dayokanu: Maybe if we all join hands to condemn all extra judicial killings by the Police whether in the North South East or west it would be better.

When you hail police for killing others know your time would be coming soon

RIP Members of the Movement for the Actualisation of the Sovereign State of Bokoharam
If anyone whether Boko Haram or an armed robber is arrested and killed while in police custody awaiting trial or was killed with two hands up and trying to surrender to the law enforcement, that is what is called extra judicial killing.
Being killed while in a shootout with the law is not extra judicial killing. Try and separate the two.

But i tot NIGERIA was Zik of Africa's idea. Why u con dey say na yoruba pet project. Na question i ask o, nor swear for my mama o! Lol
The answer to your question is there in your own words.
What did you call him? Isn't Zik of Africa and not Zik of Igboland or Biafra. Zik is a Nigerian leader, hence the billions Nigeria are planning to spend for his resting place.
When the leader of Igbo/Biafra died recently, did you see how Biafra people took care of his own grave without waiting for Nigeria?
When the leader of Oduduwa died, didn't you see also how his people took care of his in Ikenne? Thats the difference.
By the way, the Nigeria of Zik's idea ended in 1967. The present One Nigeria is the creation and brain child of civil war partners of North and Yoruba. That is a fact.

cheddarking: Ahhh

Are they members of MASSOB?

Yes

Does MASSOB want to split Nigeria?

Yes

Is that a Treasonable Offence

Yes

Is Treason punishable by death?

Yes

RIP guys - Rot In Pieces

I'm Out cool
This is what free education from free stolen oil money from another man's land does to the recipients. So in your King Solomon wisdom and knowledge trying to split a country is treason, why is it not treason as well in the United Kingdom that created Nigeria? The last I checked, SNP wanted to split the United Kingdom and they are the power holders in the Scottish parliament. Last month, your super eagles played an assembled national team a section of Spain that wants to split. Isn't that ironic that Nigerian national team where very happy to play treason fellons in Spain but killing their own at home?

How much of those support and sympathy has they succeeded in getting from you by killing themselves?
Yes killing themselves while in police custody and for some reason police has no idea it happened and they did not rush off to parade before television cameras if those in their custody are still alive, to prove their accusers wrong or Nigerian police no longer parade even suspects anymore?
Some of you are just a case work.

It's a lesson..nobody should be happy when the NPF goes on a killing spree...be it on Igbo Hausa or Yoruba.

I remembered how Ibos were seriously gloating when JTF was engaging in extra judicial murder in Maiduguri some few months back.

Under no pretense should we condone Extra Judicial killings....no matter the urge to behave so...it's barbaric.
So this your own opportunity to gloat back? What then is the difference between you and those Igbos you found their behaviour abhorring?

hotwax: To all Yorubas on nairaland. Lets stop all this taunting. This is human life we are talking about.
I am a Yoruba proud Yoruba Lagos guy, but I felt like crying when I saw those dead bodies last month.

Lets stop all this tribal mockery and face this evil deed.

This is what happened to Bosnia and this perpetrated by Hausa/Boko-harams in force.

They kill igbo people in the North, and still have the guts to come and kill them in their home.
No Yorubas are not taunting you, they are are only protecting their pet child and co-creation-One Nigeria. Anything irrespective of how small or even irrelevant that makes them think that one Nigeria is at a threat, they will react. T

Those you think that is taunting you are they not the same people that were in support Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola when he launched his flag and anthem and training foot soldiers in Cuba?
But if MASSOB is to do it, its renamed treason. grin

stuhporh: stuhporh: How can some people be so gullible to believe everything, they hear, and instantly too.
Yes, the NPF might have killed them, but you and i dont know, it might be mere suspicious rants towards them. On the other hand, they (NPF might be guilty as accussed by the massob.
These will bring me to speculate that Massob might be responsible for the killing and twist the story aswell. If the bodies are confirmed to be massob memebers, they might be killed due to their questionable loyalty to massob group by massob members. That is also Possible.

Am suprised most of you here already Jumped into conclusion that NPF is responsible. THINK OUTSIDE THE BOX GUYS!!!!

MASSOB IS AS MUCH A SUSPECT AS NPF
Nigerians are just wonderful breed. So MASSOB went into a Nigeria police station kill their own members, so that they can report it for your sympathy? And while they crawl invisibly like angel to do this act, police has no idea, that their suspect had been killed until their dead bodies were found floating on a river and after saying this, you even ended up telling others to THINK OUTSIDE OF THEIR BOX? Shouldn't you be giving yourself that advise in the first place?

