You're welcome. You can read more about the Great Firewall of China and their political ideology. Since they are investing so heavily in Nigeria we should really think seriously before engaging with them.
Verytested: Na to change ip address na. I doubt Chinese own cos they are the Tech capital of the world, they own various brands like Huawei, Tecno, Infinix, Xiaomi etc. So how don't they have Internet?
Tecno and Infinix are based in Hong Kong which is considered a separate country from mainland China. Also China is on the list because the government blocked access to the regular Internet. Most of the 'Internet' is just heavily monitored and policed connections within China itself.
madridguy: Our major problem started when we abandoned our herbs and root and embrace their own way.
Herbs and roots have their place, like eating yam to increase likelihood of birthing twins. But please in the name of whatever diety you worship don't use 'agbo' to treat serious ailments like HIV and Diabetes. Their claims are unverified and untested and might even cause more physical harm like liver damage or interfere with medicines. I hope the people selling 'ABC Herbal mixture' from their Toyota Corolla are listening.
Just fyi Samson did not drink because he was a Nazerene and not because he was 'God's servant'. Nazerene vows required that you don't cut your hair and avoid all grape related items.
grandlexuz: Wow this is commendable. As a Naturopathic doctor I can say such an orginisation is the right step in the right direction. A couple of things struck my attention. Evidennce based treatment kinda stands out. In this era where we cannot underestimate the presence of traditional quacks evidence based treatment in conformity with research will certainly restore dignity and trust to African Traditional Medicine.
Whilst talk of traditional medicine to get its status as Original Medicine got me laughing there is no denying it is a pertinent point. As natural medicine gains popularity even in the West it has been labeled as Complementary and Alternative medicine. However like the speaker rightly pointed Natural and traditional medicine is the root of medicine and deserves an important status.
On the other hand traditional doctors should also be schooled on the importance of working hand in hand with modern (allopathic) procedures. For example how do you as a traditional doctor treat fibroids without an echography scan distinctively showing its position and size.
Dr Ayukebot Naturopathic Doctor Cameroonian Nairalander
I am very skeptical of so called traditional 'medicine' and it's supposed usefulness. This research group should not have a bias in promoting these practices and should give accurate information along with their research methods. I hope this man does not have a personal stake in legitimising what is essentially glorified quackery.
Ebenezar2020: you're living in a bush. my brother stop wailing like a jobless Ipob and go hustle. I'm living in the Urban city and light is 24 hours and if PHCN takes it off they'll restore it back after 20 minutes
you dey mind that dude wey dey live for inside bush
Please which Urban City is that so I can move there? Is it Leicester City or Manchester City?
£2200 salary is the uk is an ignorant statement to make, a very ignorant and arrogant one Your aunt moved to a new house, a house she is renting just like everyone on the planet renting a house or she got a mortgaged to be paying for the rest of her life a house not even big even Housemaids in Nigeria cant live in. And throughout that mortgage period they dare her not fall sick or leave any job, its a loan to be paid till death You have answered the question if the road , electricity and health care was fixed overnight, are you going to be richer m if the answer is no then both of your aunty and yourself are doomed if i am being honest with both of you. Cos of what you saying all these while the answer is definitely No.
Which kids are you talking about, the same kids that when they grow up they will end up meeting Nigerian kids at uk universities paying for thier fees in cash whilst you aunty kids will still be waiting to apply for government funding, yet she her kids are better than Nigerian kids
Developed economies are an illusion, i spent decades there myself, it is nothing and doesnt offer you anything except where to hide, You can only go there and hide for decades then start lying that Nigeria didnt give you this give you that
Please tell me what's the salary of the average Brit and compare it to the average Nigerian salary?
Also you are still bringing up house size when a lot of Nigerians live in slums, shack, face me I face you and and tiny rented apartments. How many Nigerians can even open their mouth and say they can use their salary alone to buy house and still go to school?
It's like you can't read, infrastructure development won't immediately make everyone millionaires but it will increase the ease of doing business or at the very least make life less hellish. Go to Ogun state border towns and see federal roads completly destroyed and turned to mud pits. Please not everywhere is Lekki phase 1.
Also I want to ask you personally, if Nigeria isn't better than other countries why did you leave? Why did you stay abroad for years instead of coming back? Why are ministers senators and elites take their kids abroad like you said?
adonainana: Yes i have left this country spent many years abroad, people are suffering and smiling there, is shame that cant make some come homw. The bush fire in australia, so the fire service was able to put an end to it in the end abi? Which country do you not see people breaking into people homes to steal what belongs to them? Which country do you not murderers and thieves ? I dare you to ask your aunt and lie that you need 2200 euros for kidney surgery for instance God forbid, o boi na sa you go comot this world be that 2200 Euros is not small money for anyone living in the West. That amount has made some people bankrupt
So you even made my argument stronger, if today now all the roads in nigeria looks good, light doesnt go, nothing will change for people like you. Honestly it has nothing to do with wages because the higher wages your aunt or whoever is being paid abroad means her responsibility such as compulsory expenses takes up the whole chunk and the rest is more like nothing.
