some Americans can be blunt a times , especially when they see an African man wanting to take their ideas or technology outside of USA. Their mentality is changing now especially since Obama became US president. Many of them didn't believe we too were innovative. My brother is a medical technologist. He wrote to a major medical device manufacturer in US for partnership in Nigeria. They didn't reply him at first. He called them, they promised responding but never did. He had to go there in person. He met their sales director who confirmed they actually received his mails but for some reason, they didn't feel it was necessary because they weren't ready to have a distributor in Nigeria as of that time. I don't know why they're like that. Reluctantly, they considered him but with price list higher than what they gave to their people . Some Japanese companies behave this way too

He was to sell an AED to a leading oil company here when he got to know of this. After giving them his own quote the company being an American firm reached the USA manufacturer directly, just to confirm my brother was their agent in Nigeria as he claimed, without him knowing. They also forwarded the price he gave them in USD. They reached my brother and gave him like 25% discount more, across board. At times, it's difficult to penetrate them but when you eventually do, na Partnership for life because they'd pamper you with lots of benefits including training.

I'm telling you sincerely. They did. He couldn't his have been lying too cos he's told us the story several times especially whenever he wanted to motivate us. I worked briefly with him before I went for my nysc cos NYSC had a little delay in mobilising us then. In order not to stay home doing nothing, I had to join him. As a successful man, who had nothing to lose or gain by telling is the story, I believed him 100%

I am not playing...I had absolute anosmia for 3 whole freaking days...I couldn't perceive any single smell....those 3 days are the most scary 3 days of my life...but like I said, it is not a death sentence except u have a serious underlying ailment

It's a terrible experience. I had it with family but we all came out of it. My kids couldn't smell anything for days, toward the the recovery stage. It was as if I was at my passing moment. I couldn't breathe well. I couldn't even sleep, as if my left lung had ceased completely. My heart was vibrating. Kids and wifey's case was mild. I was badly hit. I was just praising God, while reading this news piece. May God console the family.

Thanks Smith1985 once again for all the insults . I'm following and interested in the case more than you think, including where the then PDP said his NYSC and Degree Certificates were fake. We all saw what happened next on UI and NYSC's responses, up to the correction of his name by the latter who admitted the error was theirs. It was no longer the case of defective academic qualifications as claimed by the APC anymore but certificate forgery...hahaha. where the assembly members in person of Yekini of Somorika and Agbaje of Ososo today after betraying obaseki before election and ran to the apc camp after receiving millions of naira each from jagaband? It all didn't change anything.

The last time I checked, they've both returned to the obaseki's camp and he received them warmly. Pls just keep all the insults until the final court verdict because am sure the case would end up at the supreme court in the APC's usual habit. It's gonna be a wasted effort in the end, Mark this.

I know one of his coursemates who graduated with him. He confirmed that 3 credit passes in O'L in combination with other certificates was acceptable in some courses by UI and other universities back then. I combined IJMB with O'L result to enter uni Ilorin as was the requirement in those days. I can tell you that, APC who didn't see anything with oshiomohle's trade test certificate which he tendered as the ACN governorship candidate is only traveling on a journey to no destination in this case. UI never denied admitting obaseki. They even posted his results when he graduated. In late 2000s, one of my relations was admitted into FUT Minna with 4 credit passes and a Pass to study Photonics. This requirement was clearly stated in their UME Brochure that time..I don't know what it's called now because at a time, they changed it to UTME. Things are changing evertday. Today, such can't be possible anymore as university requirements in any course of studies especially now that admission has become very competitive with only a few universities serving millions of intakes every year. Now there's a post UME exam which wasn't there before. Tomorrow, admission requirements could be based on O'level grades like...you must have 5As in O'level results before studying a particular course...I heard some universities now do so to reduce the number of intakes in medicine and other courses like ...you must possess A's in the core science subjects even after the post UME success. People were still being encouraged in the 70s to go to the university...even secondary schools in Nigeria. Awolowo had to declare education free to encourage people to go to school...APC would sleep and snor in court

Nigeria is a land of opportunities to only those who have the inner eyes to see one. Nothing can ever make me take such a decision of relocating. If you want to go, bye-bye but you'd spot the difference in later years if you choose to remain there . Why not apply same spirit on developing yourself here? Go there for studies and come back with opportunities. I'd like to cite a few examples below on some of us who came back, against all odds.

