The poultry feed industry is facing serious challenge due to increase in exchange rate. increasing cost of local raw materials and the competition(largely on prices
some.
In my area for example. Farmers have complain seriously about drop in production using top feed and vital feed. late last yr , it was animal care when they tried to substitute for soyer due to it's unavailability.
That why we need to come together in this forum and fashion out the most effective means of solving the Fred challenge which constitute more than 70% of our cost of production.
It's time to look inward and tap into the most important potential we have on our inside as a forum.

nice one guy.

the thing is, in osun state, to get meat and chicken to feed the dogs will be a whole lot cheaper.

if u give a guy in local abattoir meat seller 5k for biscuit bone and meat reminants (ashamo egungun)..what you will get will be so great.

focus on regular deworming them...give them raw meat and multi vitamins.

please ensure you have pure bred...and watch your returns multiply.

the truth is...feeding mutt and pure breds is the same but the result is different.
..
Pls op don't give raw meat bc of dangers of food poisoning such as E. Coli etc. Wild dogs in the bush can do well with raw meat bc over generations, they've learned to adapt to it. Domesticated dogs have not adapted to raw meat. They're bigger bc they eat food free of many germs. Pls dont feed raw food so that if sth is wrong with ur dogs u shud be able to know what.

If you watch emmanuel tv, there is a video where they show controlled demolision and a building collapse. The church's building was a controlled demolition. It may be true that TBJ did not get all the neccessary approvals to build the house, just like 1000000s of other houses in naija, but I have a feeling that this is a setup. Those that did it may have known that the house did not have all the approval etc. One prophet last year said that the nigerian govt will start persecuting men of God and I don't know if it is begining. But my prayer is that the real truth will surface. A lot of people died.

AgricultureRe: A Nairalander's Tour To The Farms And Major Markets In The Northern Nigeria. by FarmTech(mod): 12:24am On Jul 02, 2015
otunbaakin:
On behalf of my family, I will like everybody to permit me to write this here. I want to thank everybody for their immense contributions to this issue on ground. I am not a nairalander but I got registered because of the issue at hand. Having read from page to page, I am impressed. I am not here to defend Ibijoke or Jide, but to point out some important issues here.

I am an uncle not only an uncle, a father to Ibijoke. She is my neiece, a daughter to me. Jide is also a man I have met and know well. He once visited my home. I'm aware of how my daughter started her business. She is a hardworking vibrant young lady with goals and determination to succeed in life. Right from her days at access bank and then her relocation to join her husband in the north. I remember so well days she earned penny. A graduate who was not ashamed to hawk kunu and days she carried bag of onions within lagos with a baby at her back. She kept on pushing it till God placed her where she is today.

I am not here to type out long stories but to point out some important things to Jide and everybody reading.
Both parties are hurt and at fault.
They both worked hard as mentee and mentor without proper agreement
The first business transaction 55,000 naira or thereabout didn't go too well as the price crashed. It didnt happen to Jide only but Ibijoke and two of her friends too. They were both witness.

Ibijoke had wanted to pay back the money when Jide once asked but he asked her not to pay. Though Ibijoke got angry because they both knew what happened to the transaction. She insisted on paying but Jide asked her not to pay and promised not to ask of it.
I want Jide and everyone to know that Ibijoke meant no harm to Jide. She had always talk of good plans about him. The same way your mum prays for her thats the same way we pray for you.

Ibijoke and her husband made Jide the manager of the company and according to them, they had finalised and agreed on that hence there was need for the staff of the company to open a salary account. Jide led the staff and he did open a staff account in mid may. If my daughter had nurse any evil plans, all that wouldn't have happened Jide.

Ibijoke never accused you of stealing her money but instead she complained that you left the office and never returned. She kept on dialing your number but was switched off. She kept on calling her staff to check if you ever came to work but you never did. She was so worried and sad about the stock sold and money not remitted, which you both know belongs to customers if I'm right.

Ibijoke as you said is never a coward but her silence is in obedience of our instruction. She has done more than enough and we want her off nairaland and the social media for peace sake and to avoid all sort of distractions.

My daughter doesn't hate you so you cursing the day you met her is un-called for. Her request to know your guarantors or relations was from me. To avoid problems, I instructed that she knows any of your relations or guarantors. It has nothing to do with money or power.

Jide you were not under Ibijoke yoke. There is no yoke in the first place. My daughter is not evil. She is a good christian from a good home.

I want you to know that I blamed my daughter for not paying for your service. To her, the two of you never agreed on that. She prepared your salary, she expected you at work but you never came back to work.

Jide, there was no need for threats or coming out publicly. There were persons you should have reported to. The elders in front of the office, her parents, mentors or even I myself. Ibijoke husband even told me he calls you often to talk to you. So there wasn't need for all this.

As her uncle and father, I stand on behalf of the family to say this matter will be resolved amicably. Do as the lawyer said. There is no need for all this childish drama and I want it to stop. Think of the good time you shared together. Think of the day you came to my home. No man is perfect. Like I told my daughter and I also want you and everybody reading that all that happened has been pre-destined by God.

Because of tomorrow and no man on earth knows tomorrow, I advise both party settle amicably and move on. I've spoken to my daughter already.

