Former Weapons Instructor at the Nigerian Army, Ugwoke
Oloto Odobo has celebrated his wife, Precious Chioma
Ugwoke, who has just graduated from Secondary school.

It would be recalled that Ugwoke went viral in 2018 after he
announced that his wife went back to secondary school after
child bearing. She had started from JSS3.

Taking to Facebook on Wednesday, June 22, the Lagos State
University graduate, disclosed that his wife has concluded her
WAEC exams and wants to study Law.

"On September 24, 2018, I posted the picture of my wife
returning from her new school, St Andrew's Secondary School,
Ibagwa-Ani, Nsukka LGA, where she resumed academic
pursuit after we had our last child. She resumed in JS3," he
wrote.

"Encouraged by the overwhelming responses from the public,
she braved all odds and burned the midnight oil until today,
June 22, 2022 when she wrote her last paper, Government, in
the West African Examination Council Senior Certificate
Examination.

"We ask for your continued support and prayers as we await
her results. She says she wants to study law. We believe she
can do it. Let the pictures complete the story!"

A photo has surfaced online showing a former deputy senate president, Ike Ekweremadu and his wife, Beatrice moments after they were arrested and taken to court in the United Kingdom.

Recall that the duo were arraigned on Thurdsday at the Uxbridge Magistrate Court in London over claims that they
trafficked a 15-year-old boy from Lagos to the UK with the
intent to harvest his organs.

The court denied them bail. It was gathered that the couple’s child is suffering from a chronic kidney disease and needed a transplant.

The couple are currently in police custody after being denied bail by the UK court.

stop them from registering for their PVC ahead of the 2023
election.

The lady in the video she shared, said this occurred at Lugbe
Federal Housing Estate in Abuja.

She alleged that they were tagged “Harina” (Christians) by
one of the Muslim men who came to the registration center
with some young men. According to the lady, they had to
leave to avoid any form of violence.

Members of the Redeemed Christian Church of God have been
mandated to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards.

Pastor Enoch Adeboye, General Overseer of the Redeemed
Christian Church of God (RCCG) gave the directive in a letter
issued this month.

He asked every member of the church to obtain their
Permanent Voter Cards (PVC) and vote in the 2023 general
elections.

According DailyTrust, the instruction was given in a letter
dated June 17, 2022, from the Intercontinental Youth Pastor/
PICR, Belemina Obunge, and addressed to pastors in charge of
provinces, stated: “We refer to the above and wish to kindly
inform you that we have received a directive from the Mission
Authority to ensure a high level of sensitization in all our
parishes on the need for all our members to get their
Permanent Voter’s Card (PVC) in the ongoing Continuous Voter
Registration (CVR) exercise.

“Based on the above, Provincial Hqtrs and Mega Parishes are
encouraged to use their parish as a centre for one or two days
to facilitate their members’ and interested neighbours’
registration.”

Meanwhile, the Independent National Electoral Commission
(INEC) has agreed to extend the ongoing continuous voter
registration (CVR) exercise by 60 days.

INEC’s initial deadline for voters’ registration was at the end of
June 2022.

She revealed that the marriage was an "arranged" one and she politely declined.

Seven years after, the man sent her a message to laugh at her for still being single and to let her know he has a wife.

The surgeon didn't reply him and this seemed to hurt his ego, so he accused her of still having the "same attitude".

Antonio Rudiger has been officially unveiled as a Real Madrid

Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka, the fiery Enugu Catholic Priest, has
apologized and prayed for the Labour Party Presidential
candidate, Mr. Peter Obi, according to Daily Post.

Mbaka made the apology after declaring that Peter Obi can
never be Nigeria’s President.

He had during his latest ministration at the Adoration groundsaid that unless God ceases to exist, Obi would never smell the seat of the President adding that it was better to have an old man as President than a ‘stingy young man’.

The comment by the Catholic priest had stirred diverse
reactions from Nigerians who accused him of hating Peter Obi because he refused to donate to his church.

However, the cleric in a statement he personally signed said

The Indigenous People of Biafra has listed a pastor (name
withheld) and others as kingpin of the criminal elements
codenamed unknown gunmen terrorising Southeast.

The group, in a statement from its Media and Publicity
Secretary, Emma Powerful,

said the pastor and his alleged accomplices were once IPOB
members before they became “fallen angels.”