Hence the reason wny your aunt cant return home, cos she wont have really made or acquired anything in the years and decades that she has been living there
The 2200 pounds is the salary of the average UK resident in a month. Money that we are boasting about being millionaires with in is someone's monthly salary somewhere else. Can most Nigerians even say they have 1 million in their account comfortably?
The fire in Australia is burning 27000 kilometres of bush, that's almost the whole of Oyo state on fire. Yet ordinary market fire in Oyo state we can't stop when the fire service is right next to it.
You are a real joker, my aunt has already moved to a new house. She is not coming back because she doesn't want her children to experience unnecessary Nigerian hardship. I know people who left Nigeria for the UK then came back to start business but were frustrated by the state government's favoritism in handling the contract and constantly asking for bribes.
Remember when apapa road was undergoing repairs and hundreds of trucks were just sitting around on bridges and motorways. When business owners were lamenting about lost revenue from their products not arriving on time or at all. Just think about all the collapsed tankers and trucks on Ogun state roads. If you can't see the importance of roads electricity and health care to a functioning nation then I can't help you.
adonainana: Pls send a message to any uncle you have that lives here the standard of living is higher i.e europe etc and ask him to send you $ 45 and ask another uncle that lives in Nigeria to send you the same amount. Note down the differences of the two as times goes on.
Come and see fire in the country where there are good roads etc, people living paycheck to paycheck, people stuck in europe and cant even afford flight back to Nigeria where they came from.
All the Nigerian millionaires in Nigeria presently is it not in in within that bad road they made thier money, the ones that left 30 years ago, what exalctly do you think they have except a mortgaged house that even doesnt fit being described as a Security boys quarter house in Nigeria
Pls wake up
It's like you enjoy poverty, have you even left the country before? If you did I don't think you will be saying things like this.
You are bringing up fire in Australia, a naturally dry and arid place which fires love and saying living there is bad. Is it not in Oyo that there was market fire and the fire service next to it didn't have functioning equipment? Or the other 2 market fires in the East? At least there people are doing something about it can you say the same for Nigeria?
You are bragging about big house but how many people in Nigeria are renting that same house? House where you need 10 ft tall fence and 24/7 security so someone doesn't cart away your belongings. .
I know people that left, they don't want to come back, my aunt that lives abroad earns more than her relatives back home.
You are bringing up Nigerian millionaire when 1 million naira is 2200 euros, don't make me laugh. Even abroad where people struggle can you compare it to Nigeria where we don't pay civil servants for months and even at that we can't still give 30k minimum wage. Why do you think so many Nigerian doctors leave?
This Nigerian mentality where rotten infrastructure is not just normal but a thing of pride is why other countries have left us behind. It's only recently that people are slowly getting sense.
adonainana: Fam its so bad oooo, like some people even prefer to go to Iraq than Nigeria.
Reminds me what one lady was saying in Punch the other day like, this bad road una dey complain about everyday. If tommorrow now "all the roads, electricity, hospital was working well," Do u think u will all of a sudden become rich
But cant blame all these foreign families tho, they often avoid coming to nigeria because they cant afford anything in Nigeria tbh, some whilst even working abroad wasnt thinking of building a home or buying a car in nigeria.
So in essence, most people never return to nigeria because they dont have any single thing in nigeria to boast of.
Plus the normal hardship that requires money, so perhaps sometimes someone can understand why they would rather go to iran and die there than come to nigeria
It seems you have misplaced priorities, roads electricity and hospitals are the perquisites to building a functioning nation. When we have these amenities people will have an easier time carrying out business which increases everyone's standard of living. If we can't even provide the basics then don't be surprised when people risk their lives for a brighter future somewhere else.

See future investment opportunities, my business people in the East take note
The entire world should be paying tax to America for keeping a semblance of stability on the planet.
Even with the number of US and Allied bases on the planet, look at how many conflicts and skirmishes are ongoing.
Russia annexed Crimea in Ukraine. China is building artificial islands and seizing territories of its neighbors. North Korea has thousands of artillery facing down on South Korea. Kenya is conducting operations in Somalia. Rwanda is participating in the Second Congo War. And let's not start with the Middle East.
This is the real world. The strong bully the weak.
And the only person wielding the big stick is America. Take them out for one year and every continent from Europe to Africa will be embroiled in never-ending crises. Even us in Nigeria will not be spared. Our fellow Nigerians in the North will import the Middle Eastern/Mediterranean feud over here. Our naive fellows in the South will choose sides as well.
You wake up in the morning, go to work, head home when you close, rinse and repeat; and you think that security you enjoy costs nothing.
I'm not saying America is perfect. But what are our alternatives? Putin. Xi. Kim. Rouhani.
Those guys would meet up, divide the planet, and anybody, ethnicity, or nation who coughs will be deleted without hesitation.
