Christianity EtcRe: I'm Beginning To Reason With Jehovah Witness On Their Stand Concerning Trinity by fairheart(m): 8:34pm On Jun 21, 2020
As long as a person's church denomination is the yardstick you are willing to use to assess who they are, overlooking what they belief and their way of life, there is no point telling you the Church I go. I don't belong to ANY church; I am a Christian and that is all anyone ever needs in their walk of faith! If you don't assume that those who are not JWs are not Christian, I'll like to keep this discussion going, and I will gladly tell you whatever you want to know. But na! You have made your conclusion, so it won't matter which Church I go.

For the record, I tell my JWs friends that JWs are not the only worshiper of God, and with all facts, they agree. It is what you belief, and the way you live with what you belief that determines who you are, not the sect you belong. If you like, force all the people in this world to come to the Kingdom Hall, if they fail to do the Will of God, it is useless. You and I know this is the truth, and we must accept it as such.
Rozz:
lets know your church first,i asked earlier
Christianity EtcRe: I'm Beginning To Reason With Jehovah Witness On Their Stand Concerning Trinity by fairheart(m): 8:27pm On Jun 21, 2020
Na! Don't make that mistake, you cannot impress anything in my heart, and I am not trying to know the difference between JWs and other Church members. I have a scholarly life, and I have a research-leaning career. I have grown past the level of trying to know the difference. I can tell you that i have read far too many of JW books than you have ever touched.
The conclusion of this matter and my point is: Being a JW member is not a criteria to worshiping God and living a life that pleases Him. I know you want to say otherwise, and I know you'd say otherwise to someone who isn't knowledgeable, but you cannot do that with me.

JW membership is not a criteria to entering the Kingdom of God. I know you don't like this truth, but it is what it is. I will not use more words to explain that to you.

Maximus69:
I'm only impressing the JW language in the heart of my friend who wants to know the difference between JWs and all other religionists!

No! Worship and being religious are two different thing. And I am sure you know. I go to Church, but not just as you'd assume. What is worship? Define it, and we will take it from there.

JWs have two kinds of enemies!

Those who outrightly hate what is right and they're ever prepared to oppose it, and those who subtly oppose it but will praise it with their tongues! Matthew 15:8
So those who are truly for our Master will join his team NOT JUST PRAISING US WITH THEIR MOUTH!
Most of the people you see criticising and antagonizing us never intended to be like that from the beginning, they changed and joined the enemy forces because we told them the TRUTH "you're not one of us if you're not worshiping with us and living by our standards" that's what made most of them our enemies! undecided undecided undecided
Well, I will tell you what you don't know about human psychological development. There's a stage to every belief we hold. There's a stage that once we reached, NOTHING can take that belief from us, not even sickness or death. All the disciples of Christ reached this stage. Likewise, I have reached a stage where I cannot be told how to have my belief, or who to worship with, or who to excommunicate or hate, or who to validate. I am not an amateur Christian; I am a teacher of truth and admonish-er of God's Will, anywhere and any day. If you know the person behind this keyboard, you'd understand.

Also, I am not praising you, for I don't need your validation or seek to please you. Na! Did you read that I said my Grandmother was a JW? We are happy together despite our different approach of service to God. Some disciples of Christ held different views, and if you are truly a Bible student, you'd have known.

I have evolved beyond hating a fellow human being because of belief, no matter what they belief. God is the ultimate Judge, who knows our heart and its intent. Likewise, JW members are not the only worshiper of Jehovah God. DON"T EVER ASSUME JW MEMBERS ARE THE ONLY TRUE CHRISTIAN. Such view makes you heretic, and judgemental! When you think JW members are the only worshipers of God, you put yourself in the same position with Elijah, who thought he was the only one still serving God. God proved him wrong, because there are several other people who love God and are living to please Him.

I don't need to be a JW member to partake in the Plans of God for humanity. The criteria is laid out in the Bible, not in membership with JW, and that is enough!

I am not any sect's enemy, and LEST you become holier than thou kind of Christian, do not see anyone as unworthy or against you. ONLY GOD KNOWS HIS OWN!

