Are you able to successfully send/transfer money from a US bank into your account back at home?

How much are these Innoson vehicles?

I sent an email asking them almost 2 months ago and I haven't heard back from them.

What alarms me is not reading about the rumor itself, it's that Nigerians are still believing in this stuff.

I was in Nigeria in August and set up a new one/sim. I set up vmail with the hope of being able to dial in and retrieving vmails when I am back in the US.

It seems that my ploy was foiled since when I call the phone number from US (I have the phone here but turned off) I get a "user not available" message.

Is this the normal protocol?

For sure but also did the smiles and the heartbreak caused to many unsuspecting Dodge Viper, Corvette owners.

Unless the car in question was a Rolls Royce,Bentley Mulsanne or Maybach Excelero. . .what your friend did was dumb! I just hope all that wasn't for a Toyota or Honda coz that would be really embarrassing to think about. If Nigeria was a country were one has a large array of legitimate guns to choose from both for home and car protection, then all these would come down to a bare minimum. Who will dare stop your car and ask you to roll down the window when over half the drivers are packing pistols and semi-automatics? Most legitimate guns people own in this country are double barrel hunting shotguns and that's not something you can carry every where you go.

Each individual situation is different and the reaction of course will be different.

But it sounds like we need to copy Texas "Castle Doctrine" law in Nigeria.

We can't continue to cower and just hand over our keys and expect them to stop their acts of evilness.

Honda vehicles are typically the guiding rod in automotive excellence. Their engineers are world class and industry leading. My last Honda was a 2007 Odyssey EXL, a superb and well crafted machine, no issues whatsover.

Before you abandon and/or discredit Honda please verify the ownership history of yrou vehicel and especially it's maintenance record.

Like I said very negligible on paper but I have personally paid $500 more for a Mitsubishi Evolution because I had to have it in Silver and they had to ship it in for me.

Regarding primer, etc, on very high dollar painting it is not uncommon to paint a car white (not primer) first before final color. I think Corvette did this on the competition yellow C5.

White colored cars, generally are cheaper. We are talking about $100 or so not a whole lot of money.

It also depends on the vehicle.

On your Lexus SUV I doubt if it makes that much difference. On Dodge Viper, there is a premium for Red and Yellow.

The last color anyone in Nigeria should  have is black due to the hear retention.

Here is one of my trucks. A basic Mazda truck with a puny little engine originally but I shoehorned a Ford V8 engine making almost 400 horsepower into it. Here are some pictures before new painting.

This is one of my specialities as a hobby but only in the USA where I have access to support and resources.

In my humble opinion, you should sell the car and buy something else. Engine swaps, even though they are cool but they never work out as easily as anticipated. Issues such as chassis interference, plumbing of exhaust, etc are tough issues.

I typically fit V8 engines into smaller cars. It's a sure fire way to get immense horsepower, say Mazda Miata with a stock 115 hp engine, you replace that engine with a Ford V8 making about 550 hp.

This W201 are one of the last great Mercedes before the bean counters took over the manufacturing.

I'm confident that a connoisseur will snap this up soon.

Question for those that have done this before, how do I go about exporting cars out of Nigeria to USA? What are the custom requirements and shipping fees?

You're getting a free car plus the seller is giving you N350,000 on top of that. Let me explain.

Even if I give you a free car here in the US, it will cost you about 250,000 to ship plus another 250,000 to clear plus other stuff.
