Ezenwammadu:It doesn't matter what he was standing on, or your conspiracy theories, where was the table? |
TheOnlyWiseMan:If he is not, then, name your political front benchers. |
TheOnlyWiseMan:No matter what he does, you would still be in an electric shock mood. So nothing is new. Lol |
Ojiofor:Even if he was standing in front of their guest, you will still be wailing. |
PhockPhockMan:That should be your question. Where was the table in your picture reference? Have you heard of a platform? |
Where did you see a table? |
atbu1983:I asked again who is this tribe called South South? Why do you call any tribe minority? How can one be minority in his own land? Who are the minorities among the nations that make up the United Kingdom or even the nearby Cameroon? Often people forget that these words "south south" was a made up word by corrupt politicians just recently, that doesn't even exist in geographic terms. Are you referring to Urhobo, Efik, Annang, Bini, Igbo, Ijaw etc ? Assuming that you belong to one of these ethnic nationalities, what make believe that you can speak for them, let alone the others? South South is just term, not an ethnic group. Just as we use to have Gongola State, where is it now? |
OldJohn:No one asked GEJ to start probing Balewa's government but to probe the one happening even at his feet, that's is the difference. GEJ tolerated corruption, defended corruption, courted corruption, promoted corruption. Even allowed his wife who has not been to her job for many years to be promoted to a permanent Secretary position as if civil service promotion is an honorary degree. That is the height of corruption. Hopefully, Buhari has started a trend, let a knew government look into what the previous did. Just as Wike is doing now in Rivers state and I pray that the coming minister of education probe Wike too. Call it vendetta, who cares. An innocent mind fears no Vendetta. If you cannot see the difference, then you are as clueless as GEJ himself. |
They want Buhari to probe IBB that Jonathan called his father? If they think that IBB is worth probing, why didn't they do it themselves? It's difficult to trace or find money stolen in 2015 let alone something that happened 8- 30 years ago. Buhari knew that it is a waste of time trying to go far back knowing the debt in which stolen money is hidden. Hence Obasanjo concentration on Abacha because it was his most recent. Yar Adua/GEJ should have probe OBJ's government because all the evidence would have been fresh and traceable. It's like asking a graduate to resit his GCE exam papers after 30 years, thinking that he will pass it easily despite his current academic status. |
This is a quote from what President Buhari said: "First, we need to make our courts functional and effective again. This means that we must have lawyers who take the ethics of the profession very seriously; lawyers who will not frustrate the course of justice, even though they defend their clients with all legitimate means and resources." He recognized that every individual deserve the right to a legal defence but it's illegal and unprofessional for a legal person to help a client to conceal evidence, avade justice and cheat justice. In the UK , no lawyer will continue to represent a client if he finds out that that client's defence is based on lies and that client better not tell the lawyer. Once the lawyer realized the true situation against his original plea, he will encourage the client to plead guilty for a reduce sentences or for a plead bargain, hence he will tell the client that he cannot represent him further at the risk of his practicing license. That is the reason Ibori's lawyer was later charged and jailed for conspiracy to commit money laundry along with Ibori and later struck off from practicing law. Not every lawyer is an advocate. So Buhari is not only referring to those that represented corrupt clients in court but those solicitors that coached clients on what to do or say to the police and in court, which is illegal in legal practice in every democratic legal system. Those that help clients to falsify documents they presented before the court, those that deliberately withheld evidence from the defence knowing that it is an illegal practice in law. Those that connive with corrupt Judges to delay cases year after year with no end in sight with postponementd or issuing injunctions that handcuff the law and prevents justice. Only in Nigeria in a true democratic legal system that courts and Judges issue injunction that prevents one from being arrested or being questioned by the law enforcement agencies. How are they supposed to do their job properly? There are so many unethical practices within the Nigeria legal system by solicitors, advocates and judges, all in the name of defence. The job of these people is not to help a client to avert justice but to achieve justice. Achieving justice doesn't mean helping a client to cheat the law and the system. That's what Buhari is saying but idiots who are still in the election mode cannot see what the president was saying. Do you think that his audience has less legal mind than those of you who knew very little about the justice system? Or his speech writers knew nothing about the subject,? Nowhere was he telling them not to defend an individual who is perceived innocent until proven guilty but rather he was advocating that they should not to help them unethically or illegally in order to avade justice even when their clients has confessed their guilt to them. Nowhere in the world is a lawyer's job includes helping a client to commit perjury, conceal evidence and other unethical practices that seems normal in Nigeria legal system to the ordinary lay person, judging by most silly comments here. Based on some of the comments here, it shows how uninformed and ignorant most people are with regards to a lawyer's legal responsibilities towards a client. And there are lines never to be crossed in the course of defence by a legal professional. If a client has told his representation that he is guilty of an offence he had already pleaded not guilty, the legal ethical law practice mandatory required the representative to report such a confession to the other side and advice their client henceforth. So stop wailing and grow some brain. |