You are distancing yourself from your core belief. I did not become silent. I have said it clearly: I am not a JW member.
Mark 9: 40: Whoever is not against us is for us. That is Christ word, and His words is supreme above what you believe or say.
It is only a person who has inferiority complex that will be bothered by how other people sees him. Brother or neighbor, enemy or friend, it is fine by me.
Maximus69:
You can see that he became silent over that, so when i say he is not one of our brothers it may sound offensive but it's the first language we learn to speak!

Okay. grin It doesn't really matter how you see anybody, even if you see them as stranger.
What matters is their relationship with God.
The views you outlined below doesn't go well with me, but IT DOESN'T MATTER. I am what I am! But I do understand you!

Maximus69:
You see what i said! smiley

That language is simple but you can't grasp it because you're not one of us.

So let me break it down for you our friend.

Neighbour ~ all Adam's descendants be it anywhere you come from, you are our neighbour! Mark 12:31

Brother ~ those with whom we share the same Faith, it could be from anywhere on planet earth, we share the same line of thought so we are prepared to die for one another just as Jesus did for us! John 13:34-35 compare with Matthew 12:46-49

This is a top secret you won't hear from JWs, when we call you brother it's not from the bottom of our heart, you can only become our real brother the day you are baptised as a JW!

So calm down and learn the truth, we really appreciate you for what you're saying but truly speaking you're one of our neighbours NOT OUR BROTHER!

God bless you! smiley

@bolded is one thing we can't explain to you Sir!

Don't do that! The way you're writing here, you are portraying JW as a cult, contrary to what's expected of you as a Witness! You are to speak plain and let all men understand you and your belief without intent to hide other things. Maybe the new generation of JW is changing things and becoming seclusive and reclusive? be open to all men, and let them know what you belief without holding back. If someone who doesn't know much about JW read the pattern of your words and the other guy, they would want to conclude JW is a cult. Don't portray it as such.

I quote JW organization to all people that it is perhaps the best Christian body on earth. Free books, no hammering on tithing, so committed to spreading the Gospel taking it home to home, street to street, as a habit. Emphasis on the coming Kingdom of God, etc. These are not your doctrines; they are truth. But JW is not perfect, as there is no perfect Church on earth!

I have defended JW so much that some people think I am a Witness. I was merely defending what is right and true.

Maximus69:
JWs have a common language we speak amongst ourselves, it's not different from the one we're speaking now but only JWs can understand it.

If you travel to any country in the world today, even if you can't speak the language there, they're are simple phrases that helps identify ourselves anywhere we go even when we're not speaking the same tongue.

So fairheart only noticed the strong faith and efficiency in JWs but he's not one of us! smiley
Rozz, Janosky
You're right, I am not a JW. My grandmother was before she died, and I read a lot of Awake and Watch Tower growing up in my 20s; in fact, I have Witnesses who "like" to come to my place to discuss, I have JW friends as well. I love to use Jehovah in my prayers and pray to Him in the name of Jesus. I don't do this because JW taught me; I do it because Jehovah is God's personal name (as written in the Bible), and it appeals to me that JW emphasis on it in all their teachings. Jesus Himself NEVER told his disciples to pray to him, but to the Father, in his name. I considered and hold unto these as TRUTH!
I like to say I do not believe in denomination and separation of body of Christ, it makes Christianity looks weak in the eyes of people we are to convert and bring into Light. I have been to your Kingdom Hall, and it gave me so much peace especially because of orderliness of program; no noise and disruption, unlike mainstream churches like Pentecostals. I am not a JW, but I witness there is God and His name is Jehovah! In the book of Isaiah, God called us "Ye are my Witness" that I exist. I love this. I have been to several churches for worship and for research purposes. I will not tell you what I find. There is so much misconceptions and lies, and it is painful so many Nigerians take them as truth.

As for the guy I replied to, he put up an "attack question", asking if I actually understand what I wrote. I do understand what I wrote, and it is truth. Jesus never said he is equal in power, authority and position with his Father; he said he's one with Him because he abide in His Words, and did His Will. Sadly, the ignorant Christians twist it as saying, He is equal with God. I once read a theologian in the US who said it was Jehovah Himself who came from Heaven and that men crucified. I wept. The bad news? His book was voted the best book of the year.