It insisted that it has never been behind the ongoing insecurity
and criminalities in the region, calling on government to fish

gang leaders.These men are also not members of IPOB and

IPOB family and were therefore expelled to avoid

sponsored by the Nigeria Government and its compromised
security agencies particularly DSS and Army personnel to join

Operatives of the Delta State Police Command have arrested
51 suspected members of Eiye Confraternity cult group in
Ogwashi-Uku.

Spokesperson of the command, DSP Bright Edafe, in a
statement on Thursday, June 16, said the suspected cultists
were arrested during their anniversary celebration in a hotel.

The police also recovered two cut to size guns, one expended
cartridge, Eiye Confraternity regalia from the suspects.

"On 15/6/2022, the Command received a tip off, that some
suspected Eiye Confraternity Cult group will be marking their
anniversary in Ogwashi-Uku," the statement read.

"The Command swiftly acted on this information and located
where and when the ceremony will be held. CP Ari Muhammed Ali detailed the Command’s Buffalo Patrol team, operatives from Area Command Ogwashi-Uku and Ogwashi- Uku Division, stormed the venue at Big Apple Hotel in Ogwashi-Uku,"

"The suspects on sighting the police took to their heels, while
some of them shot at the Police. They were given a hot chase
by the team and fifty-one (51) suspected cultists were

Bishop of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Sokoto, Most Rev.
Mathew Hassan Kukah has said that democracy is not
developing at the right pace in Nigeria because those making the laws are benefiting from the system.
The Convener of the National Peace Committee who spoke in an interview on Channels Television, stated that as long as politicians make the rules, there would not be an improvement in the country.

Kukah said;

“The problem with Nigeria’s situation is that the sinners
are the ones trying to make the law. These are the
consequences of where we find ourselves now.

“I speak to the fact that as long as the universities are the
way they are, as long as we do not have privileged intellect and the diagnostic tools required to refine processes, as long as we are hoping that politicians are the ones to set their own rules, as long as we expect that almost all of these are politics, there would not be an improvement in the country.

“In my view, had it been we have a country that is working, a country that takes research seriously, it is the business of political scientists to equip the people in power with the required tools for analysis, to the options that are available to ensure things go the way they should go.

“But unfortunately, if you have a situation where the universities are not funded, the country itself behaves as if
it wants to close the universities, what else do you expect?

“Unless and until this government and other government in
Nigeria takes academic exercise very seriously, we can not
expect the person who is sick to be the one to provide the
medicine for his cure.”

Kukah also acknowledged that the amendment in the electoral law would instil greater confidence in Nigeria’s democracy.

He added;

“Gradually, as the quality of people’s lives is increasing,
people can become a little bit relaxed but for now, politics
in Africa and Nigeria seems to be a bit tense because of
the nature of the sharing of the political benefits.

“If people in power continue to practise nepotism when
people feel that they have voted and the people who are
benefiting are those who have just come out of the comfort of their rooms, they are bound to feel frustrated.

These are ingredients for violence in Nigerian politics.”

A Federal lawmaker from Kogi state has allowed his May
salary to be displayed on TV to counter claim of them taking
bogus salaries home.

Hon Leke Abejide, representing Yagba East/West/Mopamuro
constituency in the 9th National Assembly, noted that he
earns N697,000 monthly, asides his allowance in the interview
on Channels Television.

According to him, it is usually not enough to take care of
constituency needs which are up to N30-40m monthly. He
also disclosed that he is always left with less than N1.5m
monthly.

He also recalled how a politician from Adamawa who worked
in an oil company, left the National Assembly to return to his
job after getting elected in the 8th assembly because of the
“meager amount”.

He noted that the former lawmaker left his oil company to
contest in the election after being told that house of Reps
members are paid N30m, with a take home amount of N15m
monthly.

Abejide also said some of those who talk about federal
lawmakers making money, have been elected and are now
regret contesting.

The lawmaker further stated that only difference in their job is
their constituency project which amounts to N113m annually.
He however added that out of the sum, the federal government
takes 18.5%.

He also said that it is only in this administration that the
federal government’s cut from the constituency project is not
taken.

Pandemonium broke out in the Badagry area of Lagos state
today June 15, after an American lady who was allegedly
hypnotized by a suspected Yahoo boy came back to her
senses.

According to residents in the area, the lady said she arrived in
Nigeria from California three days ago and has been in the
house of the yet-to-be-identified boy.

