1) I think its absurd to think that races are permanently associated with certain regions 2)I also think its absurd to think that races are a constant, and have always been constantly defined First of all, what is a race? I would imagine that it is made up of people that 'generally' share common features. These features are establisled amongst the group only because of intermarriage. I woulld expect that if a a set of mixed-race black/chinese intermarry amongst themselves to a certain generation and population size, a race would have been said to have been established. So, assuming adam and eve were the first people (me I believe o), they would not neccesarily have had the features or colurs of any of the present day men. In fact, it is not impossible that they were green (that is if this is genetically possible )In conclusion, none of the races present might actually be a true representation of the original race. SORRY GUYS, THIS WAS MOVED TO THE WRONG THREAD, AND THEREFORE WRONG CONTEXT. IT WAS MEANT FOR THOSE TRAVELLING TO THE UK FOR THEIR MASTERS OR PHD, AND WAS TO SHOW THEM HOW TO COPE AND EXCEL IN THE EDUCATIONAL SECTOR THERE. SO I WONT BE ABLE TO CONTINUE. KPELE |
2) Group work In class, you most likely will be exposed to groupwork were 3 to 5 of you are expected to work together to deliver a report. Some members of the group might be quite pushy, some extremely docile, and some 'just there'. The grades u make in ur group work wld impact on your overall grade, so if it is possible for you to chose ur team mates, then chose carefully |
where.............ever............ u ... may go Kai, i don dey crase o ![]() |
1) Time keeping Try to adjust quickly to good time keeping. you should probably spend a week getting used to this. Do not look outside in the morning to determine what the time is, as it might be very dark, yet it is already daytime. There are no okadas to zoom u through traffic jams , so you must plan your time wel. Use alarm clocks if need be. also learn to measure your jorney times by using the 'transport for london' 'journey planner' tool. Please click on this link to have a feel of the tool http://journeyplanner.tfl.gov.uk/user/XSLT_TRIP_REQUEST2?language=en |
It's september, and universities in the UK will be resuming soon. I'll give first-timers to UK some tips on how to succeed in UK universities. This would ensure that you make a merit or distinction in your course of study |
@cuddlemii Where's my price? and besides, are u taken? ![]() |
To Ileke-idi (that is if u be woman o) 've never seen you, never met you anyways, perfection seems all you do So I'll try to create you into a lovely, yummy dream o mine give you a plum backside, silky skin, elegant limbs and stuff thats fine Admiration and amazement stares me daringly in the eyes when you glide through the glorious past, present and future of our lives I catch my breadth as I watch your elegant hips sway to the sounds of our culture a gentle, little er.ection of mine set off by your mixture of beauty and brainy stature Precious n' fanthomless are those things you've got your coral crown sitting on Also precious n' effortless are those things you've got your coral beads hanging on Ahhhh........, you swirl towards me, ....gently, ahhhhhh....., yes ...............seductively 'still can't keep my eyes off those hips, jeez!! they're fine its alluring pull tells me a lot about babies: yours and mine you do not tarry for long for now I taste your tongue mmmmhhh...the smell of your skin, the fullness of your lips vine, forbiden in the heart of the caliphate but I must sip softness made its home not too far from your heart desire places my hands affectionately on your warmth my eyelids shut, that I might drink you complete nope, changed my mind i must see every bit I always wished I was there at the creation, the begining of all things at this moment, we indeed are, ..carousing na.ked, the creation of loving Eyes opened. Noooooooooooooo.... I should'nt have for now I see that my laptop is all I have me date, touchy , touchy ? |
@2buff Yep. I also had the subtle 'no' thing with someone i dated for more than 4 years and it hurt. (shame on me for keeping her that long). I let her go, gradually but decisively at the end. Probably some meditation around the portion of the scripture about Joseph and Mary would help....... That is where Joseph finding out that Mary was with child sought to put her away quietly. Also, generally I usually don't ask God quetions b4 I start anything. I feel that if its not his will, he'll pull me back at some point. I noticed that this works better with me Best wishes |
truthislight: As you can see from matthew 7;7, Jesus said we should ask questions. My line of tought exactly. Wow, great to know that at least there are some out there in the 9ja space that think this way. Metaphorically speaking, christian and muslim folks I have encountered on this, seem scared to look God in the face lest they die or are punished in this life or after death. Also, from my experience, the few people that are usually interested in such line of questions are aethists. But like you rightly said, its only when we ask that we grow. |
^aeroplanes for religious ritual? I'm convulsing with laughter right now lol ahahahahahahahahahahaha |
^^^^^^^ The african Gods and their african chiefs with a taste for foreign liquer The Oyinbo Gods and their african popes evolving towards a a taste for foreign airplanes ![]() |
musKeeto: you start asking questions, you seek the truth..Guru Mosquito! Guru Mosquito!! Guru Mosquito!!! How many times did I call u? You just took up space throwing the question back to where I started from ![]() And besides, dem train us for church to be careful of names ....Mosquito dey suck blood wel wel o ![]() |
It has always baffled me that many folks (especially the religious ones)that I've met in my walk through life are afraid to ask God questions. They'd rather just receive answers from what ever their imams or pastors tell them about God. Why is this? Are we scared of God or something? ![]() How, for a jittery second, can we swallow hook line and sinker whatever we are told by those at the top of religious (or if you like spiritual)organisations? I mean, if they were all perfectly right, there wouldn't be so many denominations all pushing different interpretations of the same thing and not agreeing with themselves. So, if these pastors/imams don't also ask God questions, how do they get answers that they share with us? Or probably, they don't ask in the first place, maybe thats why every one's got their own opinion Why do we quickly say "touch not my annointed" when issues rise up, when we are literally not touching the person? Who is the 'anointed', is it only the pastors (in the case of the christians)and not the followers? If the followers are also the 'anointed', then why do we not hesitate to 'touch' them mercilessly, while not 'touching' the top guns? Where did the 'trinity' concept come from? I've read my bible over and over again -front to back (not many of us have done this). It makes no mention of a 'trinity'. The closest was Christ's great baptismal commision. Is this not a 'fleshy' concept that dwells mainly on heirachal structures? So many questions ? ? ? ? ?, but I won't be asking God, i'll be asking u ...please educate me |
