Programming / Re: Lack of funds can really be demotivating when self learning to code by Esiman(m): 9:32pm On Nov 27, 2022
Thank you and God bless.
Hannania:
I'll highlight sensible key points.

1. Many won't admit it, but Nigeria's complex system needs energetic and strong men. I'm not mocking Tinubu's Age because I'll also get old, but a wise man knows when to leave the stage. His quest for power with that "Emi lo kan" slogan shows he doesn't have Nigeria at heart. It's more of a birthright. We normalize these things from our politicians but that's a huge red flag.

2. I'll credit him for installing Fashola, Ambode, and Sanwo Olu as governors who enhanced Lagos and Osinbanjo who PMP uses anytime Nigeria needs an intellectual representative. History has shown he's a "Kingmaker" and such a position fits him. But the same history has shown a kingmaker never makes a good king. Many factors do not help here. Age is one, agility is second and the third leads to my third and most important point.

3. His choice of VP shows the kind of president we will have. One who does not care about what the people think or what a section of the populace thinks, as long as he gets his way. Nigeria During the time of Abiola's emergence with a Muslim Muslim ticket is not the same as Nigeria today. I was born and brought up as a Christain in Northern Nigeria and I will categorically tell you that if Osinbajo had won the primary and chosen another Christian, Nigeria would have fired up by now. The clerics would be the first to instill fanatic evil in their followers.

Now the BAT movement claims it's all about competence, but would never support the other way around. A man who will go all the way to do that can do anything without thinking about the people. Besides its a mockery to speak of competence and mention Shetima

As a renowned kingmaker, his availability of choice for kings is so abundant. But he chose to make it a birthright of "Turns".

4. Finally, I've noticed the people that sell the APC mandate especially hypocrites like Kayemo are those who directly benefit from the APC either on employment or political will. Even Buhari was not happy about the choice of Tinubu. You might think am sounding religiously biased, but that one choice and the first point I mentioned above are very critical in the times we are in Nigeria.

Unfortunately, he's likely to win because religious bigots, fantastic and myopic thinkers are the majority votes in Nigeria. Pause for a second and ask yourself, if Every Nigerian was sane, will we choose Tinubu? The answer is NO! Atiku is not better, and Obi is a novice and that's the unfortunate position we find ourselves in. I would have chosen Null if it was available, but I have to go with the "lesser evil" and hope he performs.

Nigeria can not be great if we continue like this.

Programming / Re: Chronicles Of A Data practitioner In The UK by Esiman(m): 5:32pm On Nov 12, 2022
Congratulations boss.
Ejiod:
To be sincere, this new opportunity was a great one for me.
The journey started Q2 of this year. All I can say is His Grace propelled me beyond my thinking.
Though it hasn't been that easy especially when you consider some factors. Aside from that, I was doing fine.

Rewind--->>

Back then in Nigeria, I worked as an analyst, my last experience really shaped my skillset, especially SQL. No one will tell you this.
SQL currently remains the number 1 skill any data professional should have. Then in my previous company, we had like 5 analysts, each writing SQL queries that are always complex and from that output making use of BI tools or python to analyze and present the result. It was a great collaboration.
From the growth I had, a series of thoughts started lingering if I should switch to data engineering since I already had good background knowledge in SQL, databases, and python. I just had to shelve it.

Fast foward>>>

The fact is that everyone has been applying to international countries and has been getting regret mail. I have been there too.
In May I applied for a position. The 1st stage was a code challenge/analytics questions to test my skills. After passing the stage, I had 3 extra interviews( technical, non-technical, and work culture fit test).

Mid-July, I got a mail that I was successful and that the immigration agency would reach out to me.
Omoooo, thats how I jumped up oooo. I can't remember how many times I jumped. It was a big moment for me. If someone had earlier told me I was going to the UK this year I would just laughed at the person.
Ending of july, that's how I got a mail from the company processing the immigration to enter my details. They got me my certificate of sponsorship in 2 weeks. The visa type is a skilled worker hence the need to get the sponsorship certificate.
During the process, I had to get Medium of instruction, BSc certificate/transcript which puts me on level C1 of English proficiency.
Early September, I applied for the Visa(Priority) which came out in a week.
The biggest jump I had this year was when I got a call from DHL that someone is waiting outside. I already knew it was my passport. Getting downstairs, I saw the man. He gave me the parcel, that's how I quickly climb upstairs and opened the door. The next move was opening the package. As I opened my passport, it automatically opened in the middle and I saw the visa stamp. That's how I jumped up oo, I was jumping like a child.

Ah! God bless you oh.
Hannania:

Your dreams are valid, but it seems you have too many dust. Let's clean it up.

1. An OOP hard core language is the bane to work at FAANG. Python, C++, Java are the norm. Meta will get you to learn Hack, which is a variation to PHP.

Please don't learn multiple languages randomly. Stick to one for learning DSA, and use Javascript/PHP for your web dev.

2. Don't waste inefficient time solving questions randomly. It's always good to see what others have donr successfully, and replicate it and even better.

Try and learn the fundamentals of all data structures first. Coursera has nice courses that teaches fundamentals. The reason why whites and Asians are good with cracking FAANG is because they have solid fundamentals. Use the linked below to get same resources schools like Harvard, Berkeley, and MIT train their students:
https://www2.eecs.berkeley.edu/Courses/CS61B/

There are about 17 patterns of which 90% of Leetcode programming questions are centered on. Know such patterns, and you'll find ease of solving the rest.
https://github.com/cl2333/Grokking-the-Coding-Interview-Patterns-for-Coding-Questions

When I started leetcoding few months ago, it was overwhelming. So I stopped and asked people I have as connections on linked who work at Google, Amazon, Dropbox, Meta, Microsoft, Palantir how they did it. They showed me the path to learning patterns, and right now, I could easily solve 2 questions a day on a medium like question on the 9 patterns I've learnt so far.

