presido1:That sound like consolation talk to me. You know that someone had fall short in law, you are blaming quota system? If there is any meat on this issue, PDP members would had been in courts now running riot and trying to do something. Remember what they did during the APC registration by trying to register and hijack the name? My happiness is that I can speak my mind as I am neither APC or PDP but many of you are in such political metal prison, hampering you from seeing straight. Only a partisan person don't believe that this certificate nonsense is partisan, even when you have freedom of information law to back you, if you really want to see Buhari's certificate. Everybody who is sane knew that with the likes of Ahmadu Ali, Kayode, Abati, Omokri and Okupe surrounding Jonathan campaign that it not going to be anything but dirty and there is more to come, I can assure you. They've tried his age, he is a dictator, a Jihadist, a fundamentalist, a Boko Haram Sponsor, Islamitizing Nigeria, Sharia to replace the constitution, He kept Ekwueme in prison and Shagari at Hilton hotel Suite, 58 suitcases, Idiagbo was the guy that did the good part, Buhari did the bad part, Lagos motorail, etc and non seem to stick and they changed gear he didn't have school certificate. We are not even talking about a university degree but a secondary school certificate. I honestly still believe that Jonathan can beat Buhari in a very close contest but what I totally oppose is the tactic based on elementary lies, propaganda and character assassination based on concocted fiction, which can easily backfire. Because northerners are no fools. Talking about Buhari certificate is another way of calling all of them illiterate, if an army general doesn't have a school cert, what about ordinary person? |
PointB:I have seen and tasted Nigerian politics to the extent that I can write a book on it. What is happening about this certificate nonsense has happened before in a slightly different format. In 1979, probably a month before the election. The UPN engineered a conspiracy like this that Azikiwe SHOULD PRODUCE HIS WHOLE INCOME TAX CERTIFICATE, that he did not pay his taxes, he should be disqualified because Zik submitted an affidavit that he cannot find the original copies of his tax papers and referred FEDECO to the inland revenue, of which they accepted. They thought Azikiwe was a force for this election, and then ignoring the main snake, being the NPN. Suddenly, everyone was talking about Azikiwe's tax rather than the election. This was the period when the Western axis dominated the print media. They kept this propaganda going for weeks on end and Zik unlike today has no national medium to reply. Then someone went to court trying to stop him contesting and just few days to the election the Supreme Court dismissed the case. However, in reality Azikiwe and his party had wasted valuable campaign time talking and defending this tax issue. The second scenario was in 1983. GNPP stronghold of Gongola and Borno state was a problem for NPN and few months before the election, they hatched a plot to get rid of the GNPP strong man in Borno, Alhaji Aliyu Abubakar Shugaba. One early morning he was woken up along with his family by people breaking down their door. It was Nigerian immigration services. They were asking the 70 years old Shugaba to produce his birth certificate. That he isn't a Nigerian, he was from Chad. This was a man that had served as a permanent secretary in the federal ministries for years before then. He thought it was a joke, but instantly they bundled him and his family into a waiting truck, drove them to the Nigerian border with Chad and dump them in the middle of nowhere in Chad and left and told no one. Unlike today with mobile phones communication, for weeks, the leadership of his party and friends was looking for him and his missing family and his whole family were stranded in a foreign land. Police were alerted and they did nothing. NPN government kept mute as well. It wasn't until a custom officer among those that deported them secretly told one of the newspapers in the north about what happened. When the news finally broke, it was like a hurricane. Many people could not believe it, what politicians can do for power. Shagari's government that kept mute before now responded that he won't be led back into his own country, that the deportation was in order. The case got to the Supreme Court after many months and he won. They was allowed to return home and huge compensation paid to him and his family. GNPP still went ahead to win Gongola and Borno state respectively mainly because of people's outrage of what the government can to do it's own citizen because of politics. So, when Nigerian politicians are desperate, they can engineer anything. One day, God willing, we should hear the truth behind this sudden Buhari has no certificate saga. Mark my word. |
presido1:If the certificate was my problem, I know 1001 legal things to do to get it. |
