Business / Re: 10 Years Abroad Returning Home: What Kind Of Business Can I Get Into? by EuroMeko(m): 8:15pm On Aug 03, 2011 |
Thanks to OP for starting this thread. I have been reading it with zeal as I am in the same situation. Thanks for all the positive posters. BACs post was spot on. PS: I have been in the US since 86. I came home last week for a party and I suddenly had a moment of clarity. I need to come back home but with a business plan. Thanks once again. |

Thanks for taking time to answer my queries. I am assuming that there're exceptions to people returning home to live. Or do I have to get rid of my personal classic cars and purchase newer models? |

Vicjustice: Well to be honest at least these chap appears to be alive. I saw two decomposing human bodies in Ibadan two weeks ago. One was in the divider across from Zenith Bank in Challenge in Ibadan for about 5 days. Another one in the "exclusive" GRA section. I have pictures but it will serve no editorial value here. |

First rule of thumb. Don't assume that because they are in the US that they suddenly have gained some level of high level customer service. It took me repeated tries, alternating numbers, begging for help, getting abused by some receptionist, before I could get my passport renewed. Moral of the story is tenacity. |

Vicjustice: Nice to see another loyalist. I like Alitalia and used it exclusively when I was still travelling between Nigeria and Europe. I don't really feel AF, partly due to the Concorde incident. I purchased a Delta flight but they used AF as they are SkyTeam partners. |

jay bee: Remember that I said that "I" haven't been to one. I was at Charles De Gaulle on Thursday morning and I wasn't bussed. You can clearly see the ramps (upper and lower) for our Airbus A380 to San Fransisco. I was at Zurich in the early 90s and I was never bussed, perhaps it's a new system. I haven't had the pleasure of visiting Spain by aircraft yet. |

Some personal opinions. I have no qualms with the views of the presenter. He expressed his own opinion and I actually share about 90% of it. He did not at any point compare Lagos to any other city. I haven't been to any international airport where they have to bus you to your airplane. Jetliners can back up from the gate but it's insane and ridiculous. The only one I've ever heard from was an empty cargo plane that was backed up from a gate (why it was at a gate is unknown) and the maintenance crew (not aPilot) was tired of waiting for the ground crew to tow him to the hangar for repairs so he fired it up. (I'll try to find the news article). As far as being towed to the gate, I think it's ridiculous. Not sure why MMA is doing that. |

Autos / Re: Bike Racing! by EuroMeko(m): 5:43am On Aug 02, 2011 |
motocross: I regularly attend motocross races but mostly support friends. I am more into on road racing with higher horsepower bikes with more trap speeds. There is no Senior category per see. For your track, based on design, you can specify engine limit. So to start with you can say 250ccc is Senior class, or maybe even 150cc and as more folks join in and invest more in bikes then you can raise the level of the class. A brand new 2012 Honda CRF450 MSRPs at $8,5k, while a CRF150 is only $5k so you can start seeing the reasoning behind class suggestion. Of course used bikes are plentiful and significantly cheaper. Most folks in the US get into the hobby with aplomb and after 2 or 3 rides and the hospital bills from broken legs, etc they sell the bikes off really cheap. If you want to start by providing/renting your bikes for your facility I suggest that you look into preowned motorcycles. being off road vehicles they will get trashed quickly anyways though you can replace the plastics frequently. One more note, may I suggest that you configure your track for multi usage as opposed to strictly motocross? With very little effort, you can convert the track to other uses during the off seasons. Sorry one more thing, I will be interest in leasing certain exclusive rights if available such as trackside advertising or selling refreshments or spare parts. Let me know as you have further questions. Feel free to email me via my profiel email address, I haven't something to discuss with you offline. |

Pardon me for my confusion. 13 plots = 2 acres, yes? Is it N700 thousand per plot or N700 thousand for all 13 plots (2 acres)? Additionally, do you have a google satellite image of this land? |