Follow this link for a detail guide:
It has 120 questions which cover all 17 patterns.

https://bowtiedfox.substack.com › fa...
10 Step Guide for Literally ANYONE to Land a 6-Figure FAANG Job.

When you've down the above, please check this link below on structured guide depending on the time you have. For 3 months plan, there are 75 questions, they call it Grind75 or Blind75. But when you edit the site for a six months plan, you get 169 questions. More indebt and enough to help you crack any interview. Here is it:

https://www.techinterviewhandbook.org/grind75?weeks=12

3.Concerning buying leetcode premium, please don't pressure yourself. Every question on leetcode premium is on github, solved or on youtube.

For Cracking the coding interview, check the link below with solutions on github. The readme has links for java,C++ and python.
https://github.com/careercup/CtCI-6th-Edition

The link below has all leetcode premium questions for virtually every known company that uses DSA as a test. Don't get overwhelmed, most repeat themselves.
https://github.com/hxu296/leetcode-company-wise-problems-2022

These days, I don't solve questions on leetcode, rather I created a repo and keep track of my work while solving the patterns on my laptop.

Good luck lad

You're a pus*y indeed. I wish NL had a block button
TastyFriedPussy:
Before you read this, first of all know sey I NO SEND ANYBODY MAMA tongue

First of all, I don't insult everybody who decided to go into programming, these are the kind of people I hate and insult:

1) doctors, pharmacist, engineers, and all those people studied or are studying professional Courses just to feel like Demi Gods in the society and belittle others. those ones that studied the course just to make their parents proud and make other people's parents jealous of them and use them as a case study for their children. The thing that makes me hate them the more is when I hear that they want to transmission into tech or any computer science related field because the stupid and totally useless course they studied isn't fetching them money. Ehh? You sey what? Transmission to where? CS? A course that you people and your parents use to look down upon and say all sorts of rubbish about the people that willingly choose to study them back then, that's what you now want to transition into, because una eye don dey clear sey tech is the future? E nor go work for una, thunder go scatter and destroy all of una. They want to come and over saturate our field for us. So, those are the first set of people I hate with passion( especially the doctors and pharmacists) everybody should stick to his or her field even if it's not fetching you money because of your stupidity, make you and sapa just dey there abeg, don't go to other peoples fields to go and oversaturate and spoil things for them tongue

2) the second set of people I hate are those one's that just don't know what to do with their lives tongue those one that just want to go into programming just because of money and not because it's their passion. They've gone online to read or heard somewhere where someone said "tech is the new oil" and all those sweet talks of fat salaries and remote work, before you know, them done rush leave the thing wey them dey do before, go buy laptop, them come here come they ask "which tech skill is the best to learn in order to make fast and hooge money" tongue lol, all those Kind yeye questions grin these are the second set of people I hate the most, idiots I'm the making that just want to come and spoil things for us. These one's are the type that end up as quack web devs, 10-40k web developers and Co grin

3) now the third and final set of people I hate are those fat mouth devs on this forum and beyond tongue Those one's that don't know how to close their mouth. All they know how to talk about is how much they earn or how much tech is paying. They go about spreading yeye gospel wey I no know who send them work tongue they are they breeders of the second set of people. Awon tensazangetsu20 and co tongue

These one's, I just dey pray make God allow me catch one of them one on one for real life, I go use blow Finnish That their big unclosable yeye mouth by force. Rubbish tongue

So I don't go about hating and insulting everybody, these are the kind of people I have problem with.

It's actually worse with foreign bookies. Speaking from experience.
Clinton4518:

Yeah, they do gub you especially those crook Nigerian bookies after they discover your methods and deem you unprofitable to them .Still you could take some measures to stay under the radar for some time to make huge profits
Reputable betting companies like bet365 can never confiscate your funds on the basis of advantage plays. The worst they could do is gub you.
I don't bother wasting time on some Nigerian bookies, they are thieves, would just restrict you quickly
Betting companies don't like such players, but do I care, they have been stealing peoples money unfairly.I don't pity them one bit

How do you send money to the bold at a good rate to complete the circle?
Omobola121:
Don't pay. Arb is not that difficult as he painted ot for you.

Firstly, we have card, currency and coins arbs. Although, i don't know the ones he want to teach you but i will break the three down for you a little so you choose your path.

Card Arbs is using banks cards on some platforms to purchase any currencies at bank rates then sell resell at the black market. Currently, cards are not that profitable because of the limits placed on them.

The highest limit so far apart from EXCLUSIVE CARDS is Gtb with the limit of $208 monthly. On one Gtb, you can see profit of 9kplus depending on where you use. Same explanation goes to other cards.

Currency Arbs is simply buying foreign currencies at a cheaper price from sellers then resell. For instance, buying paypal funds, payooner, skrill, Nettler, Wise, Grey, even buying dollar from people etc... I do buy paypal funds at around 520-590 depending on the volume then resell for 600+ etc...

Coins Arb is the most easiest but difficult one because it involves buying coins from one exchange at a lower price then move it to another exchange where the price is high. This involves opening accounts with different excahnges...there are some paid sites that gives update on prices differences on each exchanges. It is the sites we use to survey coins before purchasing. There are free sites but they lack details.

Another arb is getting someone outside your country to purchase usdt for you then you resell. We have common countries like Ghana, Kenya, India etc actively involved in this.