Trouble broke out this morning when she 'regained'
consciousness and demanded how and why she was in his
house. Neighbors got involved, separated them, and then took
them to the Bailey, the community leader for further
interrogation.

The state police command is yet to react to this development.

Grammy winner, Burna Boy, has finally spoken up on the
shooting at a club in Lagos.

TORI reported the Lagos State Police Commissioner’s Special
Squad detained five policemen attached to Burna Boy for
attempted murder after they shot two clubbers Lawrence
Irebami, the husband of a woman Burna Boy allegedly made
sexual advances to and another identified simply as Tolu, at
Club Cubana in Lagos last Wednesday.

Police sources said the singer allegedly fled the country
immediately after the incident to avoid questioning, adding:
“Already, five police escorts attached to the singer have since
been arrested and are being detained at the Lagos State Police
Command, Ikeja.”

A police source revealed that the escorts involved in the
incident did not notify the police about the incident. According
to the source, it was eyewitnesses that reported the shooting
incident to the police.

Addressing the matter in a Twitter post on Wednesday, June
15, Burna Boy pointed out that he was not shocked about the
reports linking him to the incident.

Microsoft has announced the retirement of its oldest browser, Internet Explorer after 27 years of service.

First released in 1995 as an add-on package for Windows 95, the browser was provided for free as part of the package by Microsoft. As per the company notification, Microsoft will officially withdraw its support for Internet Explorer on June 15, 2022, placing it into permanent retirement.

“We are announcing that the future of Internet Explorer on
Windows 10 is in Microsoft Edge. Not only is Microsoft Edge a faster, more secure and more modern browsing experience than Internet Explorer, but it is also able to address a key concern: compatibility for older, legacy websites and applications. Late Alaehobi was kidnapped from his home in Ukpor, Nnewi South Local Government Area of the state on Thursday, May 9 but his abductors did not call his family members to demand ransom. His remains were sadly found in a neighboring town, Utuh, on Saturday, June 11.

Reacting to the recent development, the spokesperson of the state police command, DSP Toochukwu Ikenga, said;
“When our operatives got to the scene, the corpse had
been removed by some persons, we are yet to identify, and we have also ascertained that the corpse is that of the youth leader.”

Ukpor, the headquarters of Nnewi South Local Government
Area has remained one of the most troubled parts of the state, since violent crime erupted in Anambra.

El-Rufai spoke on Friday in an interview with Channels
Television.

With the election of presidential candidates of political parties, there have been concerns about the religion of the candidates and their intended running mates.

Since the two major political parties — All Progressives
Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) —
have Muslim presidential candidates, many people, including the Christian Association of Nigeria have asked that their running mates should be Christians.

Asked to react to the speculation of a Muslim-Muslim
presidential ticket in the APC, the Kaduna governor said the
business of governance has nothing to do with religion.

He added that religion will not solve the problems of Nigeria, adding it is the competency of the elected leaders that will solve the problems.

“I don’t look at people from the lens of Muslim-Muslim or
Christian-Christian, some of my closest friends are Christians,” he said.

“It was Pastor Tunde Bakare, a pentecostal pastor, who took
me to CPC, not President Muhammadu Buhari. I’m very close to Pastor Bakare. I’m very close to many Christians.

“I don’t think the business of governance has to do with
religion. I think we should look for the best person for the job. The person who will get the job done.

“I’m the wrong person to ask that question because in my
state I picked a very competent and qualified woman as my
running mate in the 2019 elections.

“But just because she happens to be a Muslim, people were
calling it Muslim-Muslim ticket and they said we are going to lose. We didn’t. We won overwhelmingly.

“This fixation of Nigerians with religion instead of competence, capacity and capability is quite sad and pathetic and I urge you as the media to take religion out of governance and let’s look for capacity, competence and delivery.

“I don’t think we should be looking at religion. We want to
develop this country. When I get into a plane I don’t ask about the religion of the pilot. When I go to the hospital, I don’t ask about the religion of the doctor. I just want to get well and get to my destination even on an aircraft.

“Nigeria is at crossroads. We face very serious dangers in
security, economic meltdown, and global issues affecting us.
All that people are concerned with as far as who will be
president and vice-president, is religion.

“It is not our religion that will solve our problems. It is people
who are competent, capable that will address Nigeria’s
problems, unite the country and put it on a progressive path.”
