Sports › Re: PSG Set To Beat City To Messi After Neymar Asked To Bring Former Teammate by ezechi24(m): 1:10pm On Aug 28, 2020 |
Sanchez01: Messi has become the fair woman that is being courted by both the gentlemen and the thugs and 'she' keeps courting almost all parties to the best of 'her' ability.
The story for Messi and Neymar is fast looking funny and strange. Both tasted European-level success when they played together and then Neymar broke off the union for being in Messi's shadow. It has been nothing but horror for both players since 2017 that Neymar left. Now they are both seeking to play together and possibly replicate the success they had around 2013.
The twist here is: Messi wants to play under Guardiola, and with Neymar in the team which is why he is pushing for City to sign Neymar. Neymar knows he cannot leave as he still has an active contract that will ruin his career should he attempt to terminate it or trigger the contract. His best chance is to whisper to the money bags in Paris to reel Messi in like a great white.
Meanwhile, City has offered 'two sacrifices' to ease and cushion Messi's asking price. The game changer here is not just where Messi wants to play or who he wants to play with or under. The one with the ace here is Adidas who sponsors Messi. PSG and City are Nike controlled, which is a stumbling block somehow. Manchester United and Juventus are both Adidas sponsored which is somehow favourable to both clubs if they show interest.
Why it was different with Ronaldo is because he outrightly chose Juventus and didn't allow to be courted like Messi. In situations as Messi's, the premium sponsors often wade in and help (in some cases pay a part of the fee) to see the said player signed to the club they have business deals with. If Manchester United show keen interest in Messi like City and PSG, Messi will most likely move to Old Trafford. In your dreams...fact messi ain't going nowhere...keep this date. |

solonubinho: Okay. First, I would like to know the basis upon which you hid behind your screen to refer to someone who has pointed out the obvious truth backed by pure logic and fact as dumb.
Second, You claim something is great yet there are a lot of "if not for this, if not for that" in your sentence. How does 'greatness' and 'if not for x' go in the same sentence? It's like saying Borno is the best state in Nigeria, if not for Boko haram. The very fact that there is an "if not for..." automatically disqualifies the subject from whatever greatness you're trying to ascribe onto it.
Have you ever heard people say the English premier league is the best if not for (bad governance, poor standards, poor infrastructre)? Nigerians need to stop focusing on 'if not fors' and start focusing on reality. Since you have refused to address reality, I'll help you. The league is poorly funded, the facilities are trash, club management is disappointing you cant even compare it to the South African league. So what travesty of an idea do you base your opinion on by attaching any semblance of usefulness to the league in the state that it is and has always been? I never siad the Nigerian league was great...summarization of everything I said was ...the English league is what it is today because of the support the citizens gave...like I was watching journalist hangout the other day ..and one of the journalist said as quote..I can never forget how the Nigerian league was in the 70s to 90s when stadiums where filled up and to get tickets to watch a match, youll have to purchase it 2 days before the match...even, at that time the local league was worse that it its today, the pitch, infact the entire stadium was nothing to write home about but the people stil came enmased to watch thier team play, beacause their was no cable to watch man united and chealse, the joy of watching thier city or state play against the other was what gave them more passion for tge sport and it actually brought the entire country together... So you see its not about the facilities or the infrastructure even though they are extremely important, but its about the passion for our own...we don't like our own that is the problem...thinking out loud here its more worse now that every household has cable...go to Ghana its actually difficult to see their citizens with dstv or any international cable apart from their local TV companies...and they are all supporting their local teams...and don't forget that Nigeria has more better stadiums than ghana, zambia and most parts of Africa but they supports their local team...even you would prefer buying Toyota instead of an innoson...so you see where our problems are coming from...forget about the rot in the system we will get there |

My photographer's studio was burnt to ashes 2 weeks prior to my wedding. I had paid the deposit so he showed up with a small borrowed camera.
The reception tent i paid for was not there, it was a shouting match a 2 days later. Thank God I didn't pay upfront. I just accessed what they did for canopies, chairs and decor then balanced up.
I even bought a suit for one of my groomsmen, he never showed up. The supplier was generous to refund me.
5 cows were killed in 3days at my wedding, yet there were complaints of shortage of meat.
The only compensation was that my mum never misses a wedding, so people retaliated. She smiled to the bank.
Mod: Oh! I forgot to mention that the whole set of boxes and the expensive wrappers that her family made me buy was stolen 3 months after the wedding. 3 Judge, 3 Super wax, 3 holladais, 3 English wax, 3 lace, 3nos of every wrapper when they first asked for 6 each. Including wedding ring, the English and Dubai gold sets, hand bag and shoes. Everything was stolen by armed rubbers. Abi na you send them go collect your property back... |