Let me apologize for the misunderstanding. And what is the language JW members use that I don't understand? Although no denomination is perfect, I do not believe your denomination is a cult. But I don't belong to any Church; I belong to God! I am your brother in Christ! Peace

If you don't understand it, then you have a problem with comprehension! Your faith--the belief in God's words--did not come from outside the Scripture; it comes from the scripture--the Bible! Your Bible is your defense against any heretical doctrine, and that is why we have chapters and verses to quote to defend what we believe. Heretic Christians, like you, who cling to the doctrine of trinity, cannot defend it with their Bible; they always quote outside source. Isn't the bible the Perfect word of God anymore? Is it no longer adequate to explain the truth? The reason Jehovah Witness teaches the Bible better is that, they quote the Bible, and you are able to read it yourself and see for yourself, especially on the matter of trinity. I doubt you have read an entire Chapter in the Bible let alone the whole New Testament or Old Tastement--which would have exposed you and refine your knowledge.

I know who you're by your comment, and so we are not on the same plane of knowledge of God. Do not attempt to mention me again. I will not reply you! Happy Sunday!

Christianity EtcRe: When You Keep Meeting Men That Only Want Sex by fairheart(m):
Nnaabros:
What you women don't even know is that the men that marries you does so because of your body - To have his own personal sex partner to satisfy his sexual need.

As if you don't also want the man's body. Tomorrow you'll be complaining that they don't satisfy you, he can't get it up, they only last 2 seconds, the dick is too small. E. T. C.
I came here to read comments and better understand how typical Nigerian guy like you think, and I see your thinking is very shallow that I pity your ignorance.
The line I bold above says a lot about your age, the family you came from, your education and exposure. I am sorry, you did not speak for "men who marry, or those looking forward to a happy married life like me;" you speak for yourself from the pit of your vain ignorance.

Let me tell you why responsible and real and matured men marry: They marry because we are created to have a partner, a lover, a companion, and someone to sojourn the purpose of life with. Having a good-hearted woman in your life makes life beautiful, and I can tell you it is one of the most beautiful things in life a man can experience. It enriches the man's life, and enriches the woman's life in return. More so, marriage allows combination of both partner's resources, so that together, they can achieve things each partner may not be able to achieve on his/her own.

Also, marriage allows the partner to procreate and bring up responsible children (although I admit that marriage doesn't guarantee that the kids will be responsible). I can tell from your comment that you are in your mid 20s, and you need serious education and enlightenment, so that you will not miss it in life.

Life can be lonely for the man who will not wander about from one woman to another for sex. A reputable and emotionally stable man needs one partner, not merely for sex, but to live his life well. And I can say the same for a stable woman.

Now, get yourself together, look at the lives of successful people around you, listen to elders, and go and discover the ultimate purpose of your life and for living! This is a lesson for you to take to heart, so don't bother quoting me. smiley

It is not just that, there's nothing like Trinity. The mainstream Christians can't defend it scripturally. So you are right! There is God the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit! They are not equal in power, authority, etc. God the Father is one in one! Can I DM you?

The situation in India with respect to COVID-19 is a lot worse than Nigeria in terms of cases. However, two students from India who were admitted into the same doctoral program with me said they have gotten an earlier date through the expedited appointment option for second week of July.
The told me on the WhatsApp platform we created that the embassies in India are not open yet and the regular date available is October 3rd but when they used the expedited appointment option they got second week of July.
I'm confused. Can we also use this expedient option in Naija? There is no available date in Lagos and the earliest date in Abuja is November 3rd.

Bubu is not ready to allow international travel anytime soon.

@fairheart, Walspring, Just wise, Lagosismyhome please your suggestions will be of great help.
Well, based on what a consular said in one of their press releases, it is stated that the Embassy understand students from Nigeria will need F1 visas. So, I believe they are looking into what can be done so that students can be interviewed and given visas. June don go already, so let's see what will happen in July. Also, given that Canada plan to resume processing study permit from next month, there's hope that the US embassy may follow--hopefully strictly for students.