Rossikk: You, an Igbo man is asking ''how old are these Nri priests''? Are you not ashamed? Even in this day and age of Google where you can in 10 MINUTES, learn the fundamentals of Nri history? I mean, why should anyone take you seriously? If you have no interest in learning the various angles to your own history, as it is clear you don't, why come on this thread in the first place?
Why should you take me serious?
So you believe everything, just because it came out of a google search?
Who put it there in the google search to be found? the same historians who always will super fed us to believe that we are not original and that we must come from somewhere else? I don't need google to know my history as Igbo man.
PoliticsRe: Are Igbo Jews, The Lost Tribe Of Israel? - CNN by Eziachi: 10:27pm On Feb 07, 2013
Rossikk: That is patently anti-intellectual and anti-learning. You really ought to be ashamed.

Oh, and do spare us your clear emotional hangups and baggage regarding this area of intellectual inquiry.

Absolutely.
I don't want to spent time defining what is intellectual based on my own opinion to others.
Intellectual is not about someone telling me that I must be Jewish just because we share similar cultural heritages and being an Igbo only is not enough. You are welcome to it. And you haven't answered my question, as you are the intellectual, why we must always come from some where else?
PoliticsRe: Are Igbo Jews, The Lost Tribe Of Israel? - CNN by Eziachi: 10:22pm On Feb 07, 2013
Rossikk: Don't say what you don't know.

The Nri priests would most certainly have known about Jewish origins and migratory paths from the north in antiquity.
Its not nice dismissing others purely because they don't share your own version sentiment on issues, even if you felt you are the encyclopaedia. How old is this Nri priests-who are older than our oral tradition? Get real.

Why are you anti-intellectual?

The study of history and origins is a valid field of endeavour by all measurements you wish to use.

Is such research leads us to ancient North Africa and the levant ('middle east'), why are you opposed to the study of it?
History according to who? History according to those who feel its not sophisticated enough and romantic enough to be just be an Igbo man on earth and that I must be Jewish for some reason?
Is that what you mean by being anti history and intellectual?

Rossikk: THAT IS IGNORANT.. IF YOU DO NOT KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT HISTORY, RESEARCH, ANTHROPOLOGY, ARCHAEOLGY ETC, SAY SO.

''all mankind came from one source, so there bound to be similarities here and there'' is an ILLITERATE summation borne of IGNORANCE of the subject-matter. Where cultural congruences between two groups are found which surpass the average congruence among groups, then you have established a connection that cannot be dismissed the way you did.
I can't argue with you on that, I am a total virgin as an expert in history, research, anthropology or even archeology and I don't mind being ignorant and being an illiterate is also not a crime either, but one thing I know for sure as an igbo man is that I am now Jewish and you don't have to agree with me. Why can't the Hebrews be Igbo, why must I be them?

Why I would wanted to be called a Jew or an Israeli for gracious sake?
I am comfortable in my very skin and proud as an Igbo man.
Yes there are so many familiar Jewish and Igbo cultures, but that doesn't make me a jewish or desperate to become one. After all mankind came from one source, so there bound to be similarities here and there.

Billyonaire: APC - ACCIDENTAL PUBLIC CRIMINALS

What is it about the book that all opposition public servants are there. I need to have a copy of this book. Tunde Bakare is actually more of a politician than a Pastor, I could not see Oyedepo, Chris Oyhaks and Adeboye there. Fashola is a great guy and Sanusi is a great guy too but I hope they all can contribute to growth of Nigeria instead of just criticizing the people in power without offering alternative solutions.
Criticising the people those in power is part and parcel of a real democracy, minus that what you have is a dictatorship, where everyone is just an oh yes people. Is that what you wanted?
Without opposition there is no such thing called democracy. As for Tunde Bakare, he is only copying the likes of Jesse Jackson. Rev Al Sharpton and the rest. Its nothing new.

KokoBeware: Yea its the 21st century but it doesnt happen overnight... whats the population of Benin republic?? one "i pass my neighbour" myt just be able to power the whole country.....think about only the land pass of Nigeria and lets be a little realistic it cannot physically happen in 2years.....
Power is one aspect that i closely follow and even though am not a great GEJ fan.. i can say the progress so far especially compared with the road map is quite on point..
Keep making excuses for your useless rulers. You guys tend to use your population index when it suits. Your country denied poor masses of the country the opportunity of watching the current AFCON because you claimed you are charged more than countries like Benin you are now using their size as an excuse.
When it was mentioned to you that your population viewing figure is much higher, you don;'t want to hear it, today you are using the same big population to justify you archaic power supply compared to your small and poorest neighbours around you.