To all Ibijoke followers, thanks for your contributions. We will ensure the matter is settled as soon as possible.
Thank you.
..
I just hope this matter is settled amicably, and I just hope Cartered4 will come back and continue from where she stop. I talked with her on FB and she told me what you just said. But what I don't is whether she latter gained back access to her NL account to deactivate it.

In this thread/topic, I'll take you along on my journey as I raise my DOC. This is my second batch. I welcome your advice and criticism. In case you don't know, I have written about my first experience under the thread My Poultry Farm. But a lot of posts were lost when Nairaland suffered from hackers.

Number and Type of Birds: 607 brown day old chicks from Crown Hatchery, Issele-Ukwu, Delta State.

Mortality so Far: Total of 22 chicks died. 5 died due to DOC screening test at the lab. 1 was found dead on arrival. 6 died from avoidable causes. Others died due to respiratory problem – they find it difficult to breath.

https://farmersjoint.com/myimages/my-poultry-farm-2-chicks.jpg

Cost/Chick: N180.
DOC Screening: It was done on day 2 and the cost was N7000. The test covers serological test and antibiotic sensitivity test (AST).  Through serological test you’ll get a vaccination plan suitable for your birds. The later (AST) was for Staphylococcus and Candida spp. It helps you to know the best antibiotics that will work against those bacteria. In my case, Gentamicin and Streptomycin were effective while Oxytetracycline, Furaltadone, Collistin etc were not effective.

Was DOC Screening Useful? Yes! They found out that the chicks have low resistance against Newcastle and Gumboro diseases and I have to vaccinate them fast! They recommended giving gumboro on day 5, followed by Immucox on day 6 and lasota on day 7. But due to some reasons, I have to give the vaccines on days 6,7 and 8 respectively. Most of the chicks that died did so before and some days after these vaccinations, meaning that if I had followed the ‘normal vaccination plan’, there would have been more death.

Brooding: We used kerosene stoves and lamps, but next time I plan investing in gas brooders that cost about N13k. With gas brooders, brooding will be easier and even cheaper, free of clumsiness. For bedding, I used rice hull and covered it with nylon for the first few days (I did this to prevent the chicks from eating the bedding). When I uncovered it, I noticed some molds on the rice hull. I have to remove the affected spots because mold can be dangerous to chicks. I even suspect it could have contributed to the respiratory problem the birds suffered from. Next time I won’t be covering the bedding.

Feeding: We use top feed and feed them ad libitum (i.e. feed is always available).

Vitamins: When I checked how much spent on vitamins for our last batch, I have to buy 1 carton this time around. I bought 1 carton of Vitalyte for N14,720. A carton contains 32 satchets.

Merek’s Vaccination: You can see the vaccination plan in the DOC screening result. Marek’s vaccination was given on day 25. The vaccine cost N3500 and workmanship N3000.

Christianity EtcRe: The Creation- How Compelling Is The Christian Narative? by FarmTech(m): 9:24pm On Jun 28, 2015
holaoluwai:
I believe that after Adam and eve, God created other humans because the bible said somewhere in Gensis "He created them both male and female" so my belief is that Adam and eve were d first humans but not d only ones.
..
I formally had this confusion until I did some research online. Actually in the first chapter vs 29, God gave seed bearing plants to man as food. But in chap 2:5, the bible says that no plant have grown bc God have not sent rain.
..
Also notice sth strange about the animals. Chap 1 says that God 'created' the sea creatures (vs 20) and 'made' land animals (v 24). But then in chap 2, after 'forming' man and placing him in the garden, God 'formed' animals.
..
You will notice that chap 1 made use of the words 'made' and 'create' while chap 2 made use of the word 'form'. So what this means is that in chapter 1, those things that God 'made' or 'created' were not in existence yet. It was a kind of design on paper. It is in chapter 2 that the real forming took place. It was there that all God made or created manifested physically. I hope u understand.

Cain married one of his sisters. Apart from Cain and Abel, Adam and Eve gave birth to other numerous childrens, but the focus was on Cain and Abel. Remember that God told them to multiply and fill the earth. So they don't have to live together. Cain and Abel as the first sons may have decided to live close to their parents but other children may have decided to live very far off. I don't see anything confusing there. For those criticizing the bible, you'll discover how foolish u are whenever u sit down and STUDY the bible. You can't just glance thru the bible once in a while and expect to understand the deeper meaning.
..
Finally, if you find the bible contradictory, it's bc u don't study it.

younglawya:
Most tenants Don't know their rights in Nigeria. The summary of the process in eviction of a tenant from the landlords property is

1. Provision of a 6 month quit notice( applicable for a yearly tenant)

2. After that, if the tenant refuses to leave the premises, the landlord issues a 7 days Notice of owners intention to recover posession.

3. If the tenant refuses to leave, the landlord goes to court and issues a Writ for recovery of premises. This writ has to be served on the Tenant. The tenant thus has to go to court.

THIS PROCEDURE TAKES ALMOST A YEAR.

If any landlord does not follow this procedure he will be in trouble with the Law.

For more Information I can be reached on 07037836881 or 2bc42c35
..
Does landlords have any right? Will all those months be free of charge or will the tenant pay up?