light099: Another very good response i must say, seems you perfectly understand what i'm talking about, except that you're still missing the hidden truth. You made two valid points. First 'everything we do in this life we directly or indirectly enrich others'. Second, 'everyone one must have passion for something', very true. For someone like me, it's not even, just passion for something, i have passion for a lot of things. I'm a fan of many things, but i can't regard myself as a perpetual cash-cow which enriches others. There's a clear boundary between a 'fan' and a 'fawner'. Arsenal lost, the lazy players who lost already went clubbing the following day, and alert don enter account steady, while so called poor fans are depressed for weeks. They are no longer die hard fans, rather, they're die-hard mumu. Infact some people can miss rare job opportunity just to watch their team, all in the name of mumu die-hard fan. Players are on the field performing their jobs to get paid, mumu fan sacrifices his own job in the name of mumu passion. Ronaldo is in the gym in order to stay fit to get more pay and fame, some poor guys are on social media arguing all day about same Ronaldo. That's no longer being fan, that's being a die-hard mumu. Ronaldo himself doesn't use all his time to argue about himself, he uses his time to build his career. So, does it mean Ronaldo has lesser passion for himself, than those who call themselves fans? No! The word fan and passion are among the most abused and misunderstood words. Especially a lifelong profitless passion is synonymous to folly. I'm a fan but Ronaldo is making something out of his life, i have to make something out of my own life too. Only a fawner wastes all his time and life on other people in the name of passion or die-hard fan. That is the epitome of folly. If Ronaldo spends his leisure time supporting Rihanna, that's perfect. He's not losing anything. While he's building someone else's career, many other people are building his own career. It's a balance equation. We can't convert all our 24hrs into profit, one way or the other, our time should enrich others too, except that the equation must be balance, so that the profits exceeds the loses as multiple times as possible. All work and no play is a disaster, we use entertainment for relaxation and fun, but when wasting your whole life on other people becomes a full-time job, that is where the problem is. You see a lot of Nigerian youths, all they do each day is wake up and roam all social media, tweeting and trending every dumb things. They sleep late at night and wake up to repeat the same thing everyday, you now ask yourself when these people have time to think or build their own lives. Like i said in my first reply, the sad news is that nothing will change, that is how this life was programmed. That is the only way life can be balanced. If everyone has the mind of a leader, there won't be the followers. Many are made to be followers, only few are made to be leaders. That is why majority of people feel at home with being subordinates. Majority feel at home with wasting their lives on few others. That's the way they've been programmed by nature. Now you've said the one thing you've been missing( not all fans are wayward)...many die hard fans have good jobs they do, many have businesses they run...I've seen many rich men argue about sports, pilitics and so many other stuffs that doesn't make then useless actually its fun making argument about whose best that's what makes men to be men...taking life too serious is bad...try to catch some fun..I bet you've never played football before if you have, you wouldn't see this as an issue....you must have argued about something before even if it's not football perhaps politics...now does that make you a fool?. |

light099: Good reply son, but unlike all others who replied, I noticed all your comments portrayed someone who was emotionally wounded and offended. Likely you're hot tempered or have very touchy emotions. If someone doesn't have same opinion as yours, there's no reason to get mad or feel offended, being different is what makes each person unique and life fun. It's a sign of emotional immaturity, instability, weakness or insecurity when you easily get mad at someone having a different opinion from yours or any other minor issue.
Now back to the point you made in your comment. I said your reply is a good response because what I wanted to say is indirectly embedded in your reply. Being a football fan doesn't mean a person is jobless, being a fan to remain jobless is the issue. Most jobless people stay poor by using their precious time and lives being fans, while rich people are fans to get more rich. Subordinates waste their lives promoting and adding benefit to the lives of the superior. Like you rightly said in your reply "no billionaire would invest in something without having passion for that thing", that is, when a billionaire is a passionate fan, he looks for a way to convert his passion into investment and money. That is it. Superior people always utilize their endeavours and time to make more money, they don't throw away their precious time cheaply in the name of profitless passion, only subordinates waste all their time and lives to make others rich, all in the name of passion. Even if Dangote wastes his time watching football, at least, he has enough money already, he's not losing, while he's making money for some people, some other people are making money for him too. But the reserve is the case for majority, they don't have, they continue not to have and they use all their time in making others richer. Lolzz I can never be mad about your opinions and your choice..but mind you things dont always go as planed for most people in the sense that everybody can not be rich at tgesame time, so stop thinking that fans don't have plans for them selves...I bet you don't know that football is the only sport that brings the world together..I challenge you to tell me any sport that can unit the world like soccer..and you also have to acknowledge the fact that not all rich people invest in their passions...moreover you still have the feeling that people waste their time supporting people, naaaa ..I still think you are getting it very wrong every human must have a passion for something..I guess you love music and you are indirectly making those artists rich if not richer...see intact everything we do in this life we indirectly or directly enrich others think about it...you must have a passion and that your passion is making other people rich that's it. |