1- I've been around the globe, even acquired certificates, up to 4 different ones and some training skills in amazing facilities. I came back with an opportunity which is seriously proferring solutions to our problems in Nigeria today. No manager in the leading oil and gas company in Nigeria can match my worth...no be bragging matter. I don hobnob with world leaders, including Barack Obama. I'd have regretted it, had I stayed back.

2-Anyone who goes to one of the old generation banks would see an inverter with battery banks on one side of their banking hall, powering their atms... its as a result of an innovation brought home by my uncle. He left union bank for Atlanta in the 90s, got employed at Walmart as stores officer. One day, as he was going home branched at a newspaper vendor( a mexican) booth to read papers as usual and there he spotted an Inverter company located in Arlington. I'm mentioning it as it is so people could check it out. Its called Trace Engineering, later changed their name to Xantrex. He applied to them to be their rep in Nigeria to solve the epileptic power supply in critical sectors but they refused his application for 3 reasons. One, that the product was new to Africa and 2ndly, that being black, it would be impossible to convince his people on adopting the technology. 3rdly, that they weren't ready to expand beyond the shores of America as at that time. He felt disappointed. 2 months later, they called and told him they had reconsidered his application and invited him for 2 weeks training after which he was asked to come to Nigeria with demos to show to his prospects.

Long story cut short, his friends of Nigerian decent blasted him, they said his village people had come calling. He summoned courage and left America with almost nothing. On getting home, he started from his 1-room apartment he left behind. He went to companies, the CBN and other places in government too. CBN told him they had constant power supply with 3 standby automatic switch generators so, they'd not need his ideas. He told them but its free, they now allowed him to install one demo unit at their IT dept. 6 months later they had issues with their generators as there was a major power outage from national grid so they over fired the generators. They all packed up within same time. They had to order parts from abroad but then they needed to keep their IT dept running to prevent loss of files. The moment the 3rd gen stopped , all the directors were panicking, rushed to the IT room only to find out that the staff were working as normal with lights on. They called my uncle over, first thanked him for saving them a major disaster and gave him a contract to install the inverter on all the CBN branches nationwide. Shortly after that, the atm revolution came and CBN recommended this man to all banks starting from the old generation banks...this man won a global distributor of the year 4 times and was invited with family to the USA for an award each time. His colleagues back then can't even near him in anything. Rather he gives them money on each visit. If you want to go...go for schooling or you spend a little time there and while you're there, study the environment, study our challenges back home and you'd not regret leaving for home ultimately.

A friend is talking with sanwoolu on ocean transport from ikorodu to lagos Island now and discussion is at an advanced stage . He's worked with a similar company abroad for some years and now, he wants to tap into the opportunity and the company is ready to fund this project 100%. When you see his private jet or copter hovering ahead of you tomorrow, or you see him on forbes list, don't say money why...while struggling in the biting cold over there to make ends meat with all the responsibilities staring you in the face.

When I say he's not a Christian, I mean he's not a practising Christian. He doesn't practice Christ's teachings. Joseph Biden is a practising Catholic. On the Sunday after the elections, he went to church for thanksgiving on election victory with his family. How can you also call someone who couldn't recite just a verse of a bible Christian when asked to do so? Which church does he attend, tell me. Even the historic church closest to the Whitehouse he no dey go, except the day that place came under a minor attack and he walked from the white house with his team to visit the place. The priest in charge even blasted him for trying to use the place to shine because he's not kown there.

Biden has exhibited an exemplary character of a good Christian in the choice of his cabinet members in recent times. He welcomes everyone regardless of race, religion or ethnicity. Our people even made his team list, amazing! I'm very sure he would do much more including building strong ties with Africa instead of calling us names. I'd call Biden a father of Africa from his efforts towards freedom during the South African travails in apartheid days. History no dey lie

You maybe differ on my claim on Biden's religious stance because he supports LGBTQ. Trumps also recognises them during his first campaigns and the second one held recently. Its an issue the entire america and government would have to grapple with in a very long time because lgbtq is part and parcel of their system. The practice is as old as man amongst them and has since been passed into law, crazy. It would take the grace of God to abolish it and that shows how crazy America and their Constitution is. Repealing it would be nearly impossible by any man, except God Himself wades in.