Iykopee:All your above points has no bearing on rigging election. Because a robber took over a bank and was supposed to be running it better than the legitimate manager doesn't make him legitimate occupier. |
atbu1983:What is Niger Delta struggle? Are there no Igbos in Niger Delta and what is Asaba for instance to you? |
atbu1983:I thought people like you called the northerners born to rule? So its the turn of Ndigbo to be called born to rule without even ever ruling? Interesting. |
Who are the south southerners, Bini, Ogoni, Itshekiri, Urhobo, Igbo, Efik, Annang, Ijaw etc? Be more specific when you use the term "We". Who is we? |
Toktee:And who is currently stealing the resources now and why the current stealer is a tolerable and acceptable one? |
Can the writer please remind me of any tribe called South South or even any real geographical expression as south south? |
Franzeez:You surely must be a feeding bottle lawyer. So whose character was assassinated, yours, Nigeria or who? You don't need to be 4th class legal mind to know that your so called legal crusade has no legal footnote. |
I always find those whining about SR hilarious. Chinua Achebe said: "If you don't like my story, write yours". If you think that SR are not good journalism, you are free to start your own website and practice your own idea of a right journalism. |
I had never take anyone with double name title (Barr Dr, Chief Mrs, Prof Chief etc) serious anyway. |
The only point if back up with evidence, that has semblance of corruption in number three. How does breach of whatever trust amounts to corrupt? A breach of whose trust? |
Bring Back Our Girls was born out of the former government denial of the existence of any kidnapping in the beginning. Using second hand opinion to insinuate that nobody was kidnapped. Asking for their photos to be published, asking for their DNA etc. Often, Sent the police even to go out and harrass the group members. The current government has no such issues and has actually hosted the group. So its no brainer that the group is now less vocal now because they are in tandem with government. |
We will believe it when it translated into real jobs, manufacturing, not the usual vultures investments that takes out more than they brought in, without even a single structure to show for their presence. |
denko:It depends of what you understands the truth to be, because as humans, we do often tend to create our own illusion or our version of the truth and believed in it. I can tell you, it's not fun being a wailer and worse if you happen to be wailing unnecessarily for nothing. |
Duru1:Do you understand the phrase " let's agree to disagree?" Of course, your father could. Don't create a conflict, where there is non at all. |
betty202020:Am neither. Am not from Eziachi, but rather my best friend at Bishop Shanahan college in those days was. Their home then was opposite to the current mobile police barracks in Eziachi. It use to be Biafra military base during the war. I don't know what kindred of Eziachi that part is. Regards. |
barcanista:His men, who are his men? It funny during the election, the likes of you claimed that he was being sponsored by Boko Haram, the moslem brotherhood or the Arab league. What up now? |
front247:What are his campaign promises after 3 months,? Ask him after 4 years and ask his party after 16 years. Then, that will be fair. |
owobokiri:No wonder that they call you guys: Wailers! Buhari currently governing without rogue political ministers has shown what a waste of money it has been appointing them into positions, all along. Buhari is nobody's fool. He knows that to get all the information he needed over what happened in the last 16 years, he had to keep out the politicians and sort information from civil servants ( permanent secretaries). Compare Buhari's approach to Wike's approach, who borrowed billions within 48 hrs into office without first even sitting down to audit the financial state of his State and appointing legion of people first before even knowing what are to do. I don't blame some of you really, because you are use to the usual fire brigade approach to governance which has got Nigeria nowhere , hence a more cautious approach seems irritant. You should wait to complain at least after 16 years, not after 3 months. |
Abugab:When you fly, do you ask about the religion of the pilot and the stewards? When you are in the hospital operating theatre, do you normally ask the surgeon, nurses or the anaesthesia their religion? So why is it a problem if a competent moslem is appointed into a position? And you are supposed to educated and civilized. Thank God am not a Nigerian. |
freeslash:Who sponsored him? |
Codims82:Your advice for him, is to make his money and get out? What a good adviser that you are. Governance is all about money for many of you. |
Every thief's predictable response will always be that he is not the only one at it. Instead of banging on who should be prosecuted, a clean man will be saying that I can only speak for my self that I got nothing to hide instead of pointing fingers. Who are Buhari sponsors, does that includes the likes of the old 70 year old woman that gave a million Naira for his campaign? If Fayose had useful information about any corrupt sponsors of Buhari, does he know that it's against the law to withhold such an information from the law enforcement agencies? And the funny part is that he has never spoke by himself, always through a third person, ie spokesman. The legal implications being that he will not be liable for any libellous ranting. Its either put up or shut up. Probably he believed in the saying that attack is the best form of defence. By ranting all the time in the media, he will be deflecting attention from his own stink or when he is questioned, he will claimed victimization for being aspoken. The more he self appoint himself into Olisa Metu's job territory, the more I feel that he is running away from his own problems. |
