This is really terrifying and shocking. I hope Echidime comes to respond to this. |
Following comments ahead the^^^lol It's like these Yoruba folks are begining to see the Igbos as their mortal rivals as before the War. It seems the temporary advantage sustained after the Civil War has almost faded away. Why dont they get industrious and stop portraying JEALOUSY? |
I can't believe that an elected Governor can be uttering this kind of reckless comment. Is he just talking so that people can be aware of his presence, and in the process spewing nonsensical crap? The governor's alleged campaign against corruption is mere hypocrisy. Was he not the same governor who was indicted for corrupt practices by the Sanusi-led CBN report? That report linked Mimiko with conniving with the former CEO of Intercontinental Bank Erastus Akingbola. Let the governor come forward to account for the N38 billion Ondo State fund that was missing through shady oil deal, and the N 1 billion that is alleged to have paid as kick-back to him. I hope those women realize that he's just a man who speaks from both sides of his mouth. |
malabite:Well said, my brother. It's funny how some black Americans are working so hard to deny their African identity, same way the Igbo denials are doing. |
~Bluetooth:And what's wrong with the Yorubas re-uniting with their lost tribes in Benin Republic? |
Enacting laws for the public execution of corrupt politicians is the only remedy for corruption in Nigeria. |
~Bluetooth:To unite with their lost tribes in Benin. |
@jason. I'm cool, dude. let him prove he has an igbo name and i'll edit my post. That's my condition. |
@ OP. Can you kindly edit your letter and remove Chukwudi from that your ridiculous fake name and replace them with your real yoruba names. Are you a bleeping COWARD? If you are that sacred of IBB? Never you hide under any igbo name again to spew your lily-livered protest. Now do the right thing. |
Is it that rampant over there? What if they dont hug but still do the main thing, wetin go happen? Oya Mai Suya, answer this question for your brother behalf. |
mounace120:lol. All these scammers no dey give up o! Una no dey change format? Same format everyday. BTW, the octopus don die. Abi you want scam dead octopus? |
oludashmi:Hahaha. You crack me up, chick. What's the big deal about telling people where i'm from? I used to hang it on my signature of late. I didn't give you my state, i gave you my hometown, wtf. For all i care you can't compare any place in Osun to it(if it had got the rightful attention). It's one of the commercial nerves of Nigeria. You want to set me up? Do you usually read your posts before pressing 'reply', lady? I almost thought you were civil. ![]() |
^^ ^lol Why do you always assume that every Igbo person is from a village? I'm from Aba, and by all standard, it's not a village. Yes, i'm going home in December. And why do you ask how much i taking along? You still haven't told me your state? |
I'll like to suggest that if we even want to use some of these foreign names, we can localize them to spell like our native languages. For example, i've seen some Igbo people Igbonize a biblical greek name like 'Peter' into 'Pita'. There's a Yoruba movie titled 'Jenifa', which i think is probably a Yorubanized form for the Welsh name 'Jennifer'. If we can localize some of these foreign names into our own forms like the English do, it might still be fine. |
oludashmi:Whao! Your granddad must have been a very nice man, then. How i wish you were born in the SE! You see, we really love some of your folks that are nice. If confirmed, we are quick to integrate them as one of our own. I just can't imagine Yoruba folks in Lag. all going to an elderly Igbo man for advice or making him a 'Baale'(chief). They will always feel he is a clueless 'omo Ibo'. You see how open-minded my people are? You dont need to block the roadIt's not that the place is not safe, forget Aba, it's just the only place that has been unstable in recent times. Every other SE cities is safe. The thing is that the place is not good due to neglect and lack of federal presence in the area by anti-Igbo regimes. So there are not federal parastatals where people can work and so on. But some are now coming back home. The nearest convenient place would have been Port Harcourt but own Igbo clans there said they are confused if they are Igbo or not. And did a lot of terrible things to us like confiscating all our assets, including lands, as 'abandoned