Curious Person: Why didn't anyone notice in 2003? Nigerian Like You: It wasn't important Curious Person: What about 2007? Nigerian Like You: His opponent was a fellow Fulani, we don't care including the PDP's card carrying Maurice Iwu Curious Person: Ok, what about 2011? Nigerian Like You: We didn't care either because we planned for a 99% turnout and he got no chance without an ACN alliance. Intelligent Person:So, why now? Nigerian Like You: The contest is much closer this time, who want to talk about manifesto when you can talk about certificate. Curious Person: Why don't you go to court now? Nigerian Like You: Court is better after the elections, especially if he wins. Curious Person: That doesn't make sense, Isn't prevention better than cure? Nigerian Like You: No it isn't, in our own perculiar system cure is better than prevention. Curious Person: If you really want to know, why not use the F.I.B powers to get the certificate? Nigerian Like You: Who care about that legal academic work? Curious Person: So what happens now then? Nigerian Like You: We will keep certificate story it going as long as we could until we find another topic close to the election and our people will forget the manifesto nonsense. Curious Person: Are sure you don't want to talk about the last 16 years and the future? Nigerian Like You: No, there are more pressing things to talk about. Curious Person: Like what apart from the certificate? Nigerian Like You: Mbaka's misspoken sermon on the mount for a start. Curious Perso: Really? Nigerian Like You: Yeah mon! Curious Person: Ok!! Good luck with that? Nigerian Like You: There you go bro, Thank you. |
kayalla:Unfortunately, there are no option of an independent candidature. So you are voting for the parties, whether you like it or not. Tell me if Jonathan can win a local government election on his own without a party structure behind him? And that included the 99% of them politicians |
crazysaint:For some convenient reason, most didn't notice that he was a priest last week. ![]() You have to admire the chequered honesty of Nigerians. |
customized13:You are absolutely right on the issue of partisan. But it makes me laugh how most of you are just acting now as if this guy just pop up last night from nowhere and he hasn't been partisan all the time. Suddenly he is partisan now. Where was all these bishops and opinions during his previous partisan and political laden fights with Nnamani, Ohakim and most recently his open fraternization with Mrs Jonathan? Nigerian often see something wrong over anything, only when it affect them, when it no longer support their own opinions, when it castigated their own stance. That is the only time they will notice a bad deed. Mbaka is hardly an overnight controversial person. It was the herd of the so called Christians that addresses him and the like of him as "man of God" and the rest of other unmerited titles that created a monster they can no longer able tame that made him. It better to put the energy, keeping the gene in the bottle, not after the gene is out of the bottle. |
justdivine:Yeah!! Jesus Christ was equally a fiction. |
Montaque:Because most of you because of politics has lost your minds, reasoning as if you don't have a culture or were you come from. Everyone comes from somewhere. As an Igbo man I had to speak up that old age is not a curse in Igboland or any village that brought you into this world. Rather the most respected person and in charge of things in your family, my family, your village, my village or towns are our respected eldest persons. We don't throw an obu-ofor away because he is old. This has nothing to do with Buhari or Jonathan. Choose the one among them that can make good of your resources for you and your children irrespective of their age, height, tribe or religion. And if you don't get that analogy, then you will never get it, because wisdom is not for everyone. |
rozayx5:For your re-education, It takes a family to make a village and it take a village or villages to make a country. Sensible people climbs a tree from the bottom to the top and not from the top to the bottom. Or headlong fall awaits you. |
I was really expecting an issue based campaign as promised by PDP. But what did we get instead, street market gossips, based on lies and typical Nigeria political propaganda. The worse is that the so called literate jump up with each silly story, wasting their time with pointless issues. Instead of asking PDP what they had done with trillions they had realized with your oil for the past 16 years, whether it matched their achievement or asking the opposition why they should be believed to be better than PDP? Rather they resort to planting or swallowing baseless and mindless stories. Before you start getting an e.rection with this useless thread too , read this link: http://www.elombah.com/index.php/news-brief/14779-buhari-to-deliver-a-lecture-at-british-parliament-hall-london |
datone:What is your definition of a nobody? Someone not holding political office? Then you are a nobody as we speak. And what are differences between Ogogoro and Hennessey? One is locally produced from fermented Palmwine and the other is imported from abroad made from a factory of which you have no idea it's true raw materials. Grow up. |
jmaine:And you didn't find him funny until now. Because he was singing what you preferred to hear previously. Now, Tori Don wowo as the accused don become the complainant. ![]() |
So he was in the PDP before now? Sometimes it's hard to imagine what false religion (babylon the great- the great harlot) has done to Nigeria. A Harlot the bible called them because of their penchant to jumping into bed with political rulers and merchants, telling each what they wanted to hear. And the gate leading to them is so wide and millions will troop through it and will have their ears tickled. |
myhoodlink:And after this your findings, you still refer him as man of God. It's all those like you that created Mbaka. It's not his fault. He is man if God for telling you what you and your leadership wanted to hear until now, for whatever reason. The bible predicted that people will troop where they will have their ears tickled by false prophets. The same prophets that will state wonderful works they thought they performed with God's power and name. But God's son will tell them to get out of his face, that they are workers of iniquity. Never had religious been so much involved in politics like it was today, thanks to Jonathan and celebrity self acclaimed men of some god. Whatever you sow, that what you will reap. A Christian talking about non flying pigeon? Isn't that superstitions and occult dabbling? All in the name of Nigeria god. |