So as you go to bed tonight, say a prayer for the 1.4 million American military service personnel and their allies the world over who maintain the current world order. If you hate it so much, migrate permanently to Russia, China, North Korea, Iran, or Syria. Then lets see how long you last after you question anything about the ruling regime.
-Lord
America starts more conflicts than it solves so military investors can get rich selling weapons and trading resources. So you basically want the rest of the world to pay America so they don't get invaded, that sound very much like how a mafia operates.
Iran shot down 2 expensive US drones. No response. Iran blew and seized oil tankers. No response. Iran took out a significant part of Saudi's oil installations, equivalent to 5% of global oil output. No response. Iran attacks US military base killing one American contractor and injuring 4 US soldiers. No response. Iran prods their militia to attack US embassy in Baghdad in an attempt to sack it.
Trump finally said, "Enough". He took out their top-ranking general in one precision strike.
That's a President. That's a deterrent. Not that useless oaf called Obama.
If Iran had killed another American yesternight with their launches. By now, it'd have been raining fire and brimstone in Tehran!
Iran can sabre-rattle all it wants; but if it tries any of the nonsense it had done in the past few months again, there'll be hell to pay.
Trump just told Iran, "my craze pass your own." Do anyhow you see anyhow. Two seconds.
-Lord
Are you not contradicting yourself with your comments?
festacman: What is the difference between Boko haram terrorists attacking a vulnerable people and Nigerian soldiers extorting the same vulnerable people who are already traumatized?
Nigerian military authorities should do the needful because this video, which has gone viral and already 'YouTubed' is a BLOT on the image of Nigerian Army hitherto higly regarded for its exemplary conduct at UN peacekeeping missions.
It depicts poor state of discipline and zero empathy for local community. It is a show of SHAME.
Nigerian soldiers are already known to be indisciplined. Wasn't it last week some cadets blocked a bridge in the name of celebration? The way some soldiers harass and oppress citizens its like we are still in military rule.
lomprico: Will you call a police that tackles crime a terrorist? Only the criminals will see them as one.
Police ke, don't make me laugh . The same police destroyed most of the Middle East leading to most of the terrorists. The same police trained Osama and his brothers, the same police sponsored terrorists in South America.
ORIENTATION101: The Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council worldwide has called on south-east governors to establish a joint security outfit to address insecurity issues in the region.
Okechukwu Isiguzoro, the group’s president, and Okwu Nnabuike, its secretary general, made the request in a statement.
On January 9, south-west governors will launch “Amotekun”, a regional security outfit.
Ohanaeze youth asked the governors of Imo, Abia, Enugu, Ebonyi and Anambra to emulate their counterparts in the south-west.

IAmStrange: Is it not clear now to the wise the perversiveness and iniquities that this present civilization condones?
is it not clear how the people of these times have miserably drifted away from the path of righteousness and virtuousness?
is it not clear now that in this civilization, the bad are celebrated and the good are criticized? the morally perverted are respected and the virtuous are looked down upon?
Marriage is now avoided and not given due attention and illegitimate children are becoming the order of the day?
this present civilization has many elements of 'calamities' in it.
There's no way we will not be bringing it down. We must bring down this civilization and create a new one.
And that's why we need Imes, the end of these days of unrighteousness and the beginning of better and promising days.
Imes, we await your coming
How many concubines did Solomon and all those European Kings have? Abeg shift

gidgiddy: Lawyer to IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu, and general counsel to IPOB, Barrister Ifeanyi Ejiofor, has returned to his compound after it was invaded and burnt. Taking journalists around, Ejiofor stated that the security forces invaded his house to kill him, in connivance with businessman, Emeka Offor, just because he is IPOB's Lawyer
The Nigerian Police had declared Ejiofor wanted over the deaths of two Police Officers last month by suspected IPOB members in Ejiofors residence
However, Ejiofor stated that the situation had nothing to do with IPOB but more to do with the fact that he was Lawyer to IPOB.
He stated that Emeka Offor, in service to his Fulani paymasters, was after his life for defending IPOB in court. He said that a local altercation between two Masquerade groups was used to rope in Ejiofor which led to the invasion of Ejiofors country home in Oraifite by the police. When the police got his house, and discovered he was not around, they opened fire on the residents and killed 4 people, carting away two of the bodies.
Ejiofor said that it was the bodies of the two innocent people killed in his residence that was paraded as two police men killed by suspected IPOB members
He said that the Police and the Army now mobilised, returned to his neighbourhood and burnt over 40 houses in the area including his own, and raped many women.
He called on the authorities to give him justice by conducting a thorough investigation in what happend in his residence on December 4th
ObiaboAdoka: gay/lesbian z becoming a norm in 9ja. oyibos dat practice such tinx (gay/lesbian) doesn't av tradition. here in africa gay z forbidden. I know one nairalander who z a gay wil stand against my comment.
Well not exactly, white people have plenty of traditions, and homosexuality was practiced in some Bantu tribes long before whites came. Oddly enough homosexuality became taboo immediately after whites took over the continent and imposed their laws.
