oil exploration( russua is number 8 while Nigeria is number 10) . EU can call bluff of Russia and their oil. Saudi Arabia( where America has her largest oil investment via american oil corporation which later became chevron) and Canada are there. Countries like Nigeria who's number 10 on the list can also supplement supply to the west, other countries too. Don't also forget that America also has oil. Russia will be at the receiving end. To end this, India also buys oil from Nigeria in fact, they're one of our largest buyers.

Failure is an understatement. If you love yourself, don't go to the North for now and if the post you there for work, don't go. Your life matters. Those stinking fulani terrorists don't value life. It still amazes me, after hearing of a similar attack barely 24 hours earlier, some people still went ahead and boarded a train plying same route and got caught by same terrorists. O ga oo!

Maybe corporate entities and transport and aviation companies should now introduce insurance ransome in the employment package and to fares for passengers for their safety . Abi wetin we go com do now? As our government has failed us.

Don't just react. You guys need to act now. Things can't continue this way. The crop of politicians we have today are bereft of ideas . We are waiting for you guys to form your political party. We will vote you massively.
See as politicians boycotted Tinubu's colloquium today, including Buhari. Tinubu now said the colloquium wouldn't hold as planned, addressing his supporters at the Eko Hotel, the event's venue that the reason for cancelling the colloquium was due to those who died in the train attack along kaduna Abuja route today, as if he cared undecided instead of saying the truth that people he was expecting refused to show up. That's how they've been deceiving us. No nation built on deceit ever gets it right . We need to vote all these liars out of power at all cost. We have the number.

I wonder why the federal government hasn't declared a state of emergency in kaduna since the invasion of NDA. Last week bandits attacked a plane that was on the runway about to take off to lagos, killing one of the passengers on board and kidnapped unknown number of people but the apc swept it under the carpet. If they could invade the NDA, wetin be airport, as porous as it is, that they'd not invade it?

As if that wasn't enough, just yesterday, the terrorists those weak military claimed they killed over the kaduna airport attack went and derailed a moving train along kaduna Abuja route, kidnapping scores and killing an unidentified number of passengers. The apc first said nobody was killed until some of the victims who were VIPs on board who were also members of their party narrated the story to the press.

As if that wasn't enough, today-today, the same terrorists attacked another train barely 24 hours after the last attack on same axis and killed over 60 passengers after abducting some passengers. Na like dis we go dey dey naija?

They were driving along the bank and a strange wind diverted the vehicle into the river. It was those who witnessed the incident that alerted the people around. By the time they pulled the car out. Both of them were gone.

Mass Defection From APC Begins In Kwara, Osun, Others After Controversial National Convention

Meanwhile, it had been reported that there were about 208 ongoing court cases in different parts of the country by aggrieved APC members.

The All Progressives Congress has started witnessing massive defection of its members to the opposition party after it just concluded its national convention. This comes on the trail of a heated crisis in the party, despite a charge by President Muhammadu Buhari, for unity.

Punch reports that the reconciliation committee headed by Senator Abdullahi Adamu, who is now the chairman of the party, had yet to submit its full report as only an interim report had been handed over to the APC.

Meanwhile, it had been reported that there were about 208 ongoing court cases in different parts of the country by aggrieved APC members. However, with many of the cases being concluded, some losers have now begun dumping the party, while others are in talks with the opposition party, the Peoples Democratic Party.

According to the report, members of the APC faction in Kwara State led by the Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, had removed the party’s flag from their secretariat and members had deserted the building.

A member of the state House of Assembly representing the Ojomu/Balogun Constituency in the Offa Local Government Area, Saheed Popoola, who is a leading member of the Lai Mohammed faction, announced his defection to the Social Democratic Party on the floor of the Assembly last week.

In a chat with the newspaper on Monday, the faction said it had exited the APC.

The Publicity Secretary of the APC faction elected at the parallel congress organised by the group, Ibrahim Sharafadeen, disclosed this in an interview with Punch.

“We have exited the APC officially, but we have not declared for any political party. Our leaders have not made any public declaration on which political party we are moving to. We will make it public very soon,” Sharafadeen stated.

Asked if the faction would move to the SDP, Sharafadeen said no, adding, “That was the sole decision of Popoola, who informed the Kwara State House of Assembly that he had defected from the APC.”