lol umhhh, African Gods and tribal chiefs have also developed a taste for foreign liquer interesting ![]() |
I agree with Tolaaaaanni and Ileke_idi that blacks in different geographical locations should be studied especially by blacks in schools. I think it would help us better strenghten our identity and sense of collective defense against ravishing cultures that seek to dominate and degrade us. I mean, from my experience and what Ive read about many cultures, there is this strong tendency by people to hate and derograte groups of people with darker skins (The only exception is what the blacks do to albinos -at least in West Africa). Don't mean to offend anyone, but I think it should be like what our society teaches girls as they get into puberty -to be wary of guys who come in all forms and shapes with intentions to screw and dump them while professing love. Me thinks that if our African kids are made to understand through the study of relevant history that they can easilly be hated. They would be more prepared for the global world. Look at the Jewish state Israel, and how they have been able to turn such persections against them around, to a thing of advantage where even American presidents and nominees scramble overthemselves to show the world that they are ready to come to their defence |
@Pagan 9ja Thanks for throwing more light on this |
in general the North Indians are light skinned due to the influx of different Aryan, Indo_Scythian and Central Asian tribes. the ones mixed with europeans are called Anglo-Indians and are mainly christians and reside in parts of West ad North India. they are an insignificant minority However there are many light-skinned tribes annd castes in the South as well. However majority of the ooriginal Indigenous (original/pre-invasin) tribes of India reside in Central India where they had powerful Kingdoms and in South India. there are also many mixed-race Indians who dont have any tribe . they are majority, i s'pose (around 50%). however my percentage might be slightly wrong.
Please, can you throw more light on the bolded? Somehow, I am not able to wrap my head around it |
anonymous6: Interesting, I am sorry a place like India that takes skin color to the extreme, that will be the worst place to live, it is sadExactly my toughts the first time that I heard this. I understand that the Indian culture somehow institutionalizes racism through the caste system. The lighter caste being the princes, and the darker ones forever doomed to perpetual servitude This would mean that the black tribes there, are forever doomed to poverty as long as they remain in India |
Suchie: Been married for almost two yrs nw with 11months old baby...my hubby stays in another country n I stay in another country..missed him so much cos I hav nt seen him or him seeing our baby. Its killin me..hav anyone been into dis b4.I know a couple going through this circumstance, just like you. Same years in marriage and age of the child is almost same. However, they are able to handle it because they have a goal they are working at acheiving, and they've given themselves timelines |
I was astonished to find out that there is a black African tribe in India. They are called the Seddis Check this out https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pJFiut0s-ys Also in wikipidia Source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Siddi The first Siddis are thought to have arrived in the Indian subcontinent in 628 AD at the Bharuch port. Several others followed with the first Arab Islamic invasions of the subcontinent in 712 AD.[15] The latter group are believed to have been soldiers with Muhammad bin Qasim's Arab army, and were called Zanjis. Most Siddis, however, are believed to be the descendants of slaves, sailors, servants and merchants from East Africa who arrived and became resident in the subcontinent during the 1200-1900 AD period.[16] A large influx of Siddis to the region occurred in the 17th century when Portuguese slave traders sold a number of them to local princes.[2] Flag of the Siddis from Murud-Janjira an important vassal of the Mughal Empire. In Western India (the modern Indian states of Gujarat and Maharashtra), the Siddi gained a reputation for physical strength and loyalty, and were sought out as mercenaries by local rulers, and as domestic servants and farm labor.[2] Some Siddis escaped slavery to establish communities in forested areas, and some even established small Siddi principalities on Janjira Island and at Jaffrabad as early as the twelfth century. A former alternative name of Janjira was Habshan (i.e., land of the Habshis). In the Delhi Sultanate period prior to the rise of the Mughals in India, Jamal-ud-Din Yaqut was a prominent Siddi slave-turned-nobleman who was a close confidant of Razia Sultana (1205–1240 CE). Although this is disputed, he may also have been her lover.[17] As a power centre, Siddis were sometimes allied with the Mughal Empire in its power-struggle with the Maratha Confederacy.[2] However, Malik Ambar, a prominent Siddi figure in Indian history at large, is sometimes regarded as the "military guru of the Marathas", and was deeply allied with them.[18] He established the town of Khirki which later became the modern city of Aurangabad, and helped establish the Marathas as a major force in the Deccan. Later, the Marathas adapted Siddi guerrilla warfare tactics to grow their power and ultimately demolish the Mughal empire.[18] Some accounts describe the Mughal emperor Jahangir as obsessed by Ambar due to the Mughal empire's consistent failures in crushing him and his Maratha cavalry, describing him derogatorily as "the black faced" and "the ill-starred" in the royal chronicles and even having a painting commissioned that showed Jahangir killing Ambar, a fantasy which was never realised in reality.[19] Some Indian Siddis are descended from Tanzanians and Mozambicans brought by the Portuguese. While most enslaved African people became Muslim and a small minority became Christian, very few became Hindu since they could not find themselves a position in the traditional Hindu caste hierarchy.[20] |
