That's why Nigeria is still backwards because simple arithmetic most of her citizens do not engage in, with all due respect.

Nigeria produces at the very best, 2.5 million barrels a day - in actuality it's often like 1.98 barrels daily.

Multiply 2.5 million by 100 dollars (it hasn't even been 70 dollars in 7 years), that gives you 250 million dollars daily.

That means a country of 180 million people share 250 million dollars daily.

That means a little over a dollar a day for each Nigerian assuming this was shared evenly amongst everyone.

Total failure.

Contrast with Canada of 35 million people producing 5.2 million barrels of oil daily.

Let's not go into other enterprises that the population engages in.
