congrats utchlady, ur birds are doing fine. mine started laying at 23weeks abt 3weeks ago bt i've gotten only 3 crates since then pls house wat cld be wrong wit my birds, i noticed they have lice which am treating though i've treated it b4, their prodtn reached 2% b4 bt now it's 3 or 4 eggs a day 4rm 700 birds.

Do you feed them well and what is their average weight like?

@ Felixzo1 and other gurus in the house: Will it be possible to grow the fodder that will be used in feeding the cow/goat/cattle with HYDROPHONICS SYSTEM. You can easily get it from road side sellers. Or you don't want those type.

You can only do that in light-tight house. But such houses are expensive to build and not suitable for tropics.

Pls don't start photo stimulation at 1.35 kg.
wait till they are up to 1.45 kg, otherwise you will be getting small eggs. the birds will come to lay when they are 1.45kg naturally and then you can gradulao stimulate them to ensure increase in consumption.
the protein content of ur grower feed can be slightly increased to accommodate for poor quality Ingredients.
One more thing. I had discussion with Jamp and realised that raising pullets in the heat period comes with its own challenges. You can however increase feed distribution to MINIMUM 3 Times.
Pls note that the the birds show excitement at each feeding time and this encourages rapid feed consumption.

judithume. The 25kg seem to be about ok for the number of birds given their ages. However, to be doubly sure, can you tell us how much the individual birds weigh? Is there sufficient ventilation as well as light penetration in the pen? What about presence/absence of lice and diseases? Be explicit, pls

I visited a Mega farm with over 50,000 birds last Saturday . the eggs were Jumbo size. the farm is using animal care concentrate.
When I probed further, the manager informed me that the birds are fed twice daily. However, the feed is refreshed everyhour to ensure the birds consume enough feeds daily.
i experimented this with my pullets of 15wks and noticed tremendous improvement in their weight.

But how is it that biogas, which is mostly methane, can be used to power generators? Isn't it the case that generators require PMS (petrol) or AGO (diesel) which are both liquids? Or is there something I am missing? Is there a special step so that the generators can run on biogas?

The one I know of is to use it to run diesel generators. You link it to the air filter.

It depends on ur knowledge of Daniel's prophecy. The prophecy let us know that the last days started over 1500 yrs ago, that is to tell u how patience God is. Remember that the bible said that a thousand yrs is like a day in God's eyes. So 1500 yrs is just 1.5 days. The verse also said that a day is like 1000 yrs in His eyes. Am surprised your maize responded to poultry manure in 4days. That was pretty fast; how long will the post emergence effect of the spray last on the weeds? Do you anticipate any physical weeding before harvest?

Your land prep. was really effective and impressive, but we are not allowed to use inorganic inputs in our farms. Land prep. and manual weeding are always huge challenges.

We cultivate wide array of medicinal plants organically. And "Zobo" (H.sabdariffa) has been giving us problem (pests-leaf hoppers); have you got any organic (sprays) solutions?