When your rulers want to buy for themselves, the latest Jets, BMW, Merc with your money, they always go for the latest one without thinking how long it took nation like U.S to get to the stage where their rulers was able to use such luxuries, but when it comes to making sure that public amenities are in tune with the rest of the world, they will start telling how long it take to get there. I free sorry for some of you.

SKYQUEST: Those interviewed and those tweets cannot be a representative of the populace, the spread of the sample of those interviewed also will not give a resonable position of the power situation in the country. That said, except your area or location have particular unrssolved issue with PHCN, generally, I do believe the power situation in the country has improved, let's be objective here; ignore the hatred you have for GEJ for now. I live in a part of Isolo LGA, on the average, we have about 16 hours of power everyday. There is improvement of power in the area my company is in VI, although most time we still run on generator because the power is not good enough to efficiently power our offices.
This is 21st century, counting the hours of power, no longer conforms with modern age, that belong to the dark ages. Uninterrupted supply of light is one of the least basic right of many people around the world, even in Benin republic. No wonder your leaders take you people for a ride.
PoliticsRe: Amanpour Interviews Nigerians In Lagos About Power Outage by Eziachi: 1:53am On Feb 06, 2013
naptu2: In Lekki I would love to say that the power situation has improved, but I'm holding out. Two weeks ago we had almost 24 hrs electricity for 3 days.

Why am I holding out?

In 2007 we had almost 24 hours electricity for two weeks! The battery of the diesel generator ran down. But after a while normalcy resumed. We had similar spurts and starts during the Obasanjo era.

Two weeks ago we had almost 24 hours electricity for three days. That week power supply improved considerably. Yesterday we had no power all day (they brought it late in the night and took it early this morning).

I will only heave a sigh of relief when the system is completely liberalised! When I know that investment is pouring into the distribution system, so that we don't experience blackouts when power generation increases, because the transformers cannot cope with the increase. When the transmission lines are able to effectively evacuate generated power and deliver them to the distribution centres. And when there's adequate gas delivered to our power plants and we are investing in alternative sources of energy.

I will only praise the person that can deliver consistent improvement in power supply, rather than the one step forward and one step backward we've been experiencing since 1999.
Take the ferry across Cameroon one of your neighbours, you will see how most people there is their 20s had never experience a power cut ever, and here you are killing goat for 24hrs of power you paid for and you are supposed to be the giant of Africa.

CFCfan: @Eziachi: Mitt Romney is a former governor of Massachusetts, not California.
Thanks for pointing that out, my error. Will be corrected. Thanks again.
PoliticsRe: Okupe Calls Opposition Parties Noisemakers by Eziachi:
It seems to me that people like Okupe, Abati and as it seems many Nigerians including the so called ipod generation is yet to grasp the true nature of democratic environment. Hence they spent their energy hitting their head on the stone every time the so called opposition groups lambast the activities of the government. Opposition is there to be noise makers, that is why they are called the opposition. If you don't like the opposition noise, go back to military dictatorship and silence them.
The determining factor of a democracy is not the nature of the government but the state of the opposition.

They are there to oppose in public every aspect of govt in power's action even when they agree to it in private. Political parties exist to contest for power and nothing else.
And the only way you get power is to make your opponent looks bad while you positioning yourself as the only alternative. If Miss Nigeria start singing praises on how beautiful Miss Togo looks in a beauty contest, what the hell is she doing in the competition?
Even if its for all to see that Miss Togo was the finest, Miss Nigerian's job is to paint or make her as the ugly duck.

That is how it works in politics too. Mit Romney was one of the greatest opponent of Obama's healthcare despite the fact that years ago he floated a similar idea in Massachusetts a governor. If he agrees with Obama, why on earth will he be contesting him?

Jonathan and his army of sidekicks should by now know that the job of the opposition is to oppose, to shout, to jump and all sort in order to convince the voters that he is not the solution and they are. Its a contest people! And stop getting emotional about it.

They are not your enemy but your opponent and stop treating them as so, just because they wanted to sit where you are now sitting. That is what all of you are in politics for, to wrestle power FROM EACH OTHER.
My take is this: Nigeria are running a system they think is a democracy but their mindset are still dep rooted in warped military dictatorship, subconsciously.