In Sokoto State where there is no APC chairman currently, it was learnt that the PDP had begun making moves to bring aggrieved members into its fold.

An APC chieftain in the state said, “Sokoto State is a peculiar matter. The party has no recognised leadership at the moment, because of the court case challenging the congresses. In fact, only statutory delegates from Sokoto, like former governors and others, were allowed to vote (during the national convention). Others, who emerged from the congresses, were barred.

“We are aware that the PDP is already trying to woo some of the APC members into its fold. And if this disagreement isn’t well managed, the APC may lose in Sokoto again.”

In Zamfara State, the faction led by Governor Bello Matawalle is the recognised one, but the factions led by Senator Kabiru Marafa and ex-governor Abul’Aziz Yari have refused to withdraw their cases from court.

The Mafara faction said it would not withdraw its pending cases before the courts despite the national convention conducted last Saturday.

The spokesman for the faction, Bello Bakyasuwa, said the pending cases in various courts would be pursued to a logical conclusion.

He said, “We are going ahead with the court cases. We have pending cases at various courts and we will not withdraw the cases, because we are still not convinced that we have been treated fairly.

“We are challenging the legality of Governor Matawalle’s factional chairman, Tukur Danfulani, and the remaining executive committee members because they were not elected in a legal way.

“We are also challenging the reason why the national headquarters of our great party refused to recognise our factional party executives, who were duly elected during the parallel congress held in the state.”

Bakyasuwa also stressed that the faction would challenge last Saturday’s national convention as due process was not followed during the event.

“We are going to court to challenge the election of Senator Abdullahi Adamu and other national executive members of the party, because of a series of illegalities. We were really not happy with the conduct of the congress and we will not let it go like that,” he stated.

On whether the Marafa’s APC faction would remain in APC or not, Bakyasuwa said it was in consultation with lawyers.

“We are in consultation with our lawyers on whether to remain in the party or not. So, I cannot precisely tell you what will happen until after the consultation,” he explained.

In Osun State, Abiodun Agboola, Publicity Secretary of the APC faction backed by the Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola, said members of the group would wait for the court to decide a matter it instituted challenging Governor Gboyega Oyetola’s eligibility, which is before an Abuja court.

He, however, said the group had no plans to defect from the APC adding that it would pursue the matter of Oyetola’s eligibility to stand as the governorship candidate of the APC to a logical conclusion.

He stated, “We are not moving to any party and we are not talking to any party whatsoever. We remain members of the APC. The national convention has come and gone. Officers have emerged and they have been sworn in.

“That does not mean that we are going to leave the party. But we have a case in court. We are challenging his (Oyetola’s) eligibility. The case came up before a Federal High Court in Abuja last Friday. We are saying that he is not even qualified to stand as the flag bearer of the party in the election coming up in July. We will wait for the court to decide that case before the next line of action.”

Rip to everyone that had died since 2015 due to insecurities in Nigeria. We don't deserve to be at the world cup.
Am telling you. I've stopped watching super eagles' match long time ago cos its full of politics and corruption.
You dont expect any thing meaningful from such a team , except HBP. Over 60 passengers were killed in the train attack on the kaduna Abuja highway today alone, barely 24 hours after same terrorists attacked a passenger train along same axis and blew it off with explosives after they ended kidnapping a vast majority of passengers on board. We don't need any world Cup appearance for now. They'd just label us a team from a terrorist nation ni. They'd think our players too have the tendency and be running away from them grin.

I'm still in shock how Nigeria suddenly became a volatile nation. This isn't the Nigeria we dreamt about.

The Nigerian team, with the exception of a few players was just too lethargic and ordinary. They didn't play with their brain and heart. When Ghana scored, one could see the fire and seriousness in them but after that, they went to sleep as if nothing was at stake. To make matters worse, the coaching crew lacks tactical knowledge to change the game.

That aside, I think this away goal rule is useless and unjust. Are they encouraging home teams to win at all costs? I come to your house you couldn't score against me and I couldn't score against you. Then you come to my house and you score 1 and I also score 1 but you qualify because you scored in my house. What's the sense is that? Maybe someone can educate me. Kudos to UEFA for abolishing it. FIFA should do away with it ASAP. It's unfair and encourages win-at-all-costs-at- home syndrome.

Guy, why you dey para like dis nah? For me oo, I have vowed never to watch our national team again until a day politics, indiscipline and corruption are erased from the team.