SwagForce1:Please can you stop moaning. This is what happens when a soccer mad husband force his wife into going to a football match. She will celebrate a goal scored against his team because it's not an environment she is used to. When you kept saying that Buhari will force you to become a moslem, will replace the constitution with sharia or he is a jihadist etc. He has no choice than to go to church. Would you know what to do if you are to go to a mosque? If your god dey vex, it's your fault pal because you forced him into it. |
PenSniper:And what's your own opium, no money? |
Wahala90:How does a party gives you a candidate position just like an akara bean cake? How can they make you a candidate over something you campaigned against, rubbished and branded those who dare to participate as traitors? You should join a party, show interest, become a delegate, reached out to other interest groups. You don't sit your backside at home hoping that the manna from heaven will fall into your lap, then will be convinced. I wished, life was that simple. |
What is so important about seizing an army barracks of all places, when got heavy stuff like Buhari certificate to worry about. |
You won't see me marrying a 17 old for a wife based on personal choice and my daughter won't be marrying too at that age based on the same reason. But it's not to say that it's wrong or illegal. My mum married my father at the age of 16 and he was four years older. In Scotland, if you are age between 16-18 you do not have to have parental consent to get married. In England and Wales, if you are below the age of 18 ,you can get married but, with parental consent. |
FastShipping:Do you think that Nigeria politicians care about work or productivity? Hence they declare public holidays like they are playing roulette in a casino. |
Goddex:I thought they are talking about politics and you busy comparing which stadium has a greener grass? ![]() |
kendrick9:Not the way we were brought up in Igboland pal, to abandon things because it's old. The head and main authority in every family in Igboland is the eldest man in the family. He broke the kola, pour the libations, negotiates our dowrie, settle land disputes and set examples etc Igbos spirit of knowledge is surrounded by the oldest concept around us- the ILU or INU Igbo (adage/proverbs). No one dare ignore them because they are old or you will pay the price later in life for ignoring the old inu/ilu Igbo. There is nothing wrong with old school. Without old school there won't be new school. When you listen to Osadebe, do you often want to listen to new school? Both old and new school can accommodate each other and compliment each other for a society to make progress. Ignore one to your perils. |
It funny he said almost the same thing about Jonathan. For them to have him near his re-election campaign shows how desperate politics in Nigeria begets of any atom of moral or principles. He should be tested for some abuse of substance, because this guy is not normal. |
rozayx5:And there is a place for PDP in Katsina or Sokoto? Jonathan don't need secret enemies like you. |
adook1:What happened in 2011 with Udoedeghe? |
Validated:INEC must be totally incompetent to had missed the same mistake on three occasions even with a character like Maurice Iwu in charge. |
Ngwakwe:If you go back my response today was the same then. I said then that the clamour for her qualifications when they were the one that cleared her as a minister was more to do with politics than her qualifications. When you are consistent and non partisan, you don't have to worry about tomorrow. The same way an telling you now that the sudden clamour for Buhari certificate has more to do with PDP propaganda than anything because they had never found themselves before in the past, with this sort of opposition going into any election and they decided to implode every possible dirty tactics. And there are more to come. If there are strong basis for this, I would expect PDP in various courts now seeking all sorts of injunction. |
This is what my father will call: Be mindful of how much you talk today because there are still tomorrow to come. For this guy to be around Jonathan and even involved in his re-election campaign says every thing about him as a leader. |
Schematics:What response did Obama get from his detractors after cowardly publishing his Birth certificate? Did they apologize to him or did they started on another senseless campaign like, he wasn't a real graduate, he should publish his law degree, he should prove that he is not a closet Moslem? It's a waste of time trying to impress your enemies because, no matter what you do, they will always find another 1001 reason to dislike you. |
Collynzo9:Judging by the number of people around him, you can see why Nigeria Christian faith is a mess, full of professional con men and gullible sheep without a true shepherd. It seems to me that being good person now is based on whether the person is saying what we agreed with. That's is the issue Jonathan and his supporters has now because they don't expect him to be saying what he said |
Collynzo9:If can digest my sentiment, you would have realized why I said that the accused has become the complainant earlier in one of my posts. |