property' after the war, so many Igbos were discouraged from living there. Hopefully, with a pro-Igbo administration or if Nigeria has an Igbo president, some of these neglects may be addressed and more Igbos will come home. Most of my igbo friends have notIt's the same thing with some of the Yoruba classmates i had then. Many of them born and bred in Lagos don't even know their 'home towns', some only know that there parents are from Oyo, Ondo, Ekiti and the rest, but have never set their foot there and dont even plan to. Yoruba pple no know their homeHaba! What are you telling me? Are you an Awori? That's why i asked you of your state which you refused to answer. Apart from the Aworis, no other Yoruba clans can say they are from Lagos. They all migrated there from their various states. But are your so-called 'abule'(home towns) not villages? I'm sure not all of you come from places like Ibadan, Ilesa, Ilorin, etc. I think some still take transportion from these places into the more rural areas-that is what we mean by villages. |
This Ogun state is becoming notorious for bank robbery. It seems all the criminals chased out of Lagos are now resident there. |
I wonder why these unknown assailants can not come out in the day time to fight. These plateau folks are just some clueless fools. They should have been used to how these COWARDS operate and set up volunteering vigilant groups to protect their women and children at night. It seems the Plateau men just love drinking, intimacy and sleeping. And some of them will come here to start pasting crap of how they are one and the same with Fulani. MORONS. |
The memo was a response to theThis is the real reason for all these long stories. The bank is trying to avoid any form of compensation and instead cunning came up with this cock-and-bull story. Why did they have to wait until they were asked to make compensation before knowing Durojaiye was a 'fraud'? I just wish there's legal grounds on which the young lad can sue this bank for deformation of character. Nonsensical crap excuse. |

chic2pimp:Sharrapp, dia. You want me to start washing Yoruba's dirty linen in public by digging up news items? Like i told oludashmi i just want to speak the truth, not to cause oofeinse. www.compassnewspaper.com/NG/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=68574:man-impregnates-16-year-old-daughter&catid=43:news&Itemid=799 www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-464450.0.html www.punchng.com/Articl.aspx?theartic=Art200805312574615 www.pmnewsnigeria.com/2010/10/07/policeman-impregnates-daughter-4-times/ www.newsstarng.com/index.php/news/5265-father-impregnates-daughter-he-threatened-me-with-jujudaughter- |
Apart from most of their surnames, 95% of european first names have their meanings. Many English first names today are anglicized forms of hebraic, greek, arabic names, etc. I can say much about African American names, but i think they have their meaning if not lost in the slave trade era. Check this site for more meanings and sources of names. www.behindthename.com/ |
oludashmi:Haba, funmi, you disappoint me, Lag chicks dey dey extra informed. What you said here is trash talk. But it's a common fallacy held by Yorubas in Lag. One of my teacher said it in class one day, i asked him about it he said that he doesn't have specific example, but was also told the same. Don't let me remind you of Abiola and his DNA-failed kids. You know you guyz say so muchDid we block the road at onitsha for you people to come to the SE to see us do own 'supposedly' bad things? It's because of your people's over-bloated ego, that you are better than Igbos, that is killing you people.(though they are quite a handful especially in Enugu, Coal city) Will be going to your village thisI no be Yoruba wey no know their village again. Actually, i dont like staying in Lag, its too crowded for my liking. I hang out in PH and Aba when i'm around. What about you, which state are you from? And hope you know your village? |
^^^ thanks Andre for correcting that malicious misinformation on the Igbo red caps. Please, i'll like to ask, What are untitled Igbo men supposed to hear with their native outfits, as opposed to the red caps?(Explanation with pix if any will be appreciated). Thanks. |
Whao. I need to see the autopsy report of this Paul the Genius. If it were a dog, i would have suspected a certain part of Nigeria for foul play. I think most of those World Cup fans who wanted his meat as Barbecue/Suya should be paraded as suspects by the police. Nonsense gluttons. |
