Who is she and who cares if she cheats on her Husband? That's between the two of them, it's a private matter.

I swear some of these people have crazed ego.

It's newsworthy to me if she finds the cure for cancer, sets up an orphanage, etc

Are there free hotspots in Lagos and Ibadan?

If so where?
Family / Re: by EuroMeko(m): 12:05pm On Jul 12, 2011
Define cheat?

When any significant other uses sex as a weapon, as a bargaining chip, withholds it then that person should not be surprised when infidelity occurs.

It's not a Man Vs Woman thing as both sexes cheat.

IMHO, the question should be, what can I do to keep my significant other on the straight path.

Good point bro, but who holds all the Intellectual property rights on these inventions White Americans!!!
They bought the black inventors out, !!!

What is the end result of most patents other than to perhaps make life a little better for the populace? Money.

So it seems that the inventors benefited from their inventions and were paid for it, nothing wrong with that, we have free commerce here in the US.

There is no such thing as white Americans when it comes to corporations. A lot of the big corporations have black americans leading them or have high executive positions in them.

The days of white versus black is mostly gone, IMHO.

Here is a picture I took at JPL Labs in Pasadena when I went to see Curiosity, the next Mars rover that is slated to blast off later this year.

Right there is an african american rocket scientist.

I have one more picture of a female black american scientist that was showing me her work on a spaceship that will land on a meteor in space and collect data. I will post it later.

I brought this up just to show that the work continues. Nigeria should aspire and maybe people like this can come back home to teach in our universities.

Here's Curiosity.

What bothers me about the pic the most is the very casual stance that my Brothers are displaying in the picture.

They seem very comfortable.

I am not blaming them or looking down on them, far be from it, but it seems that the condition has made this to be an almost acceptable situation for them.

By the way that stagnant mucky water will for sure have all sorts of organisms living in there.

I just have two more things to say:

Page for African American inventors http://www.black-inventor.com/ to see accomplishments of African Americans in the US. Perhaps Africa as a whole or Nigeria in general should be cuddling up to African Americans to see how they can help the continent.

To close, why is the forum owner allowing this contentious thread to continue?

I yield the floor to my American and Nigerian countrymen.
Autos / Re: Can She Ask For A Refund? Help by EuroMeko(m): 3:51am On Jul 11, 2011
It depends. When the vehicle was purchased, was their a warranty/guaranty on the vehicle from the dealer?

It doesn't matter if the vehicle is used or not, it could still have a warranty from the seller. If it does have a warranty then ask the seller, if it does not, then the seller has no obligation to assist.

N2.6M is about $17.5k and that's about a $10k care here in the US.

WE don't have the resources they have besides this is natural disaster and it happened in the US a month or two ago.

Hogwash.

First, we have the resources, it's just being misused.

Secondly, you Guys need to stop comparing real disasters in the US that occurs very very rarely with a self induced calamity that occurs numerous times a years during the rainy season in most places in Nigeria.

I truly feel sorry for the innocent homeowners, businesses that surfer losses.

Politics / Re: Building Collapse! Who Is To Blame? by EuroMeko(m): 5:22pm On Jul 09, 2011
GeoSegun is absolutely right.

The first thing is for soil analysis to be done.

You can build a house on silt, sand, rock, etc but they Geo will prepare the study and then the Architect designs the structure based on additional reports from other engineers.

The same principles exist in the auto industry.

One issue I think in Nigeria is that houses are mostly built on an individual basis. In the US, as an example, the city would have plated the entire city and did this analysis and already have reports available showing what the substrate is for a particular neighborhood. This is how they can quickly decide if a permit is being sought for a house in a flood zone or when you sek a permit for a well they can quickly deny it if it's near the water table or not.

We have a long way to go in Nigeria. It's a shame as we have very qualified and well studied Nigerian professionals but greed na wa o.

Many moons ago, there was an official bus system that I believe was set up by Lagos state authority. Pray do tell that this is still in service.

Travel / Re: Nigerian man mistakenly jailed for trying to cash check at Chase Bank by EuroMeko(m): 8:53pm On Jul 08, 2011
TheCongo:

And how did the banker know the guy was Nigerian?

In the US, Nigerians are viewed just as other Africans. A lot of Americans can't make out the difference between a Nigerian and a South-African or a Zambian

It would be a mistake to suggest that the guy was arrested because he was Nigerian.

An astute response.
Travel / Re: Nigerian man mistakenly jailed for trying to cash check at Chase Bank by EuroMeko(m): 3:43am On Jul 08, 2011
There's got to be more to the story.

I've cashed checks many times for $20k, $39k and even $110k with no issues. Well the $110k one required me to come back the next day.

I wanted to respond so NLers don't think Nigerians get arrested for trying to cash a check all the time in the US.

By the way just because it's on some TV website doesn't make it credible. There are many cases of news studios that are duped.

Travel / Re: U.k Immigration Is The Most Heartless by EuroMeko(m): 8:15pm On Jul 07, 2011
Heartless is perhaps a heavy word to have used.

Listen, when your friend applied for the visa i am certain she was informed that the arrival immigration officer still has to determine if she will be allowed entry. Right?

The British immigration officer has only one thing on his mind, to protect the British empire from scourge of illegal immigrants and it seems that he did his job if you look at the evidence.

When I travel, I usually wrap all gifts and label them with the name of the recipient.
Travel / Re: How Do I Get A Nigrian Visa by EuroMeko(m): 2:24pm On Jul 07, 2011
owugiri:

@EuroMeko, What makes you think I won't be able to board the plane? Heathrow airport officials dont care what passport you are holding as long as you leave the shores of the Uk.
They can't stop me from using a British passport with no Nigerian visa.
They will only be concerned if I show up without a ticket!

This is based on personal and direct experience and specifically at Heathrow.

The airlines refused to allow my Nieces to board the flight to Nigeria because their American Passport was not stamped with a Nigerian Visa. They had to run around London for an extra two days to get a Visa. This was in 2003 or so. Things might have changed.

Someone else on this thread has also said the same thing.

Listen, when I applied for my passport renewal here in the states I downloaded the renewal form from the Washington Office filled it out, included the Money Order for $65 as stated clearly on their form and send it to them. They promptly returned the whole shebang unprocessed and stated that they do not renew passports there, I wasted $40 in shipping. So the website was wrong.

I called the Atlanta Office, they said send it to them and include a $45 money order. When I asked to clarify since the form said $65, the Lady flew off the handle and basically screamed at me while asking me how I dare question her. I was calm, see I needed her help, so I swallowed my pride (Fela - everybody get him power everywhere - lol). Renewed Passport arrived in less than a week.

So moral of the story, when dealing with our country, you need to appeal to human nature, you're not the first person to take their child home. Speak to the Embassy as a collaborator and I think you'll get much more ahed. You;re dealing with a 3rd world country even though the office is in a 1st world country.

Best of luck on your travels.