As for international travel, I want you to know people are travelling outside Nigeria. I was told on a phone yesterday by a student on this thread that her friend who got her Canadian study permit travelled to Canada last Monday. According to her, Airpeace and Ethiopia Airline have an agreement to fly passenger from Nigeria to Togo, and then Ethiopia Airline pick them from there to their destination. So, I can assure you that even if embassy resume, say in July, there'll be flight to the US.
I don't know if they will grant you or other students expedient appointment, but you can try. You can lead the way, and if it works, other students will follow. grin

I can’t dispute most of these facts bt the problem with pretty gals isn’t that they are not brilliant they are only more distracted. Also the grand illusion that beauty is everything is their undoing.

This same distraction sadly leads them to more confusion especially in relationships. Switching men like they are switching car lanes. It’s almost pathetic and a horrendous task for them to decide what exactly they want except for those who remember to apply their brains to good use.

There are pretty and beautiful gals doing quite well and amazing stuffs. I have met and dated a few bt I must say they are rare.

If there's no deficit, then there may be no need to go with a statement of account. I interacted with two students who were awarded full funding without deficit in fall 2019, and they went for their interview without a bank statement. If you have some deficit, better go with a sponsor acct, or your own bank account to show you have source of funds to pay for the deficit.
Sometimes, the consular want to see the statement and then return it immediately.

Good advice smiley
sheke01:
.

Yea you can enroll and start class online without paying tuition. Your tuition will be calculated based on the amount of classes you enroll in and you can go ahead and start class. Though they will give you a deadline to pay tuition.

Most schools won't cancel your enrollment if you don't pay up on the deadline, they'll hit you with a penalty fee instead. They will however prevent you from enrolling for subsequent semesters if you haven't paid up at the beginning of the next semester .

So my advice for y'all, if your school offer you online fall classes, take it but don't pay a dime till you get your visa and get to campus. Don't let your school hustle on your head as paying tuition and doing an online semester won't guarantee you visa

Disclamer: Please ignore my advice above If you have the money to pay while in Naija and don't mind losing it if you don't get visa later on or you are OK with doing the full program online if you don't get visa later on.

*how many sponsors can I av max?
*can anybody be my sponsor?
*in 1 of the forms sent to me they said my estimated fees is $27500...does it mean that particular amount must be in my sponsor account at the moment?
Thanks
At most, 2 sponsors is appropriate for this cause.
Family members with strong ties should be the sponsor. Remember we are talking about millions of Naira here?
And why does it sound like you did not plan about who and how to finance your studies before you start the process?
The amount expected to be in the sponsor (s) accounts "at the moment" and when going to the embassy, should not be less than the amount estimated by the school as total cost of attendance. This means your sponsor (s) must have more than $27, 500 in their bank accounts.

I don't know why most men assume that some of us are still single and miserable, because we turned down their marriage proposal and if we hadn't done that, we would be married and happy today. Smh and lol grin As if they can see into the future or as if marriage guarantees happiness.

Right after uni, a man 10 years older than me wanted us to get married and proposed. I told him I'm not ready for marriage I want to finish youth service, find honest work to do for a living, before I consider marriage.

As a young girl who loved reading fiction novels like The Women's Murder Club, Agatha Christie, Nancy Drew and watching movies like L.A Law, Return to Eden etc. My mind was exposed to a world of possibilities, of what I could do as a single woman.

I loved all these books/movies, because the female characters were always depicted as responsible, hard working, well adjusted adults with jobs and flats of their own, paying their own bills and I wanted that sort of life for myself. So, when he proposed marriage the mental images of a wedding, pregnancy, children weren't aligning with the images in my heart/head.

Do I regret turning down his proposal or subsequent ones? No, I don't. Because I like where my life is at and the freedom that comes with being single. Singleness is a gift and a blessing, when managed appropriately and effectively. There's freedom, time and energy to do things like seek God, develop skills/talents, go back to school if you want to etc

I think a lot of women don't know or understand this, which explains the desperation I see men describing on this thread. But I speak as a woman who doesn't want children, so I can't relate to this over 30, biological clock ticking, I must marry by last year thingy. smiley