The PDP is a JOKE. The EFCC is definitely a BARRAGE OF COMEDY and just a tool for political intimidation. The EFCC has just shown that it is not ready to fight corruption. Can the PDP or the EFCC stop these accused persons from contesting? Never! Why are they trying to bypass the judiciary? Doesn't anyone has a clue among these folks. ![]() I think Farida Waziri is putting her competence in handling this job of fighting corruption in doubt. I wouldn't be surprised if the NASS moves a petition for her removal. She should have discreetly gone to court to get an injunction to bar these supposedly corrupt politicians from contesting the 2011 elections, pending the completion of the prosecution of the allegations against them. Let's stop lying to ourselves in Nigeria, except we deal with this cankerworm called CORRUPTION, we can never move Nigeria a step forward. We'll still continue going round in circles. |
Inked_Nerd:Yep, not only me. Many of the intelligent Igbo dudes. I know you already know Ezeuche. We have Abagworo, Asha, Onlytruth, Chyz, Dede1, Afam4eva, Mikeansy(if you dont like me, you'll like this last name, he's extremely analytical). In the Culture section, you'll find these 2 Igbo dudes holding fort- Ezeagu and Andre Uweh The list is not exhaustive, some many other Igbo dudes i can't remember, just come often. There are equally other females there, instead of talking trash with those losers. |
^^^ lol. You just proved my point with that statement of yours. Have you heard about the word 'intrinsically' unfaithful? That's what Yoruba men are. I swear it's only a Yoruba woman that can handle that urge of Yoruba men because they are equally good if they want to. What gets me is that their targets are usually their friends' wives or daughters. They are even known to sleep with their own daughters, which is kind of exclusive to them minus the 'calabars'. They see it as some kind of 'superiority conquest'. It has to be a married woman for the thrill to be achieved. It's publicly encouraged and celebrated. It is further encouraged by the muslim polygamists among your people. I dont want that kind of destiny for my sisters. Yoruba women are used to it and it's fine if they like it. Yes, once in a while you find an Igbo married man with such tendencies, but believe me, they are largely in the minority. That's why like you said we dont bother about DNA tests because unfaithfulness is rare and a strange concept. The belief is that the gods of the land will kill such a woman or man that flirts outside their matrimonial home. The embrace of Christianity from the europeans imbibed monogamy into our psyche and nothing can change that. An Igbo man can never be too BOLD bringing a second wife into his home. His mother must not hear it. |
oludashmi:Funmi, bawo? Se o si wa ni Lag. Moni cousin mi kan l'eko ti oma trip fun ti o ba ri. He's the kind of Igbo product that Yoruba girls roll themselves over for(fair, tall and cute). O complain fun mi pe awon girls Yoruba won je ki ohun gbadun. Mo fe ki o meet tie someday. Ok, back to your question. It's a common fact that Yoruba men are careless with women. They are generally big flirts who are never faithful to their wives and dont respect the sacred institution of marriage. Yoruba women are quite adapted to dealing with this kind of philandering of their men. They are used to it from the founding of the world. That is why i pity clueless Igbo girls who are fancying Yoruba men. I hope they tell their stories with a happy ending in the future. I will always tell my sisters the truth, if they refuse to listen and go ahead. Best of luck. An Igbo man, on the other hand, will do everything to protect his wife and marriage because they just dont have the time to be looking for 'ale', or for philandering with everything in skirts. This why a Yoruba woman or any other women are better protected in the arms of an Igbo man than vice versa. I speak the truth, babe.(no ofeinse). Maa send mail si e soon concerning cousin mi. |

EzeUche0:The bolded are still Arabic names. Larai and Turai are an Hausanized form of the Arabic names Balarabe and Thurayya |
My parents made that mistake because they thought it was cool. But my baby is going to have 3 cool african names(first, middle, and last names) |
Let's just sit, relax and watch as the Battle of the SS/Northern Titans begins. This political clash is getting interesting as the days go by. |
